September fun and festivals in the Smoky Mountains

Festivals and fun make September an exciting time to visit the Smoky Mountains, especially if you like being outdoors. The sun is still shining, but the weather is starting to cool down, making it the perfect time to enjoy Mother Nature. Just take a look at a sample of what to expect.

Old-fashioned wagon rides

From September 1 to November, enjoy an old-fashioned wagon ride. Step back in time to the days of harvesting the harvest as you ride a tractor-drawn wagon through downtown Gatlinburg and admire the beautiful scenery of the Smoky Mountains. These tours are available for less than $ 5.00 per person and run from 5 to 9 pm, Sunday through Thursday. Register at traffic light n. 6 at Mountain Mall, where coaches depart approximately every 45 minutes. Proceeds benefit United Way.

Dollywood and Bluegrass BBQ

If you love good food and great music, you won’t want to miss the Barbeque and Bluegrass Festival in Dollywood. This festival begins on September 5 and continues through the 28th. There are over 500 free concerts by some of the biggest names in bluegrass like Ricky Scaggs, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, and Riders in the Sky, to name a few. Once you’ve worked up your heels, take a stroll to the BBQ venue in Market Square. There you can buy delicious grilled ribs, juicy chicken or tender pulled pork, as well as all the add-ons that complete your grilled dinner.

Great rod stroke

If you like hot rods, this is the place for you. From September 11-14, Pigeon Forge hosts the Grand Fall Rod Run. Located at The Grand Resort Hotel and Convention Center, this is one of the big three car shows in Pigeon Forge where car enthusiasts come to hear engines revving and tires stripping, as well as take in the incredible sight of these good oldies. .

Taste of autumn

No matter what you like to eat, you are sure to find it at Taste of Autumn. More than 30 of the best restaurants in the Smokies set up stations at the Gatlinburg Convention Center where you can sample their delicious food for a small price. You’ll also enjoy live jazz music and a live auction. Since all proceeds go to the United Way of Sevier County, this is an opportunity to enjoy great food and fun and also to help a worthy cause.

Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival

From September 19 to the end of October, you can watch the area around the Smoky Mountains display its fall decorations and crafts. Stroll through the shops where shopkeepers display crafts that have been made in these mountains for generations and are an important part of the Smokies’ heritage. Whether you are searching or shopping, you will definitely appreciate the workmanship that goes into each one.

Run for the hills

This 10K race cuts through downtown Gatlinburg, hills and all! The Run for the Hills is a licensed race held on September 21. While the view is incredible, with all the ups and downs you have to be a true athlete or a glutton for punishment to participate. The registration fee is $ 20 if received before September 8 and $ 25 after.

September is a fun-filled month in the Smoky Mountains. With so many activities to choose from, you’ll want to make plans now to visit at least once during September.

Fantasy Football 2014 Simulated Draft

When it comes to fantasy football drafts, it always amuses me when people start producing mock drafts long before Labor Day weekend. There are too many unknowns due to injuries, positional battles, and stupidity to be worth it. I guess if you’re in a league that requires you to write weeks before the season starts, it makes sense, but even that makes me laugh. If it’s a league for fun, go crazy. However, most of us have a personal financial interest in how our team is doing and I’m sure I don’t want any of my best teams to waste time due to an off-field injury or an off-field injury. It’s quite interesting to see the change in average draft position in the weeks leading up to the season. Players like Steven Ridley and Cam Newton have crashed and players like James White and Emmanuel Sanders have exploded.

Mock drafts can vary greatly depending on the scoring system, especially when using receiving points, and whether or not the league is a Rework League or a Dynasty League. For our purposes, this is a standard fantasy football league scoring system for a newly drafted league.

This assumes an initial roster of 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 D / ST. Points would be awarded for the following actions:

  • Passing: 1 point for every 25 yards, 4 points for every touchdown and -2 for every interception.
  • Running: 1 point for every 10 yards, 6 points for every touchdown and -2 for every loose ball
  • Receiving: 1 point for every 10 yards, 6 points for every Touchdown
  • Kicking: 3 points for each field goal made and 1 point for each successful extra point
  • Defense: 2 points for each fumble recovered, 2 points for each interception, 1 point for each sack, 2 points for a shutout and 2 points for a safety

Round 1

1 Jamaal Charles, KC

2 LeSean McCoy, PHI

3 Adrian Peterson, MIN

4 Eddie Lacy, GB

5 Matt Forte, CHI

6 Jimmy Graham, NO

7 Marshawn Lynch, MAR

8 Calvin Johnson, DET

9 Demaryius Thomas, DEN

10 Montee Ball, DEN

11 AJ Green, CIN

12 Peyton Manning, DEN

Assessment: Having a top 5 pick is easy as you could defend any of those running backs. After that, he’s a bit sketchy, as there’s great depth at tight end and quarterback this year. It’s good to think of a team with Jimmy Graham or Peyton Manning, but I’d rather have a running back to start my team and build around.

Round 2

13 DeMarco Murray, DAL

14 Brandon Marshall, CHI

15 Dez Bryant, DAL

16 Andre Ellington, ARI

17 Zac Stacy, STL

18 Drew Brees, NO

19 Giovani Bernard, CIN

20 Alshon Jeffery, CHI

21 Doug Martin, Executive Vice President

22 Le’Veon Bell, PIT

23 Aaron Rodgers, GB

24 Ryan Mathews, SD

Assessment: Decision time in round 2. Should I go traditional and get a second RB or is it better to get a good RB and a good WR? I think there is a lot of depth to WR this year and I recommend that you get 2 solid RBs.

