Food may contribute to rheumatoid arthritis through leaky gut – The Gut-Joint Axis

The foods that are often blamed for food allergies and sensitivity reactions are also thought to cause or contribute to inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. These common foods likely do so through a process of intestinal inflammation that results in leaky gut. This injury, which occurs especially in genetically predisposed individuals, and in the setting of altered gut bacteria (dysbiosis), and immune stress, likely predisposes to increased inflammation and leaky gut. This vicious cycle is believed to allow toxic complexes of proteins and bacteria from food to enter the body, resulting in a variety of inflammatory and/or autoimmune conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis. In this context, we review a new study that sheds some additional light on the link between food intolerance and rheumatoid arthritis.

Researchers from Norway in 2006 published additional new evidence of the link between food and rheumatoid arthritis in the British journal Gut. Professor Bradtzaeg and colleagues at the Oslo Institute of Pathology measured IgG, IgA and IgM antibodies against food. They measured these antibodies in blood and intestinal fluid in people with rheumatoid arthritis compared to healthy people.

The researchers performed antibody tests on blood and intestinal fluids for the following food antigens: gliadin, oats, cow’s milk proteins (casein, lactalbumin, lactoglobulin), soy, pork, cod, and egg (ovalbumin). These foods are in the top 10 of common food allergens, as well as food protein intolerances.

What they found was a “particularly striking (incidence) of cross-reactive food antibodies in proximal intestinal secretions,” as well as an increase in IgM antibodies against some of these foods in the blood. The findings in the blood were less striking than in the intestinal secretions. This is consistent with the difficulties in finding elevated blood antibodies against food in people with rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune/inflammatory conditions, despite a wealth of anecdotal experience and elimination diets supporting a role for food in these conditions . Interestingly, Dr. Ken Fine’s fecal antibody tests may be on to something.

The results, in their opinion, indicate that measuring blood antibodies against food in rheumatoid arthritis provides little information about the role of food in rheumatoid arthritis. However, not only do intestinal antibodies show a “surprising” pattern of elevation consistent with adverse immune reactions to foods, but there also appears to be a potential cumulative effect of multiple foods. That is, not only can certain foods trigger an abnormal immune response that results in joint inflammation, but the combination of multiple problem foods may be a key component of this link. Their results support the connection of food cross-reactive mucosal (gut) immune activation with rheumatoid arthritis in at least some people.

What could this mean? These data support the concept and the experience of many people that the elimination of certain problematic food combinations may be beneficial in preventing or reducing joint inflammation. This is both exciting and intriguing.

Multiple commonly eaten foods, frequently linked to food allergies and sensitivities, may be contributing to inflammatory and/or autoimmune conditions. It is likely that these common problem foods or their lectins contribute to the process of intestinal inflammation. This is likely causing intestinal injury resulting in leaky gut. This injury and leaky gut, especially in genetically predisposed individuals, may, in the context of altered gut bacteria (dysbiosis), predispose to further injury. This allows toxic food protein (lectin)-bacteria complexes to enter the body, especially the bloodstream. The result is inflammatory and/or autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.

This gut-joint axis is probably the same mechanism as the gut-brain axis and the gut-skin axis that produce the myriad of symptoms and diseases we are now seeing. Immune reactions associated with food protein (lectin) and bacteria in the gut are increasingly blamed for the development of a myriad of diseases.

Much more needs to be learned, but it is interesting that certain foods continue to show up as the usual suspects. These problem foods or lectins include grains (especially wheat, barley, rye, oats, corn), dairy (casein), nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers), and peanuts, soybeans and other vegetables. Diets that eliminate or restrict these foods have been reported to be beneficial for many symptoms and illnesses. However, definitive links are difficult to establish due to limitations in scientific research.

The foods involved are usually limited in some way on a variety of elimination diets, such as the gluten-free/casein-free diet, the naked diet, Paleolithic/hunter-gatherer or caveman diets, the arthritis diet, the low carbohydrate diet, the anti-inflammatory diet, and the six-food elimination diet.

The paleolithic or hunter-gatherer diet specifically recommends restricting grains, dairy products and vegetables. Several anti-inflammatory or arthritis diets generally recommend eliminating wheat or gluten, dairy, and nightshades. The commonly advocated dietary approach for autism is a casein- and gluten-free diet.

Despite nonspecialized public reports of great success with such elimination diets, conventional medicine remains slow to study the dietary treatment of disease. However, especially in the last two or three years, more studies are emerging showing links supporting an important role for food and bacteria in the gut and various autoimmune diseases.

How To Get Over Your Ex After A Painful Breakup – Get Over It

When a relationship breaks down, everything else seems to fall apart. Your whole life stops at a point and it seems that nothing is positive. But give yourself a break! Breaking up a relationship is not a big deal. The most important thing is how to forget your ex boyfriend or girlfriend or your ex wife or ex husband to move on for a better life.

Remember that it is never too late!

