Influence – The luxury restaurant in Chennai

Now Chennai and the people of Chennai are no strangers to vegetarianism. So if another vegetarian restaurant opens its doors in Chennai, it is not a surprise. If you are one of those who raise your eyebrows when haute cuisine and a vegetarian restaurant are talked about at the same time, then you need to think again! So when a fine dining vegetarian restaurant opens in Chennai, the fare it has to offer must be different. Influence is just that…

Influence’s interiors are designed by none other than Manish Malhotra. In fact, the signature of its designer also lends itself to the uniforms worn by the waiters. The interiors can be described as luxurious and elegant, in shades of beige, brown and gold. Spread over 5000 m2. feet gives you a sense of space as you enter. Ponds full of flowers, low lighting, unusual furniture, attractive paintings all add to the creation of a magical aura.

The menu wanders endlessly, offering a variety of healthy drinks and juices to invigorate and rejuvenate. They also have a variety of cream based soups but what caught my eye was the tomato soup served with real gold leaf. The cuisine is more fusion than distinctive. You can choose from spinach balls stuffed with melted mozzarella, risottos for Chennai rice lovers, Vietnamese paper rolls, unusual mixed salads and penne delicately flavored with herbs and mixed with an invigorating tomato puree.

Their range of pizzas is wide and they come with exotic asparagus, olive oil, fromaggio, jalapeños and chives. Fusion foods like paneer with Dijon mustard and mango sauce for dumplings whetted our taste buds. Desserts were rich and creamy, but their chocolate desserts were to die for!

If fusion food is not your thing, then you have an option too! They have a full desi menu for you to enjoy: dal makhni, tadka daal, palak makai, paneer pasada, crispy cauliflower, vegetable biryani, butter naans, pudina, and lachchedar paratha. The usual in terms of choice, but the unusual in terms of taste – the food was particularly tasty and not floated with oily masala!

Touted as the first luxury lifestyle restaurant in Chennai, it can best be described as cutting edge and a good influence indeed! Despite the calm one feels upon entering the restaurant, it wasn’t particularly calm. A little pricey, but the good food and atmosphere make you feel like it’s value for money.

Eden Bay clothing optional resort in the Dominican Republic.

The Dominican Republic is located on the island of Hispaniola, the second largest island in the Caribbean region.

Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, is the oldest city in the New World and is rich in historical monuments, including the famous Casa de Colón.

The second largest city on the island is Puerto Plata, located on the north coast of the island, and has the famous Amber Museum. Dominican amber is so coveted around the world that the entire area has been given the name “Amber Coast.”

Eden Bay prides itself on being one of the jewels of the Amber Coast. Just outside Eden House is a large free-form pool with a swim-up bar, hot tub, and Eve’s Pavilion, an air-conditioned fitness center, and brightly colored hotel buildings offering spacious rooms, studios, and one-bedroom apartments. .

Florida: Florida Fun, World’s Best Vacation for Your Money

Take my word for it, Florida is a fabulous place to vacation and get a lot of value for your money. I have traveled to more than 50 countries and 6 continents of the world. I am very familiar with what is available to the tourist around the world.

Florida offers the largest variety of things to do at affordable prices than anywhere else you’ve seen. The Sunshine State remains the number one favorite among Brits and Canadians. Not to mention that Florida is extremely popular with Latinos from Central and South America.

Whether you like sunny beaches, world-class attractions, fine dining, or a luxurious place to just relax, Florida is full of options. I was born in Orlando, a paradise for children, which is home to Walt Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, various water parks and resorts. I even dated Cinderella when she was working at Disney World my first summer out of high school. I have been a lifeguard at Water Mania and Wetn’Wild, just two of our many water parks in Central Florida. I have surfed Cocoa Beach, New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach.

If you’re looking for a quiet getaway, try the West Coast, where you can catch a romantic sunset on the beach. Clearwater, Sarasota and St. Petersburg are all favorites among retirees. The Emerald Coast around Panama City and Pensacola (smaller coastal towns even better) are delightfully enchanting.

Tampa is one of our fastest growing cities and home to the Devil Rays and Bucaneers if you want to attend a sporting event. Spring in Florida is home to the boys of the summer with baseball franchises across North America who come here to train before the regular season. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon and watch your favorite athletes all in one place.

