Can I make my ex wife love me again? Tips to help you get your heart back

His marriage is over, but all he can think about is how to get his wife back. You thought your marriage was great. Sure, he had his fair share of problems, but what marriage doesn’t have, right? When you wonder if your wife will be able to love you again, the answer is yes. Here are some tips to help you get your heart back.

You two loved each other enough to get married. The kind of love it takes to make a person want to marry runs deep. It doesn’t just go away. Even if she doesn’t want to admit it, she still loves you. It may not be as strong a love as it was before, but there is still love for you in his heart.

When you see your ex-wife, it’s perfectly okay to greet her and stop for a chat. Don’t try to talk too long or have a meaningful conversation with her right now. The shorter the conversation, the better. If there are still hurt feelings or anger, they will reappear when you are together too long. By keeping things short and sweet, she won’t have time to think about the bad things, and you will be in the front of her mind, rather than burying yourself deep in the back.

Why did the two separate? Many things make marriages end. It could have been your fault, hers, or both. Find out what went wrong. What was the last straw and what led to it? Are these problems avoidable?

Are you absolutely sure that the two of you were made for each other? If so, then you have to give it some time. You have both been through a traumatic experience and it will take some time for you to heal. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t see or talk to her. It just means that you should keep things simple right now. Keep the tension at bay.

When you can talk to her more often, it will be time to take another step. Ask him if he would like to join you for coffee or lunch. Stay in a public place where you both feel comfortable. Don’t mention anything bad. You are going to build a future relationship with her, keep the past in the past. Don’t try to watch it every day, there will be plenty of time for that in the future.

Things will happen naturally and you will both be relaxed with each other. Enjoy every minute you spend with her.

A Stepfather’s Story – Sergeant Philip Harrison

An All-State guard in high school, James Toney, was offered a basketball scholarship to play at Seton Hall. James struggled with drug addiction. In 1973, he was jailed for drug possession while his son was still a baby. When he was released, James agreed to give up his parental visitation rights to his son’s stepfather, Philip A. Harrison, and his mother, Lucille.

At 21, his stepson wrote: “When my mother needed someone 21 years ago, Philip Harrison was the man … My father joined the army when I was two so he could live better and also to get us out of the neighborhood. I was born two years before my parents got married. ” In an interview, he said: “The fact that you bring a child into the world does not make you a father.”

Sergeant (sergeant) Harrison saw his stepson leave the house for his first day of school. He was the one who admired his elementary school artwork on the refrigerator. Sergeant Harrison was the one who disciplined his stepson. He saw his first basketball dunk. Sergeant Harrison eventually moved his family to Wildlflecken, Bavaria, Germany, where he was posted as an exercise instructor. Even after entering his stepson’s life, his stepson had a habit of misbehaving and getting into trouble.

Life for his stepson was difficult, but finally Sergeant Harrison was able to help his stepson reverse his course. While living in Germany, he continued to rebel (getting into fights, hitting teachers, breaking into cars, etc.) in the hope that he would be sent back to the US Sergeant Harrison ended that dream by telling his stepson: ” Look, son, now it matters. What you do, I’m not going to let them give you back. And if you don’t listen to me, I’m going to beat you up. Every … just … day. “

Sergeant Harrison’s stepson went on to play basketball in college and the NBA. These are just a few of your child’s career achievements and awards:

  • NBA Rookie of the Year (1993)
  • 4x NBA Champion (2000, 2001, 2002 and 2006)
  • 3x NBA Finals MVP (2000-2002)
  • Most valuable player in the NBA (2000)
  • Gold medal Olympics (Atlanta 1996)

During his days as a gamer, he received many nicknames: Superman, The Big Cactus, The Diesel or The Big Shamrock. Now retired from basketball, Shaquille O’Neal or Shaq is best known as one of the most dominant players in NBA history. In addition to his basketball career, Shaquille O’Neal has released four rap albums, and his first platinum record. He also appeared in various movies and starred in his own reality shows. Shaquille is currently an analyst for the television show “Inside the NBA.”

As a result of his stepfather’s influence and military background, Shaquille O’Neal has made public service a priority in his life. His service ranges from donations to charities and organizations across the country to working as a reserve police officer in Los Angeles, Miami and Phoenix. Regarding his career in law enforcement, “I am not a hero. My [step]my father was my hero growing up. “

Ralph Tresvant biography

Ralph Edward Tresvant was born in Boston in 1968 and grew up with an older sister and younger brother at Orchard Park Projects. He is the lead singer of the Rhythm and Blues group New Edition and has also released some solo albums. He began his school career when he was young, singing with friends from around the age of ten.

