Which city actually has the most restaurants per capita?

Visit most city websites on the web and you’ll be surprised how many claim to have more restaurants per capita than anywhere else. This is claimed by San Francisco; Madison, Wisconsin; Washington D.C.; and Shreveport, Louisiana. At least Canadian cities do the same.

So which cities have a legitimate claim to the title of “Most Restaurants Per Capita”? The National Restaurant Association (NRA) publishes a list of restaurants per capita by state. According to the Association, California has by far the most restaurants with a staggering 87,225 dining establishments. The state of New York comes in with a measly 58,027. The top five are rounded out by Texas (53,631), Florida (41,901) and Pennsylvania (31,466).

In terms of per capita by state, Washington DC tops the list according to the NRA. The US capital region drives about 0.4 restaurants per 100 inhabitants. Second surprisingly is Montana with .354 restaurants per 100 people. Completing the top five of the NRA are Rhode Island (0.304 per 100) Vermont (0.303 per 100) New York (0.301 per 100). If you’re a little peckish, you might want to avoid the three states with the fewest restaurants: Mississippi, Kentucky, and Utah.
As for North American cities, it’s a bit more difficult to determine who can claim the title of city with the most restaurants per capita.

Here are ten cities with more than 100,000 people who have made the claim. But who has the real right? Who offers more options to the kitchen seeker or just the hungry shopper? Who can claim the title of The Restaurant City.

The city of San Francisco is a city of 744,230 people and claims to have 2,662 restaurants within the city limits. There is no doubt that the level of restaurants in the city by the bay is exceptional. If you just include San Francisco correctly, your density is 279 people per restaurant. But because of housing costs, the number of people living in the city proper has decreased, while the number of businesses, including restaurants, San Francisco is a skewed number. If you count the metro area, the number of restaurants jumps to 4,300 restaurants (we won’t include hundreds more in nearby Napa and Sonoma wine country). If you take the metropolitan area population of 7,168,176 and divide it by 4,300, you get a per capita density of 1,667 people per restaurant.

Winnipeg is a city on the edge of the Canadian prairies that has a wide cross-section of immigrant communities, all of which have their own local ethnic cuisines. If you want French toast for breakfast, perogies and sauerkraut for lunch, and Vietnamese imperial rolls for dinner, this is the place to come. This city regularly claims to have more restaurants per capita than any other city. Some websites claim that the city has 900 restaurants, but there are actually only 478. With a population of 619,544, Winnipeg can claim only one restaurant for every 1,296 Snowy Canadians.

Victory. This city on Vancouver Island and the capital of British Columbia, Canada, regularly claims that it has the “second highest number of restaurants per capita,” which is perhaps clever psychology, since the city has never dictated which is the best. . With a population of 335,000, the city claims to have 265 Italian, French, Greek, East Indian, Vegetarian, German, Dutch, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai restaurants. That means Victoria has one restaurant for every 1,264 people. But with its spectacular location midway between Vancouver and Seattle, you wouldn’t mind if your claim is a little off the mark.

In New York City no one cooks at home and by the time you’ve heard of a restaurant, it’s probably already closed. Restaurants open and close with alarming speed in the Big Apple. On average, New York City can claim 6,650 places to eat, from the chic Lespinasse to the greasyest diner on the corner – the most restaurants anywhere on the continent. However, with 8,168,338 people, New York can only boast 1,228 people per restaurant. It may seem like every other building in New York is a restaurant, but they have to cater to many vertically housed residents. That explains why it’s hard to find a table some nights.

The only Canadian city that can boast the most restaurants per capita is Montreal, in the province of Quebec. With just over 5,000 restaurants in the greater island area, there seems to be at least one restaurant on every corner. With its diverse immigrant population and its majority French, the city has every kind of cuisine available, from Lebanese to continental French to native Canadian. Some 3,720,000 Quebecers live in the metropolitan area, making Montreal the second largest French-speaking city in the world. Giving you a per capita restaurant number of 744.

When you leave Austin you enter Texas, the saying goes. This original city in central Texas has 1,088 places to eat to enhance its reputation as Music City USA. That list includes 128 establishments at or around the University of Texas alone. Austin’s growing population is currently 690, 252, making the ratio of people per restaurant 634.

Louisville, home of the Kentucky Derby, is a small city of just over half a million people. Pap John’s Pizza and Yum Brands, the parent company of A&W, KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, make Louisville their corporate headquarters, so it’s no surprise that this city on the Ohio River has 1,089 restaurants. That makes 510 people per restaurant.

Madison owns the title of “city with the most restaurants per capita” and the capital makes the claim throughout its literature. However, pinpointing the actual number of restaurants is quite difficult. The best available list points to 437 restaurants serving 221,551 people in the Wisconsin city. But that means only 506 people for each restaurant. Good for only the third on this list.

