Do young competitive fighters have any advantage in life?

You may not have even considered what I’m going to say, but as a former competitive athlete I know what I’m talking about. Much of what I want to say has to do with basic life skills, and the rest has to do with maintaining a winning attitude. So what is a winning attitude anyway? Well, it’s a lot like a “can do” belief system in the sense that nothing is impossible and that anything can be accomplished with enough practice, hard work, willpower, and perseverance.

You see, I actually believe that, and in hindsight, looking back, I believe that my winning attitude in life may actually trump other types of belief systems judging by achievements (scoreboard) in life. Yes, let’s talk. Now I was a track and field star, that’s a lot different from a wrestler, although I’d say the workouts are just as exhausting at times.

In fact, in my youth I often crossed paths with, but not with, wrestlers struggling to gain endurance and leg strength. They ran laps, stadium steps and also long distances. They did wind races until they couldn’t stand up anymore and then they did sit-ups until it hurt so bad they couldn’t do another one, then they started with the weights in the gym. When it came time for their matches, they had to be at or below weight. They sacrificed, trained, and beat their bodies so the competition couldn’t do it.

What does all this tell me? They tell me that their endurance and perseverance against pain and adversity built such a strong mental character that nothing before them thereafter will ever be close to the challenges they once faced; the rest from then on is really easy. So let me ask myself that question one more time; “Do young fighters have an advantage in life?” Yes, of course, especially those who show up every day and give 110% because those are the champions, not only in sport but also in life.

The other day, I met a former Olympic fighter and his friend competed in the Olympic Boxing Games. They told me they could make anyone a champion, if that person had the heart and character to do the workouts and never give up. I agree, and you know what, it’s a lot like how things are in life too. You can’t lose unless you throw in the towel, but most people throw in the towel long before it matters, long before the match or the event because they won’t even try to get there in the first place. Consider all of this and think about it.

Cloud computing: a win for all

Cloud computing is a form of computing in which all applications, information, and resources are managed in a virtual environment. The term cloud computing, specifically the use of the word “cloud”, meant to represent the nature and structure of cloud computing. Cloud computing involves virtual hosted environments that allow users to connect to hosted services over the Internet.

Google Apps is a great example of cloud computing, as businesses no longer require the need for installed word processing software, internal email servers, multiple IT staff, and many more cost-saving advantages. Google Apps allows businesses to access all services, including email, website hosting, calendar, document creation / editing, and much more directly through a web browser. The advantage of using Google Apps is higher productivity, security, lower IT costs and data backup. Microsoft has also entered the cloud computing arena by integrating its current software, such as Word and Outlook, with online storage and easy access.

Many hosting companies and even some internet retailers are starting to offer cloud hosting services. Rackspace, an internet hosting company, has started offering cloud hosting for customers who want to have personal cloud applications in a controlled environment. Amazon.com also offers cloud hosting services due to its great infrastructure and internet bandwidth capabilities. Most cloud hosting companies offer easy setup and creation of private cloud hosting with straightforward user interfaces. Most cloud hosting companies have per-use pricing instead of flat fees. Users simply pay for the amount of processing, bandwidth, and storage they use. This pricing method benefits both cloud hosting companies and end users.

There are three main variations of cloud computing:

  1. IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service): The need for expensive equipment is outsourced. Instead of companies buying expensive equipment, including servers, hard drives, and network equipment, they will be used in the cloud and hosted by a cloud computing company. The business entity would use the virtual equipment based on the cost of use.
  2. PaaS (Platform as a Service) – Applications run from virtually hosted cloud servers. A small business that sells cloud applications to businesses will use PaaS to “host” the cloud applications sold and have them run from cloud servers rather than internal servers. The company selling the applications pays for the services based on processor / bandwidth.
  3. SaaS (software as a service): Cloud applications are paid per use and are not sold in bulk licenses. This allows small businesses to purchase on-demand licenses for applications that they may use infrequently. Instead of buying 15 licenses, a business can only pay when the software is used and remove limits on the number of machines the software can be installed on.

IaaS, Infrastructure as a Service, is currently the most widely used cloud service. IaaS allows small, medium and even large companies to reduce costs considerably. Businesses can completely eliminate the need for expensive network equipment, expensive bandwidth to support their network, expensive network storage equipment, and much more. A company only pays for what it uses from the cloud infrastructure, thus eliminating wasted capital due to lack of use of internal network equipment, bandwidth, etc. As IaaS becomes more popular and more cloud hosting companies emerge, costs may decline further due to oversupply and increased competition from cloud hosting.