If Latin flavor is your thing, try Miami, where you can tap your feet to the beat of hot salsa and spicy meringue. A little pretentious, to be sure, but always lively, Miami has a lot to offer.

If you like yachts and speedboats, try visiting Fort Lauderdale, one of the largest ports in the world. There are several cruises leaving Fort Lauderdale weekly to the Caribbean that are sure to satisfy.

The Florida Keys, four hours south of Miami by car, have some lovely islands and places to visit if you just want to relax and soak up the sun.

Florida manatees can be seen at some of our natural springs. Airboat rides can also be found along some rivers, where you can also see some alligators and fish.

These are just a few of the countless things you can do to keep yourself entertained in the great state of Florida. At the end of the day, though, you’ll just want to kick back and drink some fresh-squeezed orange juice, eat a slice of key lime pie, and enjoy the breeze with family and friends.

Eight substantial promises of Psalm 145 and 146 for people who suffer

Most of us, in times of difficulty, turn to friends and others for help, comfort, and advice. God’s word at the beginning of Psalm 146 tells us not to. The psalmist warns us:

Psalm 146:3-4 (The Message)

3-9 Do not put your life in the hands of experts who know nothing about life, about life of salvation. Human mothers don’t have what it takes; when they die, their projects die with them. Instead, get help from the God of Jacob, put your hope in God and know the true blessing! God made heaven and earth, the sea and all the fish in it.

Psalm 146:3-4 (New King James Version)

3 Trust not in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. 4 his spirit departs from him, he returns to his land; On that very day his plans perish.

That said, we must turn to God’s promises and look to and claim the promises in difficult times. Let’s look at eight promises in the two psalms.

For the sake of clarity, I will quote the NKJV and the Post in each case.

Promise 1 He’ll give you a hand when you’re down.

Psalm 145:14 (The Message)

14 God gives a hand to those who are unlucky, gives a new start to those who are ready to give up.

Psalm 145:14 (New King James Version)

14 The LORD upholds all who fall, And lifts up all who are oppressed.

I have to say that there have been many times when I have been on the verge of quitting and the LORD in His wisdom and His mercy has sent someone or something to give me the grace to get up and have another try. I have a preacher friend who tells me that we fall when we transgress God’s laws, meaning that we fall every time we sin. And this is not correct. The Lord is always there to pick us up and forgive us every time we fall.

I am confused, stunned and amazed at how much grace the LORD of heaven has for us. I have broken the law so many times in twenty years of sex addiction and I am amazed at how much and how willingly he forgave me during all those years. I am eternally grateful that He sent a teacher of the Word across my path to show me that my sexual addiction was not going to be tolerated forever and the need for me to find true repentance.

Promise 2 Everything God does is right

Psalm 145:17 (The Message)

17 Everything God does is right; the trademark in all his works is love.

Psalm 145:17 (New King James Version)

17 The LORD is just in all his ways, merciful in all his works.

Everything God does is right. That is such a profound statement in the midst of a suffering and dying world that we live in. Every thing that God does is right. And God abounds in love and his love is merciful and sometimes we are so unworthy of that love. Oh, if we could be more like Jesus and walk in the grace, mercy, and compassion of Jesus, this world we live in would be a different place. Promise 3 God promises to hear your prayers

Psalm 145:18 (The Message)

18 God is there, listening to all who pray, to all who pray and mean it.

Psalm 145:18 (New King James Version)

18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Have you ever felt like your prayers bounced off the roof of your house and never made it to heaven? I’ve got. So I began to walk in Truth towards God and began to seek him in my life and obey him. It is encouraging that the LORD listens to all those who pray with faith that He is listening and who pray as if they really mean it and it is not an obligation or a ritual that they need to do as part of an empty religion. I find the promise in Jeremiah 29 encouraging.

Jeremiah 29:12-14 (New King James Version)

12 Then you will call on me, and go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek me and find me, because you will seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, saith the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity;

You realize that the Lord told Israel here that they need to seek Him with all their hearts. Again in the Psalms it says that He will be close to all who pray to Him in truth, with all their hearts.