High school friends

In high school, at one of the local talent shows he had participated in with childhood friends, he was spotted by songwriter Brooke Payne, who was just beginning to make a name for herself. He is the one who gave the four friends Ralph, Bobby Brown, Rickey Bell and Michael Bivins, the name New Edition. With this name, he intended to convey the concept that this group could be a new edition of the Jackson Five. This description allowed the group to be signed by Maurice Starr, who was looking for a new pop act based on the Jackson Five, and his songs were to appear on his independent label Streetwise Records. A fifth person, Ronnie DeVoe, was added to the group. The debut album of this exciting new group New Edition was released in 1983. Candy Girl was a huge success for the group, followed by Popcorn Love and Is This The End. Like teenage sensations in the ’80s, the four friends could move out of the Boston housing projects.

Net worth

Today, due to New Edition’s successful singing career, numerous singles, and 2008 touring initiative with the Head of State band alongside Johnny Gill and Bobby Brown, Ralph’s popularity has risen sharply and his net worth is now at about eight million dollars.

Successful solo career

All members of the group have had their own solo artist reached number one on the charts, and Ralph Tresvant was the last to release a song on his own. Bobby Brown had sung Girlfriend, and Bell, Bivins, and DeVoe had combined with the song Poison. New Edition as a group had also had four number one songs, so Ralph Tresvant had certainly had some good hits to compete with. In a way, it was to his advantage as he was able to see what the fans were expecting and what they would like. Tresvant is normally an introverted character and was a bit nervous about going public with a solo effort, but his song Sensitivity sold over a million copies and stayed on the top 10 R&B list in America for weeks.

Movies and a radio show

After discussions about money, New Edition left Starr’s record label and signed up with the leading company MCA Records. New Edition’s second album was released and success continued with the song Cool It Now. Tresvant’s soft singing style had become a recognized asset to the group. He was also asked to sing a few numbers on the film’s Mo ‘Money and The Preacher’s Wife soundtracks, and even made a short film debut by appearing in the comedy House Party 2.

Today, Ralph Tresvant hosts a radio show in Boston, combining R&B with other categories of music such as soul and hip hop. He is a generous man and started his radio show with a charity campaign.

Wearing polyester clothing can be dangerous to your health

There are many good reasons to choose eco-friendly clothing over polyester clothing. Polyester clothing is produced from petroleum, which is an obviously unsustainable resource. It also takes a great deal of energy to produce polyester and since it is not biodegradable it fills up our landfills.

But new research also suggests that polyester may not be good for our health. Due to its synthetic structure, polyester clothing produces a very strong electrostatic potential. Recently, researchers have begun to explore the impact of electrostatic potential on our health. This investigation is revealing and terrifying.

One study, reference Shafik A, 2007, explored the effect of different types of textiles on pregnancy in 35 pregnant dogs divided equally into a control and four experimental groups. During pregnancy, the test groups dressed in a garment made of pure polyester, cotton or wool, or a 50/50 blend of polyester and cotton. Serum estradiol 17B and progesterone were measured before and every 15 days during pregnancy. The electrostatic potential on the skin was evaluated before and after wearing the garment.

Dogs wearing cotton, wool, and a polyester-cotton blend, as well as five of the seven wearing pure polyester garments, had normal serum estradiol and progesterone during pregnancy and produced normal offspring. The remaining two animals in the pure polyester group showed low serum progesterone levels in the first month of gestation and had spontaneous abortions. Mating was attempted in these two dogs during the subsequent estrous cycle without forcing them to wear polyester garments. The serum levels of reproductive hormones were normal and they produced normal offspring. Electrostatic potential was detected in the skin only of the polyester-coated groups, and it was higher in the pure polyester groups than in the mixed polyester groups.

Given the low number of participants in this study, no conclusions could be drawn. However, the fact that low serum progesterone and abortion was seen only in the pure polyester group is cause for concern. The abortion appears to be due to low serum progesterone that may have resulted from the deleterious effect of PD on ovarian or placental function.

Although this study was not statistically conclusive, previous research, referenced Shafik, 1999, conducted in human males was very clear. In the 1999 experiment, the impact of polyester on spermatogenesis was investigated. In that study, 11 male subjects wore polyester underwear. All subjects wearing polyester underwear developed a significant electrostatic charge in the scrotum. Of the 11 subjects, 4 individuals developed a significant reduction in sperm count as well as testicular degeneration after 14 months. In a control group wearing cotton underwear, no change in sperm count was observed.

