How does fashion influence the lives of students?

This is a fashion era and fashion is very influential in our lives. In fact, it adds diversity to our lives by offering an aspect of enthusiasm to strive for something new and different, it would otherwise be a monotonous life if we are supposed to dress and act the same.

Fashion is an expression of a distinctive style particularly in clothing, footwear, accessories or makeup. It belongs to the style of doing something, looking different and dealing with others. It covers a wide range of categorizations such as behavior, speech, actions, manners, and lifestyle. There is a lot of intellectual discussion about fashion and clothing and its importance within today’s society. Fashion and clothing can be defined as many things that hold our society together. Fashion can be defined as an existing norm or style of dress, manners, and way of socializing while clothing is defined as items of clothing collectively. If fashion and clothing were eliminated from our lives there would be no room for individuality and the world population would be the same. There would also be a loss of distinctions between social classes, which was very defined in the 18th century but is still present today. The eradication of fashion and clothing would also change the dynamics of the social world and social relationships.

Mod, short for ‘modern’, refers to a youthful lifestyle that emerged in London during the 1960s and quickly spread to other parts of the world. Being fashionable is not only desirable but also satisfying. It is very common for young students to be more attracted to fashion and start following the trends instantly, so fashion strongly influences our youth. Fashion continually has an impact on society. It affects our views and attitude towards social culture. We introduce new ways of life through fashion and create awareness within ourselves to re-establish a new line of customs. It is a leading social statement for students to make an outward appearance in their social circle. Malcolm Barnard says in his book Fashion as Communication: “Fashion and clothing have always been explained as forms of communication” (39). Students use fashion to exchange their feelings and beliefs. They use fashion as a form of social contact with reference to scrutiny for all kinds of people. Fashion is a form of communication to convey to the world what your personality really says.

The 1920s are called the Age of Flaming Youth because of their wild, jazzy expression. In this period, the energy of youth was released in a new way, and no style seemed too ridiculous to become high fashion. Our world has been globalized. Celebrities play a very important role in the lives of young people. Students search for their favorite icons to stay up to date. While watching TV or using the Internet, they can easily be attracted to a variety of fashion concepts. Furthermore, students idealize their favorite celebrities and always have a desire to look like them, so they try their best to imitate their idols’ appearance and lifestyle. They are trying to capture all the existing fashion in their society to enhance their personality. Every time they socialize, they talk about new things that could be adapted. They use an unnatural way of expression, speech and gestures in their routine lives, which is relatively artificial.

From my point of view, there are two categories, that is, the positive and negative impact of fashion on students.

Fashion in our society has a great negative impact on students. They only think about the new fashion and this results in spending a large amount of money. Therefore, they are not able to become aware of other important necessities of life. It always distracts them from studies. Once a style or fad becomes a trend, the student community instantly goes after it, regardless of how much trouble it causes. On the other hand, they are caught in the confusion of fashion due to the impact of society. To follow a certain fashion, one has to take some actions and for this some students go beyond their limits just to attract their environment. They eventually become useless instead of resourceful and suffered from depression from being in the fad. On the other hand, it is also thought that the money spent on fashion could be spent on other purposes, such as charity and helping the poor.

Fashion creates an inaccessible standard for students. Everyone wants to be attractive and glamorous like the celebrities on TV or in magazines, so they spend a lot of time and money just to make a good impression on the people around them. However, they fail to make a statement most of the time which leads to low self esteem. It also creates a clash of thoughts between them and their friends which can lead to jealousy and as a result ruin their relationship with friends. The students begin to judge people by their appearance and those who can’t spend enough on their outward appearance, eventually getting persecuted, which lowered their confidence level to a certain extent.

Students who focus more on fashion are generally less conscious of their studies. They think that by adopting certain fashion trends, they will achieve some distinction among their peers, so they begin to give less importance to their academic careers.

There are some positive points of being fashionable too. For example, when teenagers feel good about their appearance, it gives them a high sense of worth and confidence in their personalities. They also feel more independent and acceptable in a social context. If students follow a certain trend, it makes it easier for them to recognize their own personalities by meeting different people in the society with the same interests and sense of style. Wearing fashionable clothes shows the status of a person. People assume that you are a more progressive person if you wear fashionable clothes. Malcolm Barnard says in his book Fashion as Communication: “Fashion and clothing have always been explained as forms of communication.”

Students eventually come to know that it is not good for them to follow or imitate others all the time. Instead, they must learn to be innovative and create their own sense of style. That helps them to be stronger, independent and imaginative. Fashion is the name of expressing yourself, it shows that people have the freedom to feel comfortable with themselves and that results in a more successful and prosperous society.