Wichita, Kansas is not usually a city that springs to mind when one thinks of cooking. But with an ethnically diverse workforce, Kansas’s largest city has a reputation for cultural diversity and sits in America’s breadbasket. The 739 restaurants in the city only have to serve 360,715 people. That translates to 488 people per restaurant, good for second place on our list.

Dallas. This Lone Star State city has a population of 1,250,950 and a selection of restaurants numbering 2,666. While the city is known for its barbecues and steakhouses, there is a surprising mix of great restaurants, from fine dining to basic. That means every restaurant, fast food joint and steakhouse in Texas’s third-largest city can boast a potential crowd of just 469 people. Making this city the winner of the title “City with the most restaurants per capita”.

My Personal Rules: The Top 10 List for Business Success or Failure!

1. My dad used to say that the customer is always right, especially when he is wrong.

Never forget that!

2. People tend to support what they help create.

Learn to rub all over your staff. Form the team and make it fun. Consider this especially given the current economic climate. The available workforce we have today will continue to improve as the labor market continues to shrink. In this job market, especially in fast food, hospitality, and most retail establishments, you really need to learn to love your staff. That minimum wage group usually leads to a troubled life. They are a disaster; their lives are a mess; and you need to make the work environment better than the home environment. If you do, the work environment becomes their escape and they will never want to leave you. That is what helps us retain staff. We have one of the lowest turnovers according to industry statistics.

3. Be pessimistic: the glass is always half empty.

As Intel’s Andy Grove once said, “Only the paranoid survive.” I think being bearish helps you keep your edge when you’re trying to work your way up to keeping the glass full.

4. Remember to hire both your strengths and your weaknesses.

Acknowledge your weaknesses. Ever since I was raised and brushed at my dad’s restaurant, I consider myself a pretty strong food and drink guy. So I always hired someone I could coach in that department who wouldn’t necessarily give me an argument on everything I had to say from a management perspective. However, my weakest link tends to be maintenance. After all, what the hell do I know about cleaning a coil?

What the hell do I know about changing a compressor? I’d be lucky to know where one was. Consequently, I find the most outrageous engineer who possesses all those necessary talents and pay the required salary because that engineer is gold to me. I recognize my weakness and I know that I am vulnerable. Never lose sight of your weaknesses when building your management team.

5. Greet customers enthusiastically as soon as they walk in the door and celebrate their arrival.

Use the “WOW Factor”. As my mentor told me 20 years ago, “Cold eggs will always seem a little warmer.” There’s a postscript to this: do the same with your staff. After all, there’s not much glamor in the hotel business about making beds, cleaning bathrooms, or washing dishes. As I see it, my job, your job, anyone’s job in managing people is nothing more than coaching and encouraging. Never forget how to be a cheerleader.

My mentor also told me… “Coupons will only convince the customer that they were charged too much to begin with.” Look what has happened to all of us. We wouldn’t think of buying a car without a rebate…coupons have become a way of life…and he told me this over 35 years ago!

6. Our job is not to be perfect but to recognize when we are not.

Over compensating for mistakes in the eyes of the customer. Remember, if you’re not making mistakes, then you’re not trying hard enough.

7. Train your staff.

An error made in executing a goodwill decision to resolve a customer problem will far outweigh the cost of the error. For example, take the guest who yells at 2:00 AM. The night auditor decides to “ruin the room” and sends him to the security guard. If it’s a family, orange soda and some ice cream are sent to the room. Hopefully the night auditor has sent a bottle of wine that is only $5 or $10 and not one that is $30 or $40. Even if they made a mistake and sent the most expensive wine to the room (because they didn’t know anything better or because they thought that was the right decision), at least there weren’t any screaming guests at the front desk the next morning. and you don’t end up having to make up your entire stay because of a problem that could have been resolved by a trained staff. If you follow this rule, you only have to work 10 percent harder than the competition to get a leg up on them. Take advantage of your management style through your people because the chain mentality is usually overwhelmed with too many rules and manuals. By training your staff, you will eat your competition’s lunch. As Ray Kroc once said at McDonald’s, “When the competition is drowning, shove a hose down their throat.”

8. To create a winning partnership with your staff, remember that the power of partnership is mutual respect both at home and in your business.

I have no morals, I have no ethics, but I exude integrity in everything I do. If you’re a son of a gun to work or a son of a gun to live, at least be gracious. Along these same lines, when it comes to managing people, the best book I’ve read on managing people is Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus. I implore you to read the book, but not when your relationship is in trouble. Read it when you are ready to apply your principles of mutual respect.