PaaS, Platform as a Service, is second only to IaaS in terms of popularity and consumer adoption. A small business that sells cloud applications and / or cloud services does not have to host the applications but can host them elsewhere. The platform as a service prevents the company from selling the applications / services as expensive network equipment, bandwidth and the need for additional IT staff are outsourced to a cloud hosting company. This allows cloud application companies and even small developers the ability to enter the cloud application market without the need for significant start-up capital. PaaS has the potential to outperform IaaS in terms of consumer adoption and general use.

SaaS, Software as a Service, is the least used cloud hosting service. It is a mutual benefit for both consumers and software companies. Consumers save money as high-priced software licenses are no longer required due to the fact that consumers only pay when the software is used. The need to buy software in bulk is eliminated, and individual consumer software needs are tailored based on usage. This is also an advantage for cloud software companies as it will attract more consumers due to the custom pricing model. Consumers who could not afford the high cost of bulk software licenses will now be able to buy based on their software usage needs. SaaS has the potential to completely revolutionize the software industry and can even curb software piracy.

The personalized nature of cloud computing is what makes it such a popular and recently adopted Internet technology. It will revolutionize the way networking and day-to-day computing run. It’s a great win-win situation for both cloud companies and consumers.

Possible downsides

There are also downsides to cloud computing, specifically online storage and client applications. A business that uses cloud computing to host its email, document editing, calendars, and other applications may shut down if a cloud hosting business experiences downtime. This specific disadvantage was the case on February 24, 2009, when both Google Apps and Gmail were inactive for several hours. Downtime also reiterated that if Google can go down, so can any other hosting company. Confidence in cloud computing may have been hampered after this specific downtime, although Google has ensured that it won’t happen again. Google Apps serves more than 1 million businesses worldwide and is a leader in cloud computing applications.

Security is also a potential downside of cloud computing. Businesses that are willing to embrace the ability to host their services in the cloud may be reluctant to do so until the security of cloud computing has been thoroughly demonstrated and tested. Large companies may find that the additional costs of in-house network hosting outweigh the potential security risks associated with hosting in the cloud. A security breach involving a company’s cloud storage has the potential to cause disaster. However, hacking and security breaches are rampant for internal IT hosting, such as the theft of millions of credit card numbers, as well as detailed customer information. If cloud computing can prove your security far better than any in-house hosting, this can help you grow and exceed the percentage of companies that have in-house IT infrastructures.

Cloud computing is still in its infancy and is expected to grow and revolutionize the way of everyday computing. Many theorize that cloud computing will one day take over today’s desktop computing. Until intensive applications are developed for use in the cloud, desktop computing will remain the staple of everyday computing. Cloud computing innovation is rapid, and as new cloud technologies emerge, more people will start adopting the cloud.

Current browser technologies are not up to date with the capabilities of cloud computing, especially in the world of mobile computing. Cloud applications require various browser technologies, including Adobe Flash, JavaScript, Adobe Flex, and much more. Until browser technology evolves to accommodate cloud computing capabilities, cloud computing will remain a relatively simple computing method.

General benefits

The advantages of the cloud far outweigh the disadvantages. As better cloud computing technologies are developed and redundancy is perfected, the downsides will gradually become obsolete. As mentioned, cloud computing is in its infancy and new cloud technologies are growing exponentially. Someday we will all use the cloud. In-house IT hosting, as well as desktop computing, can become a thing of the past.

Genetic gold "Classic" Improvement

For whatever reason, many beginning traders are afraid to use genetic algorithms (GA) to optimize their systems. However, it is obvious that classical (exhaustive) as well as modern (genetic) optimizations play their role in strategy development. Today I will try to explain what differences both types of optimization can offer and help you see that you do not have to be afraid of “genetics”.

The biggest advantage of genetic optimization is undoubtedly time. Especially if we have more parameters to optimize, we can literally shorten the entire process from days to just a few hours, which is a speedup worth thinking about.

Most traders who have no experience with genetic optimization have the feeling that thanks to this shortcut the whole process will be like a “trap”. After all, how is it possible that GA can find solutions in 5-10% of the regular time, when the classic optimization process takes “full” time?

First, in a surprisingly high number of cases, genetic algorithms can find completely similar combinations that classical optimizations would also find. Second, you can find combinations that may differ. This can be useful, as I will explain shortly.

Let’s start with a simple comparison that shows quite realistic solutions found by GA – how close or how far they are from the solutions that classical optimization would find.

In this article I have chosen as an example a system of mine with 5 optimization parameters in total and on which I have applied Walk Forward Optimization (WFO). It means that I have divided the data used into 7 segments and have performed 7 optimizations (one on each data segment) to have more samples to compare. The comparison turned out as follows.