Once you’ve decided to move on, try to be as distant from your ex as possible. Never forget the problems that made you think about breaking the relationship and moving away from that person to seek a better part of the world that you deserve.

Forgetting is also a difficult task when you do it deliberately. It’s hard to get over your ex, especially when you have a lot of mutual friends.

However, you need to remove it from all your social networks to give yourself a break. The moment you log into your GTalk, Facebook and WhatsApp and see your ex flashing on your screen, it will definitely annoy you more. So remove your ex from contact and from your heart!

Avoid mutual friends

Avoid asking your mutual friends about their whereabouts or if your ex has any new friends in life. The more you ignore, the easier it will be to move on. Try to remember the good old days when you didn’t have your ex in your life. Start again!

Try to hang out with more with friends.

True friends are always there for you. So go out with them. Spend quality time with your parents, siblings, or anyone else who has been deprived of your attention when you were very busy in your relationship.

This will not only calm your soul, but also help you understand your own worth.

Try new hobbies and interests.

Take a hobby class. Take a short trip. Skip the hobbies you had with your ex and try something new that you’ve always secretly wanted.

This will tell you how many good things you have deprived yourself of when you were in that relationship. Music, tours, movies, and all kinds of entertainment help relax the mind and body and can rejuvenate it.

Change everything around you. From the things that were put into your life because they were your ex’s favorites, change to what you like.

Change the color of your cushions, curtains, sheets, windows, walls, everything. This will bring a tremendous new energy within you. You will also see the impact of positive feelings in your new life.

change your place

If you can change your city, town, or even neighborhood, that can go a long way toward making you feel more comfortable living without your ex. This will also help you avoid meeting people who have been seeing you together. To remove someone from your life, remove yourself from their life, circle and atmosphere and give yourself a new life!

Don’t jump into a new relationship right after a breakup.

However, it’s never a bad idea to talk more with friends. Try to get together with friends of your gender from time to time. At some point, a little fun with your friends will make you feel better. Venting all your pain also works better. Focus on friendship because it is worth millions of relationships.

Do some social service

If your heart cries and you bring smiles to the faces of others, this gives more happiness. You may feel that you are doing a social service to forget your own sorrows but in the meantime you are doing something good for all humanity. This will help you easily forget your ex and move on with your life.

Male Prostate Massage: How To Send Him Into Ecstasy

Prostate massage has become very popular for sexual pleasure to intensify orgasm during masturbation or with a partner. Since the most direct way to massage your man’s Sacred Spot is through his anus, it takes time to adjust to being penetrated this way. And it’s not for all men. The benefits are many and the pleasure can be very intense for most men.

Before beginning the prostate massage, your partner may want to urinate and/or have a bowel movement and take a shower to cool off. Make sure your nails are trimmed and smooth so there are no rough edges or wear a latex glove or finger glove for safer anal play. Also have enough lubricant available.

It’s important for your partner to be relaxed, so starting with a good sensual massage is great, and when you’re both ready, you can start massaging your partner’s prostate externally. It is easiest to have him lying on his back and then, with the pads of your index and middle fingers, you can touch, rub, stroke, or press on his perineum (the area of skin under the testicles up to the anus), trying out various sensations and pressures. Use your other hand to caress other parts of her body for additional arousal. This is the beginning of the massage, so talk to your partner about what makes you feel good.

You don’t want to go in too fast with your finger, so continue massaging the outside of the anus until it becomes soft and pliable, and not resistant to your touch. You can do this in slow, steady circular motions.

Insert your finger(s) about an inch or so, and when your partner feels comfortable, move your finger(s) up along the forward-facing wall of the rectal lining from his body. Try to locate a round bulge of tissue – this is the prostate. Once you locate this area, move your finger(s) in a “come here” motion. Remember that the prostate gland is a very delicate organ and must be treated with care at all times.

At the same time that you are massaging your prostate, cup your penis with your hand or mouth. Some men can orgasm from prostate stimulation alone, but most men need additional stimulation.

If he truly finds pleasure in this experience, hopefully you will see him escalate to one of the most intense orgasms he has ever had. If not, at least you will learn together, build trust with each other and try something new.

Sensual Seductions – How to make her panties really wet before taking them off

Guys, there are certain things you can do to turn a woman on so much that she’s dripping wet before you even start taking her clothes off! We call these sensual seductions! If you haven’t mastered the art of sensual seductions, you’re missing out on an important part of preparing a woman for heightened sexual tension, which will lead to intense sexual chemistry, irresistible animal attraction, and devastating female orgasms.

But, instead of Sensual Seductions, this happens all the time; guy meets girl, they talk, go on some dates and have GREAT fun and then, seemingly out of nowhere, she throws the “F-Bomb” at him! That’s right, the “Let’s Be Friends” bombshell! At that moment, most of the boys are perplexed and immensely despondent. His feelings can only be described as how the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots felt when they lost the Superbowl. Think about it; you banded together and reached out and we applaud you for that. So you made your move and asked her out of it. We applaud you again for that. Whereas on these dates, you didn’t show him a good time… you showed him a GR-EA-T time! Hooking up with you should have been a no-brainer! Right?