9. I have an interesting philosophy that compares business to sports.

If you ask most people if Michael Jordan is perhaps one of the greatest players to ever play basketball, most would agree. What is his rate of fire? Answer: 48 percent. If you ask most people if Pete Rose was perhaps one of the greatest players to ever play baseball, most would agree. What was your lifetime pass rate? Answer: not even close to 350. Consequently, he failed to execute 65 percent of the time. Michael Jordan doesn’t execute 52 percent of the time. If you think it’s different in life, you’re crazy. In my business, when I win 50/50, I am breaking even. When I earn two-thirds, I am making money. When I’m over 75 percent, life is wonderful. After all, “happiness is positive cash flow.”

10. Don’t burn your bridges.

It’s hard to swim back in a small world like bears. Our industry is an even smaller world. Please remember your roots and what it was like to crawl before you walked or ran. Egos are very fragile and very expensive. Remember when you do and we all will, “The good Lord gave us all two hands: one to take and one to give. Never forget the last.”

As published. Florida Hotel and Motel Magazine.

“Only the paranoid survive.”

“The operative word is focus. You have to put all your effort behind what you do better than other people in the business and then not hedge your bets. If you’re hedging, you’re much more likely to lose; and even if you win, you win.” in a mediocre way. If you focus and get it wrong, you lose, but if you get it right, you win big.” “Never let success stop you from worrying.”

Andy Grove – Intel

“When worms are scarce, what does a chicken do? Does it stop scratching? It doesn’t. Scratch even harder. Many entrepreneurs have been showing less sense than a chicken since orders were scarce. They have fired vendors, laid off or reduced their publicity, they have simply resigned themselves to inaction and, of course, pessimism. business”.

BC Forbes

“We have to get over the notion that we have to be average… It robs you of the opportunity to be extraordinary and leads to mediocre.”

Uta Hagen

“Wisdom is knowing what is right. Integrity is doing it.”

2 Awesome Ways to Get More Ezine Subscribers

Do you have an ezine but have no idea how to get more new subscribers? If so, you should know that this is a common dilemma among many online sellers. They hear the latest and greatest sales pitch on why they need a list of 500,000 people and how they can do it for just $100 in advertising.

Obviously this is nonsense, but people online make ridiculous claims like this all the time. You have to learn to separate the rubbish hype from the quality information. So, as I asked you before…would you like to know how to get more e-zine subscribers? If yes, then today’s lesson is just for you.

You’ll learn some tips for generating more opt-in leads simply and easily, and find out why they’re great ways to get more ezine subscribers and why they’re effective. I want to start with the first method to get more subscribers. This is the number one way to get more ezine subscribers:

1) A brief report

You can create a short 20+ page report in Microsoft Word and convert it to PDF, then hire a graphic designer to create an e-book cover to visually wrap your prospect’s mind around your offer. This is very common online, and virtually every online business can make this technique effective.

This is an amazing way to generate more leads for your business. You can insert links to your main product, affiliate products or web pages on your site which can increase your credibility. Nobody likes to buy from people they are not familiar with. So the more information you provide, the better. Here’s another way to get more ezine subscribers:

2) To YouTube video

A YouTube video is a great way to get more new leads for your ezine. However, you’ll want to make sure your videos actually contain a real person behind the camera. YouTube doesn’t like people making videos from articles they’ve written and then uploading them to YouTube. YouTube will ban you for this practice.

So, when making your videos, make sure you are YOU behind the camcorder lens, not some made-up or highly glorified article. You’ll want to strive for your videos to be around 10 minutes long. The longer the video, the more information you can provide, and that’s what people are looking for.

If you’re promoting a cake recipe, film yourself baking the cake. If you’re promoting a basketball video, record yourself doing the drills. If you’re promoting a training video, record yourself doing the training. This is the power of YouTube, and it’s something you can do simply and easily.

And of course…include a link to your site where the ezine is located so people can sign up. What good is all this if your website link is not displayed? So give yourself a little self-promotion.

Be sure to use these 2 tips to get more subscribers for your ezine. They are really effective.

Good luck with making your ezine a success today.

Selection of rules for investing and trading

There are three important differences between investing and trading. Ignoring them can lead to confusion. A beginning trader, for example, may use the terms interchangeably and misapply his rules with mixed and unrepeatable results. Investing and trading become more effective when their differences are clearly recognized. An investor’s objective is to acquire long-term ownership of an instrument with a high level of confidence that its value will continually increase. A trader buys and sells to capitalize on relative short-term changes in value with a somewhat lower level of confidence. The goals, time frame, and confidence levels can be used to outline two completely different sets of rules. This will not be an exhaustive discussion of those rules, but it is intended to highlight some important practical implications of their differences. Long-term investing is discussed first, followed by short-term trading.