In the first place, the parameters that GA found are exactly the same as those of the classical optimization method (in more than half of the cases) 54%. That’s not bad at all, especially if we take into account that the reduction in the original time required for optimization is 90-95%. Subsequently, the parameters that GA found are very close to those found by the classical optimization technique; the result shows that there is no noticeable difference. The two groups together add up to 69%, which is a pretty decent result. In almost 3/4 of the cases, GA results were the same or very close to those in which classical optimization was used. However, GA found solutions 5-10% of the time than originally needed.

The remaining 31% of the results differ fundamentally, which can be a bit worrisome for some people. But as I will explain later, it is not necessary.

Usually the reason for a difference between the results is that classical optimization looks for the so-called local optimum and genetic algorithms tend to find a global optimum.

What exactly are these?

Suppose you have two parameters, N1 and N2, and you would like to find a combination with the best benefit.

The best combination shows that the gains for this case are around the $ 130,000 level. The problem is that this optimum is local and not global. The local optimum does not show similar results in the immediate vicinity. In other words, there is only one combination that provides great results, but the surrounding combinations will not. The local optimum is with a high probability over the optimized combination and a classical optimization technique tends to search for the local optimum.

Unlike genetic algorithms that seek a global optimum. In this area the profit is around $ 110,000, but the optimum has many functional “neighbors”. Therefore, the global optimum is more robust than the local optimum (which wins more, but the combination of parameters is debatable from the point of view of robustness).

Naturally, genetic algorithms do not always achieve the global optimum and occasionally also include a local optimum in their solutions. At the same time, classical optimization does not always produce only a local optimum; Often times, the best combination is part of a global optimum (and these are the moments when all the probable solutions found by GA and the classical optimization will correspond or be very close). Unfortunately, genetic algorithms also use the element of chance, so the end result is substantially less controllable; well, this is the price to pay for speeding up the optimization.

Personally, I use both types of optimization and I believe that both have their place in ATS development. Genetic algorithms may seem scary at first, but once you run a few tests and get used to them, you will realize that they are an irreplaceable help in many cases, and with their help you will do a lot more work. Of course, there are tons of academic studies that discuss aspects of both optimizations. We could argue about anything with respect to both methods, but I personally am not an academic; I am a pure practitioner. From a practical point of view, GA can be really invaluable, especially when used in a sensible and intelligent way. Therefore, there is no reason to be afraid of them, but it is important to use them with sense and reason.

Happy trading!

7 steps to prepare your kitchen cabinets to receive a professional paint finish

There is a long process to paint kitchen cabinets. If you don’t properly prepare your cabinets, you’ll be sure your paint finish won’t last long. Proper preparation also gives you a good foundation to achieve the beautiful professional look you want for your upgraded cabinets. There are 7 steps to preparing your kitchen cabinets to receive the best durable finish.

The first step in the 7-step process is to remove all hardware. You want to remove the cabinet doors to make it easier to paint the kitchen cabinets. Most homeowners plan to reuse their hardware, so it is very important to remove their hardware to protect their hardware from the next steps in the 7-step process. After removing the hardware, you should make sure to put the hinges, knobs, handles, and screws in a safe place so that when your painting project is done, you can easily install the hardware.

The next step is to mask your cabinets. The worst thing you can do is damage your walls and countertops while trying to paint your cabinets. When masking, you should cover everything, with paper or plastic, and use blue painter’s tape to easily remove and loosen the tape from walls, floors, and countertops. Most people skip the floor masking, but proper masking will give you crisp, clean lines on your floors. Painting near the floor is a difficult task to begin with, so be sure to tape and cover the floor to avoid having to clean up paint splatters later.

After everything is masked and covered, the next step is to degrease your cabinets. If you have new cabinets that have not withstood the cooking environment, skip this step. Most paints claim to block stains, but oil stains are something different and any oil left will cause your paint job to fail, plus oil stains will get through the paint. You don’t want to spend 4 days painting only to find that you will have to repaint your cabinets to remove oil stains. You can use any degreaser, just be sure to clean all the degreaser off the cabinets once you are done.

The next is the most difficult part of the prep process and that is sanding the cabinets. You must first ensure that the cabinets are dry after the degreasing process. Once you are sure the cabinets are dry, you will need to sand them down. Better to use 220-grit sandpaper or blocks. Anything thicker than 220 will cause deep scratches that will show through the paint finish, so be sure not to use a grit rougher than 220. When sanding, you need to make sure that your cabinets are not shiny or shiny. If your cabinets were stained and sealed, the sealer is the clear coat and the sealer is what protects your cabinets, and that includes paint protection. Therefore, you must sand down the glossy protection of your cabinets.