So what was the problem? This is the question thousands of men ask literally every day, right after the F-Bomb is dropped on them. And the answer is; She did not feel, she felt or detected any sexual chemistry! Guys, hear me out on this…you don’t create sexual chemistry by being a NICE GUY. I don’t care if they both attend a Bible College in the mountains of northern Utah. If she doesn’t sense, she senses or detects any sexual chemistry between the two of you, she’ll drop you like a worn tire! Point and end of the story!

How does a guy create sexual chemistry? You create sexual chemistry by being “BAD!” BAD is the acronym for: By Always Delivering. And what are you always delivering? Sensual seductions! From the moment you meet a woman, you start offering sensual seductions and you NEVER stop! Of course, your timing has to be right, but you should always offer sensual seductions because they are what ignite sexual chemistry.

The average man is convinced that in order to create sexual tension, arouse and annoy, arouse or sexually turn on a girl, they need to kiss her on the mouth, have their hands in her panties, or otherwise have sex. with her. Could not be farther from the truth! In fact, that kind of thinking will probably get you banned from the candy store before you even have a chance to get in.

Guys, you must realize; there are certain things that women love and crave that you as a man cannot overlook or ignore unless you are trying to go back to the prehistoric days of cavemen.

Women crave sexual chemistry

Women love to be sexually aroused by a man.

Women love being chased by a man.

Women love when a man makes them feel attractive.

Women love to be seduced by a man.

Women loved being teased by a man

Women love to be romanticized by a man.

By always giving her the things she loves and craves, you’ll make her panties wet long before she starts taking them off!

I bet my wife in a game of poker and I lost!

I’m sure you’ve heard poker stories like this before…

A player is very into a game but ends up having a losing streak. He loses his cool and is desperate to get back, convinced that the next hand will be THE hand to do it. So there it is, with no more money to put on the table. What does he do? He bets something else of value.

Remember the latest James Bond movie, which I actually tagged as a poker movie in an article recently? Remember that poker game between that Greek guy and Agent 007? The other guy bets his car, sure he would win. I think it was an Alfa Romeo, not sure, my memory is a bit fuzzy (all I can remember is Daniel Craig as James Bond). Anyway, Bond wins the hand and the car, of course.

The question is, does this really happen in real life?

You better believe it!

Check out this news clip from Avanova.com:

A Russian man lost his wife in a card game after placing her as a bet instead of cash. Andrei Karpov, from Murmansk, ran out of money in a poker game and offered his opponent his wife instead of cash to stay in the game.

When Karpov lost the game and his opponent Sergey Brodov showed up to claim his winnings, his wife Tatiana was so angry that she decided to divorce her husband and started a relationship with Brodov.

She has since married Brodov and said she does not regret leaving her first husband.

She said: “It was humiliating and I was completely embarrassed. But as soon as my ex-husband did that, I knew I had to leave him.”

“Sergey was a very handsome and charming man and I am very happy with him, even if he ‘beat’ me in a game of poker.”

Speaking of crazy! In this day and age you would think that putting a person as your bet would not be possible! However, when you think about it, it all sounds hilarious, doesn’t it? I mean, it bothers me that a man bets on his wife as if he is the “possessor” of him (as if a person could really possess another person). On the other hand, the wife leaves him and marries the other man, sorry but this sounds like something out of a soap opera, or something out of the Middle Ages!

It’s no wonder that people who don’t like poker view it in a negative light most of the time. When they hear or read news like this, their eyes probably widen in amazement, or maybe they shake their heads in dismay. On the other hand, this happened in Russia, where the rules can be quite different from the US or other European countries. It makes me think of Borat, you know that “journalist from Khazakstan”? It’s like something he would do. I hope I have not offended anyone with my reflections in this article. I found it really funny.

So guys, the next time you decide to bet on your wife, make sure you win. Otherwise, you could end up in divorce court!

Different ways to promote yourself as a model

A model who is truly passionate about pursuing modeling as a long-term career has to take steps to continually promote themselves and stay relevant in the industry.

Make your poses correct

Learn the tricks and secrets so you can quickly achieve a good variety of poses to suit the project you’re doing. Master basic posing tips, such as keeping your chin down, twisting your body two-thirds away from the camera, bringing your ears forward, placing your eyes in line with your nose, not posing straight but at least one leg bent, and opening slightly the mouth to provide a subtle seductive pose. These are some basic tips that once mastered add beauty to any photo very easily.

Another pro tip is to learn to smile with your eyes. Have you heard of smize? Look at Tyra Banks as she flatters her eyes. Your eyes are often the center of attention in photos and are what viewers will look at to infer the emotion of the photo. Your eyes, like a painting, speak more than a thousand words, so learn to use it well.