Removal of polyester underwear produced a complete reversion in affected subjects to normal sperm count and removal of electrostatic potential.

The study went further to explore the possibility of using polyester as a male contraceptive. The contraceptive effect of a polyester sling applied to the scrotum was studied in 14 men who wore a polyester suspender for 12 months.

The sling consisted of polyester fabric and was designed so that the scrotum would sit within it.

The suspender was worn day and night and changed when it got dirty. I won’t go into the essential details, but the bottom line is that ALL subjects became azoospermic, zero sperm counts, after approximately 140 days. The good news is that the process was reversible.

It seems clear to this author that polyester has a real and negative impact on the human body, apparently due to the significant electrostatic potential produced by the fabric.

If you are trying to have children and you are a man, I suggest you get all the polyester underwear out of your drawers. If you are a woman, I suggest you take no chances and avoid wearing polyester clothing, at least during pregnancy. And while you’re at it, stock your wardrobe with some eco-friendly clothes. Not only will the planet appreciate it, but so will your health!

What is the most profitable energy savings?

As humans become more and more environmentally conscious, alternative energy sources are becoming the rage of the times. Many people use solar power and wind power to generate power to save on energy bills and limit damage to the environment.

Markets offer many options for home power generation and the very variety of these sometimes makes the choice difficult. One of these power generation equipment is a magnetic power generator. It may be comparatively less well known than solar or wind energy methods, but it is surely a great way to generate power at home.

Solar energy is undoubtedly a good source of power generation because sunlight is an inexhaustible source of energy. Still, the method is not widely used yet because it did not turn out to be the most cost-effective solution.

The solar panels required for this purpose are expensive and you will have to install some of them to harness the energy from the sun. And it takes a few years for all this setup to produce the expected results.

Saving money by saving on energy bills and repaying the money invested in installing the entire mechanism will take so long that the whole idea does not appear to be economically viable. That is the main reason for the limited popularity of solar energy production for household needs.

Magnetic power generators are quite far from the solar power system. The initial investment cost of a magnetic generator is quite reasonable, since it can be installed for around $ 100. It does not require much space to install and is also inexpensive to maintain.

While windmills can generate power only in windy places and solar power can only be generated on sunny days, a magnetic power generator can perform well regardless of weather conditions. Also, returns can be obtained quickly as your energy bill will start to go down very soon.

Relying on alternative energy sources is important as a sound economic plan, and also in the context of preserving the green planet. From these two perspectives, investing in a magnetic generator will be a good idea.

Its low initial investment, its limited dependence on external sources, its easy maintenance program and its fast returns will go a long way towards making a home energy efficient and decreasing its dependence on the common grid. For all those trying to lower their energy bills and generate clean electricity, a magnetic generator is the right answer.

How to develop a compact baseball swing

All major league hitters have compact swings. They couldn’t get to that level without one. What separates hitters at this level is their degree of speed and batting speed. The speed of the bat determines how fast they can get the bat to the ball once they decide to swing. This is one of the necessary ingredients to be able to wait on the pitch as long as possible and to make contact. The speed of the bat determines the amount of power a batter will produce if solid contact is made when the ball is struck. Again, though, all major league hitters have compact baseball swings. This is vital to reaching the speeds that Major League Baseball players grapple with.

You might ask, “If everyone has compact swings, why are some of them crossed out so much?” There are three reasons for that and one was mentioned, the speed of the bat. A compact swing does not guarantee a fast bat. Two, some players lean their upper body more with their swing. When players collapse their rear end creating uneven hips, they create more upward swing, leading to more lift on the ball, but also more misses. Three, some players just have better hand-eye coordination.

Developing a compact swing should also be the goal of young baseball hitters. This will be necessary if they want to hit consistently as they move up the baseball ladder.

First, a definition of a compact swing is necessary. Compactness implies a short, narrow area and this would define a good baseball swing. A compact baseball swing is one in which the barrel of the bat passes from the hitting position (over the batter’s back shoulder) directly to the ball as the hands descend to a palm up and down position approaching the ball. strike zone. The barrel of the bat remains relatively close to the batter’s head on the way to the ball, without drifting into the contact area. Why is this so necessary? The more compact the swings, the longer hitters can wait on the ball, which is a huge advantage when making decisions on different speed pitches.

The following are the exercises that will lead to a compact baseball swing, giving players the best chance of succeeding in baseball:

1. Place a pad under the batter’s lead arm and take a few swings without the pad dropping all the way. Hitters will develop strong and fast hands and forearms with this drill and not a long arm swing.

