BUSINESS MANUFACTURERS

Everyone considers himself a negotiator in some way. Since you were a boy or a girl you were already making a deal. You were exchanging something with a friend or family member because you wanted to make a deal. You made a deal with your parents. If you followed their rules, you exchanged your obedience for a gift or a reward. How many times have you heard Mom or Dad say “Okay son, if you get certain grades on your report card, I’ll give you $$$. Do you remember those days?

Well, now that you’ve grown up, gone to school, or survived neighborhood tests, you’ve certainly experienced the thrill of being a negotiator. When you reached a certain age, and it varies with everyone, your friends and family told you that you had too much on your plate. Did someone ever tell you that? When I was little, I always heard my cousins or friends tell me, “You have so many projects going on at once, why don’t you just do ONE thing? You never seem to get anything done.”

I bet you’ve heard it more than once. Well, here’s something I want to convey to you. This type of activity is a blessing. Yes, you are blessed and you don’t know it. You see, we all have a sixth sense. It works like this. Remember when you were young and mom was in another room? I couldn’t see you through the walls, but I was yelling “Tommy, get out of your daddy’s drawer.” How did he know you were poking around in daddy’s drawer? It was his sixth sense. The Good Lord gave all moms a sixth sense. How else could they be so protective? You do not believe me? What about grandma when she found out when you were in trouble? You could never lie to him when you came home because his sixth sense tasted different.

We all have a sixth sense. Some people realize and use it and others do not know it and go through life without using it. This is how your sixth sense works as a negotiator. Many times you have projects to do or business to do. They are in your mind or organized on your computer. Most of use never organize our thoughts. So, we lose some great ideas.

Have you ever driven your car, had an idea that was tremendous BUT forgot it? Try to remember it and you won’t be able to. So now we have too much on your plate and your sixth sense again. Please don’t think this is a layman’s psychology lesson. This is an example of the things that very successful people have done over the years and we marvel at their ability to make things happen.

Do we call these people dreamers, visionaries, negotiators, crazy, mentally unbalanced or what? I call them “negotiators.” You are a negotiator but you don’t know it. This is what happens to negotiators. Yes, they have a lot of things on their plate. Yes, they hear their friends tell them to do one thing and then continue until they have a clean slate.

Well, if you’re like me and you’re one of those people who seem to have so much to do, this is what happens to me and other people I know. When you go to bed at night you have something on your mind that makes you get up and go to your computer or desk. Suddenly, your sixth sense tells you that if you take project n. 4 and places it with project no. 17 and then combines them with project no. 22, has recognized that each individual project has something in common with the others. You and your sixth sense have developed these projects. Some refer to the sixth sense as the subconscious mind, but I don’t have the qualifications of a “psychiatrist” to develop that. I just know that sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, go to my computer, and make deals. Then I go back to bed and sleep like a baby. Yes, I am also a dreamer, wacko, negotiator or whatever you want to call me, but you are also a negotiator. Just be aware of it and let it happen.

Our mom lived to be one hundred and two years old. I will always remember her telling us that “the body follows the mind.” At the age of one hundred he was still sewing on five different sewing machines at the same time. He was featured in a Pfaff magazine at his age. Are your genes passed on? I don’t know, but I bet if you started listening to your subconscious mind, your life could last longer.

5 possible ramifications of this post-election drama

Historians will look back at this recent, post-election drama / dramaturgy, and probably use it. as an example of what happens, when, a populist politician, who seems to make others, in his party, agree, probably, due to fear, and / or, other personal / political consideration, and / or, self-interest, continue to support their efforts, no matter how unusual and perhaps dangerous they created a potential danger, clear and present, to the best interests of the nation, its citizens, and the sustainable interests of the planet. At least in recent memory, we have never witnessed anything like it in these past 4 years under the administration of President Donald Trump and his apparent enablers and, strangely enough, that period, the strangest to date. , has been what we have witnessed before Election Day and the days after. With that in mind, this article will briefly attempt to consider, examine, review, and discuss what this means and represents, and why it is important.

