Key West Vacation Rentals – Your Chance to Live in Paradise for a Week or Month

So you are planning a vacation to the Florida Keys. Just so you know that the Florida Keys span over 100 miles from Florida City to Key West. The islands of the Florida Keys are connected by bridges and causeways. The journey through the Keys is impressive, but if you just want to get down to business at mile zero, there is an airport on our 2 by 4 mile island.

Key West was billed as a dirty little town without much to do for many, many years. It wasn’t until more recently that it became such a tourist destination. Today, more than a million people visit the island throughout the year. It is one of the only frost-free cities in the United States and boasts the southernmost point of the continental United States, just 90 miles from Havana, Cuba. Although you can’t get to Cuba from here legally, some swordfishers in the Straits of Florida say that on a clear night you can see the lights of Havana.

If you are visiting for any reason, you probably need a place to sleep. Considering Key West is a party town and the bars don’t close until 4 a.m. M., It could prevent you from finding a place to sleep until just before dawn. Regardless, there are plenty of places to stay for both those on a budget and those wanting top-of-the-line luxury accommodation.

Hotels

Key West hotels range from unique luxury hotel chain accommodations like Hilton, Hyatt, Crowne Plaza, and Noble to more reasonable hotels like Radission, Marriott Courtyard, Sheraton, and Days Inn. The bottom line is that it really all depends on what you want to see, or if a view matters. My suggestion is to get a map of the island and map out your ideal accommodation based on budget and location. If you like the beach, I can suggest a few: Sheraton Suites, Hyatt Windward, Pier House Resort, Wyndham Casa Marina, and Wyndham Reach Resort.

Inns and pensions

Guest house accommodations in Key West are certainly tropical and can be anything from elegant to extravagant. Many guesthouses and inns that I have seen are unique in style and location. One thing to keep in mind is that guesthouses and inns try to keep the peace for all of their guests, so know that there are probably quiet hours and some of them don’t want you to bring children. I would ask ahead or read on their websites for more information. Some guesthouses and inns that I can suggest: The Paradise Inn, Gardens Hotel, Westwinds Inn, Fleur de Key (gay friendly) and Eden House.

Key West Vacation Rentals

One of the best values on the island for a couple or a family traveling to our island is a vacation rental. Think of it as your home away from home for a week or a month, both types of rentals are available. Many of the vacation rentals on offer are close to all the activities on Duval Street in downtown Key West, some even within walking distance. They are in a homely environment with a living room, a kitchen or kitchenette with all the dishes, utensils and cooking utensils. They offer a refrigerator to keep your drinks and food cold. Some even offer washer and dryer and internet access for extended stays. Best of all for a group of four or more can be a great opportunity to spend more time doing more because the room rate is split and makes it more affordable for most. Some of the vacation rentals offered in Key West are also pet friendly.

Regardless of what you decide to do on your visit to Key West, know that all Key West hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, guesthouses, inns, and vacation rentals offer excellent service and welcome your visit and patronage at our little Island.

Get the most out of iPhone and Ford Sync

Getting the most out of your Ford Sync system sometimes means learning more about your smartphone and here are some tips on how to use your iPhone with the Ford Sync system.

Having trouble accessing music on your iPhone?

If you have upgraded to a newer Apple iOS, then one of the options is to “back up” and store your music in the cloud. This uses a process called iTunes Match. Basically, you see the song titles and information on your iPhone, but the music is really “parked” in the cloud. The problem is that the Ford Sync system can no longer access this music as it has become part of Apple’s proprietary system. If you’re going to your iPhone’s Settings folder … scroll down to the iTunes & App Stores bar, then turn off the iTunes Match button.

This allows your Sync system to access music files. Re-enable the iTunes Match button to back up and store your music from time to time to keep your files up to date.

Has your iPhone music stream stopped playing?

If you pressed the Voice button on the steering wheel to access the music by saying “Bluetooth Audio” then you can stream music through your vehicle’s sound system. Stream music, but you don’t have enough bandwidth to give voice commands to “Play Artist Bruno Mars”.

