Paleo Diet – Lose weight and eat healthy

Paleo Diet: Basics

Do I need a Paleo Diet Plan?

50,000 years ago, when men were hunters and gatherers, it was okay to “eat” to build up layers of fat, as that would be useful in the winter when food was hard to come by. That’s not a problem anymore. Today, we get a constant supply of processed and refined foods like chocolates, sodas, and sugars, which are really bad for us.

They cannot be synthesized by the kidney and liver fast enough, as they contain a lot of simple carbohydrates, which are metabolized in the body and stored as fat. Therefore, we must change the way we eat and adopt a diet plan that supports our natural biorhythms, instead of compromising them.

This is why you need a Paleo Diet Plan. What is the Paleo Diet? The Paleo Diet for Beginners is simply the healthiest way to eat because it’s unique: It works in tune with your genetics to help keep you lean and strong for much longer and gives you the energy boost you need.

The paleo diet food list consists of foods that your digestive system, liver, kidneys, and intestines can work with ease, along with the glandular system. A Paleo Diet involves only eating foods that humans had adapted to before the onset of industrialization and the social and environmental changes it brought about. So the faster you make paleo recipes a part of your daily eating habits, the sooner you’ll begin to experience the transformation.

So what to expect from a Paleo diet beginner?

First of all, there is no one right way to eat works for everyone. Humans in the Paleolithic era lived on a variety of foods. Well, they didn’t really have much of a choice when it came to food and basically ate whatever they could get their hands on. Some ate high-protein, low-carbohydrate animal foods, while others preferred plant-based foods.

Paleo snacks or Paleo breakfast ideas are rich and varied; you may have your own preferences when it comes to Paleo diet recipes. But they are based on some sensible principles, like avoiding highly processed foods or anything that looks factory-made, like bread. Instead of bread, take gluten-free Paleo bread, it has no wheat or grains.

Avoid any food that contains the following ingredients:

– Dairy: Avoid milk and dairy products completely. However, some Paleo recipes include butter and cheese.)
– Sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup: Avoid fruit juices, table sugar, ice cream, soft drinks and pastries.
– Artificial sweeteners: Avoid artificial sweeteners such as sucralose, saccharin and acesulfame potassium.
– Cereals: Avoid wheat, bread and pasta, as well as rye, barley and spelled.
– Vegetables: Avoid beans, lentils and many more.
– Vegetable oils: Avoid sunflower oil, soybean oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, grapeseed oil, and safflower oil.
– Trans Fats: Completely avoid trans fats (also called partially hydrogenated oils) found in many types of processed foods.

Paleo Diet List – What You Can Have

You can have as much real, unprocessed food as you need. These are the foods you can use for your Paleo breakfast ideas or Paleo snacks. The general rule of thumb is to have organic, grass-fed, or pasture-raised foods. If such foods aren’t readily available to you, or if they’re not within your budget, be sure to choose the least processed foods on the market.

– Meats: Beef, chicken, lamb, pork, etc.
– Vegetables: Have leafy green vegetables like kale, spinach, as well as cauliflower, broccoli, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, carrots, and more.
– Fruits: Have tasty and colorful fruits like apples, oranges, bananas, pears, strawberries, blueberries, pineapples and more
– Fish and Seafood: Have wild fish such as salmon, shrimp, trout, shellfish, etc.
– Eggs: Always have eggs enriched with Omega-3.

– Healthy fats and oils: Have olive oil, coconut oil and avocado oil.
– Salt: Only carry sea salt or Himalayan salt.
– Water: Have plenty of water and make sure you always stay hydrated.
– Tea and Coffee: It is good to drink tea and coffee as they are rich in antioxidants. Green tea is considered particularly healthy.
– Tubers: Have potatoes, sweet potatoes, turnips and sweet potatoes
– Nuts and Seeds: Have almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, pumpkin seeds and more.

Dark Chocolate: Dark chocolate with a high cocoa content is considered very nutritious as well as tasty. It’s a delicious indulgence to have.

Asset allocation based on beta and alpha drivers

Asset allocation is one of the main concerns of portfolio management. Asset allocation answers several questions. What risk-return trade-off are we comfortable with? In other words, how much risk are we willing to take to achieve a certain level of active return? At each level of active return there is an equal amount of risk. Many portfolio managers are judged simply on the performance they have achieved without further analysis of the risk they took to produce that performance. This is why we have seen the arrival of new rogue traders like Kweku Odoboli. These traders want to take positions that will provide a certain amount of return to meet their strict benchmarks.