Round 3

July 25 Jones, ATL

26 Jordy Nelson, GB

27 Antonio Brown, PIT

28 Randall Cobb, GB

29 Alfred Morris, FUE

30 Arian Foster, HOU

31 Julius Thomas, DEN

32 Andrew Luck, IND

33 Rashad Jennings, New York

34 Toby Gerhart, JAC

35 Victor Cruz, New York

36 Reggie Bush, DET

Assessment: If you’ve already grabbed two RBs, you definitely need to grab a WR in round 3. If you split them, I recommend taking that second RB. If you grabbed Peyton, Brees, or Rodgers, you have to balance your team in this round as the levels start to drop from here.

Round 4

37 Vincent Jackson, VG

38 Rob Gronkowski, NE

39 Andre Johnson, HOU

40 Matthew Stafford, DET

41 Keenan Allen, SD

42 Frank Gore, SF

43 DeSean Jackson, FUE

44 Michael Floyd, ARI

45 Pierre Garcon, was

46 Roddy White, ATL

47 Chris Johnson, New York

48 TY Hilton, IND

Assessment: Questions abound in round 4 due to direct or indirect health concerns. Stafford should have a great year, but I really like Kennan Allen in this place.

Round 5

49 Larry Fitzgerald, ARI

50 Ben Tate, CLE

51 Torrey Smith, BAL

52 Steven Jackson, ATL

53 CJ Spiller, BUF

54 Jordan Cameron, CLE

55 Cordarrelle Patterson, MIN

56 Reggie Wayne, IND

57 Fred Jackson, BUF

58 Shane Vereen, NE

59 Marques Colston, NO

60 Percy Harvin, MAR

Assessment: If you thought Round 4 was difficult, Round 5 is even more so. There are a handful of very high potential players here, like Cordarrelle and CJ, but I really like Cameron as Cleveland has the worst WRs ever lined up in professional football.

Round 6

61 Julian Edelman, NE

62 Jeremy Maclin, PHI

63 Eric Decker, New York

64 Colin Kaepernick, SF

65 Vernon Davis, SF

66 Wes Welker, DEN

67 Emmanuel Sanders, DEN

68 Trent Richardson, IND

69 Tom Brady, NE

70 Joique Bell, DET

71 Golden Tate, DET

72 Bishop Sankey, TEN

Assessment: Tom Brady in round 6? It’s been a long time since we’ve seen anything like this. I still think what would happen and catch Ryan, Rivers or Cutler in one of the next 3 rounds. I like Sanders if I want a WR here or Bell if I want a RB. He had big numbers last year, even in a split role. That role should continue this year with him making the red zone work. Also, Reggie is not Mr. Durability.

Round 7

73 Matt Ryan, ATL

74 Jason Witten, DAL

75 Mike Wallace, MIA

76 Kendall Wright, TEN

77 Terrance Williams, DAL

78 Michael Crabtree, SF

79 Ray Rice, BAL

80 Maurice Jones-Drew, OAK

81 Knowshon Moreno, MIA

82 Riley Cooper, PHI

83 Darren McFadden, OAK

84 Nick Foles, PHI

Assessment: There is a lot of value in this round. I like that Mike Wallace has a solid year with Tannehill growing in his position. Matty Ice has her weapons back. Moreno should take over RB’s number one spot in a few weeks. Cooper, Williams and Wright will have solid numbers. Enjoy this round as it won’t be that easy for a few rounds.

Round 8

85 Sammy Watkins, BUF

86 Russell Wilson, SEA

87 Stevan Ridley, NE

88 Pierre Thomas, NO

89 Tony Romo, DAL

90 Lamar Miller, MIA

91 Cam Newton, CAR

92 Brandin Cooks, NO

93 Cecil Shorts, JAC

94 Philip Rivers, SD

95 Dwayne Bowe, KC

96 Terrance West, CLE

Assessment: LOADS of questionable selections here. If you need a quarterback, Rivers is a must now. I trust Cooks and West as rookies more than Watkins, but I would leave Cam and Ridley alone here. Bowe could be a valuable pick here, as KC has no receivers beyond him.

Round 9

97 Dennis Pitta, BAL

98 Carlos Hyde, SF

99 DeAndre Hopkins, HOU

100 Kyle Rudolph, MIN

101 Jay Cutler, CHI

102 Robert Griffin III, FUE

103 Shonn Greene, TEN

104 Bernard Pierce, BAL

105 Kelvin Benjamin, CAR

106 Greg Olsen, CAR

107 Darren Sproles, PHI

108 Anquan Boldin, SF

Assessment: This round is a mix of the good and the bad. Cutler’s limit is through the roof this season, but the threat of injury is always very high for him. Kyle Rudolph should be a solid pick now, as should Olsen. Many advantages with Benjamin, Pitta and Hopkins.

Round 10

109 Jordan Reed, FUE

110 Jeremy Hill, CIN

111 DeAngelo Williams, CAR

112 Danny Woodhead, SD

113 Hakeem Nicks, IND

114 Justin Hunter, TEN

115 James White, NE

116 Martellus Bennett, CHI

117 Mark Ingram, NO

118 Danny Amendola, NE

119 James Jones, OAK

120 Jonathan Stewart, CAR

Assessment: Stewart, Amendola, and Nicks have tricked me enough to keep me out of all my fantasy football leagues. Hunter, White, Jones and Ingram have a lot of value in this round. Hill should see a nice split of action with Bernard, as do Reed and Bennett on teams with plenty of other options.

Round 11

121 Greg Jennings, MIN

122 Christine Michael, SEA

123 Marqise Lee, JAC

124 Ben Roethlisberger, PIT

125 Zach Ertz, PHI

126 Tre Mason, STL

127 Jordan Matthews, PHI

128 Mike Evans, VG

129 Markus Wheaton, PIT

130 Donald Brown, SD

131 LeGarrette Blount, PIT

132 Steve Smith, BAL

Assessment: Just when you would expect to be dragging the bottom of the barrel, you will find happiness in many WR options here. This round epitomizes why I emphasized a career in RB at the beginning. Lee and Matthews could end up being the top receiving options on their respective teams. Wheaton, Smith, and Evans can also get significant numbers, as can Ertz at the TE position.