Social Networks and Instamodeling

Use the power of social networks in your favor. Scouters from all modeling agencies and clients are constantly looking for high-quality models on social media platforms. Create a casual account where you post your selfies, your normal social life, and give some updates on your best work to show your followers more about your life as a model. Don’t create a pro model account that’s full of professional studio-quality photos, as clients are more interested in seeing what you post when you don’t expect them to see it. In addition, it is a platform for you to show your personality. Be vibrant and socially friendly with your captions in that regard. Use appropriate and popular hashtags like #outfitoftheday, #Singaporemodel, etc.; this will help your photos have more reach.

Create a website

If you are serious about modeling and attracting clients, setting up your own website is one of the best ways to go. With many free web hosting platforms like Wix and WordPress, you can easily set up a website that will help you market your modeling brand. But if you do, make sure you have a number of meaningful experiences that you can brag about on the website.

Alternative therapy for mental problems

Alternative therapies for autism

This page is designed to help you research help and solutions to improve autism symptoms. You can use this reference page to find out more about the many different therapies that have helped others. New products and theories are popping up all the time.

There are many different therapies that have helped many people with “mental problems”, ranging from ADD/ADHD/Autism to depression and even schizophrenia. Some (such as EEG Biofeedback (also known as Neurofeedback (NFB)) or End Point Titration (EPT) or Hyperbaric (oxygen tanks), etc., that now have inexpensive alternatives are not included. Google these “names” for information about them.

1. The newest and certainly least expensive “brain training” method is the Neuroliminal Training (NT) system. This has now been shown to be an excellent and inexpensive alternative to both expensive Neurofeedback (NFB) training and hyperbaric oxygen. The results are very similar to those of Neurofeedback (both EEG and HEG BF). For a fraction of the cost of those, it offers an affordable and much better alternative to Ritalin and other dangerous drugs for low and middle income families who simply cannot afford Neurofeedback or Hyperbaric. Both NFB and NT work to eliminate the effects of allergens that cause mental problems of all kinds.

2. Allergens are almost always part of all “brain problems.” There is a simple and free (except for a little detective work) way to detect them. Even if you use NT or NFB training, this is a good idea!

3. For ADD continuum to autism (as well as depression and schizophrenia), there is a good chance that mercury used in infant or child vaccines (or other toxic minerals) could be the real underlying problem. These mineral toxins MUST be chelated outside the body. There are several old and new methods to do this:

has. Vitamin C in large doses: This has two advantages; it is relatively inexpensive and is good for your overall health. In my former practice, I used it with excellent success in many cases of schizophrenia. In general, it is very safe, unless the patient has a corn allergy (not that unusual). For younger children, I would recommend 1 gram (1,000 mg) at each meal per 40 pounds per child. Overdose only causes diarrhea, and this amount may need to be reached if it occurs. If you suspect a corn allergy, use calcium ascorbate, either in powder or pill form. I buy the cheapest form of ascorbic acid from Cosco, but my wife (with a corn allergy) has to use the calcium ascorbate.

b. Chelating chemical injection: A therapy in which a chelating drug (EDTA) is injected into a vein for about one hour in a clinic office. This is also quite expensive. Not recommended.

against Zeolite in liquid form: a newer method that is taken orally (and relatively expensive). This is actually a form of lava rock that is very porous, and this porosity attracts heavy metals (mercury, lead, copper, etc), binds to it, and carries it through the urine/ kidney. The reports are excellent, but they are marketed through a kind of multi-level marketing (MLM) scheme that makes them more expensive. The base retail price is about $50, but if you become a dealer it drops to $33 or so. You can get more details by googling “zeolite”.

d. Glutathione Supplements – There is a supplement (new to me) specifically designed to raise glutathione levels in the body. Glutathione is a natural combination of amino acids that is a powerful antioxidant with several other interesting features:
It is an important part of the immune system that is often overlooked by scientists. Glutathione detoxifies the body by removing poisons, including mercury and other toxic minerals. (Similar to chelation, but most other toxins and minerals). It is not well absorbed when taken as a direct supplement. This is important as there are many supplements that contain glutathione that are generally not effective.

Low glutathione levels are found in all autistic children, as well as in many other sick or toxic people. These low levels do not allow good excretion. This explains why tests for mercury (and other minerals) in hair, blood, and urine do not accurately show what is stored in the body.

Supplemental Program Price: $85 for a 28-day supply. Again, it’s not cheap, but it seems worth it if you can afford it.

4. There is a company that advocates a special “Ecological Body Diet”. This has had great success with autism and virtually every other health problem. It includes many products designed to make the human body work better and more efficiently. It includes some very good probiotics, as well as others that help eliminate yeast overgrowth and “Leaky Gut Syndrome.” Again, it’s not cheap, but it’s worth it, if it’s affordable for your family.