1. Lose faith in our political system: One of the most worrying aspects of this drama is the risk that many will lose faith / confidence in our political system and, perhaps, even in other components of the so-called American Dream. The consistent, lies, half-truths and apparent distortions, constantly articulated by this President, claims, frauds, etc., without any evidence, create doubts, at least, in the minds of his most fervent supporters. When, according to the numbers, he lost the popular vote, by some 7 million votes, and, of course, lost the Electoral College, he continues to claim victory, and too many, they seem to believe him!

two. Will future voters be listless ?: It appears that voter turnout this year was one of the largest in recent history. However, after the math, from what appears to be anything but a smooth, cooperative transition, will future voters be more listless because they start out feeling their voice / vote doesn’t count?

3. Misuse of the judicial system, for political purposes: Our nation is based on the Balance of Powers, between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of government. Our courts are supposed to be based on the rule of law, rather than politics. Courts should decide on legal and judicial issues, and not get political, etc.! We must demand, in future, that no one is above the law, and the courts must never interfere with free and fair elections!

Four. Use unsupported claims: One of the reasons, almost all the supporters brought in by the Trump campaign, have lost, in court, is simply to make unsubstantiated claims, and the accusations, without evidence, should not be enough to make a defense, especially on a situation so serious and meaningful. affair!

5. Who elects the elected officials ?: Perhaps one of the most dangerous and terrifying behaviors and actions we have witnessed is the suggestion to override / reverse the will of the voters! Who elects these officials and they have forgotten that they are chosen by the will of the people and are supposed to serve and represent all of us, rather than their personal / political agenda and / or their own interest?

Wake up America and make sure we will not witness these behaviors, in the future, by creating stronger protections and regulations / rules (with teeth) than we currently have! We cannot allow an extension of these types of policies!

Numb feet during elliptical exercise

The main benefit of elliptical training is that you can exercise with minimal impact on your knees and joints. During the entire workout, you will not have to lift your feet off a surface and lower them back down. But that’s where some people have trouble with elliptical workouts. Keeping constant pressure on your feet for longer periods of time will cause them to become numb.

Because you don’t have to move your feet or toes while exercising on an elliptical machine, you may start to feel numb within 10 minutes of your workout due to a lack of actual foot movement. This can be a major hassle for some, for others it is never a problem and for most it can be easily fixed.

Some people will experience numbness on an elliptical and others will not, even on the same machine. It all depends on the design of the elliptical and if it was for you. Sometimes stride length doesn’t suit you, and other times you can benefit from jointed pedals.

Numbness may not appear until after you’ve been exercising for a long time, or it may appear early, but you can usually identify the onset of numbness before you feel completely numb. When you start to feel the warning, the tingling signs, or even long before you notice that the numbness may be approaching, you can try moving your feet around a bit to prevent or relieve the numbness.

Prevents elliptical foot numbness

  • try to wiggle your toes
  • reposition your feet on the foot plates
  • Shift your weight onto the balls of your feet or your heels, or rock back and forth between the two
  • Try not to put too much weight on the balls of your feet.
  • loosen your shoelaces or get better arch support shoes
  • change direction by going backwards on an elliptical
  • use an elliptical cross trainer with pivoting (articulated) pedals

If you find that numbness is a problem when using an elliptical machine, try to focus a little more on your feet before the numbness begins. Focusing on preventing your feet from falling asleep before it happens can prevent numbness from settling in. You may be able to prevent the tingling or numbness from starting even if you try to maintain the same amount of pressure between the front and heel of the foot, while mixing in a few minimal movements during exercise.

If numbness is something that comes on at the end of your workout and trying to avoid or alleviate it doesn’t work, try breaking up your workout into shorter periods of time or getting down for an occasional spin from room to room.

I have found that, over time, my experience with the tingling and numbness in my feet during elliptical exercise has focused on one foot. But over time, I have almost been able to eliminate the feeling of numbness from my workouts and apply great focus to ensuring that my elliptical posture and foot position are correct. Over time, you too should be able to see a reduction in the problem, and if it gets progressively worse, you may have another medical problem, such as a neuroma in the foot.