Round 12

133 Devonta Freeman, ATL

134 Ladarius Green, SD

135 Andy Dalton, CIN

136 Andre Williams, New York

137 James Starks, GB

138 Knile Davis, KC

139 Khiry Robinson, NO

140 Rueben Randle, New York

141 CJ Anderson, DEN

142 Carson Palmer, ARI

143 Tavon Austin, STL

144 Seattle Seahawks D / ST

Assessment: Hello wives! It’s always a good idea to back up your studs’ RBs if they have talented backups. That’s the majority of this round. There is always a team that considers itself smart in choosing the best defense before the inevitable late streak. I guess I can handle that with a backup QB.

Round 13

145 Brandon LaFell, NE

146 Josh McCown, TB

147 Ronnie Hillman, DEN

148 Doug Baldwin, SEA

149 Joe Flacco, BAL

150 Jerricho Cotchery, CAR

151 Charles Clay, MIA

152 Kenny Stills, NO

153 Mike James, VG

154 Mike Williams, BUF

164 San Francisco 49ers D / ST

155 Ahmad Bradshaw, IND

156 Ryan Tannehill, MIA

Assessment: As mentioned in Round 11, you can find solid receiving options in these final rounds. The Patriots don’t have an established No. 1 WR and LaFell could easily take on that role. Carolina is starting over at WR and Cotchery has the longest tenure. Seattle showed they believe in Baldwin by giving him a contract to win and Stills showed a good relationship with Brees last season, but you can’t expect consistent production from him.

Round 14

157 Brian Hartline, MIA

158 Mohamed Sanu, CIN

159 Andrew Hawkins, CLE

160 Kenbrell Thompkins, NE

161 Carolina Panthers D / ST

162 Denver Broncos D / ST

163 Lance Dunbar, DAL

165 Antonio Gates, SD

166 Dwayne Allen, IND

167 Robert Woods, BUF

168 Michael Vick, New York

Assessment: Bottom of the barrel, we find you here. Hartline, Thompkins and Hawkins are well worth a flyer here if you have room for an additional WR. Other than that, take a backup or think about diving into the fender pool.

Round 15

169 Stephen Gostkowski, NE

170 New England Patriots D / ST

171 Houston Texans D / ST

172 Cincinnati Bengals D / ST

173 Arizona Cardinals D / ST

174 Dri Archer, PIT

175 Matt Bryant, ATL

176 Tampa Bay Buccaneers D / ST

177 Buffalo Bills D / ST

178 Kansas City D / ST Chiefs

179 Justin Tucker, BAL

180 St. Louis Rams D / ST

Assessment: Get a defense. They are pretty thin this year.

Round 16

181 Steven Hauschka, SEA

182 Chris Ivory, New York

183 Mason Crosby, GB

184 Phil Dawson, SF

185 Adam Vinatieri, IND

186 Baltimore Ravens D / ST

187 Nick Folk, New York

188 Robbie Gould, CHI

189 Dan Bailey, DAL

190 Shayne Graham, NO

191 Alex Henery, PHI

192 Nick Novak, SD

Assessment: Get a kicker. You need to start one.

How to create automatic blogs and avoid getting banned from Google

Autoblogging is a common practice today for most internet marketers, from beginners to masters.

However, not everyone does it correctly. If you tried to auto blog and then got kicked out of the index by Google or other search engines, you know you did something wrong. Not only that, but you can even risk having your AdSense account banned, just because of an automated blog.

And yet, you wonder why there are so many other autoblogs that still perform well in search engines. You know this because you have found many competing websites in your niche and when you visit those websites you immediately see that they are nothing more than autoblogs.

So how do you create an autoblog, which is not banned in search engines and has fresh content about your niche every day?

First, you must have the right tools to do so. Using WordPress as a CMS for your website is the right choice. Google loves WordPress blogs, which offer a lot of new content every day.

Another thing that Google supposedly loves is original content. This is partially true. Let me explain this to you. Have you seen all those lyrics websites? They all have the same lyrics for a certain song, and they all work fine on Google and none of them are banned from the index. So the 3 things Google loves are; Fresh content every day, no duplicate content, and lastly a CMS optimized for better crawling and indexing (WordPress works well for this purpose).

So what you need is software to automatically blog your blog posts and add unique content. You don’t need to be a PHP programmer, all you need is easy-to-use software that does it. Let me introduce you to WP turbo.

WP Turbo is a WordPress plugin that makes everything we discussed above possible. There are many possibilities for affiliate marketers, which we will not discuss here. Let’s take a look from an SEO point of view.

Using WP turbo you will get hundreds of posts from different sources, using public API. The best part is that you can mix these fonts so that the content of each post appears unique. There is no problem with the duplicate content problem.

If you want to blog about Jennifer Lopez, you can create unique content using WP turbo. Let’s say you create a campaign that automatically takes JL videos from YouTube and publishes them at certain time periods. Also, you can add some tweets about JL to the same posts. This is all done automatically, you have to set the plugin once and the posts are done automatically every day, no hassle with Twitter. Remember to mix as many fonts as you can. About JL you can use other WP turbo modules to retrieve content from eBay, iTunes, Flickr, IMBD, Yahoo news, etc. At the end you will have a blog about Jennifer Lopez that has “everything” about her; videos, news, photos, items to buy (like their songs), etc.

Remember that you can’t get banned from Google just because you have a YouTube video on your blog or a link that sends visitors to iTunes.