Fashion is an art form and because art is beneficial to society, so is fashion. Fashion is a great reason for companies to invest more in expanding the latest clothing, trends and a better life. We cannot disagree with the fact that fashion has an important place in the life of every student. Sometimes, it can be the source of things that make life more enjoyable. On the other hand, it can be destructive to the lives of certain people. So it is better to keep up with the fashion but if it is hurting your academic performance in any way then you should stay away from it. Generally, fashion can be entertaining, exciting, and harmless. Fashion is a method of making money that can employ thousands of people.

There must be stability in the life of the students while they are chasing the fashion. They should be aware of the fact that fashion within the limits is admirable, but when the limits are crossed, they have to face many problems. Your main responsibility is to fill yourself with the knowledge asset instead of running after the debauchery of the deceitful world of fashion. There must be a fair balance between being fashionable and moving away from our roots. Students should be aware of the fact that they have the maximum time to indulge in the world of lavishness after completing their studies, so they should dedicate their greatest devotion to education in the present for time and the tide does not wait.

Being fashionable and trendy is just our wish, no one can force us to do it and it is our own decision how much and what kind of fashion we prefer according to the place and the requirement. Although in this time of the 21st century in Pakistan most of the people are affected by the glamorous world and fashion style but still they have not forgotten our traditions and culture which is the priority and symbol of our country.

Top Ten Tips for Hosting Youth Group Games for Kids – Epic Fun for Everyone!

You have an amazing game in mind, a group of eager children, and a chosen place to play. What could go wrong? Hopefully nothing… however, to ensure your success when hosting youth group games, here are my top 10 tips.

Turn everyone on!

It is imperative that you come with a lot of energy! Before you take on the kids, take a deep breath, jump up and down, and cheer yourself up! If you are flat, then the children will be too.

Then turn on the kids! Get them excited. Their energy will ignite those around them. You can do this by asking choral questions, “Who’s ready for an awesome game of…?” “Blue team, are you ready? Red team, are you ready?” Have them repeat their answers until their energy level matches yours. Maybe they can come up with their own team names and team chant.

love the game

You have to believe in the game yourself. Any hint that you’re not one hundred percent sure this is a great game, the kids will pick up on. So, get to know the game well, making sure it’s perfect for the youth group you’re working with. Read the rules, watch a video of other children playing, and ask questions of other teachers or youth leaders who have led the game before. Keep it simple, especially if this is your first time running youth group games for kids.

preparation is king

You can never be too prepared. Once you have studied the rules of the game, write them down on a palm card to keep with you when you instruct the children. Select a suitable place to play the game. If you are outdoors, consider the weather, safety, and limits for children. Make sure you have the equipment you need to play, and set up as much as you can before the kids arrive to play. Think about where the children will be when you give directions. For example, don’t make them squint into the sun, and make sure their eyes are kept away from distractions.

Consider drink stops and catering for children with special needs. Consider how you will encourage the children and how you will abide by the rules of the game. Identify the limits for the game and have a plan to control the behaviors. Will you use a whistle to get the children’s attention or will you use another signal?

Have the goal in mind

Before you start with all the rules of the game, make sure that the children know the aim or objective of the game. If they have the goal in mind, they will understand the rules better. If you have the goal in mind, it will be easier for you to explain the rules of the game.

Tips for applying the rules of the game

Make sure children are seated and focused on you. They should not be chatting or looking at distractions around them. Make sure all children who are going to play are present. You don’t want latecomers to be halfway through your instructions.

Children have a short attention span, so be precise with your rules and keep them simple. Tell the children that they can ask questions after they have given their directions.

Once the rules have been given, I like to have the players review them. To do this, ask them to find a friend and repeat the rules to them.

If necessary, conduct a short demonstration of the game, or aspect of the game, with children who are familiar with it (you may need to prepare for this in advance with selected players or helpers).

Always allow children to ask questions to further clarify their understanding.

shared ownership

Players will be more motivated if they are invited to suggest improvements to the game. This works fine once you’ve played a round of the game. What I do is get everyone together and then invite players to suggest an improvement for the group game. A show of hands will indicate whether the idea is accepted by all. Tell everyone that we will try this idea and if it works well, keep it in the game. This gives ownership to everyone. There are always great ideas suggested that I never would have thought of.

Stop the game before it crashes

Now that all the kids are having so much fun playing the youth group game you introduced, it’s time to kill the game before the kids get tired. Ending on a high note will have the kids eager to come back and play again another day.

Never whip a dead horse. If your youth group game isn’t going to plan, or you see the kids losing interest, bring it in and take a break, then play the next game you’ve prepared.

create the experience

Introduce a story or theme into your group game. Maybe it has characters, accessories, or even a special costume. This enhances the experience for your players. Games like Narnia, Star Wars and Treasure go into a story with characters for which different players can be chosen.

no spectators

Involve spectators in the game. These can be siblings or parents. Put them on a team or have them referee the game. Make sure you are playing the game too. The children will be excited that you are enjoying the experience with them.

pit stops

Lastly, make sure there are regular breaks between games or during longer games. This allows children to catch their breath and rehydrate. Make sure breaks are short. You don’t want the kids to tune out. With team games, provide time for players to have short team meetings to strategize.