Take-home checklist for your Ragdoll kitten

Whether you’re heading to the next city to find your new Ragdoll kitten or taking your kitty on a plane, here are some items you might want to have before bringing your Ragdoll kitty home.

o Pet Carrier – If your kitty is being shipped, then your kitty will come with one. Otherwise, you’ll want to get one to take your kitty home and use when you go to the vet. Make sure the carriers are big enough for when the kittens grow up; medium size should be fine. If you are looking for protractors for their size, then you will want to get one that weighs around 20 pounds. And this is something that you will have for your pet’s life, so don’t worry too much about spending a lot because you will have it for a long time!

o Towel – Have an absorbent towel cloth for your kitty to rest, and in case of a potty accident, if she is in the carrier for a long time.

o Food: get what your breeder recommends or is feeding them now. If you don’t like your food choices, you will still need to have the food you are used to and then you can switch to what you want later. There are guidelines on how to transition cats to different foods and it is very important to follow them.

o Food and water bowls: I recommend stainless steel or ceramic bowls for easy cleaning. Plastic ones are known to cause acne in cats, so it’s best to avoid them altogether.

o Litter box: You could also get a large one, as your kitty will need it when she grows up.

o Litter – You will want to have the litter that your breeder has been using, so that your kitty will recognize it immediately and want to use the litter box. Of course, you can also transition to another litter later, but when starting out, you want the same type that your breeder uses.

o Cat Toys: Consider buying cat wand toys, catnip toys, and even interactive cat toys; Here are a few to consider:

– Neko flies

– Yeowww! Catnip banana

– Bergan Turbo Scraper

o Scratching Post – Again, see what the breeder has in their home and then see if you can find something similar. This allows your kitty to scratch vertically.

o Scratcher: a horizontal scratcher, like a cardboard one, allows your kitten to scratch downwards as well, rather than upwards (vertically); there are many toys that are multipurpose as they are a scratcher and a toy like the Bergan Turbo Scratcher

o Brushing and Grooming – Many Ragdoll cats do not require a considerable amount of grooming, but it is important from a young age to get your kitten used to being brushed so that by the time she is 19 she doesn’t hate the feeling. her. Grooming your cat also creates an excellent opportunity for the pet owner and cat bonding time.

o Nail clippers: your breeder may have a recommendation on what type of clippers to buy. It is important that they get used to the nail clippers and the sensation of cutting their nails from a young age.

How to Start and Manage a Profitable Bouncy Castle and Play an Inflatable Rental Business

Introduction.

Rental of bouncy castles and other inflatable games for children’s parties, family events, etc. It’s a great home business to work full or part time, and the earnings can be high, as well as the fun element! You own the business and all the equipment, you do not need to pay franchise fees or license fees. For example, operating just three bouncy castles part-time on weekends, at £ 55 ($ US88) per day per gorilla will generate around £ 330 ($ US528) per weekend, or more than £ 1,300 ($ US2, 080) per month. . Assuming expenses of around £ 300 ($ 480) per month, this leaves a profit of over £ 1,000 ($ 1,600)! Not bad for working a few hours!

Children have birthdays every day of the year. In summer and fall, your parents can rent a bouncy castle for the backyard or patio. In winter and spring, parents can hire a community room to host the party and accommodate the janitor.

To run a successful bouncy castle rental business, you don’t need to quit your full-time job and you don’t need a large capital investment either. This article will show newcomers how to successfully start and run a bouncy / inflatable castle rental business from home and avoid the mistakes others have made in the past.

1: Research.

When thinking about starting a bouncy castle rental business, the first thing to do is check all the local newspapers (classifieds sections), yellow pages, and online. See if there is anyone else in your city that advertises a bouncy castle rental business. If you find a regular advertiser, don’t be discouraged, there is still room for you. In most cities, the demand for bouncy castles far exceeds the supply, especially in the summer months. You will have a very clear idea of the competition in your area. In a busy area, rival companies will often pass inquiries and even reservations to other companies when they are too busy to complete the reservation themselves. If you are very lucky, there may be no rivals operating in your area.

2: Necessary equipment.

Below is a list of the equipment you will need to start a bouncy castle rental business:

a) Bouncy castle, rain cover, electric blower and anchor stakes.

b) Ground sheet to protect the bottom of the hammock.

c) Electric extension cable (25 – 30 meters long).

d) RCD circuit breaker. (safety cut-off device).

e) Safety mat to put in front of the castle.

f) A satellite navigator or a local street map of your city and its surroundings.

g) Large A4 size desk agenda to make reservations (1 page per day).

h) Ledger to record income and expenses, etc.

i) Civil Liability Insurance Coverage. We highly recommend a million pounds as an absolute minimum.

j) Safety instructions sheet and client liability exemption form.

k) A bag cart.

