Nokia N96 and Samsung I900 Omnia are high-end 3G smartphones with amazing features and design. Although these mobile phones have been equipped with a completely different operating system and there is a big difference in shape and design, there are still several similarities.

Following are some similarities and differences of the phones mentioned above:-

The first is an excellent dual slider 3G smartphone running on the Symbian operating system with a 2.8-inch QVGA LCD display that offers 16 million colors at a resolution of 240 by 320 pixels. On the contrary, the latter is a powerful widget that runs on a Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system and its large 3.2-inch TFT resistive touch screen offers a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and displays up to 256K colors.

Samsung I900 Omnia has been equipped with touch screen QWERTY keyboard, optical trackpad, accelerometer sensor for auto rotation and handwriting recognition features which are missing from its rival.

3G HSDPA, Bluetooth® with A2DP, USB, Wi-Fi WLAN (UPnP and HSCSD technology in Nokia N96) GPRS and EDGE are some of the features of these phones for fast data transfer and highly efficient connectivity.

Although both have a 5MP camera but with different features. Dual LED flash and auto focus are common features of these phones. In addition, Nokia N96 camera has Carl Zeiss Optics Tessar(TM) lens, auto exposure, camera key, camera settings, video settings, video streaming, video stabilizer, video light, live TV streaming ( DVBH).

While the camera of the Samsung I900 Omnia has autofocus, flash, camera settings, geotagging, face and smile detection, image stabilization and wide dynamic range.

Front facing camera for video calls, TV output and Java(TM) games are some of the features mutually available in these widgets.

Using these smartphones, you can access high-speed Internet with WAP 2.0 browser that supports xHTML and HTML, both of which support RSS feeds. But Nokia also has Nokia Web Browser with Mini Maps.

Nokia N96’s music player supports MP3, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA formats and its music features include Album art, Playlist, Sound equalizer and Voice commands. Its video player supports WMV, RV, MP4, 3GP files. MP3, WMA, OGG, AMR, AAC and AAC+ music files and MP4, WMV, XviD and DivX video files are acceptable through the Samsung I900 Omnia music and video player.

Stereo FM radio with RDS is a common feature of these competitors, but the Nokia phone has something extra in this regard, like Visual Radio, Nokia Internet Radio.

GPS navigation with A-GPS support can be seen in these two widgets, but in Nokia N96 users will find it with the maps of 150 countries and the Nokia Maps application. Also, Nokia’s phone has a document viewer and Samsung’s has Pocket Office feature to perform document-related tasks.