There you have it, my top tips for organizing youth group games for kids, accumulated over many years working as a school teacher specializing in games.

Epic fun for everyone!

How to relax your mind more deeply when meditating

Meditation has wonderful benefits. It can help improve your physical and mental health, release stress, and even tap into your mind’s deepest potentials and explore an exciting variety of altered states of consciousness. But to get the most out of your meditation sessions, you need to be able to relax your mind properly, and this is where many people have trouble.

Most beginners know the frustration of sitting down to meditate and realizing how uncontrollable their minds are. Your thoughts jump all over the place and resist any attempt to focus for a long time on the object of meditation. And as for achieving that mythical state of ‘no thought’, forget it! It’s very easy to end a meditation session feeling like you’ve just wasted your time, because all that’s happened is that your mind has run wild with itself, repeating problems or trivia over and over again.

Too many beginning meditators give up before they get past this stage. And that’s a shame, because if you give up, you’ll never experience all the great things meditation has to offer. With traditional meditation methods, you just keep practicing, day after day, and eventually controlling and focusing your thoughts becomes easier. But this can take months or even years.

Fortunately, modern technology can help you achieve and maintain a state of deep mental relaxation more quickly and easily than is normally the case. Thanks to brain wave training, you can start experiencing the benefits of meditation sooner rather than later.

What is brain wave training?

When you hear a rapidly repeating sound of a specific frequency, the brain has a natural tendency to follow it and match its own brain waves to the frequency of the sounds it’s hearing. This is called “frequency tracking response.”

As you meditate, your brain waves will slow down, until you are efficiently producing brain waves in the alpha (8 to 12 Hz) or theta (4 to 7 Hz) regions. By listening to a brain training recording that incorporates sounds in these frequency ranges, your brain will be able to access these states more easily – this is brain wave training.

There are three commonly used types of sound-based brainwave entrainment: these are binaural beats, monaural beats, and isochronous tones. All three work very well, although many people find the isochronic tones to be the most effective. But it’s always a good idea to experiment and see what type works best for you.

Regular use of a brainwave entrainment recording while meditating will make it easier to achieve a state of deep mental relaxation. And best of all, with constant practice, your brain will get used to reaching this state, and eventually you may no longer need to use the recording.

Top 10 Ways to Reduce Violence

I happen to live near one of the tragic “school shootings” of the recent past, and have seen how the grievance, anger, anguish, and upheaval have impacted our community. It has brought home that a general abhorrence of violence is not enough. While I’m sure others will have different, and perhaps wise, suggestions on how to reduce violence, these are my top 10 ways to reduce violence. If you can improve them, I appreciate your feedback, but I suspect it may be more important and more helpful if you write a letter to your local newspaper or school board. Together, we can reduce and perhaps eliminate violence.

1. Disconnect anger from violence. I am convinced that human beings get angry and that anger at injustice is often justified. There’s a healthy anger that insists, “There’s got to be a better way!” I fall silent when I hear parents tell children, “You shouldn’t be angry.” Instead, tell them, “Your feelings are okay, you can be angry, but you can’t hit or hurt others.”

2. See the connection between the love of violence and violence itself. The fascination with brutality, guns and bombs, war and evil should increase the chances of violent behavior. I can’t prove that, it just seems likely to me.

3. See the connection between all levels of violence. Insults and teasing, humiliation and shame are forms of violence. When we treat people badly, it shouldn’t surprise us that they look for a way to “get even.”

4. Take all violence seriously. Bullies on the playground and sibling rivalries don’t have to be accepted as a part of life, at least not when kids are being hurt. Kids fighting over “my toy” is one thing; hitting or pulling hair or knocking each other down is something else. We don’t have to accept it as normal behavior.

5. Take angry and troubled people seriously. We talked about the need for more early intervention with troubled children, and I agree. But people of all ages get caught up in situations they can’t handle, with emotions they don’t know how to express. Domestic violence, violence between co-workers and between children should always be treated as a serious matter. Hitting, hurting and threatening to hurt is not okay.

6. Deal with the availability of weapons. Knives, cars and a thousand other things kill people too, but guns have a unique place in the American imagination. Of course, they also have a place in the rich tradition of hunting and target shooting. I don’t have all the answers, but hunting seems different than having military-style weapons available in millions of homes across the country. There must be a better system.

7. Recognize the connection between violent images and violent behavior. I hate censorship, so this one is hard. But if 30-second footage can sell us lipstick and Buicks, and change the way we vote, it seems likely that hours upon hours of explosions, shootings, brawls, and mayhem could influence behavior as well. To be frank, I’m particularly concerned about violence in video games and the amount of violent “action-adventure” movies we support as a culture. Something strange is happening!