Asset allocation can be done using alpha or beta drivers. Alpha drivers measure the manager’s ability to generate a so-called active return. Active return is the difference between the benchmark index and the actual return. Alpha is more aggressive and aims to achieve returns above established benchmarks. Alpha Controllers are typically classified as Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA). TAA facilitates an investor’s long-term funding goals when seeking additional yield. It focuses on arbitrage in that it takes advantage of unbalanced market fundamentals. TAA requires more frequent trading than Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) to produce additional returns.

Beta drivers are the more traditional investment techniques that aim to meet benchmarks. It involves the systematic capture of existing risk premiums. Beta drivers are used in the construction of SAA. This type of allocation crystallizes the investment policy of an institutional investor. This process highlights strategic benchmarks tied to broad asset classes that set policy/beta/market risk. This type of allocation is not designed to beat the market and must meet organizations’ long-term funding goals, such as defined benefit pension plans.

Extensive classes of Alpha controllers
1. Long or short investment
2. Absolute return strategies (hedge funds)
3. Market segmentation
4. Concentrated portfolios
5. Non-linear return processes (payment similar to an option)
6. Alternative cheap beta (anything outside of the normal stock/bond portfolio)

Typical Asset Allocation for an Institutional Portfolio

Equity 40%
Fixed Income 30%
Real Estate 15%
Inflation protection 15%

Breakdown of the portion of capital

Strategic equity allocation could be broken down into the following subclasses:
Beta drivers – 60%
• Passive equity
• 130-30
• Improved indexed equity

Alpha drivers – 40%
• Private capital
• Distressed debt

Convertible bonds have a hybrid structure that is a mix of equity and fixed income securities, so they can be included in either the equity or fixed income category.

Fixed income portfolio

This section of the portfolio can also be divided into alpha and beta drivers. The fixed income portfolio may be used in the following way:

Beta drivers – 60%
• US Treasury bonds.
• Investment grade corporate bonds
• Agency mortgage-backed securities

Alpha drivers – 40%
• Convertible bonds, high yield bonds and intermediate debt
• Collateralized debt obligation (CDO) and collateralized loan obligation (CLO)
• Hedge fund strategies based on fixed income, relative value of fixed income arbitrage, distressed debt

15% inflation hedge

This is an investment strategy that aims to provide a cushion against the risk of a currency losing value. Other investments may produce returns in excess of inflation, but inflation hedging is specifically designed to preserve the value of a currency. Here’s how you can split the inflation hedge portion of your portfolio:

TIPS (Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities) 20%
Infrastructure 20%
Commodities 20%
Natural resources 20%
Inflation-oriented stocks 20%

15% real asset allocation

Real estate is a form of investment with limited liquidity compared to other investments, it is also very capital intensive (although capital can be obtained through mortgage leverage) and is highly dependent on cash flow. Due to these realities, it is important that this section of the portfolio does not make up the majority of the portfolio. You could structure your real estate portfolio in the following way:

Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) 40%
Direct investment 30%
Private real estate capital 15%
Specialized 15%

However, it is very important to note that option-like securities are very risky and should be used with extreme caution. This is what brought down the UK’s oldest commercial bank and is what Warren Buffet describes as “financial weapons of mass destruction”. Portfolio management should be done as conservatively as possible. This means that the majority of the portfolio should be strategic and the minority tactical. It is also highly advisable to have caps on the search alpha positions an institution can pursue and to have a waterproof internal control system to curb dishonest trading.

Strut Bar: is it really necessary in your car?

Strut Bars are the evolutionary aftermarket addition to regular McPherson Struts. Usually a favorite in car customization and an integral part of heavy trucks and SUVs, strut bars are now finding their place in the sun when it comes to regular small cars as well.

People consider additional struts, especially horizontal bars, as high-performance additions to their cars. There is a general belief that McPherson struts or independent suspensions can be unstable at higher speeds. As an added feature to increase stability, the independent suspensions on each side of the vehicle are linked by a common horizontal bar called the Strut Bar.

The two suspensions on each side when connected by a common link experience reduced flex between them and that provides much needed stability at higher speeds. This is an important feature in large heavy duty vehicles and performance cars, but what makes people think rebar can stabilize their small cars? Do smaller cars really need stability?

Well, the answer is No. Unless you’re traveling at really high speeds, which you shouldn’t do with normal cars anyway, you definitely don’t need additional struts to support your car’s suspension. Auto experts believe that horizontal struts have become popular as a high-performance addition to cars in the name of car customization. There’s no real need for regular cars to have extra struts, but in case someone wants their vehicle to have one, there’s no serious damage either.