This year I have been seeking the Lord for healing and restoration in my life and now I have a counselor who is doing a wonderful job with me, helping me in my spiritual life and releasing the enemy’s hold on my life through the curses that I have spoken upon me. life and curses that my family has had.

It is encouraging that the Lord of heaven and earth will be close to all who seek him and cry out to him. Promise 4 He will grant your wishes if you delight in Him

Psalm 145:19 (The Message)

19 He does what is best for those who fear him: He hears their cry and saves them.

Psalm 145:19 (New King James Version)

19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him; He too will hear his cry and save them.

The Lord is there for the helpless and will save those in need. It is his promise to all who need his help. It’s like how sometimes when we’re in trouble, God leans down with an ear waiting for us to cry out for help.

He loves so much to answer our prayers and move heaven and earth to answer them and show us that he loves us and remains a sovereign and saving God.

Few of us fear the Lord as we should. If we all feared Jehovah we would stop sinning. The person who loves the LORD and has a reverent fear of the LORD will have godly desires and they will come true.

Psalm 37 shows that those who delight in the Lord will see their promises fulfilled.

Psalm 37:4 (New King James Version)

4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Many people have desires but want the things of the world not the things of God, but when one delights in the LORD and treats the LORD as his own husband then the LORD will see his desires come true as are His desires.

Promise 5 He will preserve you through thick and thin

Psalm 145:20 (The Message)

20 God adheres to all who love him, but everything ends for those who do not love him.

Psalm 145:20 (New King James Version)

20 The LORD protects all who love him, but he will destroy all the wicked.

It is good to see that God can be on our side when it comes to temptations and trials, and this verse applies to all of us who love him and put him first in our lives. I imagine the jams and pickles that mothers and grandmothers bottle and preserve for years and how delicious they are to taste in due time. The Lord promises that he will take care of us and help us during the days and years of our stay on earth. I find tremendous comfort in this verse, as does anyone who has sinned as much as I have.

Promise 6 He will do justice for you

Psalm 146:7 (The Message)

He always does what he says, defends the wronged,

Psalm 146:7 (New King James Version)

7 who gives justice to the oppressed, who feeds the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free.

The LORD goes to battle for the oppressed and people who are wronged by others. He gives prisoners of sin a life of freedom through his Son and can also free people in prison. He feeds the hungry.

Who feeds the hungry?

He feeds the hungry. Even in starving nations, He raises up people in the West to ask for money and resources to feed the hungry. So many times I have run out of food and the LORD has used a friend to provide for me. So many times the Lord has fed me by putting into the heart of another to send me money or for a person to buy me something to eat. Also, the Lord often uses me to feed a person who has bad luck and this hurts him a lot.

God is wonderful and too good for all of us, and yet because He is so good to us, we need to reach out to others and share that love and lead others into truth.

Promise 7 He will give you light where you are spiritually blind

Psalm 146:8 (The Message) He gives sight to the blind, He lifts up the fallen.

Psalm 146:8 (New King James Version)

8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; The LORD lifts up the downtrodden; The Lord loves the righteous.

What a generous God we have! He not only heals blind people, even today these healings are being done in the name of Jesus, but He is busy removing the scales of bad teachings and bad doctrines from the eyes of the church. It is a great mercy that the Lord can speak clearly against a false teaching and dismantle it with a good teacher and the anointing of the Holy Spirit from him. The LORD does not even need a good teacher, for in 1 John the Teacher is identified as the Holy Spirit and even through a prayerful reading of God’s Word, the eyes of a blind person can still be opened.

The Bible is still effective in bringing people to conviction of sin, repentance, and leading them to a life of holiness. The Bible lives and breathes and will open the eyes of the spiritually blind and correct student of the Word who wants to be corrected and guided by the Holy Spirit. God’s Word promises it right here!

And in most cases the blind are caught up in a sin and have fallen short and when their eyes are opened they can find repentance and begin to walk in grace and live in a new life where this hindrance or sin is no more. keeps them in bondage.

Promise 8 He will take care of single mothers, orphans and widows

Psalm 146:9 (The Message)

GOD loves good people, protects strangers, sides with orphans and widows, but kills the wicked.