5. What do digestive enzymes have to do with ADD/ADHD and autism? A “leaky gut syndrome” results in more allergy/sensitivity, and enzymes with meals break down food better, reducing the need for “leaky gut.” This has helped many people with ADD/ADHD as well as people with autism.

has. There is a Kirkman Labs sponsored bulletin board that has a forum on special digestive enzymes. Join at: [email protected].

b. Another company that has an excellent line of enzymes is New Beginnings. In addition to enzymes, they have a host of gluten/casein-free nutritional supplements and a “purified source” of cholesterol (see below).

6. At the recent conference in Orlando, I also learned that many autistic people have low cholesterol and that supplementing with two egg yolks a day can improve many symptoms. This is certainly easy and cheap to test. If the person is allergic to eggs (which is common), then a “purified” cholesterol can be obtained from the New Beginnings supplier that is non-allergenic.

7. For autistic (and ADD/ADHD) children, there is plenty of evidence that a gluten-free and dairy-free diet can help considerably. Google gfcf for more information. (The caveman diet above includes this and many more of the commonly allergenic foods. Try it for a week or so, then switch to gfcf.)

8. The latest research also shows that fish oil supplementation can dramatically improve the ADD-Autism problem cluster. I use salmon fish oil from Our Health Co-op. This web-based health food store is one of the best in both quality and price. (I have no financial interest in this company or Solgar, but I buy a number of supplements from them.)

9. There is a drug therapy called LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone). Although it is a drug, it appears that in low doses, it can significantly decrease many disease problems. Some good results have been reported for autistic people. (symptoms) in autism, HIV/AIDS, cancers, etc.

10. Another new nutritional “therapy” involves supplemental glyconutrients. A company called Mannotech is marketing them through an MLM (which I hate), and they are apparently helping with some ADD-Autism symptoms. For more details on glyconutrients, a newly discovered essential nutrient, check out both Manotech and glyconutrients by googling them.

11. There is also a therapy technique called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) that has also shown some good results with ADD/ADHD, depression, etc. This was put together by Gary Craig.

12. Some have had good results with NAET (Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique). However, the results are mixed, and Dr. Nambudripad is unhappy with many doctors who don’t follow her technique carefully.

13. There is a system similar to NAET called Bioset. There is a book “Food Allergy Cure” by Dr. Ellen Cutler, which explains the use of Bioset to eliminate allergies. This can also be done at home, as the book explains “How to do it”. Check your local library and see if they can order it for you, or you can probably get it from Amazon.com. Google bioset.

14. Don’t forget a very important way to improve all mental “illnesses”. Helps resolve “leaky gut syndrome” by cleansing the gut and supplementing with a good vitamin and mineral regimen. This should be a first step.

15. Finally, one of the oldest, cheapest and most effective “remedies” of all: magnesium! It has been known for years as the “calming chemical.” In our culture we rarely have enough, and this deficiency can make many mental problems worse. It’s safe as if you overdose, like vitamin C, it just gives you diarrhea! Milk of magnesia and Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) are two good old fashioned products that are often overlooked today. For autistic and ADHD kids in particular, try Epsom salt baths. It has helped many children and adults. I prefer Magnesium Citrate daily for supplemental use. I got this from the health cooperative mentioned above.

There is also a lot of free information on my website “drbate.com”, and you can get a free copy of the complete book “The Health Revolution” by subscribing to my free newsletter on that home page.

road trip to usa

In Review: road trip to usaby Jamie Jensen

road trip to usa…gets you as close to the real America as possible.”

Here is a question for you. If you had the time and money to take just one long road trip to any continent on the planet, which one would you choose and where would you go? I ask this question because time and money seem to be the only things that keep many people from embarking on their dream vacation.

Last year (March 2008), a survey by the Australian online automotive website Cars Guide indicated that Australians love to hit the road. In fact, the survey of 810 respondents found that a whopping 99 per cent of Australians would take a road trip because of the freedom and spontaneity it allows.

Not long after the Cars Guide survey appeared, a Rand McNally survey (May 2008), which examined Americans’ attitudes toward long road trips, found similar views on this form of vacation. According to the Rand McNally survey (of 2,030 U.S. adults), three in four adults (75%) were at least somewhat likely to take a road trip, and about three in ten (29%) said which was very likely.

Meanwhile, a recent article published in the online edition of the Wall Street Journal (May 2009), reported that road travel was about to make a comeback as the summer travel season began in the United States, despite the recession. persistent and rising fuel prices.

While the cost of fuel and accommodation were nominated as the two biggest concerns in both Australia and the US, it looks like our respective loves of the open road probably won’t wane anytime soon.

which brings me to road trip to usa.

Jamie Jensen’s Best Selling Guide, Road Trip USA: Offroad Adventures on America’s Two-Lane Highways(Fifth Edition, Avalon Travel, 2009) brings you as close as possible to the real America.

With 11 trips to choose from, covering classic American landscapes like the Appalachian Trail, the Atlantic Coast, the Oregon Trail and the famous Route 66, Road Trip USA takes intrepid road warriors through major cities like San Francisco and Chicago, as well as remote but charming American towns like Dyersville, Mississippi (where the baseball field created for Kevin Costner’s film Field of Dreams draws visitors from far and wide); or the small working town of Seneca Falls, in the state of New York (which saw the birth of the American women’s movement in July 1848).