At best, the additional struts will make your car’s suspension stiffer, reducing ride comfort, especially on rougher terrain. Since the suspensions are linked together, there may be a slight vibration on rough roads due to reduced independent movement. Also, the added weight of the strut can decrease gas mileage to some extent. In case you are hell-bent on repairing additional struts on your vehicle, make sure you ask an expert mechanic to do it or else there may be serious performance issues with your car’s suspension.

Most sports cars, light and heavy duty trucks, SUVs, 4x4s and ATVs are available with reinforcement bars as standard equipment.

So what kind of vehicles need a reinforcement bar if they don’t have one as standard equipment?

If you are tuning your regular car to run at higher speeds and exhibit higher accelerations or fueling it with turbochargers and NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems), then the booster bar will be a useful addition to the package. If you own a larger vehicle and don’t have a reinforcement bar as a standard accessory, you should invest in one. In that case, I’d suggest used rebar, since they’re almost a third of the cost of new.

To conclude, you are the best person to assess whether or not your car needs a reinforcement bar. Although it is not a decision to weigh, you can weigh the pros and cons depending on the type of vehicle you own and the type of use you subject it to.

Common sense is no longer common

A few weeks ago, I was doing a therapy session with a couple who were having a very heated argument. The language was harsh and they were not making any progress towards solving the problem.

I jumped in with a tip. The husband immediately turned to the screen and said, “Linda, that sounds too much like common sense. I don’t know how to handle common sense because there’s nothing like that in the world anymore.” Fortunately, we all laughed and that broke the tension.

But what he said was also sad. Common sense is NOT common, and definitely doesn’t make sense to everyone.

People are used to taking advice from outside of themselves and then blaming the source if things don’t go their way. There are so many social media influencers that might not offer truth or wisdom. Strangers posting may not even be telling the truth about their names, age, location, or history. They have nothing to lose by giving bad or inappropriate advice.

The other day I heard a man give a presentation where he said, “If you’re a Christian, ask God for advice. If you’re a Muslim, ask Allah. If you don’t have faith, ask your mother or grandmother because they usually have the answers”. This made me laugh because there was a lot of truth in this. I have received so much great advice from my grandmothers over the years and I am grateful that as a grandmother I am able to pass it on to my grandchildren.

There are ways to develop common sense. Here are some that I have learned over the years:

1. Learn to make decisions without going to others for help. I often see people at the grocery store who can’t pick out a box of laundry detergent without texting or calling someone for guidance. Read the labels, think about the machine you have and choose!

2. Value mistakes. I traveled to California for the graduation of a grandson who had earned his degree in marketing. The main speaker was a professional golfer who told how she encourages her students not to be afraid of failure. She took each letter of the word FAIL to define her concept of “First Attempt Learning”.

3. Be cautious. There’s an old expression: “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and shakes like a duck, it’s probably a duck!” He doesn’t jump into something that feels wrong, no matter who is cheering him on.

4. Take responsibility. One of the hardest things I face is trying to help people who are “victims” of everyone and everything. They blame, blame, blame and never see the part they played in the problem. We have all been hurt by life at some point and we have all had other people who have betrayed us. Disappointment appears in different forms over the years. Each of us, however, has the ability to make decisions and start anew today.

Develop a positive network. Toxic people and activities can bring us down. We need to have people in our lives who can inspire and help us. Look for people who have done well. I never, for example, take financial advice from someone who is poor! Find those who have been successful in the areas you want to be successful in as they know the way to help you reach your goal!

Low Carb Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups heavy cream

1/2 cup cocoa

4 egg yolks

4 large eggs

1 cup of peanut butter

3/4 cup erythritol or similar artificial sweetener (blue agave works too!)

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

pinch of kosher salt

1/4 cup plain/unsweetened almond milk

2-3 teaspoons of gelatin mixed with 3-4 tablespoons of water (optional)

2 ounces chopped extra dark chocolate (90%) without sugar or chocolate chips (optional)

4 tablespoons MCT oil or 2 tablespoons vodka or 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum (all optional to reduce coldness)

Note: You may need to play around with the sweeteners and cocoa ratio a bit to appease your personal preference. However, the base of cream, milk and egg will provide the consistency. MCT oil, vodka, and xanthan gum are popular choices for reducing ice and hardness while frozen, while gelatin will also help keep ice cream smooth by adding a bit of richness and creaminess to the texture. However, if you don’t have those ingredients on hand or find them superfluous to the preparation process, then leave them out, especially if you plan on eating your ice cream sooner rather than later.