Psalm 146:9 (New King James Version)

9 The LORD watches over foreigners; He helps the orphan and the widow; But the way of the wicked He upsets.

A contemporary interpretation of this promise could be that the Lord will take care of the single mother whose son does not see his father. Divorce seems to make many women single and these women are precious to the LORD. Single Christian mothers should take great comfort in this verse and not rush too easily into another man’s arms to provide when the Lord promises to provide here.

He relieves the orphan and the widow means that He will be there to be their relief. The LORD knows your struggles and knows your heart. You just need to find him and present his case to him.

Dark Souls III – Should you play it?

First off, I got Platinum in both Scholar of the First Sin and Dark Souls 3. Okay, that last part is bullshit. I still need Master of Miracles for Dark Souls 3 (getting rid of the Concord Kepts from the Silver Knights in Anor Londo… ) But still, I’ve played both games more times than I can count.

So how difficult is it? Average. Dark Souls has this reputation of being difficult, but I don’t think it is. Yes, enemies hit hard. But you too.

There are no “bullet sponges” here. Did you get hit by half your health bar? Guess what, you can hit them back for about the same. You’ll die a lot, and unlike many other games, there’s not an overly generous checkpoint system.

But know this: My son (with a little help from SunBro from me) beat Dark Souls 2, including the DLC, when he was 11 years old. He had just finished Dark Souls 3 last weekend. he is 13

With that said, after hundreds of hours spent on Dark Souls 3, here is my short review.

Let’s start with the negative things first:

The Poise system is poorly designed (last I checked, there is a belief among the community that the Poise system in fact doesn’t work at all. There is supposed to be code in the game that would allow a working Poise system, but it was removed or ‘turned off’ before release. The developers, to my knowledge, deny it, which is fine. But that means they handled the mechanic very, very poorly).

“It’s working as intended.” So you intended for it to malfunction…

What is balance and why is it important?

Every time you hit an enemy, you have a chance, depending on their poise and your weapon, to interrupt their movement (preventing them from dodging, dashing, rolling, and most importantly, attacking).

This is called wobble. The movement is interrupted and they are hit. A stunned enemy is a defenseless enemy. A dead enemy.

This system applies to both you and enemies in the game.

How poise used to work: In previous Dark Souls games, you could wear armor that would increase your poise, making it harder to stagger and interrupt your attacks.

How it works now: It doesn’t. Any enemy can interrupt most attacks with any weapon you use.

At first, it might not seem that bad, until you get to the second Dark Souls 3 bug, and possibly my biggest complaint regarding the game.

Absolutely all enemies attack faster than you (and have a longer range), no matter what weapon you’re using. Do they have a great sword the size of a house? They can initiate an attack with that faster than you can stab with a dagger. His dagger? He will hit you as your greatsword whips through the air in front of his face.

So if you’re the kind of player who likes to trade blows with enemies… you’ll ALWAYS be stunned.

Your only option now is to dodge everything, all the time. And that’s fine. If that is the style of play you want to choose. People have been doing it this way since Demon Souls. But there was always an option.

I like being a fast ninja. But there are also times when I get tired of this game’s crap and want to put on heavy armor, pull out a flaming ultra-great sword and go to town!

In the past, you could choose heavy armor and a great sword and trade blows with an enemy. Yes, it would hurt you, but you would hurt them more. A fully viable playstyle that no longer works.

And good. That’s how this game is supposedly designed. But the claim that Dark Souls has such a deep combat system? I don’t think that’s true with this installment.

For a game that relies heavily on combat… That’s a huge step backwards.

One more complaint:

The covenant system. This is not a big deal if you are not a trophy hunter. It is entirely possible to play the full game and enjoy it without having to mess around with most of the pacts.

But if you are looking for the Platinum trophy? Get ready to grind. Much. Because while the multiplayer system has been improved over games of the past, there are still a couple of broken conventions that will require a LOT of time sitting around waiting to be summoned or fighting. Expect an average of 6 hours killing the same enemies over and over and over and over and over and over…

(I’m looking at you Blades of the Darkmoon…)

Ok, so what is good?

Pretty much everything else.