If you connect your iPhone to the USB port, you will have to press the voice button and say “USB”. The sync system will index the music on your iPhone (or USB jump drive) and after a few minutes press the voice button again and when the sync system says “USB, please indicate your command” then say “Play all” . The Sync system will start playing your music. You can then press the voice button and say “Play artist Miranda Lambert” and it will search and play your music (if you have it in your collection).

So can I play music from Pandora?

If you have a Pandora account on your iPhone, you can press the voice button and say “Bluetooth Audio”. The system will reply “Bluetooth Audio” and then go to your iPhone and tap on the Pandora icon (or another music streaming app) and then when that app starts playing your music will be muted and the music streaming will play.

Again, if you connect your iPhone to USB, then you need to give your system a “USB” voice command for the system to change the content you are accessing.

Can I have voice-to-text text messages read to me?

If you have an iPhone 4s or an iPhone 5, go to your phone and press the Home button (the big button at the bottom center of your phone). Press and hold the Home button for a few seconds and you will hear a tome on your phone (and the sync system). Say “Read text messages.” Siri on your iPhone will search for messages and read them to you. If you want to send a message, press the Start button and say “Send text message.” Your Siri will ask you who you want to send and what you want to say. Just follow the instructions. In fact, you can press the Home button and ask Siri any question. When you’re done with Siri, just press and hold the phone icon on the steering wheel and “hang up” the call.

So how can I get voice activated GPS directions through the Sync system?

Let’s say you want to use the application on your iPhone 4s or iPhone 5, such as Google Maps, for step-by-step directions. Press the voice button on the steering wheel and say “Bluetooth Audio”. Then go to your iPhone and activate your GPS app. It will “speak” the instructions on the timing system. Press and hold the phone icon on the steering wheel to hang up the voice instructions.

Continuous support for your iPhone and syncing …

Completely turn off your iPhone at least once a week. Keep the iPhone powered off for at least a few minutes. Then turn it on again.

Go to the main screen of your phone. Then press the Home button twice. The screen will slide up. You will see a group of application icons. Press and hold your finger on one of the apps until a red circle with a white minus symbol appears. Then tap on the red circle and the apps will turn off. Most people will find that every time they open an app, it stays on “in the background.” This consumes more power and drains the battery more quickly. When you turn off the music app on your iPhone, the music will not automatically start playing every time you start your vehicle.

By the way, if you are playing music via Bluetooth or USB, you can press one of your vehicle’s audio buttons to switch to AM / FM, CD, Aux, or Sirius as the music source. Or you can use the Media (or Source) buttons (if you have them in your vehicle) to access any of the Media available for your vehicle.

What is a common disaster life insurance clause?

Although not commonly applied to life claims, a common disaster life insurance clause is provided under what is known as the Uniform Concurrent Death Act, which is adopted by most states to address the problem of protecting the contingent beneficiary in the event that the insured and the principal beneficiary die at the same time or as a result of the same event.

Under this law, the law will assume that the first (primary) beneficiary died first in a common disaster. It allows proceeds to be paid to the secondary (contingent) beneficiary or the insured’s estate, if no contingent beneficiary has been designated. The intention is to ensure that the final wishes of the insured are met.

Most insurance companies specify a specific period of time, such as 30 or 60 days, within which death must occur to comply with this provision of the policy. What this means is that as long as the beneficiary dies within this period of time after the death of the insured, the law will continue to interpret the beneficiary as dying first.

The common disaster clause of a life insurance policy is very important and most states provide it according to the law. You should read your insurance policy carefully to make sure your state allows this provision.

Comparing life insurance quotes from different companies can mean comparing apples to watermelons. Each company has different riders, provisions, and riders that are used to change both the policy premium and the policy benefits.

You should carefully consider the policies and quotes of various companies before making a decision. Using a free tool to help you do this, such as a life insurance quote calculator, helps.