From experience, we highly recommend that your first bouncy castle be 12 feet by 12 feet. (3.6 mx 3.6 m) with a 3- or 4-foot (Approx. 1 meter) safety step at the front. This size is by far the most popular with customers and is easily handled and stored, and when inflated it will fit in most backyards and community hallways.

There are many excellent companies that sell bouncy castles. Most new bouncy castles come with a one-year warranty, while some manufacturers offer a two-year warranty. Make sure a minor repair kit is included in the price of your hammock.

If you buy a new one, make sure the inflatable has a certificate saying that it has been manufactured according to the recognized standard which as of January 2010 is: BS EN 14960: 2006 (UK and Europe).

Be very careful when buying used play inflatables, as the seams in the seams wear out over time and can cause bed failure. Take an experienced person with you, who will know what to look for.

3: Where to get customers.

Fortunately, children are born every day of the year, so there is a practically endless supply of potential clients. Most parents prefer to use their own backyards or the local community room to host the party. In addition to private parties for children, there are several other places where you can rent your doorman, for example, playgroups, nurseries, pubs, hotels, extracurricular clubs, shopping malls, school parties, trunk fairs, shows and galas, events of charity. , soccer clubs, barbecues, beach parties, christening parties, wedding receptions, tennis clubs, puppy and scout groups, brownie and guide groups, trade promotions, open houses, etc.

4: How to get reservations.

To get your first hires, I recommend that you do the following: First, tell everyone you know you have young children that you have a bouncy castle for rent. Offer to rent it at a discount, if they are willing to tell all of their friends and family.

Second, you must place an ad in your local newspaper and in your local yellow pages directory. This advertisement will attract inquiries, and as long as your phone form is courteous and helpful, you will get bookings almost automatically.

You should also consider registering for free on Google Maps, so that your potential customers can easily find you when they type the name of their city and the bouncy castle for rent in the Google search engine. (It is a very good idea to have a website, but it is not essential to have one in order for your business to appear on Google Maps for free.

Initial inquiries will take several forms, most callers want to know the cost of hiring a bouncy castle initially, what sizes are available? How many children can use it at the same time? Up to what age group can you use it? When a customer calls, the first question you should always ask yourself is what date is the party on? Second, ask how old the children will be. Armed with this information, you can suggest a bouncy castle size, 90% of the time it will be a 12ft x 12ft bouncer. If the children are very young, that is, 1 to 4 years old, it may be better to suggest a smaller gorilla, or even a bouncy ball (a small semi-closed bouncy castle filled with multi-colored plastic balls).

Also, tell the customer that he can hand over the castle, set it all up, and pick it up at the end of the party. Tell the customer that you will call them a couple of days before to confirm the delivery time, etc. This approach helps build trust with the customer, which should bring them back next time.

Always inform the customer that there is a rain cover included in the price.

5: Promotional items and references.

It is very important to take advantage of your first bouncy castle reservations. For example, a father just rented his bouncy castle for his son’s birthday party. He just took twenty-five kilos or so. But it doesn’t end there. At this party, there will be parents of other children, and these children will also have birthday parties, so you should promote your company as much as possible. The best way to do this is to hand out A5-size brochures. It is also a good idea to print and distribute some business cards.

Always remember that customer satisfaction is the number one priority. You really want your party to be a success and your kids have a lot of fun. That way, parents are more likely to refer you to their friends and hire you over and over again.

6: Security.

Obviously, with children, safety is absolutely paramount. We strongly recommend that you provide your customers with a Safety Instruction Sheet. We have put together some templates for you. You can find a copy of this on the home page of the BIHA website (see link below). In addition, you should familiarize yourself with the legal requirements and codes of practice that apply to the operation of bouncy castles. (See: BIHA website link below)

7: Basic accounting.

It is very important to keep track of all the money you receive. Also, of course, your expenses for advertising, printing, fuel, phone calls, etc.

8: Expanding your business.

After you have your first few hires under your belt, you will probably start to think about other types of inflatables that you can invest in, such as inflatable slides and inflatable balls. Do not forget that the corporate market can be very lucrative (eg city councils and large companies in your city).