Preparation

Prepare an ice bath (ice water container). In a separate bowl (slightly smaller than the ice bath bowl), whisk together the egg yolks, eggs, sweetener, and vanilla extract.

Put the cream and cocoa in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Add half of the cream mixture to the eggs to temper and mix. Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the contents of the bowl back into the saucepan. Stir with a spoon for 10-15 seconds and remove from heat. The mixture should be thick enough to coat the back of the spoon, but if the eggs curdle, then they’re overcooked and won’t work.

Return the entire mixture to the container and place over the ice bath. Whisk together salt, almond milk, and peanut butter. This is the step where you whisk in the MCT oil, vodka or xanthan gum, and/or gelatin (plus water).

Let the mixture cool to room temperature for 1 hour.

Pour the contents into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The shake usually takes between 30 and 60 minutes. If adding chocolate, fold it in after the ice cream mixture finishes churning.

It can be served immediately or poured into a container to freeze. Freezing will firm it up a bit, but it will need to sit for 10-20 minutes to soften before serving if frozen for more than a few hours.

Legal Law

Everything you need to know about divorce lawyers

When you’re going through a divorce, you shouldn’t make the most common mistake most people make: going it alone. To be safe, hire a divorce attorney.

Benefits of Hiring a Divorce Lawyer

When you hire an attorney, he/she will help you in many areas. Some of these areas include:

Submit the paperwork: If you decide to go to court, you will be required to fill out a lot of paperwork, and this can be intimidating for you, especially if this is your first time. You should be aware that the judge relies heavily on the documents that he files with the court; therefore, it is paramount that he fills them out accurately and at the right time. If you leave out some crucial information, the court could consider you naive, which can be fatal in your case.

A divorce attorney has been involved in numerous similar scenarios; therefore, it will be easy for you to complete the documents and file them in court.

objective advice: Divorce is often an emotional time. During this time, you feel sad, betrayed, depressed, confused, and vindictive. When you have all these emotions, it’s hard to make the right decision. To give yourself time to work through your emotions, hire a family law attorney to handle your case. The professional will take the load off your shoulders. When you have to communicate with your ex, the lawyer will guide you on what to say and what to avoid. The professional will also guide you on how to handle yourself in court.

Many options: Most people think that when faced with divorce cases the only way out is to wait for the judge to make a decision. It’s good to know there are plenty of other options you can go with. For example, you can have a session with your former spouse and come to an agreement. The attorney will present you with the various options and help you choose the best one for your situation.

Tips for working with a divorce attorney

In order to facilitate the task of the divorce lawyer, you should take into account a series of tips. Some of these tips include:

do not lie: This is probably the biggest mistake you should avoid making. Some people try to hide their assets and lie to their lawyers. This is wrong as it causes the attorney to present inaccurate information in court. In the event that the judge knows that you are withholding information, your image will be damaged, which will jeopardize your chances of obtaining a favorable hearing.

Choose a cheap lawyer: To save money, some people want the cheapest lawyer they can find. You should be aware that cheap lawyers are usually inexperienced. Because of this, they do not have the experience to handle the process professionally. This increases your chances of losing the case.

conclusion

Here’s what you need to know when going through divorce. To have an easy time, work with a reputable divorce attorney.

Lessons from Near Death Experiences Part 6 of 9

Have you ever wondered what will happen after the death of your physical body? Some believe that they will cease to exist. Others, who had an NDE (near death experience), returned to the living to share their vision from the other side, which happened when their physical body “died”, but their soul continued to live.

The Near Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF) is the world’s largest NDE website with over 4,000 experiences in over 23 languages.

It is reasonable to question metaphysical concepts, and the NDERF site’s FAQ page addresses common questions and has helpful information about NDEs.

We’ve read the NDE stories on the NDERF site and selected the ones we found most informative to share with you.

Leonard NDE 4046 had a heart attack and experienced a painful life review during his NDE. He said that he cannot imagine the pain that Adolf Hitler felt during his. He showed himself to Leonard when he did things unconditionally and when he did things without love. He even saw himself stealing candy from a store, thinking to himself that no one saw him do it. “Certainly,” he said he, “someone saw me. Yes, God saw me!” However, he realized during his life review that God does not judge, but loves with an indescribable unconditional love that goes far beyond what we feel on Earth.