2. Have the batters stay away from the net with their navel and swing the edge of the bat brushing the net in a quick, full turn. This will force the batters to keep their hands close to the body to avoid throwing the bat.

3. Have the batter stand with the net close behind them (toward the catcher) and make any missing changes to the net on the way to the ball. This drill is best done without striding and will not allow hitters to drop the barrel of the bat.

4. Place a batting tee at hip height and even with the batter’s back hip. Batters swings while missing the tee and hit balls at any level, even at the knees; it is best done with drop ball drills or soft flipped ball throws.

5. Ball Drop Drill: The coach holds the ball in the air and drops it into the batter’s strike zone after the batter takes his step. A compact swing is necessary to make a solid and consistent contact.

6. Alternate fast and slow pitches until batters learn to swing the same fast on all pitches – when players make good contact at both speeds while hitting balls in the direction where the pitch is on target.

Finally, hitters can perform some of these drills in combination with the other drills to challenge them even more. For example, you can combine the glove under the front arm (# 1) and the drop ball exercise (# 5) with the high tee (# 4) at the same time.

Fantasy Football 2014 Simulated Draft

When it comes to fantasy football drafts, it always amuses me when people start producing mock drafts long before Labor Day weekend. There are too many unknowns due to injuries, positional battles, and stupidity to be worth it. I guess if you’re in a league that requires you to write weeks before the season starts, it makes sense, but even that makes me laugh. If it’s a league for fun, go crazy. However, most of us have a personal financial interest in how our team is doing and I’m sure I don’t want any of my best teams to waste time due to an off-field injury or an off-field injury. It’s quite interesting to see the change in average draft position in the weeks leading up to the season. Players like Steven Ridley and Cam Newton have crashed and players like James White and Emmanuel Sanders have exploded.

Mock drafts can vary greatly depending on the scoring system, especially when using receiving points, and whether or not the league is a Rework League or a Dynasty League. For our purposes, this is a standard fantasy football league scoring system for a newly drafted league.

This assumes an initial roster of 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 D / ST. Points would be awarded for the following actions:

  • Passing: 1 point for every 25 yards, 4 points for every touchdown and -2 for every interception.
  • Running: 1 point for every 10 yards, 6 points for every touchdown and -2 for every loose ball
  • Receiving: 1 point for every 10 yards, 6 points for every Touchdown
  • Kicking: 3 points for each field goal made and 1 point for each successful extra point
  • Defense: 2 points for each fumble recovered, 2 points for each interception, 1 point for each sack, 2 points for a shutout and 2 points for a safety

Round 1

1 Jamaal Charles, KC

2 LeSean McCoy, PHI

3 Adrian Peterson, MIN

4 Eddie Lacy, GB

5 Matt Forte, CHI

6 Jimmy Graham, NO

7 Marshawn Lynch, MAR

8 Calvin Johnson, DET

9 Demaryius Thomas, DEN

10 Montee Ball, DEN

11 AJ Green, CIN

12 Peyton Manning, DEN

Assessment: Having a top 5 pick is easy as you could defend any of those running backs. After that, he’s a bit sketchy, as there’s great depth at tight end and quarterback this year. It’s good to think of a team with Jimmy Graham or Peyton Manning, but I’d rather have a running back to start my team and build around.

Round 2

13 DeMarco Murray, DAL

14 Brandon Marshall, CHI

15 Dez Bryant, DAL

16 Andre Ellington, ARI

17 Zac Stacy, STL

18 Drew Brees, NO

19 Giovani Bernard, CIN

20 Alshon Jeffery, CHI

21 Doug Martin, Executive Vice President

22 Le’Veon Bell, PIT

23 Aaron Rodgers, GB

24 Ryan Mathews, SD

Assessment: Decision time in round 2. Should I go traditional and get a second RB or is it better to get a good RB and a good WR? I think there is a lot of depth to WR this year and I recommend that you get 2 solid RBs.

Round 3

July 25 Jones, ATL

26 Jordy Nelson, GB

27 Antonio Brown, PIT

28 Randall Cobb, GB

29 Alfred Morris, FUE

30 Arian Foster, HOU

31 Julius Thomas, DEN

32 Andrew Luck, IND

33 Rashad Jennings, New York

34 Toby Gerhart, JAC

35 Victor Cruz, New York

36 Reggie Bush, DET

Assessment: If you’ve already grabbed two RBs, you definitely need to grab a WR in round 3. If you split them, I recommend taking that second RB. If you grabbed Peyton, Brees, or Rodgers, you have to balance your team in this round as the levels start to drop from here.