Good luck and all the success!

Why do men cheat on their wives’ friends?

Sometimes I hear of women dealing with a double whammy. Not only have they just found out that their husband has been cheating on them, they have also discovered that their husband has been cheating on them or having an affair with one of his friends. This may seem like a betrayal multiplied because two people you cared for did it behind your back this way. It is very common for wives to say that they imagine both laughing at her or feeling sorry for her behind her back. Because this is so painful, many wives are puzzled as to why their husband would choose one of his girlfriends to cheat on.

I heard a wife say: “of all the women in our town, why the hell did my husband have to choose one of my friends to have an affair? It’s as if he had chosen the woman with whom I would have had the least I wanted this to be. One of my friends is so pretty, bubbly and gorgeous. My husband knows I feel insecure around this woman. He knows that even though my friend and I are very close, I am somewhat jealous of her. In short , This is the worst woman he could have chosen, in terms of how much he would hurt me. I just don’t understand him because now he’s saying that the last thing he wanted to do was hurt me. But I can’t believe this. Because by choosing her, he has the security that they will hurt me to the best of their ability. Why do men choose to cheat on their wife’s friends? “I will try to address these concerns in the next article.

Often, there is no real intrigue involved. Although they will tell you “it just happened”, it is often a matter of proximity: Husbands often claim that they never intended to cheat on one of their wife’s friends. And sometimes, this is true. Often the husband has spent a lot of time with the friend and therefore feels comfortable with her. As a result, things don’t feel so inappropriate when they start joking around or starting to develop a closer friendship. And this friendship is usually possible due to the proximity between them. In other words, this is not a person your husband would rarely see. This is not a random or chance encounter with a stranger. It’s probably someone he considers a friend because you consider him a friend. And then things get out of hand or become inappropriate. Believe me when I say that I am not trying to excuse the husband or friend. There is no excuse as far as I am concerned. But I am trying to put this in context for you.

Sometimes the “friend” will chase the husband because of silly games: It is not at all strange that a supposed friend goes after her friend’s husband. Some women are simply very competitive with other women. They don’t feel complete until they think they are the most beautiful, attractive, and powerful woman in their group of friends. And sometimes when such a woman sees another woman’s husband, she focuses on him as something she must conquer in order to feel superior to her friend. Is this evil, immature and psychologically unhealthy? Absolutely. But, unfortunately, it happens sometimes with some particularly malicious women. Does this excuse the husband for his part in this? Absolutely not. He could have said no. But knowing that he was not the aggressor can also put this in perspective.

Some men try to hurt their wives by cheating on their friends: I can’t tell you that men never cheat on their wife’s friends as a way to get back at her or as a way to hurt her. This happens sometimes. But usually, you will know that this was your intention from the beginning because you literally want to get caught. This was not the case here. Also, when you catch him or confront him, he will almost enjoy the whole situation. Not only that, but her marriage will generally be quite volatile in the days, months, or weeks leading up to the infidelity, so that the husband looks for a way to really hurt her or have an impact. He’s often trying to show you that if you don’t appreciate or see value in him, then someone whose opinion you seem to value feels different. Again, that was not the case here. But I brought up this possibility to let you know that some husbands specifically chose the other woman because he knows she is the one who is going to hurt you the most.

In short, there are several reasons why a man will choose to cheat on one of his wife’s friends. Convenience, familiarity, and mind games are just a few of the reasons. I list these reasons to give you an idea, but I don’t think any of them are valid for cheating. That said, I know of couples who have been able to save their marriages in this situation. It often takes a lot of work and patience. And it often requires the so-called friend to be permanently out of the picture.

Link romantic feelings to the sight of your face

Anchoring is an NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) term used to describe the mind’s tendency to associate two unrelated events or experiences, especially when there is a strong emotion.

For example, if your mother gave you chicken soup when you were sick as a child, you will always associate chicken soup with being loved and cared for.

On the downside, if you once contracted food poisoning from eating contaminated pickles, just the smell of pickles will be enough to cause a feeling of nausea many years after the event.

How does anchoring work in relationships?