Unsurprisingly, Jensen’s routes also lead to popular destinations like Disneyland, Yellowstone National Park, Niagara Falls, and the Statue of Liberty. Complete with local tradition; Weird Curiosities (Memphis’s gifts to American culture — and the world — include the supermarket, the drive-in restaurant, the Holiday Inn, oh, and Elvis Presley.) Filled with remarkable details and roadside curiosities (a sign in Texas that spells out the command: “Exit Rattlesnakes Here”), road trip to usa contains a wealth of recommendations on where to stop, what to see, and where to eat and sleep. This is a guide meant to get travelers off the highway system and into the heart and soul of America.

Other features of this edition include:

o A flexible network of route combinations, colour-coded and widely referenced to allow for hundreds of possible itineraries
o More than 125 detailed driving maps
o Full color interior with modern and vintage photos and illustrations.
o A road trip resource section with contact information for popular hotel and motel chains, rental car companies, state tourism boards, and highway condition centers.

My personal criteria for a good guide is that it should inform, illustrate, and sometimes even surprise, so I am pleased to say that road trip to usa It has no problem being informative, illuminating, and yes, even surprising.

I have no hesitation in saying that when I embark on my own road trip across America, this will be the only book I have by my side at all times.

Missing?
Unfortunately, road trip to usa it is almost completely devoid of links to online resources. In an age where almost every printed paper has a website URL and email address somewhere; And when so many modern electronic devices come Internet-ready, this seems like a glaring omission. I can only assume that this is a deliberate choice on the part of the author and publisher. With thousands of places of interest detailed in the book, they may have made a decision to try and reduce the visual clutter associated with URLs and make content more ‘readable’ by avoiding them altogether.

While one does not expect a URL or email address for every location mentioned in road trip to usa, surely the main places of interest justify the inclusion of a web link (when available). A quick look at the other guides on my shelf reveals that all of the ones printed in the last five years include web addresses and future editions of road trip to usa I would be well served to do the same.

Before you leave
I think road trip to usa You would also benefit from a ‘Before You Travel’ section outlining basic information on preparing for your trip. This chapter could cover topics such as:

o Useful sources of information (online and offline) on preparing for the trip.
o Safety information (personal, vehicle breakdown and other safety issues)
o What to do in an emergency (breakdowns, accidents, personal attack, etc.)
o A checklist of possible items to pack and prepare
o A checklist of vehicle preparations before the trip (brakes, tire and engine check, etc.)
o Traveling with children and pets

road trip to usa it has a small resources section at the back of the book, only eight and a half pages long, four of which contain a list of recommended reading. The others refer to organizations associated in some way with cars and roads; a short list of hotel/motel chains and car rental companies; and a list of US and Canadian agencies dealing with state tourism and road conditions. And that’s it.

The good news is that the omissions mentioned above do not detract from the overall depth and quality of the detailed information presented on Road Trip USA. At just over 900 pages, I think it’s fair to say that road trip to usa covers all the “basics” and then some. In fact, I have no hesitation in saying that when I embark on my own road trip across the United States, Road Trip USA will be the only book I have by my side at all times.

Signs Your Husband Really Doesn’t Want a Divorce

Sometimes I hear from women who tell me that even though their husband has been saying he wants a divorce, they are beginning to feel a little hopeful that he might change his mind, at least a little. I often hear comments like, “I’m starting to suspect that maybe my husband isn’t so sure he wants a divorce anymore. He’s starting to act a little differently and more accepting of me, but I’m afraid to ask him about it because I don’t want him to.” back off.Are there any signs I can look for that might indicate that you really don’t want a divorce anymore?

There may be some signs that you are conflicted or unsure about the divorce. These vary from man to man and from relationship to relationship. But, I will discuss some of the most common signs in the following article. And I’ll also offer some suggestions on what to do if you see these signs.

Sign number one: is affectionate, interested or attentive: Men who have one foot out the door and are sure they want to get a divorce usually look ahead and thus close themselves off from their wives because they firmly believe that she will soon become their ex-wife. Therefore, it is somewhat unusual to see a husband who wants or has filed for divorce remain at least physically or sexually interested in his wife. Sure, many men are courteous and try to remain present in family life because it benefits everyone to be courteous.

But men who start to have second thoughts about divorce sometimes take it a step further. You will feel attention or a little spark that you may not have felt for quite some time. Most wives suspect that they can feel this difference. If you’re feeling it, just keep going to see if you can develop it without making a big deal about scaring or stopping it.

Sign number two: Doesn’t seem to be looking ahead or taking any initiative to move forward: When a man is sure that a final divorce is on the horizon, he will usually begin to reorganize his life with this in mind. He will get a separate bank account, start looking for another place to live, and generally try to get his affairs in order because he knows that all of these things will be needed in the near future.