Once you are done sanding the cabinets, you should remove all the dust that is left after. Not removing all of the sanding dust can cause two problems. One problem is paint failure. The powder will prevent the primer from adhering properly to the cabinets. The dust creates a layer between your cabinets and the primer, which means your primer won’t come in direct contact with your cabinets and will be problematic at some point in the future. The other problem that dust will create is giving it a gritty finish. Once the primer dries onto the powder, the primer will take on the characteristics of the powder, which is a gritty texture. Also, the gritty texture will make it difficult to clean your cabinets later on. Smooth cabinets are easier to clean than gritty cabinets. Oil and dirt will get into the holes created by sanding dust. You should use microfiber rags to remove the dust after vacuuming the dust.

Caulking and wood filler for your cabinet imperfections will go a long way in helping your cabinet paint job look professional. You won’t have to wait to caulk after degreaser and sanding is complete to avoid damaging your cabinet and wood filler. If you need to fill something in your cabinets with wood, please do so before caulking because after filling your holes or grain with wood caulk you will need to sand the wood caulk smooth. Then, I would repeat the dust removal process mentioned above. Even with your caulking, you want to use a very small hole to caulk your kitchen cabinets. Make sure to smooth the caulk properly by removing any excess caulk and residue, as any caulk that is not smooth will show through your paint.

The last step of the 7-step process is to prepare your cabinets. Before priming, you need to make sure that the sealant is completely dry. If your caulk is not completely dry, then the primer will seal in slower drying and lead to failure later. If you don’t let the caulk dry, the caulk will shrink, crack, or shrink and crack after you’ve finished painting your cabinets.

Obesity and overweight: five diseases and health conditions

A healthcare professional can easily tell if you are obese, overweight, or healthy simply by measuring your body mass index, or BMI, in short. It effectively determines your weight in proportion to your height, and the further you fall outside the standard range, the greater your chances of developing a number of critical health problems from obesity and being overweight.

Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight is something that cannot be achieved overnight and, in the long run, could become a challenging task for obese and overweight people. Ensuring a healthy weight through the proper means or at least preventing you from gaining more weight can help overweight people reduce the likelihood of developing specific medical conditions.

Obesity is poised to become a national epidemic in the US and is associated with several chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. The serious medical condition is responsible for a staggering 18% death rate in the 40 to 85 age group among the American population, as observed by a 2013 health research study, which questions the deeply ingrained notion and predominantly medical and scientific. community that only 5 of every 100 deaths in the country are related to obesity. The new finding essentially suggests that it is as fatal as cigarette smoking, when it comes to discussing the dangers to public health, as the particular form of nicotine use may be linked to 20 out of 100 deaths in the US. And it is recognized as the main preventable cause of mortality in the country.

Nearly 2 in 5 American adults were diagnosed with obesity in 2015-16, representing a significant increase from 34% in 2007-08, and its impact deepened with a sharp increase from 5.7% to 7.7% during that time. . While not a single state reported an obesity rate above 15% in 1985, up to 5 of them had rates above 35% for 2016.

Obesity and being overweight are often associated with emotional health problems such as depression. People who are obese or overweight may also experience weight biases, as well as face stigma from healthcare service providers and others, which, in turn, can result in guilt, feelings of rejection, or shame, worsening even more the prevailing problems over one’s mental well-being.

The main diseases and health complications caused by obesity and being overweight are briefly illustrated below.

I. TYPE 2 DIABETES

When the blood glucose concentration becomes permanently abnormally high, the particular medical condition is called type 2 diabetes. About 4 out of 5 people with this form of diabetes are known to be obese or overweight. High blood sugar levels can manifest a host of medical conditions, including strokes, heart conditions, eye problems, neuropathic damage, eye problems, and other health problems.

Allowing yourself to do regular physical activities and reducing your weight by 5% to 7% can prevent or postpone the onset of type 2 diabetes if you are in the risk group for the particular disease.

II. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

When blood passes through the blood vessels in your body with much more force, the particular medical condition is known as hypertension or, more commonly, high blood pressure. It can cause an alarming level of blood vessel damage, strain the heart, and help increase the chances of stroke, kidney disease, heart attack, and even death.

III. HEART DISEASE

The general term heart disease is used routinely to indicate a wide and diverse range of medical conditions that can affect the general well-being of the organ. If you are diagnosed with heart disease, you are at increased risk for heart failure, sudden cardiac death, angina, heart attack, or a heart rhythm that is not considered normal. Elevated levels of fat in the bloodstream, high blood sugar levels, and high blood pressure can increase your chances of developing heart disease. Blood lipids or fats necessarily refer to triglycerides, high-density lipoproteins or HDL cholesterol and low-density lipoproteins or LDL cholesterol. Reducing 5% to 10% of your body mass is likely to help you mitigate your risks of developing heart disease and can help improve blood flow, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure.