If you come home from work euphoric from a promotion and see your lover’s face, you will link that feeling of euphoria with the sight of his face. In the same way, if you hate your job and constantly talk about those feelings with your spouse over dinner, you will subconsciously begin to associate the bad feelings with him or her.

In that case, you should make a conscious effort to share more good times with them so that you can more easily associate positive feelings with the sight of their face.

Sharing good times creates positive bonds or associations. It helps you cope with the less positive moments that each couple experiences at some point in their relationship.

Breakup is often the result of attaching too many negative anchors in full view of your partner’s face, not knowing how to counter them by deliberately creating positive ones.

Here is a common example. A young doctor whose wife works to help him through medical school may decide to divorce her after she graduates. This is because he associates the sight of his face with the difficult times they lived through during those years. Of course, this is all unconscious, all he knows is that he feels bad every time he looks at her. He mistakenly takes this as a sign that the relationship is not working.

Now that you know how anchoring works, use it intentionally to improve your relationship.

1. Plan positive events together and be sure not to let negativity intrude on the event. Save discussions or disagreements for later.

2. During the height of an intensely positive moment that you are sharing,

(a) lightly touch your loved one on the knee or arm,

(b) squeezes the person’s hand, or

(c) wrap your arms around him.

The next time you repeat the same gesture with this person in some other context, it will reawaken some of those original emotions in them.

Similarly, if you touch someone in a specific way when they are feeling sad, for example squeezing their shoulder or putting your arm around them at a funeral, then touching them in the same way will reawaken those feelings of sadness. So be careful what kind of emotions you associate with your touch, words, or face.

How does this apply to gifts?

A gift is by nature an anchor. Every time the recipient looks at the gift, they will remember the occasion when they received it, especially if they experienced strong emotions at the time.

So you can help ensure that your gift is a strong and ongoing anchor by ensuring that you create a truly memorable experience, such as an extremely romantic evening, when you present the gift.

A woman will always remember following a trail of rose petals in her lover’s apartment to find the necklace she bought for her birthday.

A man will always remember being presented with his own personal star by a lover dressed only in a star print bra and thong.

It is also important to consider the opposite effect.

Never give a gift as an apology. You don’t want to create negative anchors by giving gifts after an argument.

If you give your wife a diamond ring to apologize for the fact that she caught you cheating with your secretary, the ring will always remind you of your infidelity.

If you give your husband a new watch to apologize for crashing his BMW, he will remember his transgression every time he checks the time.

Even if those memories don’t reach consciousness, they lurk beneath the surface. It makes more sense to allow them to fade, rather than attach them to physical objects as gifts.

Keep things simple. A genuine apology is all that is required after an argument. Save gifts for positive occasions.

TV Critics Reviews "Heroes of Higglytown"

As the aunt of a preschooler and aspiring voice actress (I knew all those hours of watching Bugs Bunny would come in handy), I know every kid’s show, as well as every kid’s DVD out there.

In my opinion, there is no better way for celebrities to get back their outrageous salaries than to entertain and sometimes educate children. And They Might Be Giants gets a “cooler than Elvis” vote for singing the title track of one of Playhouse Disney’s newest hits, “Higglytown Heroes,” which is also on their children’s CD / DVD, “Here Come the A B C s”.

For those of you who are not familiar with all things Higgly (an adjective that is used both as “Smurf” but not, thanks to Higgles, as a verb), the series focuses on a small town and four children named Eubie, Kip and brothers Wayne and Twinkle. Think “South Park” with better art and no bad language. The loudest language is “Aw, pickles”, usually uttered by Twinkle (pinker than Trista Rehn Sutter!) After his fantastic ideas for solving children’s dilemmas are gently drilled by Fran, a friendly squirrel with the voice by Edie McClurg.

In each two half-hour episode show, the Higgly Kids experience common and innocent childhood events, such as finding a caterpillar, throwing a TV party for the Happy Hairy Higgly Monster Primetime Special, losing a tooth, Kip’s grandfather locked in the bathroom. or taking care of an unhappy bird. Children try to solve their problems, guided by Fran, who is the voice of reason, helped by their loving families and the ever-enthusiastic Bill and Ted-ish Pizza Guy … plus someone special. Then comes the inevitable song …

“Someone special, who could it be?

This job is too big for you and me.

We need help!

