Comparison between two business-focused devices: Nokia E63 and Blackberry Pearl Flip

Both the Nokia E63 and the Blackberry Pearl Flip are business-focused mobile phones, but there are also some differences in features and design. Let me tell you what are the similarities and differences of these smartphones.

Nokia E63 is a colorful, tablet-shaped phone made of plastic that runs on Symbian OS, version 9.2, complete with Series 60 3.1 software support. Comparatively, this one is lighter than its rival as it weighs 102 grams and measures 101 x 50 x 17.5mm. It is also exclusively designed with a half QWERTY keyboard with Trackball navigation. And it also features some other special attributes like SureType® keyboard software and keyboard backlighting.

Business related functions

WLAN Wi-Fi, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth with A2DP, and USB are common connectivity features featured on these smartphones, but Nokia has made its device much more powerful by adding 3G and HSCSD as well. The document editor is also a common feature of these competitors, but the Nokia E63 also included support for MS Office 2007 through a free update. In terms of web browsing options, the former is HTML, XHTML, MP, WML, CSS, Nokia browsers along with Mini Maps and the latter imparts HTML and RIM Wireless Modem. Using Nokia E63, you can send SMS, MMS, instant messaging, email (POP3, IMAP4, Mail For Exchange, and SMTP), email with attachment, text-to-speech message reader, and distribution list. In contrast, Blackberry Pearl Flip SMS, MMS, wireless email with attachments, instant messaging with predictive text input.

Camera and storage space

Both smartphones come with a 2 MP camera, but the functionalities are different on them. The Nokia E63 camera functions are digital zoom, LED flash, 1 meter flash range, flash mode (auto, off and forced), CMOS sensor, etc. While in Blackberry Pearl Flip it comes with Flash, Zoom, Dedicated camera key. The Nokia phone has 120MB of internal storage space and up to 16GB, while its challenger has 128MB of built-in memory and up to 8GB expandable.