The Importance of Manipulative Materials in Teaching Visual Words for Corrective Reading Instructions

When it comes to ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of manipulative materials in remedial reading instructions, especially sight words or high-frequency words, the following are important things a reading teacher should do:

First, material preparations. Any material available could be helpful to a creative or resourceful reading teacher, especially if the school is not tech-oriented or what. Destination words can be printed on a sheet of bond paper or in small cut-out letters that make up words and are used in games with beads, seeds, pebbles, or other indigenous materials such as “pantantos “ compared to Bingo Sight Words. In fact, I have changed the name of Bingo to Verb to disassociate the game from the negative connotation, which was played at the casino or at neighborhood fun time as chinese domino and other playing cards.

I laminated Verb cards for durability purposes and have been using them for my remedial reading instruction. In fact, I have also done Verb flashcards for other subject areas like math, science, and more.

Second, playtime. Aside from individual learning the target words by reading them from stacks of cards, challenged readers might also have Verb playtime in which students can have fun and have fun. Before the game begins, students must choose a pattern such as diagonal, horizontal, vertical, or cover all. The first to complete a pattern is declared the winner by correctly reading sight words in a complete pattern. Then another pattern is played and read on until everyone has a chance to read and feel confident that they can play with other students, have fun, and master important social skills like taking turns, showing respect, and more.

Third, rubrics are a must. The punctuation on your mastered words read should also be accompanied by a table of values. Yes, courage is observed and strengthened, and so on during the game. A reading teacher knows the essence of emphasizing them every time they play manipulatives or do group work.

Lastly, fun should be the focus of playing manipulation. If students are no longer happy with what they have been doing, let’s say they have mastered sight words for mastery purposes, the teacher should look for other ways to strengthen their reading skills, such as guiding them to use those. frequently used words in a sentence. sentence, paragraph, etc.

Variety plays an important role in ensuring that student interest and teacher enthusiasm remain intact by providing the materials necessary for mastery of sight words through the use of manipulatives.

Orders and market rates

In the Forex market, traders use several special phrases, including terminology that refers to whether a particular trade has been entered into a buy or sell position. When a trader trades a lot, he has entered a trade by buying, for example, a lot of currencies and expects the price to rise. In most cases, traders will apply one of the words buy and long to describe the same action performed. Whenever an investor goes short, he has entered a trade by selling, for example, a lot of currencies, as he anticipates that the price will fall. Traders also apply the terms sell and sell short in most cases to describe the exact same action. For example, if you want to buy Australian dollars against US dollars, you would go for AUD / USD a lot, where you would be buying Australian dollars and selling US dollars at a certain price. Or in another case, if you think that the Australian dollar will not perform well and depreciate, then you could fall short on the AUD / USD pair, where you would be selling Australian dollars and buying US dollars.

But what if you don’t want to enter a position at the current price, but at any other price? Don’t worry, there are four different types of market orders based on which you could enter a position at a price that you think would be right for you. The following four types of orders belong to the category of ‘Pending Orders’, in which you set a certain price to buy or sell and the order will be activated just when the price of the pair reaches its established price.

  • Buy Stop

It is a form of pending order that is used when a trader expects the price to form an upward movement; to be able to set an entry price determined by yearning for a pair that he believes would be a safe point to enter. For example, if you are trading the EUR / USD pair and the current price is at 1.2820 and you think it would be safe to keep the pair long once it breaks the 1.2840 level, then you could set a buy stop entry at 1.2850 , which means that once the price reaches this level, its long entry would be triggered.

  • Sell Stop

Like the buy stop, the sell stop is another type of pending order that is used when a trader waits for the price to decline in order to sell a pair short at a certain price that they are comfortable with. For example, if you are trading USD / JPY and it is holding at the 100.20 level, but you think it would be safe to short the pair below the 100.02 level, so you could set a stop at sell at, say, 99.92. Once the price drops to this level, your sell entry will be triggered automatically.

  • Sale limit

Limit orders are also used to enter the market at a certain price level, but the difference between limit orders and stop orders is that limit orders are used when a trader is using some profit maximizing tactic. Also, limit orders are used when a trader wants to enter the market at certain levels of resistance or support from which the price could recover and continue its main trend after the pullback.

For example, let’s say you sell the EUR / USD pair at 1.2880 and trade 1.2820 with 60 profit points and you expect the pair to make some correction that could lead you to test 1.2850. In this case, you can set your sell limit order at 1.2850, after which the pair can continue its main trend and continue to fall.