Round 4

37 Vincent Jackson, VG

38 Rob Gronkowski, NE

39 Andre Johnson, HOU

40 Matthew Stafford, DET

41 Keenan Allen, SD

42 Frank Gore, SF

43 DeSean Jackson, FUE

44 Michael Floyd, ARI

45 Pierre Garcon, was

46 Roddy White, ATL

47 Chris Johnson, New York

48 TY Hilton, IND

Assessment: Questions abound in round 4 due to direct or indirect health concerns. Stafford should have a great year, but I really like Kennan Allen in this place.

Round 5

49 Larry Fitzgerald, ARI

50 Ben Tate, CLE

51 Torrey Smith, BAL

52 Steven Jackson, ATL

53 CJ Spiller, BUF

54 Jordan Cameron, CLE

55 Cordarrelle Patterson, MIN

56 Reggie Wayne, IND

57 Fred Jackson, BUF

58 Shane Vereen, NE

59 Marques Colston, NO

60 Percy Harvin, MAR

Assessment: If you thought Round 4 was difficult, Round 5 is even more so. There are a handful of very high potential players here, like Cordarrelle and CJ, but I really like Cameron as Cleveland has the worst WRs ever lined up in professional football.

Round 6

61 Julian Edelman, NE

62 Jeremy Maclin, PHI

63 Eric Decker, New York

64 Colin Kaepernick, SF

65 Vernon Davis, SF

66 Wes Welker, DEN

67 Emmanuel Sanders, DEN

68 Trent Richardson, IND

69 Tom Brady, NE

70 Joique Bell, DET

71 Golden Tate, DET

72 Bishop Sankey, TEN

Assessment: Tom Brady in round 6? It’s been a long time since we’ve seen anything like this. I still think what would happen and catch Ryan, Rivers or Cutler in one of the next 3 rounds. I like Sanders if I want a WR here or Bell if I want a RB. He had big numbers last year, even in a split role. That role should continue this year with him making the red zone work. Also, Reggie is not Mr. Durability.

Round 7

73 Matt Ryan, ATL

74 Jason Witten, DAL

75 Mike Wallace, MIA

76 Kendall Wright, TEN

77 Terrance Williams, DAL

78 Michael Crabtree, SF

79 Ray Rice, BAL

80 Maurice Jones-Drew, OAK

81 Knowshon Moreno, MIA

82 Riley Cooper, PHI

83 Darren McFadden, OAK

84 Nick Foles, PHI

Assessment: There is a lot of value in this round. I like that Mike Wallace has a solid year with Tannehill growing in his position. Matty Ice has her weapons back. Moreno should take over RB’s number one spot in a few weeks. Cooper, Williams and Wright will have solid numbers. Enjoy this round as it won’t be that easy for a few rounds.

Round 8

85 Sammy Watkins, BUF

86 Russell Wilson, SEA

87 Stevan Ridley, NE

88 Pierre Thomas, NO

89 Tony Romo, DAL

90 Lamar Miller, MIA

91 Cam Newton, CAR

92 Brandin Cooks, NO

93 Cecil Shorts, JAC

94 Philip Rivers, SD

95 Dwayne Bowe, KC

96 Terrance West, CLE

Assessment: LOADS of questionable selections here. If you need a quarterback, Rivers is a must now. I trust Cooks and West as rookies more than Watkins, but I would leave Cam and Ridley alone here. Bowe could be a valuable pick here, as KC has no receivers beyond him.

Round 9

97 Dennis Pitta, BAL

98 Carlos Hyde, SF

99 DeAndre Hopkins, HOU

100 Kyle Rudolph, MIN

101 Jay Cutler, CHI

102 Robert Griffin III, FUE

103 Shonn Greene, TEN

104 Bernard Pierce, BAL

105 Kelvin Benjamin, CAR

106 Greg Olsen, CAR

107 Darren Sproles, PHI

108 Anquan Boldin, SF

Assessment: This round is a mix of the good and the bad. Cutler’s limit is through the roof this season, but the threat of injury is always very high for him. Kyle Rudolph should be a solid pick now, as should Olsen. Many advantages with Benjamin, Pitta and Hopkins.

Round 10

109 Jordan Reed, FUE

110 Jeremy Hill, CIN

111 DeAngelo Williams, CAR

112 Danny Woodhead, SD

113 Hakeem Nicks, IND

114 Justin Hunter, TEN

115 James White, NE

116 Martellus Bennett, CHI

117 Mark Ingram, NO

118 Danny Amendola, NE

119 James Jones, OAK

120 Jonathan Stewart, CAR

Assessment: Stewart, Amendola, and Nicks have tricked me enough to keep me out of all my fantasy football leagues. Hunter, White, Jones and Ingram have a lot of value in this round. Hill should see a nice split of action with Bernard, as do Reed and Bennett on teams with plenty of other options.