So now you can see the true potential of WP turbo. Using other plugins that only post using another website’s RSS feed is not recommended. By doing so, what you will have is just another copy of someone else’s website, and your website will most likely be banned.

The big money in autoblogs lies in the power of numbers. The more autoblogs you create, the greater the profit. Since creating specialized websites with WP Turbo only takes a few minutes, creating dozens or hundreds of websites requires little effort.

Business

Could you be setting your business plan for failure?

David E. Gumpert, author of Burn Your Business Plan, often tells the story of how he and his partner failed to raise money after submitting their business plan to venture capitalists and meeting with several others to make presentations. Disappointed with the fruits of their labor, they considered quitting their company in 1995. Fortunately, on the advice of their board of advisers, they chose to divert their time from massaging the business plan to making sales. The funding, they were told, would come later.

Turns out they sold enough to stay afloat until 1996. In 1997, sales didn’t grow as fast as they expected, so they decided to seek financing again. This time around, they hoped that positive results would be easier to get – after all, they were now pretty well established. However, the board told them to go out there and promote their business and make more sales.

If at first you are not successful …

Instead, Gumpert and his partner decided to dust off their old business plan, spend many hours rewriting and updating the plan, and once again embarking on the search for financing. And, once again, they were rejected. How could this be? In the late 1990s, it seemed like every internet-related startup in the world was getting funding. In fact, according to the MoneyTree Survey, sponsored by Price Waterhouse Coopers, Venture Economics, and the National Venture Capital Association, the amount of venture capital – $ 7.7 billion in 1995 – had risen to $ 16.4 billion. in 1997.

However, the failed financing left Gumpert and his partner with two difficult options at this stage: find ways to grow the business without funding, or stop. They took the first option. They also hired public relations professionals and had several of their most successful corporate clients featured in industry trade and trade publications, with their agency cited as the key force behind their clients’ success. This advertisement set the agency’s phones ringing with new prospects, several of whom turned into upsells.

As the business grew, they were on guard to monitor their expenses and aggressively collect accounts receivable. By 1999, they were operating profitably with $ 2 million in annual revenue, with nearly 20 employees. Additionally, the amount of venture capital invested domestically had skyrocketed to a staggering $ 55.5 billion. But, Gumpert and his partner paid little attention to this; their interest in external financing had decreased significantly. (By 2000, the availability of venture capital peaked at $ 85.5 billion.)

The power of advertising

As Gumpert and his partner carried their success to 1998 and 1999, their promotional efforts eventually attracted the attention of a public company seeking the expertise they offered in developing and managing online content. In December 1999, this company acquired Gumpert’s company, NetMarquee. To Gumpert’s surprise, the acquirer never asked to see his business plan; I just wanted to see your financial projections in several different scenarios.

In recounting his financial experience, Gumpert makes two points: First, even in good times, the venture capital route is closed to the vast majority of companies who seek it. While it might have seemed back then that almost every company that applied for was receiving venture capital, the reality is that more carefully crafted business plans are flatly rejected by venture capitalists. Second, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish without the funding you think you so desperately need to avoid failure.

The truth is, a business plan alone is unlikely to attract funding unless it is part of an overall marketing strategy.

Four tools to help market your business plan to investors

Famous motivational speaker Jim Rohn says there are three steps to successful communication: “Have something good to say, say it well, and say it often.” These three steps form the basis of the Business Plan Secrets Revealed manual. They are essential to market your business plan with the intention of attracting investors and selling your business plan to them. Here are four tools to help you “say it often” so you can attract investors and sell your business plan to them.

One, a concise, well-written 25-page business memo or “business plan” that builds a case for separating your company from the competition. You don’t need a two-inch thick business plan. Long-standing plans are often aimless; Instead of building a case that leads investors to decide whether the business is the right investment for them, they “fire” in the hope that some of the shots will work.

Two, an effective elevator pitch, a 60-second verbal speech, direct to your business, that communicates to your customers and investors what you do in an exciting and engaging way. The ability to separate your business from your competitors and gain an investor’s interest in the short time it takes to ride an elevator is critical.

Three, an investor relations website to build credibility and help investors quickly get the information they need, when they need it. Of all the media available, the Web is especially important. It’s fast and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With it, you can capture leads and automatically keep in touch with those who are interested in your business.

Finally, press releases to help you spread the word. A press release is the basic tool for getting media attention. The public’s desire for interesting and relevant news remains strong, as does the importance of carefully selecting relevant target audiences. You are dealing with much more skepticism from the public now than in the past, which makes the evidence and objectivity in your press release of the utmost importance.

The process of raising money and attracting investors is not easy. If it were, all business ideas would be funded. You should use all the tools that are available to you and begin to consider this process as a marketing process backed by solid and verifiable evidence. You just don’t know when the plums will ripen, investors, on the tree, ready to invest. But, you do know that if you do everything you can to care for the tree (water it, fertilize it, etc.), it will eventually bear fruit, raise money for your business.

Home Kitchen

The Benefits of Under Cabinet Lighting in Your Kitchen

Installing under cabinet lighting in your kitchen has many benefits. Under cabinet lighting uses low wattage bulbs to make tasks easier and safer by delivering directed light to a specific area. Under cabinet lighting can provide two functions in your kitchen. It can provide countertop food prep task lighting and accent lighting to highlight countertops and backsplash. Although under furniture is also useful in workshops, garages and basements, here we will focus on the kitchen.

Benefits of under cabinet kitchen lighting

1) Energy Saving – You can save energy by eliminating the need to light up an entire room.

2) Variety of bulbs – Energy saving bulbs are most often used for under cabinet lighting fixtures. Common under-cabinet bulbs include fluorescent, halogen, LED, and xenon bulbs.