IV. CAREER

If there is a blockage or incidence of blood vessel rupture in your neck or brain, it causes the blood supply to your brain to suddenly stop, and the particular medical condition is known as stroke. A stroke can cause reversible or irreversible damage to your brain, resulting in partial or complete paralysis and thus making you unable to speak or initiate body movements. To be enough, hypertension is recognized as the vital cause of strokes.

SLEEP APNEA

Sleep apnea is a medical condition when a person does not breathe frequently and is quite common in a large number of people around the world. You can also stop breathing completely for short intervals. If such a sleep disorder remains undiagnosed or untreated, it can increase the chances of other critical health problems, such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Using Reward Stickers for Teachers: Some Advantages and Disadvantages

Rewards have always been around to provide motivation. They help provide a boost to propel people to achieve certain goals and reinforce positive behavior or attitude. For children in school, one of the common reward systems is the use of school stamps, teacher reward stickers, or children’s stickers. However, teachers should keep in mind that the use of these and other incentives should be handled with care, especially for children. With their young mindset and disposition, what teachers pretend to be a motivational approach could easily backfire and make some children feel bad.

As with other reward systems, the benefit of gifting stickers to children is that they serve as a tangible form of recognition for a job well done. These tokens help reinforce positive results by encouraging repetition of the behavior that was rewarded. This approach might be more meaningful to children as they may not easily understand or relate to their own goals. These simple rewards would then serve as things to look forward to the next time they do something good.

Another benefit of using children’s stickers as a tangible prize is that they are the “safest” to give away, in the sense that they are not considered a bribe. This is something that cannot be said for other rewards such as chocolate, candy or toys. Reward stickers for teachers are often treated as mini-certificates of appreciation. There is also the advantage that the stickers are usually cheap. They are usually packaged in bulk in stores at an affordable cost, or can even be printed by the masters themselves.

Another advantage of reward stickers for teachers is that the rewarded child receives something that they can take home and show to the parents. Therefore, the achievements or good behavior of the child are also communicated to the family members. This could be especially important if the child’s parents are busy and don’t have time to attend regular parent-teacher conferences. Simply by having a child display stickers, parents receive feedback and may even be more encouraged to attend the next time there is a conference at school. This helps parents learn more about their child’s performance. Kids stickers can also serve as a reminder to both the student and their parents about to-dos and other school events.

However, as mentioned above, there are certain downsides to this reward method. The first is that some children may feel insecure about themselves if they do not receive as many stickers as others. This is especially true if the teacher displays the stickers on a chart. Rather than promoting healthy competition as needed, this could put some kids off.

However, if the teacher decides to keep the decals on a public display, he must ensure that different things can be awarded, not just rewards for aptitude in the class.

Another downside to using reward stickers for teachers is that student incentive expectations can increase over time. Rather than focus on the intangible, though more important, values they get from good behavior, such as knowledge and discipline, they may tend to focus more on the tangible rewards they get as the bottom line. To mitigate this, teachers should also use the concept of intangible rewards. It is advisable to consider prizes for the whole group. The teacher can set a goal for the entire class, such as following a consistent “quiet hour” for an entire week. In this way, teamwork is encouraged along with individual behavior.

Teacher reward stickers are very effective in more ways than one. Teachers can definitely depend on these to improve the school learning environment, especially among very young students. When using reward methods such as children’s stickers or school stamps, teachers should keep in mind that such incentives should be reduced and phased out over time. After all, students shouldn’t depend on awards to keep doing well. The ultimate goal of these methods is to help students intrinsically motivate themselves, to always keep doing their best with or without a reward waiting.

Effective Cooling Tower Water Treatment

Here in the greater Phoenix area, harsh water conditions require smart water treatment strategies to properly keep equipment water-cooled. Proper management of the cooling tower sump water characteristics along with maintaining good overall tower hygiene accomplishes at least four positive things.

1) Avoid wasting excess water.

2) Inhibits scale formation.

3) Control biological growth.

4) Reduces the corrosion rate of the metallic parts of the tower.

Let’s take a look at how a cooling tower works to understand why proper water treatment is important.

Most valley residents are familiar with an evaporative cooler. The water from the sump of the evaporative cooler is circulated by a pump over the pads in the evaporative cooler and the outside air is drawn through the pads. As the air passes through the wet pads, some of the water evaporates and cools the air. The cooler air is then circulated to the space where it is desired to cool. In the process of air cooling, the water that is recirculated through the pads is also cooled.