The environments are beautiful and fun to explore. I can’t think of a single area where I came in and said “UGH. This again.” (In the first Dark Souls, I found almost everything after Sen’s Fortress to be cheap and tedious.)

The weapons and armor, everything really, looks amazing.

There’s a lot of variation in enemies, and they make sense for the environments they’re found in.

Multiplayer is always open to opinion. I think it’s pretty balanced if you play smart. Others will not agree. If you’re a crybaby and don’t like being outnumbered when you invade, you’re not going to love the way Dark Souls 3 handles things.

Matchmaking has improved a lot. This time you can easily cooperate with your friends thanks to password matching.

Finally, one of my favorite improvements: for the first time, all armor sets are useful! You no longer need to update them. And ALL are functional. Most weapons are also viable.

The developers have given you an incredible arsenal to choose from, and it all works. Even the poorest weapons are adequate to handle enemies in the game.

Bottom line: Is it fun? Yes. Is it frustrating? Something often. Is it worth buying? Yes. Are there other games like this that are better? No.

Do I resent developers? A little!

If I had to rate it, I’d start with a 10 for all the amazing things this game does well. I would then take 3 points off for the broken fight and settle for a 7. Yes, this game has a lot going for it. But you’re going to have to put up with some unnecessary frustration (in my opinion) to enjoy it.

Fix the Poise boys!

Free Entertainment in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico has one main export: music. Puerto Ricans are raised on music and dance. It’s no wonder, then, that finding free outdoor concerts is easy, as long as you know where to look.

Old San Juan

There are several free concerts during the week in the Old City. On the Paseo de la Princesa, bands and artists perform on Saturdays and Sundays from mid-afternoon until 5-6 pm. The short street between the south-facing fortifications of the Old City is a farmers’ market, festival, and street fair all rolled into one. At the center of activity is a stage that hosts various acts, ranging from reggatone to salsa.

At the top of Old San Juan, near El Morro, Ostra Cosa offers nightly entertainment in an open-air plaza. Cabaret and salsa are the most common offerings. Navigate to the western end of Calle San Sebastián (at the intersection of Calle del Cristo) and listen to the music. From 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., generally.

The Old City also hosts monthly and annual events, such as the legendary San Sebastian Street Fair. Plaza Colón holds monthly arts and crafts festivals with music, dance, and food. The Plaza de Las Armas also hosts monthly events that include free music and performing arts.

Condominium

The Condado Sea Window is a hub of activity on Sundays. Twice a month, the park hosts a free jazz festival with dozens of vendors, food carts, and dancing. Activities generally start around 10 am and continue until 5-6 pm. Vendors represent a variety of crafts and art forms, including artisan baked goods and organic foods, in addition to traditional artisan offerings.

green Island

The town of Carolina hosts a weekly jazz festival behind Walgreen’s on Friday and Saturday nights in the summer. Depending on the schedule, free buses operate between the parking lot adjacent to the Munoze Airport and Punta Las Marías, providing services to all hotels. The quality of the performers is on par with the great jazz festivals in Puerto Rico. The artists, in the purest Puerto Rican style, fuse jazz inspired by New York and New Orleans with Caribbean influences. The stage area and music and lighting equipment are set up for large stadium-sized audiences.

santurce

La Placita is a relatively unknown local favorite for visitors in the Tourist Zone. The Gazebo hosts a weekly salsa band. La Placita is located between Dos Hermanos and Duffault Street, and during the day it functions as a farmer’s market. At night, take on a party atmosphere. Dozens of bars and restaurants are located in a small two-block area, giving La Placita a min-mardi gras vibe almost every weekend.

last car

On weekends during the day, the Ultimo Trolley beach attracts bands of local volunteers at the gazebo adjacent to the beach parking lot. These are authentic Puerto Rican salsa bands that use traditional Puerto Rican musical instruments. Members of the band gather in the gazebo (apparently anyone can participate in the music making) and perform traditional Puerto Rican standards for the crowd for free. Ultimo Trolley is located between Ocean Park and Punta Las Marías.

conclusion

The music never stops in Puerto Rico. Requiring a paying audience to listen to live music in San Juan is the exception, not the rule.