3) Eliminate Shadows – Under-cabinet lighting reduces shadows created by wall cabinets and ceiling lighting. Proper under-cabinet lighting spacing eliminates dark shadows under countertops. To eliminate shadows, install one light for every 20 to 30 inches of counter space.

4) Add unique style and distinction to your kitchen – Many kitchen countertops are made from granite or marble. A kitchen under cabinet light can make your stone countertops shine.

5) Simple Installation – Many DIYers can install under cabinet lighting in just a few hours.

Types of under cabinet lighting: strip lights, disco lights, linear lights

Light Strips – These are rectangular shaped fixtures and work well with fluorescent bulbs. They are ideal for providing diffuse light to the kitchen.

Puck Lights – These are round fixtures that get their name from their round size and appearance, similar to that of a hockey puck. These lights are best for highlighting countertops and backsplashes. Disco lights work with LED, halogen and xenon bulbs. The disco lights can be mounted in different positions to point downward or toward the splash guard. As an alternative, disco lights can generally be recessed into cabinets.

Linear lights – Linear lights are often used with fluorescent bulbs. They are the most popular types of fluorescent lighting under kitchen cabinets because they are thin, allowing them to be hidden behind the cabinet trim.

Types of bulbs used: fluorescent, halogen, incandescent, LED and xenon.

Fluorescent Bulbs – Commonly used for under cabinet lighting fixtures. They create a bright work area by providing clear light. The downside to fluorescent lights is that they cannot be dimmed and will sometimes flicker.

Halogen Bulbs – Homeowners looking for bright white light choose halogen bulbs. The light emitted by a halogen bulb is warm and bright and provides a good amount of light under the cabinet. These bulbs have an extremely long life, up to 2000 hours.

Incandescent bulbs – These bulbs are the least popular under the cabinet bulb type, as their light is not very bright. Incandescent bulbs are not energy efficient and emit heat. They last half as long as halogen bulbs.

LED bulbs – These bulbs are becoming a more popular choice with homeowners as they are more often available at lighting and home improvement stores. LED bulbs are available in different colors and provide homeowners with the ability to create unique decorative features. LED bulbs are the best for disco lighting.

Xenon Bulbs – These bulbs have the longest lifespan of all the under cabinet bulb options. They can last up to 10,000 hours. They are energy efficient since they do not generate heat.

Tips for Successful Under Cabinet Lighting

o A 12-inch light fixture or 3 disc light fixture must be installed for every 4 feet. of allowance.

o Install lights toward the front of the cabinet to better highlight the surface.

Interesting Facts About Lamborghini

1. Automobili Lamborghini SpA is an Italian automobile company that manufactures luxury and high-end sports cars. It is based in Sant’Agata Bolognese, near the city of Bologna, Italy. Lamborghini was founded by an Italian engineer Feruccio in 1963.

2. Automobili Lamborghini SpA arose as a result of the competition between Feruccio Lamborghini and Enzo Ferrari (from Ferrari cars), who at that time was already known as a famous sports car manufacturer. Feruccio Lamborghini himself was an accomplished engineer; He was the owner and director of a successful company that produced agricultural machinery. Feruccio loved sports cars and owned a Ferrari 250 GT. It is rumored that two major manufacturers had a conflict after Lamborghini personally approached Enzo Ferrari due to the broken clutch on his Ferrari 250 GT. The irascible Enzo is believed to have recommended to Feruccio that he deal exclusively with tractors and not even touch a sports car. Feruccio Lamborghini took it as a challenge and resolved to use his assets, experience and passion to found a company capable of going head-to-head with Ferrari.

3. This may come as a surprise to some of you, but Lamborghini never entered any major motorsport competition. According to the will of Feruccio Lamborghini, his company stayed away from racing, because the famous Italian engineer always believed that motorsports were a great waste of time and resources.

4. One thing Lamborgini has always been known for is its top-notch design. Some of the best professionals in the industry, including Franco Scaglione, Touring, Zagato, Mario Marazzi, Bertone, ItalDesign, and Marcello Gandini, worked on its visual design.

5. People often think of high-performance, luxury touring cars every time someone mentions the Lamborghini name. However, the Italian automaker has created some unusual models. Feruccio Lamborghini had extensive experience in the production of tractors, so it seemed natural to him to try to design a car with high off-road capabilities. Lamborghini LM002 was the first SUV built by the Italian car manufacturer. Combining speed and luxury with exceptional off-road capabilities, the Lamborghini LM002 was in many ways far ahead of its time. When it comes to comfort and ability to cross rough terrain, only Land Rover could compete with the LM002. Unfortunately, the car market was not ready for the new luxury SUV. Therefore, despite orders from the Saudi and Libyan armed forces, Lamborghini sold only 301 vehicles.

6. The Italian automaker launched its first production model in 1963. With a top speed of 280 km / h, the Lamborghini 350GTV was a leader among production cars of its time.

7. The Italian company uses a very distinctive naming convention for its car models. Feruccio Lamborghini was a great fan of Spanish bullfighting. In 1963 he visited the Miura cattle farm in Seville. It was owned by Don Eduardo Miura Fernández, one of the most famous fighting bull breeders in Spain. This visit had a strong influence on the Italian industrialist. In fact, he was so impressed by the traditional art of bullfighting that he made the decision to name all of his new sports cars after famous fighting bulls. Traditionally in the Spanish bullfight, bulls are given life that manage to beat a bullfighter, and their names are forever inscribed in the history of this sport. Ferruccio Lamborghini was convinced that the name of a fighting bull will emphasize the untamed nature of sports cars created under the Lamborghini brand. By the way, Ferruccio Lamborghini himself was also a bull in a sense, as his zodiac sign was Taurus. (He was born on April 28, 1916).

