The best way to clean cat condos

Cat condos need to be cleaned from time to time, just like all of your other furniture. There is nothing worse than buying cat furniture for your pets to have a space of their own and then not maintaining it like you would the rest of your furniture. Cats are very good at grooming themselves, but not so good at keeping your furniture clean.

The first thing to do is take the pieces apart as best you can, especially if you have a tall tower cat condo setup. Cleaning when furniture is fully assembled makes it difficult to get into all the nooks and crannies.

You can then use a tool specifically designed to remove pet hair and brush the exterior; however, sometimes these won’t make it into those tight spaces. An alternative is to put on a rubber glove and submerge it under water. With the glove slightly damp, rub your hand over the gaps and dig into the cracks.

The next step in cleaning cat condos is vacuuming. Use the attachment and go over surface areas to remove dust and dirt that settles on the fibers. If there are stains on the carpeted surface, you can treat them as you would a stain on your floor. You should first treat the stained area by following the directions on the label of the solution you choose. Be sure to thoroughly rinse the area with a mild soap and water mixture so no harmful chemicals remain.

Lastly, it eliminates odours. If the odor is slight, you can simply spray it with a fabric freshener. If the smell of cat condos seems to have penetrated, then opt for a granular formula and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

When the cleanup is done, put the cat furniture back together. Just like you did when you first set up your cat condos, be sure to test for safety. All accessories must be firm to prevent accidental tipping over. This simple cleaning routine should be done as needed to prolong the life and enjoyment of your cat’s furniture.