That is exactly the same principle that is used in the cooling tower, but on a much larger scale. Rejecting large amounts of heat from a building’s mechanical system requires a lot of water to evaporate. For example, a 100-ton water-cooled chiller operating at full capacity for 24 hours would require the evaporation of more than four thousand gallons of water. That brings us to the issue of make-up water characteristics. Make-up water is the water supply that replaces the water that evaporates in the cooling tower.

Here in the metropolitan area, water conditions vary widely because our water comes from several different wells, as well as from surface sources. Water quality can change rapidly in a short period of time because different sources are used for water supply. Each well has different water characteristics and often varies greatly from one side of the city to the other. Water that comes from surface sources, such as the Central Arizona Project, will generally have significantly different characteristics than well water. Surface water quality can also be influenced by climatic conditions such as drought or increased runoff.

As the water evaporates in the cooling tower, all non-volatile components remain in the cooling tower sump. In reality, there is much more to water than what we would call hardness (carbonates). There are also chlorides, suspended dust particles and biological microorganisms. As more and more water is added to replenish the evaporating water, these dissolved and suspended components in the sump water continue to accumulate. If steps are not taken to control the concentration of these components in the water, the solution will eventually increase in concentration to a point where “things” begin to come out of solution. This “material” ends up depositing on the surfaces with which the water comes into contact.

Have you ever seen an evaporative cooler where the pads haven’t been changed for a long time? I have seen them so encrusted with mineral deposits that the blower could no longer draw air through them. I have also seen them produce an abundance of biological growth in the sump water. That is exactly what will happen in a cooling tower without proper attention to hygiene and a proper water treatment strategy.

When solids that dissolve in water come out of solution, they deposit first on heat exchange surfaces and on surfaces where water evaporates. Heat exchangers, water-cooled condensers, drift eliminators, tube bundle in closed loop cooling towers, and fill in open cooling towers are some examples of surfaces where this occurs.

Deposition of mineral scale, dirt, and biofouling on any heat exchange surface can reduce heat transfer, reduce tower efficiency, and increase energy costs. While it is important to reduce the deposition of these with respect to the cooling tower, it is absolutely critical to avoid fouling or fouling in the water-cooled condenser. Scale and scale in the condenser significantly reduces heat transfer capacity and will seriously affect energy costs, performance, and reliability.

Generally, a two-part strategy is used to manage the mineral content of the sump water. The first is to keep the pH of the sump water within allowable limits and feed the correct type and amount of chemicals to help the water keep more dissolved solids in solution. The second part is to intentionally send some of the sump water down the drain (purge). The purge reduces the highly concentrated mineral content of the sump water by diluting it with fresh make-up water that is added to replace intentionally wasted water.

Biological growth can also become a significant health risk depending on the particular organism involved. Allowing sludge and biological growth to accumulate in a cooling tower sump can accelerate sump corrosion and shorten the life cycle of the cooling tower. It can also provide a haven for microbes to escape the effects of a biocide.

A proper water treatment strategy and good cooling tower hygiene are not a one-size-fits-all solution. The quality of the make-up water will require an adjustment of the type of chemicals and biocides used. It may also require changing the feed and purge rates for proper control. Additionally, these requirements can be altered by the characteristics of each individual cooling tower installation.

According to Alan Bateman of DB Water Technologies, there are several things that a good cooling tower water treatment program must address to be effective. They are total dissolved solids (TDS), hardness, pH, chlorides, suspended solids, an appropriate method for biological control and an adequate purge strategy. Every cooling tower manufacturer publishes recommendations for maintaining proper sump water conditions. Advice from a qualified water treatment professional is recommended to ensure that each item above is included in your overall strategy for cooling tower water treatment.

Confused about the differences between the P90X and the 10-minute Trainer’s workouts? Each of these Tony Horton exercise programs provides an effective way to lose weight and get back in shape. However, each program uses a different approach and provides different results.

For those looking for a program to quickly improve or tone up, the P90X program is an excellent option. On the other hand, if you are looking for a long-term exercise routine that you can complete in just a few minutes a day, the 10-minute Trainer program can provide the best results.

Furthermore, you can also use both programs together. Start losing weight with P90X and follow the 10 minute trainer to maintain your appearance. Consider the following comparisons when you’re ready to choose between the P90X workout routine and the 10-minute Trainer …

How much time do you have available?

The first thing to consider when choosing the perfect exercise routine is how much time you have available each day. The P90X program requires a minimum of one hour each day for 90 days. However, you may need to commit to an hour and a half if you are looking for exceptional results. The 10-minute Coach program is designed to take only ten minutes each day. This program does not have a time frame like the duration of 90 days with P90X. Each exercise routine is divided into ten-minute intervals, and you can complete a ten-minute section per day or you can do multiple routines. Obviously, the amount of time you spend exercising will affect how quickly you see results.