8. The first model to be presented to the world under the name “bullish” was the Lamborghini Miura. The sports car debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966. It was warmly received by the public; however, onlookers were somewhat confused, as they were not allowed to open the hood. This was not a coincidence – there was simply no engine under it! Since the engine was still being designed, the prototype was sent to the Geneva Motor Show with a ballast rather than an engine under the hood. Finally, Miura proved to be a very good car.

9. Lamborghini Countach was produced by the Italian company for 16 years (from 1974 to 1990). Notably, this sports car is one of the few Lamborghini models, with a name that has nothing to do with bullfighting and bullfighting. The word “countach” comes from the Piedmontese language, spoken in a region of Piedmont in northwestern Italy. It is an expression of enthusiasm or amazement and can be translated as “Heavens!” According to legend, Nuccio Bertone himself made such an exclamation when he saw the first sketches of the future supercar.

10. The Lamborghini story was not always a success story. In 1987, the American car giant Chrysler practically saved it from oblivion by acquiring it. The same year, the Italian carmaker presented a peculiar concept car under the name Portofino. It was a guillotine-style four-door sedan, powered by a rear-mounted 3.5-liter engine. Although it remained only a prototype, its image and design were later embodied in many Chrysler automobiles.

11. In 1994, Lamborghini was acquired by an Indonesian investment group. It was a period of uncertainty for the Italian brand. The German car giant Volkswagen saved the famous car manufacturer. Since 1998, Volkswagen has controlled Lamborghini through its Audi subdivision. Without a doubt, this was a mutually beneficial union for both companies.

12. The design of the modern Lamborghini is unusual even for supercars. The steel cut body style, which became the signature of most Lamborghini models, makes it similar to fighter jets. Designer Filippo Perini admitted that he was inspired by military aviation. He was particularly impressed by the American B-2 and F-22 planes while working on the Lamborghini Aventador.

13. It turned out that the powerful Lamborghini V12 engine is perfect for speedboats and supercars. This technical symbiosis is not common in the automotive industry. The luxury boat Riva Aquarama became one of the market leaders thanks to the high performance and versatility of the incredible Lamborghini V12 engine.

14. Interestingly, Lamborghini cars are used by the police in the United Arab Emirates and Italy. It makes sense if you think about it; Nothing can distract criminals and attract tourists like the fastest police car in the world!

15. As we have already mentioned, Feruccio Lamborghini neglected motoring and tried to stay away from it. However, the Italian automaker is reviewing this strict policy, as today it is a stumbling block for a automaker that specializes in supercars to ignore motorsports in its entirety. Today the company has a notable presence in the world of motorsports. The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo is an example of a successful collaboration between the two legendary brands. Automobili Lamborghini SpA and Swiss watchmaker Blancpain teamed up to launch this prestigious international motorsports series. In 2009, the Swiss company even presented a special watch, dedicated to this one-brand championship.

16. This comes as no surprise that the Lamborghini brand has some of the most impressive achievements in the automotive world. The last was the speed record of 384 km / h set by the Lamborghini Huracan during the half-mile race.

17. Lamborghini has a very long and fruitful relationship with the Italian wheel manufacturer PIRELLI. From day one, PIRELLI tires were used on all Lamborghini vehicles. The Italian automaker even created the special version of the Lamborghini AVENTADOR, dedicated to PIRELLI.

18. Lamborghini AVENTADOR has a 700-4 700 LP designation where “700” means 700 h / p engine and “4” for four wheel drive.

19. Lamborghini is partly responsible for the rise of the well-known car brand Pagani. The founder of Pagani Automobili SpA, Horacio Pagani, had worked as an engineer at Lamborghini until he quit due to his inability to use his own ideas. In 1988, the famous Argentine builder, eager to put his talent as a designer to use and make his own product, created a new company Pagani Automobili SpA

20. Today, Lamborghini supercars are powered by V8 or V12 engines. The ratio between those two types of motors is roughly 3: 1.

The ABCs of Technical Writing: 4 Features Technical Writers Should Know

Writing a technical report is often a real challenge for many technical professionals. Research, research, or design is the reason you do what you love to do … but then you have to write a report. And that has the potential to be the weak link. But there are some characteristics of technical writing that are essential, whatever your field or organization. I like to remember them as the ABCs of technical writing: precision, brevity, clarity, and simplicity.

  1. Precision: accurate reports of your findings; accurate presentation of the facts; accurate representation of your findings, according to the methods you have used. Be sure to clearly indicate where you have expressed an opinion, rather than a certain result of your research. Whenever possible, provide specific information rather than generalizations.
  2. Brevity: Try to keep the document as short as possible; Readers short on time will appreciate it. Consider placing supporting and background information in an appendix, footnote, or endnote reference. As much as possible, keep sentences short (15-20 words works well for most readers), with only one idea expressed in each sentence.
  3. ClarityUse familiar vocabulary and constructions (make sure you have thought about who will read your report and are prepared to explain potentially unfamiliar words, perhaps as a glossary, footnote, or endnote). Be consistent with your terminology, abbreviations, and presentation of figures, tables, illustrations, etc. Consider using tables, figures, graphs, illustrations to prove your point … as they say ‘they’, a picture saves a thousand words. Remember that jargon (specialized terms used in your field) excludes those who are not familiar with those words. Use precise words: Your readers don’t appreciate having to decide whether a word has a slightly different meaning in different contexts. One useful technique is to use bullet points or numbered points to express complex ideas (if your discipline or organization allows it).
  4. Simplicity: It’s about expressing your thoughts simply, not simplifying your work. Remind your readers: you want to show them the value of your work, not how good a writer you are. Content is more important than fancy writing. Verbosity makes it difficult for your readers to understand. Make sure you have thought about the logical progression of your report. Plan the structure of your document so that it leads your readers to the conclusion you have reached. The inherent simplicity of using plain English (active voice, reasonable sentence length, clever use of specialized terms, no verbosity) will serve you well.