8. Recognize the connection between sports and violent behavior. Again, sports is a hallowed icon in American culture, but it seems sports have been separated from athletics. Instead of every kid participating in gym class and competing in intramural sports, we have a culture of superstar superheroes who are virtually above the law. Hockey, basketball, soccer, and other sports tolerate conduct that would result in an arrest for assault outside the sports arena. Competition and fitness are valuable; Organized violence is not acceptable!

9. Recognize the connection between language and violence. Business uses the language of the battlefield, and sports are full of encouragement to “go out and kill,” “butcher them,” and “knock their brains out.” Our legal system is based on the idea of the lawyer’s battle. While hiring a manager to fight with words instead of clubs was a huge step forward in the Middle Ages, perhaps our society is ready for an even higher level of conflict resolution.

10. See the violence in ourselves. Sometimes I find myself so angry that I “daydream” about the violence, or “really show it.” I hear jokes that use the phrase “Shoot the bastards!” I know if “looks can kill” or cutting statements really make you bleed, I’d be in deep trouble. Violence is not just someone else’s problem. I must work for peace, love and better conflict resolution in my own life. And you?

How a couple can bring variety to sexual relations

For many people, penetration is the most exciting because it is the most intimate act that we can perform with another person. The different positions bring some variety to a very basic mating act. Women are much less interested in different positions. The rear entrance can be more explicit and erotic.

Positions for intercourse include woman on top and doggy style with man behind. The different positions for intercourse are popular with men because they allow them more explicit views of their thrusting action. Couples experiment for a while, but usually resume missionary-style sex. This position involves less work for the woman and gives the man the best position to control the stimulation he gets from thrusting.

Quickies can be erotic if used in different places. Quickies often involve a standing position, even if only the rear entrance is bent over a table or in the shower. The woman can lean against an object (a tree, a table, or the edge of the shower) or lean at 90 degrees and rest on her stomach. If a woman often moves her hips during intercourse (to help stimulate the penis and give a sense of more proactive participation), it can be nice to have the excuse to do absolutely nothing. A man’s need to ejaculate into an orifice is clear and can make a woman feel like a receptacle for semen. If a couple has a positive relationship, the rewards can go both ways.

Some men fantasize about having sex outdoors or in unusual places. The most proactive couples change the location of sex as needed. Some people enjoy the risk of being caught or observed in places like public transportation or the movies. Some people like to watch and others like to be watched. Dogging is popular in the UK, which involves couples having sex (often in the car) in woods designated for that purpose so that others (mainly men) can watch. Others may prefer the privacy and seclusion of places like a private garden or remote rural location.

Some couples may enjoy dressing up or using fantasy role-playing to enact sexual scenarios. Some couples are attracted to tickling, spanking, and other kinky activities. It’s all part of the fun. What attracts depends on a person’s personality and fantasies. Much of this activity is purely sensual for a woman.

A man can tell a woman what he’s thinking while stimulating her from behind. A man should speak in terms of drives, dominance, and possession rather than the graphic details that men enjoy. A man can caress the area between a woman’s thighs (from the clitoris to the anus). He can keep her buttocks apart before her and while she enters her. He can use one hand to hold a woman tight while he dominates her (only with her permission!).

A man should change the pace of his thrusts and the depth of penetration, alternating between stimulating the glans of his penis at the entrance to his lover’s vagina (the most sensitive part) and using longer, deeper thrusts. A man can use his body weight to provide a feeling of dominance. When a man thrusts deeply, the base of his penis strikes against her vulva and perineum (towards the anus). The woman may enjoy mild sensations of arousal, especially when her partner’s groin grinds against her labia and clitoris.

A woman can enjoy the eroticism of being dominated (by full body contact and her weight) and the psychological satisfaction of being penetrated (by knowing that his penis is deep inside her body). Intercourse provides little internal sensation, but a woman can feel external pressure. A man can show affection for her by kissing and caressing her.

BDSM involves the use of physical restraints that limit a person’s range of motion and the acting out of submissive and dominant roles by consenting adults. To increase security, partners use a safe word so that the person in the submissive role can stop all activity. They also discuss beforehand what they agree the limits of allowed activities will be. A less risky version is to use only light restraints and a blindfold to make sex a little more mysterious and increase the sensations of being penetrated and touched by a lover.

Women often conclude that men lack imagination when it comes to sex. This is because intercourse is a relatively mundane repetitive act for a woman, whereas for a man, penetration represents the most erotic situation imaginable. This is natural given the biological sex drive of men. Many men have no need for fantasies of any kind because intercourse is sufficient for their sexual needs. For women, sex is a social experience rather than an erotic one. They expect a lover who is sensitive to their needs, which are more psychological than physical. Women enjoy sensual teasing, sexual anticipation, and feeling desired. All of this takes time, which is difficult for a younger man. Older men, who are less aroused, have the luxury of time to enjoy their own arousal and spend time pleasuring a lover.