But, a man who is not really sure what the future holds for him might drag his feet towards these things or not complete them at all. Now, some men are just procrastinators who don’t make changes until absolutely necessary. And you know whether or not her husband falls into this category. But wives who suspect their husband is moving slowly because he has second thoughts will usually see other signs to help confirm it.

Sign number three: You get the feeling that he is constantly re-evaluating you (and perhaps your marriage) and wondering if a divorce might be a mistake: Men who are sure they want a divorce because it’s the right thing to do or because it’s the right response may doubt themselves at first, but most who go through with a divorce find their resolution somewhere along the way relatively quickly.

Men who are hesitant about divorce will often show their internal struggles with this decision outwardly. They might actually verbalize questions to you that are meant to test you or the relationship to help you decide if the divorce really is a mistake. I’ve had wives tell me that their husband has literally made comments like “I hope we don’t regret this divorce or find out later that it was a mistake.” Sometimes, instead of directly addressing the breakup, they’ll take a walk down memory lane and say things like “we really had fun together, didn’t we?” Or “I want you to know that I really will always care about you.”

What to do if you think your husband really doesn’t want a divorce: There is no doubt that the idea that your marriage is over is a difficult reality to deal with. So it’s understandable that you’d be tempted to go right away and ask him directly if he really wants a divorce or if he’s really going through with this.

I would recommend rethinking this strategy, at least for a while. If her husband is struggling with this decision right now, pushing too hard may make him pull away from her. In my experience, it’s often a better idea to build on whatever “edge” it gives you. If you are becoming more receptive and more interested, then follow up and expand on that without pushing the situation further or trying to define it. Because you may not be sure right now. So you want to wait to ask the question until it’s obvious what the answer will be.

Black Mesa – A Navajo Sacrifice Area

What if I told you there was a place where indigenous people were being exploited? That they were taking away their historical rights? That his religious freedom was completely violated? What if I told you that it has been going on for over 30 years and it was still going on with very little change? Would you believe it if I told you what is happening in the United States? Some of you may not be surprised, but some of you will be surprised to hear that the situation in Black Mesa has come to the attention of the UN religious freedom council, many books, articles and publications have been written about it, and yet if you ask the average person in America if they know, inevitably the answer is NO. I have wondered for the last 10 years, ever since I first heard this story, how can this be? How can such a serious, unjust situation go so unnoticed by the people who live in this country, this country that is based on democratic principles? For me, the situation in Black Mesa has been a microcosm for the world at large. I have often said to myself, if this can happen to the people of our own country, to our own natives whom we should treasure, to the caretakers of our country, to those who came before us, etc, etc, then , someday, these actions will not be limited to them. It is a springboard, a harbinger of things to come.

Black Mesa, also known as Big Mountain, is a beautiful desert land in the far northeast of Arizona. It is also a desolate land that is dotted with few houses and mostly sheep and other animals. It is the home of the Navajo Nation and the Hopi Tribe. These two people have been peacefully sharing and living on this piece of land since time immemorial. But the United States government, which has these peoples in its charge, has drawn its own borders in 1974, which has left more than 10,000 Navajo (Dine’, “The People”) and about 100 Hopi families in the wrong side of the line. This land is considered sacred to these peoples. It is the physical representation of Mother Earth. So when it came to light that these boundaries were being drawn to exploit the land for the resources (coal, uranium, and natural gas) in the land below, the irony was too great. The people whose land was taken from them did not even benefit from the resources themselves: they have no electricity, running water or plumbing, not even a telephone. They make their way in this world as they always have, through their ranching and farming. Yet this very existence was now threatened with lighting up places like Las Vegas and Phoenix and watering their many desert golf courses. All the Dine’ know is that the wells have dried up, the wildlife has disappeared, and the plants for the sheep to graze are becoming scarcer. Like most of these stories, these sad events and measures were arranged by corrupt elements of the national government, greedy leaders lining their pockets at the expense of their own people.

The United States government decided to solve this homeless problem by relocating these Dine’ families who were now on the Hopi Reservation, to search for housing in suburban Phoenix. This did not work for obvious reasons such as the fact that most of these families do not know how to survive in urban areas. Many were unable to pay their mortgages because they were unable to find work, especially since a large percentage of these relocatees are elderly who do not speak English and are illiterate. Therefore, many of these elders, who know no other way of life than grazing and living off the land, began to resist this relocation and still fight for the right to remain on their ancestral lands after thirty years.

The US government, through the Bureau of Indian Affairs, called the Hopi Tribal Police into action to implement and carry out laws to make life more difficult for families who resist, so that leave of their own free will. Things like confiscating their cattle, because they are raiding, not allowing them to collect firewood, since they are stealing, even demolishing their houses and sacred spaces.