How fast do you want to get results?

P90X guarantees that you will see significant results in just 90 days. The program is intended for those who want quick results. With the intense training regimen, you can start overweight and finish fit and toned in less than three months. On the other hand, 10 Minute Trainer provides results quickly, without a definite date for completion. You can continue the program for 30, 90, or 200 days. You will get results for as long as you use the program. However, the results you receive will depend on the intensity of your routine and your dedication to the program.

What is your stamina and skill level?

Before starting any training regimen, you should take a good look at your skills and endurance level. If you have a medical condition or are severely out of shape, you may not want to start on an intense 90-minute routine like P90X. For most people, this is the hardest part of getting in shape. In many cases, people believe that they can accomplish more than they actually can. If you are having difficulty crossing a parking lot, you may need to start slowly. On the other hand, if you’re already in good shape and simply need to redefine your body, an intense workout may be perfect. Many people start out slowly with the 10 minute trainer and move on to the P90X program as their endurance increases.

Similarities Between P90X and 10 Minute Trainer

Both the P90X and the 10 Minute Trainer have many similarities. Each program includes a nutrition program and step-by-step details that you can follow. The programs also use methods to ensure that you never hit a plateau during your routine. A plateau occurs when the muscles adapt to their routine and no longer respond. If this happens, you can continue with the program for months and you may never see any changes. However, P90X uses a proprietary technique called “muscle confusion.” The routine is designed in a way that confuses your muscles so you don’t stagnate. Continually change your exercise routine and continue to see results throughout the program. On the other hand, 10 Minute Trainer uses a process called stacking to avoid stalling. With each system, the exercises complement each other to ensure continuous results.

As you can see, each Tony Horton workout program provides certain benefits when it comes to getting in shape. Ultimately, only you can decide which program you are prepared for. Always remember that the first and most important step to success is to start something and move on.

Disobedience as a psychological and moral problem

The most common notion of the day is “Obedience is a virtue and disobedience is a vice.” However, looking at history, we see a clear trend that it was through disobedience that we were able to achieve what we have achieved thus far. However, through obedience, we as humans only manage to create chaos and discomfort for all other humans.

The lifestyle of the Kalahari pygmies is the most primitive lifestyle source that we can find in modern society today. These people resemble the lives of the primitive man who walked the earth before Christopher Columbus landed in the American hemisphere. Despite all the war and changes in the world, these people seem to be the happiest people living in what we call hell, the unforgiving Kalahari Desert. They do not know of obedience to any system or man, they live in a symbiotic relationship with nature and over time, they have learned to enrich this relationship to the point where they can find water in the desert and live a very peaceful life in isolation.

Now looking at the other side of the dice, we, at our convenience, have trouble being truly independent. Because society has created us as a wheel of this self-destructive society directed by embedding “Obedience” in all aspects of our life, than to become operators of this machine called society, allowing us to be independent and disobedient. The problem is that the social operator turns the machine in a direction in which all the wheels will follow one after another in obedience and no one stops, which leads to the end of the days.

The common notion is: “Obedience is a virtue and disobedience is a vice.” However, when we look at our history to understand how we as humans came to be what we are, we see that the common notion about obedience is a false virtue. As the famous psychologist and author Erich Fromm says, “Human history began with an act of disobedience” (Fromm 246). Through the ages, from a Paleolithic man to a Neolithic man, due to various acts of disobedience such as challenging the knowledge that Paleolithic man possessed as a hunter and cave dweller, we managed to achieve our mental and spiritual growth to reach the peaks of the space age.

Also, looking at this from the religious aspect, we see that throughout the Bible it was due to disobedience that man began to free himself. King David’s disobedience regarding the association with Bathsheba started the lineage of Jesus, who is the ultimate symbol of freedom and all that is good. Furthermore, throughout the Bible we see Jesus constantly defying the law of Israel to free the people of Israel from the Pharisaical law (Garrett Luke 23: 1, 23: 24).

In addition to religion, when looking at the world socio-political scene we see that due to various acts of disobedience on the part of a handful, many people were able to enjoy freedom. George Washington and John Adams, branded traitors by the British for disobeying their law, created what we know as the United States; Abraham Lincoln, against the majority agrees to almost divide the country and create a civil war abolished slavery. Likewise, Martin Luther King Jr., by disobeying the common notion of segregation, set our fellow African-American citizens free, allowing us to have an African-American president in 2009, ushering in a new era in American history.