Familiarize yourself with the ABCs of technical writing. Remember that you are writing so your readers will say, “This is excellent work,” not “This is good writing, but I’m really not sure what it is about.”

Are new Amazon currencies and bitcoins taking over the world?

If Amazon.com were a country, its revenue would make it the 80th largest GDP in the world, and it now has its own currency. Recently, owners of a Kindle Fire got a free deposit of 500 Amazon coins to begin their dual citizenship.

Are Amazon Coins a Virtual Currency Like Bitcoin?

Will people ditch the US dollar in favor of Amazon’s US legal tender? Not; the launch of Amazon Coins is for “thousands of Kindle Fire apps, games, and built-in items on Amazon.com or on your Kindle Fire, “not books or movies. And while purchased coins never expire, promotional coins received for free or as part of another offer only last one year. Meanwhile, the average lifespan of a device Electronic is days is shorter than Napoleon ducking under a pygmy goat.

Unlike Bitcoin, the preferred method of anonymous transactions for drug deals and rare earth magnets disapproved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there is no open exchange market for Amazon Coins. In fact, Amazon says, “the coins cannot be resold, transferred for value, redeemed for cash, or applied to any other account, except to the extent required by law.” Even Second Life Linden Dollars can be exchanged for Bitcoins and then redeemed for cash on one of several Bitcoin exchanges.

Amazon is selling its coins at a discount (500 coins for $ 4.80 up to 10,000 coins for $ 90.00) and that seems like a good deal. With up to a 10% discount, it’s like avoiding the Internet sales tax that may be implemented in the future if Congress has its way. Compare this to Microsoft, which also uses a points system on Xbox Marketplace, but awards only 80 points per dollar. If you’re Microsoft, you give or sell points to buy apps and games, as well as increasing the share in the consumer wallet of other products, such as Skype calls, on which the points can be spent.

It’s all about the app

Google, Apple and Microsoft have their own application distribution systems, and Amazon already has its Kindle hardware platform, why not? Amazon wants to expand its share of the tablet market while pushing e-books and game merchandise, but needs to develop more apps, so like Microsoft’s Xbox Marketplace points system, Amazon Coins serves to incentivize customers. developers to offer Fire versions and share revenue, soften the impact of purchases, as well as get consumers hooked on other offers, such as the rumored Amazon decoder.

Said a reviewer on Amazon: “I can’t see that this coin is good at all. Not only does it hide the true cost of any content or item sold, it refuses to protect the account balance if an unauthorized user seizes any portable device with 1 click enabled “.

By the way, 1 click is the only way to buy Amazon Coins. There is no add to cart option and think about it, and the coins are non-refundable. As for hiding the real cost, it is true. 10,000 points is easier to spend than $ 90.00US, because it’s not real money, right? In that case, I’d like to share my Amazon Wish List with you, because a birthday is coming up and it’s just points after all.

Will you really lose 23 pounds in a 3 week period?

The three week diet system has gained popularity in a very short time. This program was only developed in 2015. It is actually a weight reduction plan that aims to experience more positive results very quickly. This healthy eating plan is done, this means that you lose weight quickly, between 12 and 20 pounds in just a period of 3 weeks, as long as you follow the diet to the letter.

Most people who start a healthy eating plan are basically unable to achieve their desired goal as they give up before discovering the results they want. Diets that aim to reduce weight by two pounds per week are all thorough, but my motivation, like my willpower, wanes fairly quickly unless you have a compelling chance of hitting your weight loss goals. .

I am not alone. Dieting for weeks with limited results demotivates people and these people tend to stop trying. This was the reason why nutritionist Brian Flatt developed the Three Week Diet; a system that made your body lose body fat quickly and accelerate weight loss.

Eliminating any extra fat and then maintaining the momentum to sustain your weight can be difficult, the three week diet manual doesn’t exclusively tell you what to do for 21 days, it also advises what to do with the three week period. weeks considering the diet to maintain his new weight.

So how does the weekly diet work? The main overwhelming 3-week holistic diet plan is the Healthiest Eating Plan, which consists of 4 different phases.

Phrase 1 it was the hardest thing for me. It lasted a week and that was the phase where I lost the most weight by far. I was 9 pounds lighter by the end of the week.

Phase 2 it was almost 1 day however I also lost a pound this time

Phase 3 It was from the 9th to the 11th. This was quite unusual and I lost another 3 pounds.

Phase 4 it was when it comes to the remaining days, that is, 12 to 21. The main goal associated with this 9-day phase would be to continue losing weight and return to a better “normal” diet. I got to lose another four pounds at the end of the phase. So less drastic, but effective nonetheless.

Like many weight loss diet plans, it has been both a diet and an exercise program. The movement plan is made up of a daily walk (not too strenuous!) And an optional fat-boosting workout.

Three Week Healthy Eating Plan Phase 1 in Action

There is no way to escape from that. Phase 1 was difficult. It is a 3 meals a day product of any crash diet. It is very restrictive in the different types of food and in the cooking methods that you could eat freely. Fortunately, I had included unlimited amounts of some vegetables, so I was able to submit to them beyond the prescribed volumes of meat and fish.

I weighed myself every day and it was really motivating to have access to the needle onto the sliding scale. It was finally a reliable job. I can’t deny that I was hungry and a bit cranky until I started drinking coffee again!

I also implement exercises. Again, it wasn’t easy, but marking the days separately, really understanding that it was finally only for a short time made a difference.

At the end of phase 1, he was overjoyed to see that he had broken all previous records and lost a whole 9 pounds. I remember phase 1 of your eating routine, it seemed almost impossible that I could do it emotionally for the entire week without cheating, and that’s okay, I cheated few. But after getting through the initial week, I soon felt quite euphoric and much slimmer.