As in the human species, it is the male among practically all mammals that initiates the definitive genital union. (Alfredo Kinsey 1953)

starting a business selling tutus

Let’s face it, the economy doesn’t seem to be improving, and sometimes stay-at-home moms’ options are very limited when it comes to trying to generate a second income. More and more women are turning to home-based businesses to help ease some of the burden on their spouses.

Testing your creativity and selling your creations can be a successful money maker.

I started selling tutus on Craigslist, eBay, and by word of mouth. The response was amazing and I was making about $500 a month when I started. It may not sound like much, but for a stay-at-home mom, that extra money got us through tough times. My husband was self-employed and worked from home, so the income he was generating at the time was not constant. That extra couple hundred dollars would cover the purchases.

So whether you just want a little extra cash or want to turn it into a full-time business, making tutus for sale may just be that home business you’re looking for.

Keep in mind that everyone and their moms are making tutus, however there is still a market even when you are just starting out. Over time, you can create your own tutu designs that will set you apart from the competition. Viewers spot the lack of quality immediately. Put a lot of effort into perfecting your technique, and be sure to pay attention to detail when making your tutus.

The great thing about learning how to make tutus is that even if you are not as successful in selling them, you can still make the best gifts and save money since tutus materials are relatively inexpensive.

These are some of the materials you will need to make a tutu.

Tulle Rolls: 6″ by 25 yd rolls are best

Optional: Cutting Mat, Rotary Cutter, and Lip Edger Quilters: Rotary cutter and mat make clean, even cuts. You can use fabric scissors if you can’t find the rotary cutter, mat, and ruler. However, it will take much longer to cut it.

1/2″ wide roll of elastic. You can use a headband elastic for the waist if you want a 100% seamless tutu. No roll elastic is best. I would not go any wider than 3/4″ wide elastic.

Needle and thread – Sew the ends of the elastic together or use an elastic headband for a seamless waist band

Elastic waist construction:

1: measure and cut elastic 2-3″ smaller than the measurement so the waistband will fit snugly around the child’s waist. Overlap the ends of the elastic at least 1/2-1″ and sew both ends of the elastic together. This is the only time you will sew. If you can’t sew, use an elastic headband.

2: You will need between 1-3 rolls for a baby/toddler tutu. Starting at age 4, start with 3-4 rolls. This estimate is for tutus slightly above the knee. Adjust the number of rolls accordingly.

To cut the length of the strips, you can place at least two rolls on top of each other evenly on the cutting mat and unroll the tulle. Align the tulle edge at the 0″ mark on the cutting mat and cut the tulle to the desired length with a rotary cutter. Place a quilting lip edge ruler where you want to make the cut and roll the rotary cutter around the edge of the ruler as a guide can help prevent accidents.

The length of the tutu can be calculated by multiplying the desired length of the tutu by 2 and then adding an additional 2″ to account for the knot you will be tying. Example: length of the tutu (12″) x 2 = 24 + 2 = 26. Cut each strip to 26″ long. Your measurement may be different.

3: Fold the strip of tulle in half so it looks like an inverted “U.” Tuck the folded end behind the elastic waistband. This will create a loop behind and over the top edge of the elastic.

4: From the folded strip, you will notice two “tails” dangling. Take both tail ends of the tulle strip through the loop you have created and pull down to tighten. Make sure not to pull it too tight, as this can overstretch the elastic. It takes some practice to get it right.

5: Tying double knots is another way to secure the tulle to the waistband. Continue tying your knots until you reach the other side. You can tie additional knots to fill in uncovered areas. Try to tie at least 4-5 knots per inch of your original waist measurement. So if you have a 20″ waistband, you should be able to fit 80-100 strips.

If the waistband stretches too far, cut the elastic and re-sew to the original waist measurement.

Embellish your tutu once you have completed the steps above.

Once you’ve perfected your technique, you can start thinking about selling your tutus. Look online and compile a list of tutu vendors and see what they charge. This will help you determine a fair price.

Start by selling online or post photos of your tutus to your Facebook account. You will surely receive word of mouth publicity there. Advertising at local ballet schools could be one route to go. Just make sure it’s not just a basic tutu. Take beautiful photos, because no matter how beautiful a tutu is, no one will see it against a poorly lit and messy background. Find what catches your eye and improve it.

My new favorite website for ideas is Pinterest. Use it and when you build your website, you can start using Pinterest as a marketing tool.

One more important thing about selling… Make sure materials and tutus are labeled in accordance with the new CPSIA labeling laws for children’s products. As of February 2009, all children’s products sold must comply with all aspects of the law and safety regulations, including new limits for lead and phthalates. This is governed by the CPSIA.