Once Upon a Time in America: The Assimilation Experience of Early Italian Immigrants Part 4 of 4

“Anything an individual does is recognized and given a fair and reasonable opportunity by American Democracy.” Assemblyman Chas. Novello of New York City 1921

In this final part of a 4-part series examining the history and heritage of Italian Americans, we will explore the importance of the family unit and neighborhood to the successful assimilation process of Italian immigrants. In the previous 3 parts, we examined the background of Italian immigrants, their reasons for coming to the United States, and the difficulties they overcame.

In both America and Italy, the family it is a very united unit. Respect and support for the elderly is very important to Italian American families. During the early days of immigration, the father was seen as the head of the family. Women ran the household, influencing the social and religious life of their children, as well as making important decisions regarding the family. One of the most important aspects of the religion of the Italians that was brought to the New World was the celebration of a patron saint: the Virgin with processions, fireworks and worship, invoking protection for the people. In East Harlem there were 50,000 people celebrating the Feast of Mount Carmel at one point. The Feast of Sant’Antonio is celebrated annually in the same way that the Italian ancestors did and still do in Brusciano, Italy, building a Giglio and dancing with it in the streets of Manhattan, New York.

Although early Italian immigrants did not want to farm in the United States, many turned to farming as a means of economic survival. While traveling across America in search of employment, some Italians took advantage of entrepreneurial opportunities. They turned the swampy lands of the southern regions into fertile soil. On the West Coast they grew lemons, oranges, and other fruits. The wine industry was undertaken on a large scale. The early Italian immigrants became suppliers of fruits and vegetables to the big cities, making a significant contribution to the economic strength of the United States. Skilled Italians worked as bricklayers, stonemasons, mechanics, shoemakers, tailors, musicians, and barbers, plying their trades and crafts in the neighborhoods and cities in which they lived. Those who were unskilled in the early 20th century were forced to take jobs as common laborers and factory workers, finding employment in shipyards, mines, railways, and in construction.

Many became street vendors, selling fruit and vegetables. Some worked as waiters in restaurants and hotels. Gradually, the familiar sight of Italian vendors displaying their wares on pushcarts was seen along the busy streets of Little Italy and down First Avenue in Italian Harlem. Small businesses began to proliferate throughout the United States within Italian communities and became an important part of the settlement process. These small Italian companies not only played an important role in their own economic progress, but also gained key positions in the business system that has made the United States what it is today, the financial center of the world.

As the Italian population increased, a leading Italian newspaper, “Il Progresso Italo-Americano” was established in New York. Its purpose was to help strengthen immigrants’ ties with Italy. This newspaper was an influential tool that helped the Italian immigrant in his assimilation into American society. One of the largest and most influential Italian organizations established in America began in New York City in 1905, the “Order of the Sons of Italy in America”, which provided numerous benefits, meeting the needs of Italians living in this country. . The Sons of Italy were of great help in softening the demeaning image of “Wop”, providing psychological compensation through their Italian-American program, keeping the love for Italy alive, preserving the Italian language, and highlighting Columbus Day as a symbol of solidarity. between America and Italy.

Let’s not forget the founding of the “NIAF”, the National Italian American Foundation, which not only preserves the rich history of Italian Americans but also celebrates their myriad contributions to American society. NIAF’s efforts have enabled many Americans of Italian descent to realize their academic, artistic, and cultural dreams while contributing to the tradition of their great heritage. It also supports education by offering scholarships and research awards for Italian American students.

The Great Depression hit Italian Americans hard, especially men who worked in the construction industry. Regular employment was hard to come by to support and feed their large families. Then the wives had to do homework just to keep their family afloat. It was easier for women to find work. Even the children needed help. If the wife was lucky enough to find work outside the home, she still had to continue to do her housework, cooking, washing dishes, laundry, and taking care of the children. At the end of the day, the exhausted wife would sometimes fall asleep at the table until she left for work the next day. One thing is for sure, as a general rule, unemployed men would never take care of housework. The role of wife, mother and working woman was not an easy task during the first years of immigration and the depression. As the Italian woman became more Americanized, “He took on the dominant values and fought for education and equality.” In the 1920s and 1930s, Italian Americans were beginning to assimilate into the American way of life. In the 1940s, there were still a large number of unemployed Italians, but then the economy began to improve. In the 1950s, Italian Americans were able to move to better housing and sanitary conditions. World War II was a major turning point for Italian Americans when it came to acceptance into American society. The improvement in the American economy, the expansion of higher education, suburbanization, and government assistance to veterans all occurred in the years after World War II. These conditions provided opportunities for the second generation of Italian Americans. They made rapid progress in achieving home ownership success, which gave them respectability and independence. Of all the immigrant groups in the United States, they were known to have the highest percentages of home ownership. Owning a home was also a step toward assimilation.