He also said that he and his guides laughed at the seriousness with which he reacted to certain events on Earth; life doesn’t need to be so dramatic.

Furthermore, Leonard learned that we lose our memory of who we are every time we incarnate, there are billions of universes, and we can choose to incarnate on planets other than Earth. Our findings also reflect this.

Stella NDE 3697. Most souls who experience an NDE feel so wonderful on the other side that they don’t want to return to their restrictive bodies and lives on Earth. But do not want to return to their loved ones? Many do, especially when their children need their help on Earth. However, when Stella protested at her guidance to return to Earth, he asked her if she missed her mother and her father. She said no, because she will soon see them again (since time doesn’t exist there).

Stella’s guide showed her life as a journey. There were important and destined events symbolized by marble statues, while others were made of soft clay, which meant that it was possible to use free will to alter them. She realized that, “A series of free will choices and reactions to events determines the conditions for meeting destiny or losing it. It is so free that one can always try and try again: no matter how long or how long it takes.” “. where it happens, time and space do not exist, the only important thing is to ‘meet the conditions’ to arrive at the right destination”.

Linda G NDE 3649 experienced her NDE during a drug overdose. Like most of the others, she said that the other side felt at home and that she didn’t want to leave. She still, she asked God if she could return to Earth because her children lost her father to suicide the year before and she couldn’t bear the thought that they thought her parents didn’t love them. enough to stay. She was allowed to return because she was selfless and she desperately wanted him.

He was told that upon his return to Earth, he would forget everything he had learned from the other side because it would interfere with his life. This is common, however some souls remember many details when they return to Earth, sometimes to help others with understanding.

He did remember that we all go to Earth to fulfill a goal of some sort, and we choose our bodies, parents, and life plan. Surprisingly, he said that some souls go to Earth for simple goals, like food or learning a sport.

He also learned that each life is “just a drop of water in the bucket of lives we all experience, many here on Earth and many in other realms of existence. All to learn and grow and the main purpose is to love.”

Foods to keep away from your dog

As dog lovers, we want to pamper our furry family members all the time. Especially when it comes to sharing the things we love with them. Unfortunately, not everything that is good for us is also good for our pets. Listed below are a number of foods that you should keep away from your dogs.

1. Chocolate (and caffeine): Now, even if you’ve never owned a dog of your own, you probably know that chocolate is toxic to dogs. What you may not know is that this extends to coffee and caffeine as well. All these elements come from cocoa beans, which contain methylxanthines. This is known to cause numerous ill effects in dogs and even death. They should be kept away from your pets.

2. Grapes and Raisins – This one might not be that well known, and that might be because the reason behind it is also somewhat unknown, but grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs. It is best to avoid giving any of these to your dog.

3. Salt – When ingested in large amounts, salt can cause excessive thirst and urination in pets. This can lead to severe dehydration and even sodium ion poisoning, so it’s best to limit the salty snacks you give your dogs. Some common salty snacks to watch out for may include pretzels, chips, popcorn, etc.

4. Bread – This common table food can cause bloating and twisting in your dog’s stomach. This extends to all forms of bread, from sliced to baked. Also, when eating raw dough, the ethanol produced by the yeast can make your dog drunk. You obviously don’t want that, so you’ll want to keep all forms of bread away from your puppies.

5. Bones – Dogs are famous for their love of bones, however, giving them table bones can be very harmful to them. Certain bones like chicken and ribs are prone to breaking easily. This can damage your dogs throat and even suffocate them. Bones can also splinter at any point as you descend, potentially damaging your insides and stomach. It’s best to give your dogs only bones made especially for chewing, like the ones you can find at your local pet store.

recent bankruptcy? It is not impossible to obtain a mortgage loan

Since the new bankruptcy laws took effect on October 17, 2005, more Americans than ever before are filing for relief using the federal bankruptcy laws. The vast majority are simply overburdened and cannot pay their open obligations.

However, for many applicants, the opportunity to own a home may be possible immediately upon discharge. Ironically, some who previously did not qualify for a mortgage do qualify after bankruptcy.

How is that possible? An example of this is Dave Olson (a fictional character). He earns $4,000 a month, spends $1,000 on rent, $250 on car payments, and $2,000 on minimum credit card payments. This person’s DTI* (debt-to-income) ratio is 81.25%. Since his credit score is low (mid 600 FICO), the only option is a mortgage that requires full documentation. Most of those loans require a maximum DTI of 50-55%.