Round 11

121 Greg Jennings, MIN

122 Christine Michael, SEA

123 Marqise Lee, JAC

124 Ben Roethlisberger, PIT

125 Zach Ertz, PHI

126 Tre Mason, STL

127 Jordan Matthews, PHI

128 Mike Evans, VG

129 Markus Wheaton, PIT

130 Donald Brown, SD

131 LeGarrette Blount, PIT

132 Steve Smith, BAL

Assessment: Just when you would expect to be dragging the bottom of the barrel, you will find happiness in many WR options here. This round epitomizes why I emphasized a career in RB at the beginning. Lee and Matthews could end up being the top receiving options on their respective teams. Wheaton, Smith, and Evans can also get significant numbers, as can Ertz at the TE position.

Round 12

133 Devonta Freeman, ATL

134 Ladarius Green, SD

135 Andy Dalton, CIN

136 Andre Williams, New York

137 James Starks, GB

138 Knile Davis, KC

139 Khiry Robinson, NO

140 Rueben Randle, New York

141 CJ Anderson, DEN

142 Carson Palmer, ARI

143 Tavon Austin, STL

144 Seattle Seahawks D / ST

Assessment: Hello wives! It’s always a good idea to back up your studs’ RBs if they have talented backups. That’s the majority of this round. There is always a team that considers itself smart in choosing the best defense before the inevitable late streak. I guess I can handle that with a backup QB.

Round 13

145 Brandon LaFell, NE

146 Josh McCown, TB

147 Ronnie Hillman, DEN

148 Doug Baldwin, SEA

149 Joe Flacco, BAL

150 Jerricho Cotchery, CAR

151 Charles Clay, MIA

152 Kenny Stills, NO

153 Mike James, VG

154 Mike Williams, BUF

164 San Francisco 49ers D / ST

155 Ahmad Bradshaw, IND

156 Ryan Tannehill, MIA

Assessment: As mentioned in Round 11, you can find solid receiving options in these final rounds. The Patriots don’t have an established No. 1 WR and LaFell could easily take on that role. Carolina is starting over at WR and Cotchery has the longest tenure. Seattle showed they believe in Baldwin by giving him a contract to win and Stills showed a good relationship with Brees last season, but you can’t expect consistent production from him.

Round 14

157 Brian Hartline, MIA

158 Mohamed Sanu, CIN

159 Andrew Hawkins, CLE

160 Kenbrell Thompkins, NE

161 Carolina Panthers D / ST

162 Denver Broncos D / ST

163 Lance Dunbar, DAL

165 Antonio Gates, SD

166 Dwayne Allen, IND

167 Robert Woods, BUF

168 Michael Vick, New York

Assessment: Bottom of the barrel, we find you here. Hartline, Thompkins and Hawkins are well worth a flyer here if you have room for an additional WR. Other than that, take a backup or think about diving into the fender pool.

Round 15

169 Stephen Gostkowski, NE

170 New England Patriots D / ST

171 Houston Texans D / ST

172 Cincinnati Bengals D / ST

173 Arizona Cardinals D / ST

174 Dri Archer, PIT

175 Matt Bryant, ATL

176 Tampa Bay Buccaneers D / ST

177 Buffalo Bills D / ST

178 Kansas City D / ST Chiefs

179 Justin Tucker, BAL

180 St. Louis Rams D / ST

Assessment: Get a defense. They are pretty thin this year.

Round 16

181 Steven Hauschka, SEA

182 Chris Ivory, New York

183 Mason Crosby, GB

184 Phil Dawson, SF

185 Adam Vinatieri, IND

186 Baltimore Ravens D / ST

187 Nick Folk, New York

188 Robbie Gould, CHI

Clowns are no laughing matter these days

Once upon a time, clowns were benevolent figures of laughter and joy.

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, American children followed the animated antics of Bozo the Clown on television every week. The cartoons were presented by local presenters composed like the Bozo with carrot. One was Willard Scott, who would later become a meteorologist for the NBC Today show. Willard Scott was also the first Ronald McDonald, making his first appearance in a 1963 television commercial for the hamburger franchise.