Since the 1890s, the term “mafia” along with crime and violence has been unfairly associated with Italian Americans. This negative image has prevailed as public prejudice. The percentage of Italian Americans who have been involved in organized crime is small compared to the vast majority of hard-working, law-abiding, patriotic, and civic-minded American citizens.

After the great era of Italian immigration, which began in the late 1800s and early 1900s, Italian immigrants have moved steadily into the mainstream of American society and seen their children grow up as Americans. Many have moved out of poverty and working class jobs to higher levels of education, resulting in high achievement and economic success. Italian-Americans have become respected members of their communities, contributing their talents and knowledge to America as a whole in the fields of the arts, entertainment, politics, and much more.

The early Italian immigrants, rooted in the customs and traditions that were considered sacred in the old world culture, in their attempt to transfer these same family values and traditions to America, created divisions and conflicts between both generations. The second generation found themselves straddling two cultures while developing their own identity. They Americanized too quickly, undergoing a substantial degree of change. They did not retain the language, traditions, or customs, nor did they accept the way of thinking of their immigrant parents. As the second generation became fully absorbed into the American mainstream, their lifestyle practices, dress, and recreation and entertainment choices created a schism between the two generations. This culminated in a lot of irritation, friction, and unhappiness. Interest in old world culture became minimal or non-existent. However, the flip side of this is that there have always been Americans of Italian descent who would experience the best of both worlds, proudly preserving aspects of their culture and celebrating the legacy their ancestors once brought to their new adopted home while They enjoyed the best. that American culture has to offer. Today, we are all Americans, but Italian Americans hold a unique place in building the foundation of American Society, proudly celebrating both the heritage that helped earn them their place in this great melting pot of cultures and the position they occupy in modern America. !

The pound hasn’t sunk without a trace though, it still has some value but because London’s economy is so closely linked to banking and financial services the pound was hit hard and that means your dollar , yen or euro will buy. much more.

When people talk about London or for that matter England they usually mention the rain but due to global warming summers in London are hot to hot these days and that makes sightseeing a dream and you have to say that there are so many places of interest, both old and new. look, the Queen and the London Eye are at the top of most people’s lists, but those lists will go on and on.

A great way to take in most of London’s sights is a river trip, because, like most ancient cities, London was built first on one and then both banks of a river, in the case of London, the River Thames.

From a riverboat you can see Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the South Bank Arts Complex, The Globe Theatre, a reproduction of a theater from Shakespeare’s time, the Tower of London as you glide effortlessly under famous bridges like London Bridge and Tower Bridge and of course see much more.

Amazingly, you can stroll along the Mall and still be in St James’ Park, past Duck and even Pelican Ponds to Buckingham Palace, where the Queen of Great Britain has her official residence.

You can even check if she’s home by looking to see if the Royal Standard is flying over the Palace. However, she will be lucky to see her ‘at home’ because the Queen prefers Windsor Palace, which is about 20 miles west of London, where it is quieter and less polluted.

London is a tourist’s dream, there is always something around every corner, from the blue plaque on the wall of the apartment where Jimi Hendrix died at the back of Oxford Street to the beautifully restored St Pancras station which now houses the Railway International (Channel Tunnel) Rail service, but for so many years an abandoned building in ruins.

At night even more of London comes to life and as well as being able to enjoy great free live music in the cafes and bars there is the exciting sight of the river scenery alive with laser lights and often fireworks.

London is not to be missed and that’s why it’s one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, so it’s probably no surprise that there are enough hotel beds in London to sleep the population of dozens of major cities around the world.

The surprise would be that most of these hotel beds are booked well in advance, so careful planning is required to get a great hotel at the right price.