Chapter 7 bankruptcy is filed and Dave gets a discharge. He reaffirms his car loan and still rents for $1,000/month. However, now his monthly debt is much less ($1,000 + 250)/4,000=31.25%.

In fact, bankruptcy has increased your chances of obtaining financing for a purchase. Many times, the credit score is the same after bankruptcy as it was before filing (unless creditors report it incorrectly). By filing simple dispute letters with all three credit bureaus, those discrepancies can be cleared up in a few months.

It makes sense that borrowers are more prepared to borrow for home purchases after bankruptcy because they can’t file Chapter 7 for 6 years, their obligations are reduced, and the property being purchased is insured. That means the lender can repossess the property if payments are not made on time.

There are a few things to keep in mind if you are buying a home after a recently discharged bankruptcy.

1) A down payment is not always necessary, but it will improve the rate.

2) Most people opt for an Adjustable Rate Mortgage (ARM) as the rates are much lower than a fixed one and they plan to refinance in 2-3 years.

3) Most of these loans have a prepayment penalty that coincides with the fixed term of the financing.

4) Most lenders require canceled checks or verification of rent paid no later than 30 days in the last 12 months.

5) A pre-bankruptcy foreclosure is hard to beat. A foreclosure as a result of bankruptcy generally does not count.

Everyone’s situation is different. To ensure the best service, be sure to contact an experienced mortgage originator who will take the time to listen to your situation and explain all the possibilities. It shouldn’t cost you anything to ask.

Top 10 Things Every Bestselling Book Should Have

If you talk to any author, they will tell you that writing their book was the easiest part, compared to marketing it and getting people to buy it!

You can go to any bookstore and get a book on how to publish your book or do a Google search on book publishing. (I recommend Dan Poynter’s Desktop Publishing Manual; he’s been called the desktop publishing guru.) You can even get a good editor to help you draft your manuscript. If you really don’t want to do that much work and want to publish your book quickly, you can go to “iuniverse” or “lulu” and have the books you need produced. This is called Print-On-Demand (POD) – great for first-time authors; they take your Word document and turn it into a book. FedEx Kinkos is even in the book production game.

The production of a book is now quite common. That’s why we see so many people making books.

But are the books selling? Once the books return from the printer/publisher, the real work begins. It’s time to promote and sell your book. You just opened a business. Like any new business, you need a business plan as well as extensive knowledge of the field you are in and good advisors. One standard stat you should know according to book industry sources: More than 150,000 new books are published each year. And we usually see the same list of authors on the New York Times bestseller list.

As a book publisher for over ten years in the Christian literary field, I see what flies and what vanishes. Before you embark on this expensive venture (prepare to spend at least $2,500 up to $10,000 on editing, production, and promotion), I’d like to share with you what I’ve learned about what makes a bestseller:

1. Title – Is it exciting, interesting? Would one know what it is about without reading anything else?

two. cover– People judge a book by its cover. Make sure it has enough punch to stand out on the shelves among thousands of other books. Is it clean, neat and crisp, but interesting? Hire a professional!

3. endorsements – What others say about you is key. Who these people are is even more important. Gather the “best words from the best people.” It will prevent your book even before you open your mouth.

Four. writer’s credentials – Do you have anything else with your signature? Do you have a blog? Do you have an audience that really likes what you write?

5. Market Knowledge will reach the book – and the author’s reputation in that market. The author must create a market for himself by really addressing the needs of that market, knowing that market, and communicating the right message to that market.

6. Moment – in relation to other events happening in the world/society. Are there movies, songs, or talk shows that mention the topic you’ve discussed in your book? Do you read the newspaper regularly and respond with op-eds when “your” platform/issue is being discussed?

7. Advertising – deliver the right message to the right media at the right time. Consequently!

8. media coverage – advertising. The icing on the cake. Get on the radio, TV and in newspapers and magazines and Ezines. Consistently (with advertising too).

9. Distribution – If you want to be a best-seller you must have your book available. Be sure to sign up with a distributor or wholesaler to make it accessible to bookstores. (Amazon is not national distribution…it’s a website) Bestsellers are sold in real bookstores and only order from distributors or wholesalers. (See Sally Stuart’s Christian Writers Market Guide for distributors to approach. Note: You must have a strong press kit and marketing plan to be considered).

10 mouth to mouth – The best publicity. The more “buzz” you have about your book, the better. How do you get people to talk about your book? Getting involved in their culture and creating messages in their media. Be ruthless in your goal of being a “best seller,” and it will happen if you commit to the publicity process and pray for favors.