Most tulle manufacturers are required to indicate on their website whether their tulle meets CPSIA standards.

Client Co-Marketing – Business Development for Law Firms

Co-customer marketing builds relationships and sends a clear message. Imagine you are the senior intellectual property counsel for a Fortune 100 company. Every law firm within two continents of your head office has begun posting comments, sending out press releases, and publishing articles on the latest landmark ruling; as of this writing, it would be KSR v. Teleflex. There’s an article in a national magazine written by someone from the Smith firm. Someone from the Jones firm has an article in the local legal paper. However, another publication has an article co-authored by the general counsel of a major manufacturer and partner of the Thomas firm on the possible effects of KSR on business and legal management.

There is a good chance that the attorney general’s article will be the first one that you, as an in-house attorney, will read. There’s an equally good chance you’re assuming the Thomas firm represents that company. And, there’s a very good chance you’re also assuming that GC thinks the Thomas firm world lets his good name run in the same vein.

Seems obvious? So why don’t we see more co-written articles? Are customers resistant? One should not think so as it is also just good marketing for them. And, if you offer to do the first draft of the article, the added benefit to the client is that it’s good marketing with relatively little effort.

Here is another example that approximates a recent situation I observed. A partner at a law firm was being profiled in a legal trade publication. Among his major accomplishments is a stellar litigation record on behalf of XYZ Company. During and after the interview, the partner (and his PR firm) urged the reporter to call the AGC at XYZ, not only for quoteable endorsement, but to learn more about the amazing things the client has done internally. to deter lawsuits and reduce internal costs. When the article was finally published, it was about both the client and the law firm, and both benefited equally.

Greatness by Association

To be sure, law firm marketing is not an “us or them” proposition. You can hire in-house consultants and even CEOs as part of your own marketing and business development efforts. They will usually appreciate the request because they also want to be marketed.

Maybe the in-house lawyer is looking for another job and a little notoriety wouldn’t hurt. Or perhaps greater public prominence is politically beneficial in terms of his internal career path. The client may want to highlight the fact that, as in our example above, theirs is the last company in their industry that a smart plaintiff’s attorney should target.

Periodically, certain in-house legal officers emerge as spokespersons for the in-house sector. In the past, such spokespersons (my own memory goes back to Robert Banks at Xerox in the 1980s) have given speeches, written articles, and spearheaded programmatic efforts to articulate what they, as internal advisers, expect from external advisers and how, in general, internal services should evolve.

Right now there seems to be room available for another domestic market leader to emerge. Could that leader be one of your customers? Imagine the marketing benefits your company would gain if you helped it fill that space, especially if your “partnership” became widely known through joint appearances at conferences, for example, or some of the articles mentioned above.

The benefits of the relationship are obvious. Even more important in some respects, by being an identifiable part of the client’s efforts to define and implement new professional standards, you become part of the solution to whatever problem is being discussed. You are now part of a collective campaign, a tight-knit community of buyers and sellers, to improve law firm billing practices or discourage frivolous lawsuits or enhance diversity in the legal profession or in a client’s own industry. The relationship that is generated with the client is very pleasant. The message you are sending to old numbers of other legal service buyers and decision makers is a very, very nice one.

A lot of opportunities

Remember all the favors customers have asked you for: “Take a table”…Donate a silent auction item…Sponsor a hole in a charity golf tournament…Offer a summer associate position to the daughter of CFO at Cornell Law … Make a donation to the GC Law School Alumni Fundraiser.

All of these requests more or less help the clients’ own marketing with little direct benefit to you, but they don’t hesitate to ask. So don’t be shy around them, especially with requests that, as we’ve seen, benefit them at least as much as you do.

We’ve mentioned professional events and publishing as two obvious standout examples of how to market together. But there are other places that will also enhance your relationship and send a valuable message about the company and about you to the broader market. Two in particular deserve mention.

Community Service Projects

First, community service projects offer a number of opportunities, particularly welcome to clients if their businesses sell things to that community. Some community service projects provide a bigger, more national bang for the buck—Habitat for Humanity comes to mind. If there are pro bono awards events, invite the customer to sit at your table.

Diversity

Second, diversity initiatives are highly appreciated by many buyers of legal services. Explore ways for you and your client to contribute to or jointly support non-profit organizations that encourage diversity (for example, Minority Corporate Counsel Association). Don’t be discouraged if your company’s diversity numbers are disappointing. There’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that one of the reasons for their increased involvement is to improve the company’s diversity hiring efforts.

The above examples remind us that joint marketing with customers, like all marketing, is ultimately about delivering value. As we like to emphasize, the person you are marketing to should be better off as a result of doing so, regardless of whether or not they invest in their services as an immediate result. Through co-marketing with customers, this “value proposition” operates in a uniquely multifaceted way.