Fast forward ten years to Cook County, Illinois (interestingly, the location of one of the first McDonald’s restaurants). A character calling himself Pogo the Clown is a popular attraction at community events. Meanwhile, young people keep disappearing …

Beneath the clown makeup and clothes is a psycho named John Wayne Gacy. Between appearances as Pogo, he strangles 34 victims to death. He does not wear the clown costume when he kills, but his Pogo alter ego forever changes the image of the clown in the popular consciousness. Almost overnight, clowns are scary, with Gacy paving the way for numerous portrayals of bad clowns in literature and film, most notably in Stephen King’s It.

King’s novel came out in 1986 and was a huge bestseller. In 1990, his nightmare creation, Pennywise the Clown, was brought to the small screen in a miniseries. Also in 1990, a Florida woman, Marlene Warren, opened her front door to a brown-eyed clown carrying flowers and balloons. The clown shot him in the face and drove off in a white Chrysler. The clown’s victim died two days later. The murderer, a woman, eluded capture for more than a quarter of a century, but is now serving time for murder.

The 1990s and 1990s saw chilling depictions of The Joker, the green-haired joker in the Batman franchise, by characters like Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. We also put Krusty, the degenerate clown from The Simpsons.

But it wasn’t until 2016 that caulrophobia, the fear of clowns, reached a real fever pitch. In the latter part of that year, the world was caught up in a wave of ‘scary clown’ sightings. In the run-up to Halloween, social media sites received numerous posts about sinister-looking clowns reportedly lurking first in the woods and then in a number of urban locations in the US, UK, and UK. Australia and several other countries. It got so bad that the president of the World Clown Association, Randy Christensen, took to YouTube to condemn people who dress up as clowns to scare people. “Whoever is doing this crazy thing is not a clown,” said Christensen, a Minnesota-based party clown. “He is someone who is using a good, clean, healthy art form and distorting it.” Christensen added that members of his association had suffered job cancellations and felt threatened after coverage of terrifying clown sightings.

It was all too much for McDonald’s. On October 11, 2016, the hamburger giant announced that its mascot would be keeping a lower profile as a result of the incidents. A spokesperson said the hamburger clown was reducing his appearances at community events as a result of the “current climate surrounding clown sightings in communities.”

There was a knee-jerk reaction from other corporate entities like Target, which took clown masks from its website and stores. Schools as distant as Ohio, USA, and Otago, New Zealand, banned clown costumes and masks.

Fast forward to Halloween night, Monday, October 31, 2016. Caulrophobia had taken hold in such a terrifying way in the United States that large numbers of heads of households and parents of traffickers had firearms at the ready that night.

Fearing retaliation from vigilantes, most of the clowns kept a low profile on Witch’s Eve. Not so in Orange County, Florida, where two men needed medical treatment after being attacked by a group of 20 people wearing clown masks. But other than that, Halloween night 2016 seems to have been a bit of a fizzer in the scary clown department, given all the buzz that led to it.

Now blinking until May 2017. A bald man with glasses in front of a court in Nova Scotia, Canada. It’s Dale Raincourt, aka Klutzy the Clown. He pleads guilty to the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl over a six-week period. The judge imprisons him for two years and prohibits him from working as a children’s entertainer. Another nail in the coffin for authentic clowns trying to earn an honest living.

Then in the fall of 2017, the big-budget film production of It arrived. Pennywise was back, scarier than ever! The film proceeded to do a very dynamic business indeed at the box office, with the highest attendance ever for a September-October premiere.

So where does that leave the benevolent, child-friendly clown of yesteryear? Well, many of them have hung up their clown costumes and wigs forever. Others have strategically aligned themselves in the market, promoting themselves as “balloon artists” and avoiding all use of the “c” word.

And poor Ronald McDonald has been put to pasture in most of the world. On a recent trip to Thailand, I found his life-size effigy outside a McDonald’s in Bangkok. Her palms were together in a “wei” greeting. Alternatively, he could have been praying, asking for divine intervention when the clown joins the ranks of vampires, zombies, and other inhabitants of our worst nightmares.

A letter to our wonderful teens from one of the older generations

Dear teenagers,

We love you. Believe it or not, we were teenagers too and we remember what it was like to be young. We have a hard time admitting it, but we also believed we were invincible, as I am sure you do. We think: “Nothing will ever happen to us!”

We were also motivated by fun, just like you. It’s great to be young, but as we now know, if we’re not careful with our attitude and choices, fun can turn into tragedy!

I want to share with you some of the experiences that I have had and some of the things that I have observed and learned.

The reality is that many of the people we met, when we were young, did not make it. Or they are dead; because of the decisions they made, or have destroyed their own lives with alcohol and drugs, especially alcohol! Many of them have ruined the families they had, due to their bad habits and many of them harmed their children, being bad examples.