But never fear

Looks like a job for a … Hero of Higglytown!

A Hero of Higglytown! “

Some of the heroes are natural choices, especially after 9/11: policewoman, firefighter, etc. But how many of us think of sanitation workers, electricians, plumbers, gardeners, postmen (voiced by Kathie Lee Gifford), and farmers as heroes? Or a telephone operator (with the voice of Cyndi Lauper)? Although heroes have celebrity voices, the Higgly Kids discover that the real stars around them are the people who solve problems every day.

Some of the dilemmas get a bit ridiculous from an adult perspective. For example, when Kip climbs a tree to save a beloved neighborhood cat and her kittens, his friends help him. Why, when you get stuck, can’t they help you back up? Ahem … when was the last time you tripped and panicked? You need help in your own life every day without thinking about it.

The beauty of “Higglytown Heroes” is that it celebrates working together, “having fun together,” and the Higgly Kids, as well as their families, never take the Heroes in their lives for granted. The electrician (Lance Bass) is invited to participate in the “Higgly Monsters” TV party after repairing the circuits at Kip’s house. The firefighter (Donald Faison) who pulls Kip out of the tree shares a birthday party for the neighborhood cat. How many of us make an effort to thank the people who make our lives easier? Sometimes we forget to see them as people with needs and feelings.

We even forget to see our own families as heroes. Kip’s grandmother (voiced by “Golden Girl” Betty White, with a hairstyle similar to Rose Nylund’s) knits the children’s sweaters. Kip’s real estate agent Mom Bitty acts like the lifeblood of 1950s domestic life, but is rewarded when Kip and his friends make her a card to get her back on track. Wayne’s mom Plunkie shows the kids a caterpillar and takes them to the beach, while Wayne and Twinkle’s Uncle Lemmo cook them breakfast in their restaurant and, in the Christmas special, take Wayne and Twinkle. on his sleigh.

Interestingly, Higgly’s families aren’t always nuclear families, something Disney portrays as normal without drawing attention to it. Kip’s family is the proverbial nuclear family, with twin sisters, a little sister, a mom and dad, Fripp (who operates a hot dog cart), and two grandparents who live in or constantly visit Kip’s mansion. Twinkle and Wayne’s mother appears to be a single dad (although they are all African American, no one has yelled racism yet), and Eubie is apparently being raised by her Aunt Mellie and Uncle Zooter with a southern accent, with visits from her southern accent. Grandpop Crank (a farmer).

In many ways, Higglytown is idealized. Nobody seems to care about work, money, or status. People go to the library, and a librarian is a Higglytown hero! Kids “work really hard” and take responsibility (gasp) by thinking of ways to help themselves and their families, and in each episode there are little moral lessons and tips (take care of your pets, don’t use too much electricity, make them smile someone) to show children how they can become … Heroes of Higglytown!

Cynics and naysayers will scoff at this like a childish pablum. I call it a refreshing dose of reality and a tribute to the heroes around us. Disney animators are Higglytown Heroes for creating this show.

Author’s Note: After this review originally went online, actor Rory Thost, who voices “Kip,” was kind enough to be a “Higglytown hero” and brighten my day by telling me how much he and the cast I liked the review. For all those who think that our children are real troublemakers, the young master Rory Thost is thirteen years old: http://imdb.com/name/nm1191277/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnxteD0yMHxzZz0xfGxtPTIwMHx0dD1vbnxwbj0wfjf0fH9 the world’s longest career SufGPTw9yew9yef0dD1vbnxwbj0w9yef0fb9Hw9yef0dD1vbnxwbj0w9yebH9G9 the world’s longest career! than mine! More importantly, in a world where celebrity misbehavior is sadly the norm, this young man remains polite, mature, well-mannered, and well-grounded.

Author’s Note II: This series just keeps getting better. The continuity is on par with most primetime shows. Kip has adopted a dog named “Shadow” who makes guest appearances; we meet Fran’s parents after seeing them at the Christmas special; Eubie’s grandfather becomes a Higglytown hero; Eubie’s bird, Flappy, makes appearances from time to time. The fireman is back. The electrician proposes to the teacher, and Pizza Guy and Fran become Higglytown heroes!

Author’s Note III: Disney has created Higglytown Heroes Toys. This series has legs!