Phase 2

Phase 2 is basically a one-day fast. Following the restriction from a given previous week, it seemed like this was difficult, but honestly, I was surprised to find that this was one of the easiest days of the entire program. In my opinion, following the week before to the letter had opened me up to success. And again, I was delighted to become a pound lighter the next morning.

Seriously, I would say that every time you buy the three week diet regimen book, don’t skip the fasting phase. There really is a rationale for the way a nutritious diet is built and, to my surprise, it certainly works.

Phase 3

This phase lasts 4 days and is actually undoubtedly the most unusual and counterintuitive. So much in fact that we started to investigate it myself so you can be sure that I was doing the right thing. Fortunately, I found it wasn’t that far-fetched when I thought about it either, and indeed there was some solid science behind this phase considering the plan.

I went to the trouble to find this phase quite challenging as it was the first one where I was asked to calculate the calories I was eating. I’ve found it’s pretty easy to get calorie values off the internet for just about any food you can think of and then it’s just a concern to use scales (more accurate than cup measurements) to make sure your portion sizes are correct.

I didn’t lose as much weight when I was expecting in this phase, but I think it was considering that I didn’t start weighing things for the third day that I discovered that my previous estimates of exactly how much I should eat were far from base.

Still another phase, another 1.5 pounds and also surely would have been more if I had planned it correctly.

Phase 4 – The last countdown. Phase 4 is the longest and lasts 9 days. It involves a gradual return to a healthier nutritional diet than normal. Specifically, the number of calories you consume daily during this phase is based on your whole body body mass index or BMI. There is a section in the manual that explains how to calculate this from body fat and height and then how you can work out what you need to consume according to the result.

I continued to take myself into account each day and the pounds continued to drop, albeit at a slightly slower rate. However, I was pleased to return a highly competent normally balanced diet in which food resources were not expressly prohibited (unless I had skipped a manual page.

I noticed that my belly fat was gradually disappearing and my jeans were less tight, even after washing! My waist had shrunk 2 inches and I had the ability to tighten my belt with 3 additional holes.

Until the end of the phase, he was only four pounds heavier.

Is that rapid weight loss program successful?

Absolutely. I followed the nutritional routine for 3 weeks and, aside from a few cheating, I lost a total of 14.5 pounds. I went to the trouble of doing most of the mandatory exercise but not much of the optional workouts. I found the workouts to be quite difficult, but again I’m not in shape to begin with. Despite being difficult, the level of weight that I lost in its normal relatively short period of time made it a good idea. Surely I could have lost more if I had planned better, exercised countless, and not cheated.

I would have the opportunity to go a couple of weeks without regaining some or all of this weight !! Then re-implement the full diet. The other time, phase 1 was much less complicated: I think my forms were implemented and I did not deliver the coffee now. I didn’t lose as much weight, but I am now 30 pounds lighter than 8 months ago and for the first time I can honestly say that I am satisfied with my appearance.

The double benefit is that currently I know how to maintain my weight and also if I go crazy on vacation and put myself between the few kilos, I am sure that I will be able to lose them again without much effort.

Should police departments be used as revenue generators for cash-strapped municipalities?

It is reasonable to understand that police department traffic control is a necessary function. As painful as it is for the driver who receives a traffic ticket, that same driver, on reflection, would admit that without this traffic control, driving would become extremely dangerous. Many of us, as human beings, need rules and regulations that prevent us from exceeding the safe limits in our driving habits.

Of course, these police patrols must be paid and traffic tickets and court costs have always been a method to help cover the costs of officers, their vehicles, and other expenses. Most citizens would agree that this is a necessary function of local government.

However, as the economy worsens, more and more cities find that they are experiencing massive reductions in their normal taxes and other sources of income. Many of these cities do not find methods to increase their operating income and reduce the growing deficits. Unfortunately, some municipalities are seen to be using their traffic control offices more as revenue generators than their true function, which is traffic control to ensure safety.

As an example, I live in a Michigan city of approximately 100,000 inhabitants. The mayor in a recent newspaper article responded to citizen complaints about the extreme retirement pensions officials were receiving, explaining a reason why these pensions were so high. In this article, the mayor explained that the pensions these officers received were based to some extent on the amount of overtime the officers worked. Furthermore, he claimed that paying overtime was not a burden because these officers were bringing in large amounts of cash needed due to their ticket writing operations.

Think about this for a minute. Officers are offered the opportunity to receive overtime pay for working as a traffic control and writing fines to increase city revenues. Surely if the officer receiving this overtime pay was not writing a sufficient number of traffic tickets to cover the overtime and still be profitable, this practice would soon be discontinued and the officer would lose this additional income.

Does this give these officers the incentive to patrol areas where major traffic violations occur, such as intersections where drivers constantly run red lights or stop signs or perhaps ignore stopped school buses? These application areas can be difficult due to the inability to conceal your patrol vehicle in these locations. While these are the most important fines that need to be written, any officer who planned his shift in these areas could soon find that he was not writing enough violations to cover his expenses, regardless of the positive effects his actions were producing and would soon be removed from the list. Program.

Is this really the proper use of these valuable officers? And any elected official would declare in an almost boastful way that his police officers were getting good income from the citizens without mentioning the reason for the increase in patrols. Are officers directed to high traffic accident areas, busy crosswalk or school areas? Or are they more likely to find places where they are easily concealed and minor traffic violations are easily obtained?

This problem is a reflection of the unreasonable actions of elected officials and is not the fault of officials who must follow instructions and orders from superiors. This practice is shameful and should be discontinued unless it can be shown that these actions increase traffic safety and not just revenue for city coffers.