Worth

“Value” is delivered to the market through the content of a speech or article – this is a problem that plagues our industry, and this is how a corporate expert and outside adviser assess it.

“Value” is simultaneously delivered to the community and to the profession as a result of specific actions, such as pro bono efforts and diversity initiatives.

The “value” is delivered to your customers because they have their own serious marketing agendas. By joining you in efforts to help the profession, your own industry, and the community at large, you directly advance those agendas.

For the law firm, leverage is powerful: You create tangible credibility in the face of invisible corporate decision-makers, even as you take a single major client relationship to a whole new, collaborative level. It’s a no-brainer. Call a client today and brainstorm projects.

Legal Law

How can lawyers defend criminals?

The most common question I am faced with as a Washington State criminal defense attorney is: “How do you defend criminals?” This question is generally based on two assumptions: 1. the defendant is obviously guilty; and 2. by defending him, you are trying to let this obviously guilty person get away with it. As you will see, these assumptions turn out to be incorrect.

arrest does not equal guilt

It is tempting to think that a Defendant must be guilty because the police arrested him for something. However, the law has a very different standard for judging when an arrest is valid and when a conviction is required.

A valid arrest requires probable cause. This term is defined in different ways, but generally exists when the facts and circumstances known to the arresting officer are reliable enough to cause a reasonable person to believe that a crime has been committed. If you think about that definition for a while, it becomes apparent that it’s actually a very low standard; and should be

The rule is designed to ensure that there is some evidence before an arrest is made, but balance the requirements of how strong that evidence is with the speed of decision required to catch criminals.

Here’s an example: A woman tells the police that a man stole her bag. The police question the man and he denies knowing anything about the bag. Finally, the wallet cannot be located. Under Probable Cause, there would be enough to warrant the man’s arrest since the woman said she stole his bag. Do we know if she did it or not? No. Should we let the judicial system determine if the man is guilty or not? Of course!

Knowing that an arrest simply starts the judicial process, officers often err in making an arrest in a close decision; as they should. Even the instructions read to jurors emphasize the point, stating that the fact that the defendant has been arrested has no bearing on whether or not he or she is guilty of the crime of which he or she is charged.

Beyond a reasonable doubt

We’ve all heard it on TV, but the standard in a criminal case is “Beyond a reasonable doubt.” But what does that mean? The term “reasonable doubt” can be defined differently, but generally it is:

One for which there is a reason and can come from evidence or lack of evidence. It is a doubt such as would exist in the mind of a reasonable person after fully, fairly, and carefully considering all the evidence or lack of evidence.

If we needed to convince a police officer beyond a reasonable doubt before he could arrest someone, all the “bad guys” would get away before the officer concluded his investigation.

What do you do if someone is guilty?

If someone is guilty, there is nothing a lawyer can do about it. keep that in mind

A jury is made up of normal people. No matter how skilled the lawyer is, if the defendant is obviously guilty, the jury will convict. In this case, the attorney’s job is two-part: finding out what charges the defendant is actually guilty of, and making sure the sentence is rational.

overloaded

People are often accused of more, that is, accused of more than the State can prove. An example of this is when someone is charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and reckless driving. Very few DUI cases also meet the standards required for reckless driving. In this case, if the defendant is guilty of DUI but is not reckless, a good criminal defense attorney should be able to get the reckless driving charge dismissed even if the defendant is ultimately convicted of DUI.

rational judgment

Once a defendant is found guilty, the court’s next job is to impose sentence. The lawyer’s job becomes to make sure that the sentence is appropriate for the crime charged and the criminal history of the defendant. As a general rule, the more criminal convictions someone has, the more severely they will be sentenced for any new charges. Sometimes, however, the prosecution will seek to punish someone with little or no history in the same way that they would a career criminal. By sentencing first-time criminals and professional criminals alike, we do not reward people who have basically lived a good life or sufficiently punish those who choose a life of crime.

What to do if the State cannot prove the charge?

There are two main categories of cases where the prosecution fails to prove its case, either at the outset or at trial.

at first

There are often times when the prosecution simply does not have any proof that the defendant is guilty of a crime. In this case, you can file a Motion to Dismiss and ask a judge to review the evidence to see if a dismissal is required. This motion may require witnesses to appear and testify or it may be based on the police reports themselves.

at trial

If the prosecution has evidence that someone is guilty, that is not the end of the matter. How strong is that evidence? Are the witnesses credible? Do they have a grudge against the defendant? The heart of our judicial system is trial by jury. A trial is literally the first time someone hears ALL the evidence. Evidence can be stressful, but in a closed case it can be a life saver.

Technicalities and the Law

I often hear people say that a defendant got away due to some technicality. There are no “technicalities” in the Law, there is only The Law. Should it apply to everyone or should we allow the government to be immune from law enforcement? If the police violate the law, the remedy can range from the suppression of evidence to the dismissal of the case altogether.