However, we remain attached to the theory of obedience as a virtue. Looking back in history, we see that our slavery of obeying at all costs or the “Go with the wave” mentality resulted in the end of civilizations. The destruction of Troy VII (Thompson), beyond the myth, we see as a decision made by the minor city-states of the Greek Empire to seize the best trading post and have the monopoly of trade in the Aegean Sea that ended the age of gold of Athens. (Thompson). In addition, during Roman times the assassination of Gaius Julius Caesar by Brutus, despite what Shakespeare says, was an act of obedience to the Senate, which led to the death of a great leader and 16 years of bloodbath that concluded the Roman era. the pages of history (Richard 175).

Volumes of books can be written based on the theme of how much obedience at the end of days has contributed to many strong civilizations and systems. So what makes man more likely to obey than to disobey? The human being is a social creature, during childhood man learns by copying what others do in his environment. When the mother points to the father and says “papa”, the baby with time points is the male figure that is always around the mother and says “papa” without knowing if this male figure is really his father or not.

In the same way, it is during childhood that we learn the art of pleasing people and giving up our independent thinking. By doing something that makes Mom and Dad happy, you get a reward, and when you please your teachers, you finish school easily. This relationship between a student and the school is a perfect example of how we mold ourselves to be obedient and not disobedient; a sticky thorn in the heel of people that keeps us locked in foreign paradises. As the child grows, he has become so dependent on other people that his entire life has become a mirror of another person. The fact that the type of hair cream, the car we drive, our partners we choose, even the toilet paper we flush down the toilet reflects the needs of our friends, and keeps us chained to a false sense of security and obedience. . For one to be truly free and independent, one must “have the courage to say no to powers (and) disobey.” (Since 249).

Subsequently, we cannot say No to the powers that we have in our hands, be it religious, governmental, educational or any other, because of the sense of power that we feel when obeying it and the sense of security that we feel. Furthermore, the three-line experiment discussed by Solomon E Asch in is the article “Opinions and Social Pressure” where an individual subject, when put under pressure by a majority on an opinion of good or bad. The subject tends to be wrong in his opinions when trying to satisfy the opinion of the majority despite being right in his individual opinion (Asch 207). This clearly shows us that social pressure also plays an important role in why we cannot say no.

The importance of being independent in our opinions and decisions is beneficial not only for us as individuals but also for the entire world. By studying systems like the Third Reich designed to reach all aspects of all social levels, we see that when man obeys authority without hesitation, its effects can be devastating not only for the individual but for the entire world. The end of World War II on November 25, 1945, initiated the final chapter of Hitler’s Germany, which was the ultimate obedience structure and the first chapter of humanity. The Nuremberg trials where all war criminals faced charges for their reversals with the Holocaust, gave us a good overview of the extreme capacity for obedience that human beings possess even to kill 5 million people because the hierarchy authorized it.

During the trial, not all of the defendants pleaded guilty, but except for a few, all of the defendants were guilty of counts three and four (Crimes against humanity) (Taylor and Kent 14), after which the prosecution provided witnesses and evidence, including the shrunken one. heads from the Buchenwald concentration camp. When asked why the defense committed these monstrosities, the common summarized answer was “I was obeying orders.” Taking the testimony of Auschwitz commander Rudolf Hoess to Dr. Kauffmann on the trails of Nuremberg (Monday, April 15, 1946), it is more than obvious to say that despite one’s own disturbing conscience, killing so many men, women and children was justified by obedience to the law. orders given by the state (Stackelberg and Winkle 374). Furthermore, when Adolf Eichmann faced trial on April 11, 1961 for participating in the final solution we know as the Holocaust, his answers to the questions of why he did these monstrosities were simple: “I was a soldier and I followed orders. “,” I never did anything, big or small, without first obtaining express instructions from Adolf Hitler or any of my superiors. ” (Eichman)

However, one can be obedient to a system or a person if he is “all good, all wise: (the system) must become omniscient” (Fromm 249). This is where Jesus and his ministry come in as a great example. “Jesus not only violated the law, but defined what the law should be” (Crawford 35), he was obedient to God, who is omniscient and perfect. However, the world we live in and the leaders we decide to follow from church to government are not perfect like God, even though many leaders preach freedom, a free system cannot exist without disobedience, taking away the freedom to disobey. taking away freedom itself.

Finally, just like the times when the industrial revolution ignited the boiling pot that led to WWI and WWII, modern space and nuclear technology is lighting the next boiling pot. Since many countries, including world powers, are constantly at war with each other, all that is needed is an obedient soldier and a stubborn and obedient commander and there is bound to be a nuclear holocaust. Therefore, it will not be through an act of disobedience, but through an act of obedience that will bring about the end of days.