  • Buy at the limit

The buy limit works in the same way as the sell limit, but here a trader sets a certain price level that he wants to enter as long as in a certain pair. For example, if you are bullish on a certain pair and expect the pair to rise after it makes a downward correction to 1.2820, then you could set a buy limit order at 1.2820 and you could target, say, 1.2860 for 40 points. profit.

In conclusion, stop and limit orders are used to enter the market at certain price levels that may appear after a time when a trader may not be present in front of his computer screen. In short, if you believe your analysis, you could make use of those commands while in the meantime you could be doing something else. This would free you up significantly, as you will not be asked to waste valuable time in front of a screen, waiting for the appropriate price level to appear.

The Banting Diet Food List: What Can You Eat When Banting?

If you haven’t heard of Banting yet, it’s one of the latest diets that condones a low-carb, high-fat lifestyle. The hardest part of any diet is knowing what you can and cannot eat. that’s why we’ve put together the Banting Diet Food List. This list ranks all the foods you can eat and the ones to avoid when “Banting.”

So what is Banting?

Banting is the name of one of the latest diets that focuses on low-carb, high-fat foods as a way to maintain normal blood sugar and insulin levels, and in doing so, lose weight and regain health and energy. The diet is named after William Banting, who in 1863 popularized a similar diet and was very successful in transforming himself from an obese and sickly undertaker to an energetic and lean one.

The Banting Diet focuses on eliminating all refined carbohydrates, sugars and processed foods and rather focuses on natural ingredients (and organic or farm when possible). You are allowed meat, vegetables, fats, nuts, and dairy, but you should limit the amount of sugary fruits and starchy vegetables. Anything that is processed or has preservatives, sugar, and simple carbohydrates is completely off the menu.

People following this diet are advised to eat a maximum of 25g – 50g of net carbohydrates (net carbs) per day. Net carbohydrates are total carbohydrates minus dietary fiber and sugar alcohols; the reason this is deducted from the total carbohydrate measurement is because fiber and sugar alcohols do not have an impact on blood sugar levels. Blood sugar levels in turn increase the level of insulin in the blood, which is the main reason why the body stores unhealthy fats.

To make it easier for people starting this diet, the foods are placed on three lists: The Green List; The orange list and the red list.

The green list

The foods on the Green List are those that you can eat freely and every day. The foods on this list contain between 0g – 5g of net carbohydrates (net carbs) per 100g.

The orange list

These are foods that should be enjoyed only occasionally because the net carbohydrate content ranges from 6g to 25g per 100g serving.

  • These vegetables: pumpkin, parsnip, peas, sweet potato

  • These nuts: cashews, chestnuts

  • Dry wine and unsweetened spirits (eg, Vodka, brandy)

  • Bitter chocolate (only 70-90%)

  • All fruit (fresh not dried)

The red list

The Red List are those foods or food products that should be avoided completely. This is because they are very high in carbohydrates or sugar, or include ingredients that are toxic to the body (such as preservatives, additives, artificial sweeteners, or seed oils).

Legal Law

Indian Labor Laws – Part 2 – Dismissal of Employee for Misconduct

This is my second article in the series on employment and layoffs of employees by Indian corporations. My previous article addressed the question of whether a company qualified for the development of software and information technology qualifies as an ‘industrial establishment’ within the meaning of the Industrial Conflicts Act of 1957 (“IDA”) and if said company may follow the “hiring and fire policy for termination of necessary services for reasons other than employee misconduct without compliance with the IDA. This article deals with a situation where termination of services is necessary due to employee misconduct and procedural compliance required by Indian labor laws.

For the sake of clarity, let’s consider a hypothetical situation where an employee services say that Mr. Shyam Nagpal has been terminated by an IT company effective immediately for misconduct and the Company now wants to understand the legal consequences of such rescission.