The judicial system is our best attempt to create a process that is fair. However, like any system, it is only as good as the people who work on it. Defending people accused of crimes is not about “helping them get away with murder” but about ensuring that everyone is treated fairly. At The Cahoon Law Office, we still focus on one client at a time and ensure that all of our clients’ legal defenses and rights are utilized and protected.

How to seduce a woman without touching her? (Top 6 New Great Tips)

If you want to seduce a woman without touching her, you must introduce her to the adult world. You have to light the flames of her sexuality and awaken her emotions.

“SEDUCTION IS ABOUT INTRODUCING A WOMAN INTO THE WORLD OF ADULTS.”

The vast majority of women are not very easy. In fact, they are very complicated creatures. For example, when a man walks into a room, he just looks for a chair to sit on. On the other hand, when a woman walks into a room, she notices multiple things in one glance. She notices her background, location and surroundings before deciding on her chair. Some women even notice whether or not her dress suits the bottom.

This shows that a woman is completely different from a man. She notices things in extreme detail. Therefore, to seduce a woman without touching her, you must also pay attention to the details.

Here are some splendid tips that will definitely help you seduce a woman without touching her.

1. TALK LIKE A DETECTIVE.

One of the first things you need to realize is that you embody your status to the world through your voice. It is extremely important that you enhance the power of her voice to seduce a woman without touching her.

“Never raise your voice at the end of your sentence while speaking.” Make your voice low at the end of sentences. When you finish sentences smoothly, you automatically project your authority and direct his state of mind with your dominance. This is the detectives’ secret that makes girls tremble. Furthermore, vampires also talk like detectives and finish their sentences quietly. That’s why; vampires are extremely seductive to women.

2. ANKLETS ARE VERY EROTIC FOR A WOMAN.

There is no doubt that anklets keep a woman erotic all day long. Give her anklets to arouse her sexual emotions for you. Anklets will not only keep her erotic but also make her think of you all day long. Anklets are one of the best ways to seduce a woman without touching her.

3. MAKE HER DRESS RED.

The color red biologically appeals to almost everyone. A woman feels immensely energetic after wearing a red colored dress because it is a color of love.

To arouse your sexual feelings, ask your woman to wear a red colored dress. You can give her a red lingerie or bikini. Even the most prudish woman can be seduced quite easily with a red colored dress/gift because the color red stimulates a woman’s sexual feelings and transforms her into a seductive lady.

4. BE A HANDYMAN.

It becomes easier to seduce a woman when you act like a handyman. Most men trust others instead of acting with their own hands. They become unable to do their own comprehensive things. Therefore, women often avoid being with them.

On the other hand, a handyman creates sexual energy due to his habit of taking action. He fixes something in his house, washes his car, cooks special dishes, mows the lawn and makes coffee, etc. He loves to take action, it projects the masculinity of him. A woman feels positive sexual energy in the presence of a handyman.

5. MASTER YOUR MIND.

One way to seduce a woman without touching her is to control her mind. Women have been attracted to men who dominate their minds, make them laugh, and share interesting stories. If you want to dominate a woman’s mind completely, you must learn the art of storytelling.

“THE COMBINATION OF CURIOSITY AND FUN IN YOUR CONVERSATION AWAKENS SEXUAL FEELINGS IN A WOMAN.”

To arouse a woman’s sexual feelings, make her laugh with your stories, stimulate her mind with curiosity, and stay original. When you make a girl laugh while keeping her curious through your stories, you easily arouse her sexual feelings for you.

Remember, you would put yourself in their friend category without generating curiosity. Curiosity is essential to keep women on their toes all the time.

Guys make women laugh. On the other hand, adults arouse women’s sexual feelings with curiosity and amusement. Adults are the real sexual men for women.

6. SEDUCTIVE BODY LANGUAGE.

A woman can immediately recognize your body language. Most of the advice preaches about basic body language, but a woman notices you in great detail. It is very difficult for an average man to hide his real personality and project seductive body language.

If you want to seduce a woman with your seductive body language, here are some tips that will help you a lot throughout your life.

• Never nod quickly. It is a sign of eagerness and impatience. You project yourself as an impatient boy instead of a real masculine man.

• Keep your eyebrows relaxed. When you display confident body language, you often forget to relax your eyebrows. When a woman looks at your raised eyebrows, she immediately understands that you are not comfortable and that you are trying to hide your inner emotion.

• Your facial expressions are very attractive to women. Have you ever thought why Johnny Depp is extremely attractive to women? It’s because he has an artistic face and makes women melt with his facial expressions. Your eyebrows are integral to making your expressions attractive. So he fixes your eyebrows and corrects your expressions to seduce a woman.