Those of us who survived were able to see where our lives were heading and made better decisions. For some reason we were the lucky ones. Possibly, to be able to share with you what we have learned. The truth is, WE FEAR FOR THEIR LIVES!

Too many of you are headed for a life of destruction. ALCOHOL AND DRUGS WILL DESTROY YOU! You may not believe it, but we’ve lived long enough to know that what I’m saying is true.

The party was the name of the game then and it still is. Partying means drinking alcohol and / or using drugs. Of course, you like doing these things because, temporarily, they make you feel good and it seems like you’re having fun. It’s just that once the so-called fun is over, what are the consequences?

Here are three true stories of children who are now suffering the consequences.

This is a letter from a boy, who is locked up in Juvenile Hall in San Diego.

Be a winner in life

I am in jail at the age of sixteen in unit 800, maximum security, and it seems that I am facing a long time for my crime.

I was with four of my friends driving to a party. When we arrived, my so-called friends offered me a drink. Usually I was drinking and taking some drugs, that horrible night, but I was driving so I said “no” at first but then peer pressure started “Oh come on, don’t be a coward”, or ” a drink won’t hurt. “

So, like any other teenager, I did it with pride and drank that little shot of liquor, like it was a glass of water, and you know you can’t have just one drink, so one drink became two, two into three. and three became six.

Now at the party feeling better than ever, my cell phone rings and they are my worst enemy girls … They ask me and my friends to come kick it. I say “no” because it was discolored. But the homies said, “yeah, we’ll come.”

So me, I’m coming in all drunk and disheveled, saying to myself “who cares, what’s the worst that could happen to me?” My friends got on the ride.

We are now on the road, driving about 120 miles in a residential area. They all deviate and zigzag. Red lights, blue lights, cops behind me. In my mind, I’m thinking “I could lose them.”

My friends tell me, “don’t stop.” What should I do now? So when I’m puzzled, my friend reminds me how much trouble I’m going to get into, so I thought, “don’t fry.”

When I stopped, I saw the policeman get out of his police car and come towards me. When he got to the end of my car, I put the car in gear and drove away … fast, uncontrollably fast, on the freeway driving 135 miles per hour, feeling like a superman flying, passing cars, feeling so good, because I lost to police.

The next thing I know is BAM !!! Car crash. Blood everywhere. Broken windshield and to top it all my friend flew out the front window. No seat belt on

It left me and my other two friends injured. But at the time he wasn’t worried about us. It was the outsider that worried me. The dead.

When I got out of the car, the police everywhere … They took us to the hospital and then arrested us. One friend was fine, the other was hurt. I got hurt in every possible way and the last one was ‘dead’.

My charges are DUI, evading a piece officer, driving at dangerous speed without a license, a firearm in the car, and 187 murder.

Now I face longer than ever, with a body on my head. Regretting everything. It was a mistake, I will never forget it.

Now the only friends I have are my family. They are helping me get through this.

From my story, all I have to tell you is, “never listen to your homies or your friends because they are not your real friends.” The family is first!

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE HIM?

The second story is gruesome!

A 17-year-old boy, who was a first-rate student and a great golfer, went to a party with his friends and was drinking alcohol and smoking mariwana. After the party he had to go to work. He got into his car feeling high and made another stupid choice. He stopped his car on the highway to smoke another mariwana cigarette. He started his car, started to accelerate, lost control, went off the freeway and hit three trees. Today he is sitting in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the neck down. No more golf. No more fun!

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU WERE HIM?

Another story:

On Saturday, December 21, 2002, I attended the funeral of a 17-year-old boy from Oceanside. He is also the victim of a bad choice, a consequence of thinking: “Nothing will happen to me.”

Taylor Hodgson went to a party and then got into a car, driven by a friend who was at the party. The 22-year-old was allegedly driving drunk. He sped down Highway 78 and lost control, as he entered and exited traffic. The truck struck two other vehicles and rolled, throwing Taylor onto the road. He died four hours later.

Taylor was a guy everyone liked. The funeral was full of colleagues and friends. His family was broken by the tragedy of losing the son and brother they loved. Taylor is no longer alive, to discover her potential and her fun is over! Twenty-two-year-old driver is in jail, now he’s a murderer!

WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR LIFE TO END?

Those who love you would never get over it.

Unfortunately, these incidents are only isolated cases. I see hundreds of children in similar situations. Please be smart. Make the right decisions. Choose not to drink alcohol at all! Do not do drugs! Do not get into a vehicle when someone else is drinking. Make sure you remember!

IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU !!!!!!! MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES !!!!!!!

I love Eva Fry