Mr. Nagpal was engaged in software development and acted as “Group Leader”. As group leader, Mr. Nagpal was responsible for monitoring and regulating the work of two or three associates on his team, as well as providing software development services. Mr. Nagpal’s performance during the first year of service was above average, but his performance deteriorated thereafter and he was often late for work. Taking into account the mediocre performance of Mr. Nagpal and due to the company’s decision to reduce its workforce, Mr. Nagpal’s services were terminated with immediate effect with one month’s salary instead. The Company soon realized that it had not taken adequate measures for the provision of Mr. Nagpal’s services and is evaluating his involvement and exposure under the law.

Evaluation

The validity of Mr. Nagpal’s termination and the consequences thereof under Indian law would largely depend on the crucial question of whether Mr. Nagpal was a “worker” within the definition of IDA.

An employee is called a worker if he or she is hired to perform any manual, unskilled, skilled, technical, operational, administrative, or supervisory work for pay or compensation. Excluded from the definition of worker is a person who is employed primarily in a managerial or administrative capacity, or who is employed in a supervisory capacity, earns salaries in excess of Rs 1,600 per month, or functions primarily of an administrative nature. Supervisor means a person who has the authority, in the interest of the employer, to hire, transfer, suspend, fire, retire, promote, fire, assign, reward or discipline other employees or the responsibility to direct them or adjust their complaints or to effectively recommend such action and in the exercise of such authority uses its independent judgment. Simply put, a supervisor is someone who has authority over others, to supervise and direct.

The Indian Labor Courts and Civil Courts have considered the actual and predominant functions performed by an employee and the remuneration received by said employee as the basis for determining the classification into the category of “worker” or “non-worker” and held that the Mere managerial or administrative appointments are inconclusive of any employee’s “non-worker” status.

The Supreme Court of India has repeatedly held that it is the main functions performed by an employee that should be considered for the purpose of determining the actual status of the employee, namely whether the employee has been performing administrative, managerial or administrative duties. supervision. . Sometimes an employee may be required to perform managerial, supervisory, or administrative work, but such occasional performance alone does not determine the actual status of the employee and it is the primary or primary duty performed by the employee that determines the status. actual employee and whether or not the employee in question is a worker under the IDA.

Consequently, whether Mr. Nagpal, who was presumably not in a managerial or administrative role, was employed in a supervisory capacity as a Group Leader or for technical / software development work, it will depend on whether the main and main functions made by him were:

(a) those of a supervisory nature, that is, he had powers to give instructions to others as to the actual way in which they should carry out and carry out their functions and to examine the work carried out by others in order to ensure that it was being done correctly, or
(b) of a nature made by a software developer.

If Mr. Nagpal was primarily doing supervisory work, but incidentally or for a fraction of the time, he also did some software development work, then he was employed in a supervisory capacity and would not be a worker under the IDA. On the contrary, if the main work performed was software development, the mere fact that some supervisory tasks were also carried out incidentally or as a small fraction of the work performed by Mr. Nagpal will not convert your employment. as a skilled worker in one of supervision. capacity.

Considering that the nature of the work carried out by Mr. Nagpal was primarily software development and not supervisory, Mr. Nagpal would be classified as “worker” in IDA terms.

In IDA terms, an employee in the category of worker who has been in continuous service for at least one year cannot be terminated at the will of the employer unless the employee is terminated through disciplinary action or as a result of failure to do so. renewal of the employment contract, or fired due to ongoing health problems, etc. Termination for any other reason, including termination of service due to reduction in turnover, amounts to a reduction in personnel and the IDA prescribes a detailed procedure for the reduction of personnel of a worker, including compliance with the rule of last in arrive, first out, notice, payment of prescribed compensation, i.e. 15-day average payment for each full year of continuous service, pre-government filings / approvals, if required, etc.

For termination of services for disciplinary reasons, the procedure for terminating an employee (who is classified as “worker” under the IDA) for misconduct and / or indiscipline (which should normally be incorporated into a company’s Employee Handbook) would need To be in terms of general principles of natural justice, the IDA and the guidelines evolved from various court decisions as follows:

(i) issue a charge sheet;
(ii) conduct an internal investigation;
(iii) examine the report of the investigating officer;
(iv) issue a demonstration of cause notice to the employee; Y
(v) issue order of punishment.