In 1998 I was called to action by my conscience. I went out to Black Mesa to spend several months with an elderly couple, helping them with their daily chores and taking care of them. Winter is an unforgiving time on the Mesa. Many hardy old people die in the winter because temperatures drop below freezing, and because wood is so hard to come by, many get sick, don’t have firewood to keep warm, and freeze. I also went to bear witness to the atrocities. It had been documented that families that had a white person with them were not harassed as much by the Hopi police as white people in this country have a say in the media and if anything happened to a white person on the Mesa it was they would be on all waves. What this situation needed and has always needed is media attention within the United States.

During my time there I had the absolute honor of staying with the *Smith’s. (*I have changed his name in this article, for his protection.) But as my time with them continued, I got to know them as “Grandma” and “Grandpa.” My purpose for staying with them was to help them and see firsthand what was going on up there, but I think in the end they helped me even more. When a person of relative privilege goes to a place where the comforts and basic services of home are absent, he forces you to become what is really within you, to invoke your deepest nature. It is an experience where you discover what you are really made of. It gets into the deepest part of you and just makes everything simple. No more taking running water and toilets or a hot bath for granted. Things and the value of things lose importance as you focus more on the things that really matter in life. How much does it really take to be content and happy? What is happiness? Does it come from things, or is it better to feel gratitude after a hard day’s work herding sheep and chopping wood; that beautiful exhaustion that comes from having a real relationship with the earth and the creatures of the earth. I learned to talk to myself and to listen. I asked myself, what are the problems in my life that I would be willing to fight for?

I also helped grandma and grandpa. I was there when the Hopi Ranger arrived with a semi-automatic at his house and began questioning them in a language I knew they didn’t understand. I was there to take care of the goats and sheep when Grandma needed to go to the cardiologist, 3 hours away in Phoenix. Alone and scared, I brought the pack back home when the snow and ice were so deep that walking through them all day had formed balls of ice on their skin and weighed them down so much they could no longer walk. . Relying on this newfound inner strength, I found a stick and began beating snowballs off the goats until I was able to climb the hill and bring them safely home.

I was also there for the humor. The first time I participated in a sheep slaughter, I was given a lot of small jobs to do. Killing a sheep and preparing the meat afterwards is a process that takes all day. The Dine’ eats every part of the sheep. I watched Grandma sit by emptying sheep intestines into old coffee cans and cleaning the intestines with hot water. She took parts of the layer of fat that had dried in the sun and began to wrap it with the clean pieces of intestines. She then put these packets in clean water to keep them fresh. She moved toward me to do something with the bowl of water with intestines and the dirty coffee can. He couldn’t understand why she wanted him to put the clean intestines in the dirty coffee can. So I pretended to do it and she nodded. So I dumped the intestines into the coffee can. She had almost thrown it all away when she started screaming. She came up to me with another bowl of clean water and motioned for her to take the intestines out of the coffee can and clean them out. Then I realized that all she wanted me to do was dump the dirty water from the cleaning container into the coffee can. I felt horrible. But instead of being crazy, it became the joke for the duration of my stay. She started calling me “dygyss” (a form of “stupid” or “git”) and even when we had visitors, she would tell the story of how the stupid bilaga’ana (white girl) would throw clean food to eat in the sheep dung. . Maybe she still tells that story…

I received many gifts there, but the most precious gift I was given was the gift of humility. The gift of knowing how much space I take up in the world. The gift of knowing more is not better. It is quality over quantity, always and the gift of gratitude. That humility has nothing to do with weakness, but it is perhaps the most powerful human attribute of silent power. Give when you have nothing and never pretend to know anything. I’ve been thankful ever since that I don’t have to sleep with one eye open, worry about freezing to death, or having my house collapse when I’m away. After all the pain and sadness these Dine’ resisters had experienced at the hands of strangers, to be accepted enough to invite me into their home, eat the food I prepared, and make a place for me in their family is an overwhelming feeling; how much more advanced and generous and understanding people can be who are on the verge of losing everything. It really changed the perspective of how I think. Even now, almost ten years later, as I sit here writing this, tears are still in my eyes because I have so much left to learn and I wish I had done more. When I was there, I even considered staying with Grandma and Grandpa for a while and continuing to help them as my life’s work. But I knew that I had to go back to my own life, and that my job was to bring these lessons with me and implement them in my own life, away from serenity and simplicity. And tell people what is happening up there, in a beautiful desolate land full of people who “Walk in Beauty.”

As an update, things have for the most part stayed the same in Black Mesa. Grandpa died about 5 years ago, of old age. The grandmother, somewhere in her 80’s, is still living her years, alone, on her piece of land with her sheep. In November, she suffered a minor heart attack after a harassing confrontation with a Hopi Ranger while herding her sheep. To read her statement go to: (Link: [http://www.blackmesais.org/elderstakeaction.htm] ) His case is currently in continuation and the pre-trial date is March 12.

“When you think about it, in all 50 states human rights and civil rights are reported every day on television. Every day the situations across the sea are reported. Here we have the same situation. We are human but our laws have been violated. All the rights of these people have been violated. They are broken. —Percy’s Deal, Dine’, Hardrock Chapter