My mentor, Dr. Stephen Cooper, defines long-term investing as buying and holding an instrument for 5 years or more. The reason for this seemingly narrow definition is that when you invest for the long term, the idea is to “buy and hold” or “buy and forget.” To do this, you need to remove the emotions of greed and fear from the equation. Mutual funds are favored because they are professionally managed and naturally diversify your investment across dozens or even hundreds of stocks. This doesn’t mean just any mutual fund and it doesn’t mean you have to stick with the same mutual fund all the time. But it does imply that one remains within the investor class.

First, the fund in question must have at least a 5- or 10-year history of proven annual earnings. You must feel confident that the investment is reasonably safe. You are not continually watching the markets to take advantage of or avoid short-term ups and downs. You have a plan.

Second, the performance of the instrument in question must be measured in terms of a well-defined benchmark. One such benchmark is the S&P 500 index, which is an average of the performance of 500 of the biggest and best performing stocks in the US markets. Looking back to the 1930s, over any 5-year period, the S&P 500 Index has risen in price about 96% of the time. This is quite remarkable. If the window is extended to 10 years, it is found that during any 10-year period the Index has gained in price 100% of the time. The S&P500 index has gained an average of 10.9% per year for the last 10 years. So the S&P500 index is the benchmark.

If one only invests in the S&P500 index, one can expect to earn, on average, about 10.9% a year. There are many ways to get into this type of investment. One way is to buy the trading symbol SPY, which is an exchange-traded fund that tracks the S&P500 and trades like a stock. Or, you can buy a mutual fund that tracks the S&P 500, such as the Vanguard S&P 500 Index Fund with a trading symbol VFINX. There are others too. Yahoo.com has a mutual fund filter that lists dozens of mutual funds with annual returns greater than 20% over the past 5 years. However, one should try to find a filter that provides performance for the last 10 years or more, if possible. To put this in perspective, 90% of the roughly 10,000 mutual funds out there don’t perform as well as the S&P500 each year.

The fact that 10.9% is the average market return over the last 10 years is even more remarkable when you consider that the average return on bank deposits is less than 2%, 10-year Treasury yields are about 4.2% and 30-year Treasury yields are only 4.8%. Corporate bond yields approximate those of the S&P500. However, there is a reason for this disparity. Treasury bonds are considered the safest paper investments and are backed by the United States government. FDIC-regulated savings accounts are probably the next safest, while corporate stocks and bonds are considered slightly riskier. Savings accounts are possibly the most liquid, followed by stocks and bonds.

To help you gauge the issue of safety and liquidity, long bondholders are comparing the bond returns they receive now to the anticipated stock returns for next year. Consider that the S&P500’s anticipated return for the coming year is about 4.7% based on the reciprocal of its average price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 21.2. However, the index’s 10-year annualized return has been 10.9%. Bondholders are prepared to accept half of the stock’s historical return for added security and stability. In any given year, stocks can go up or down. Bond yields are not expected to fluctuate much from year to year, although they have been known to do so. It is as if bondholders wanted the freedom to invest both short-term and long-term. Many bondholders are therefore traders and not investors and accept a lower return for this flexibility. But if you’ve decided once and for all that an investment is for the long haul, high-yield stock mutual funds or the S&P500 index itself seem like the best way to go. Using the simple compound interest formula, $10,000 invested in the S&P500 index at 10.9% per year becomes $132,827.70 after 25 years. At 21%, the amount after 25 years is more than $1 million. If, in addition to averaging 21%, just $100 a month is added, the total amount after 25 years exceeds $1.8 million. Dr. C. correctly believes that 90% of one’s capital should be allocated to various such investments.

Now that you’ve allocated 90% of your funds to long-term investments, that leaves you with about 10% for trading. Short to medium term trading is an area most of us are more familiar with, probably due to its popularity. However, it is significantly more complex and only around 12% of traders are successful. The time frame for trading is less than 5 years and is more typically a couple of minutes to a couple of years. The typical probability of hitting a trade direction approaches an average maximum of around 70% when using a proper trading system, less than 30% without a trading system.

Even at the low end of the spectrum, you can avoid getting wiped out by managing your trade size to less than 4% of your trading portfolio and limiting each loss to no more than 25% of any given trade while letting your winners run until decrease by no more than 25% of their peak. These percentages can be increased after there is evidence that the probability of choosing the correct direction of a trade has improved.

Intermediate-term trading relies more on fundamental analysis that attempts to assign a value to a company’s stock based on its history of earnings, assets, cash flow, sales, and any number of objective measures relative to current price of their actions. It may also include future earnings projections based on news of trade deals and changing market conditions. Some refer to this as value investing. In either case, the goal is to buy shares of a company at bargain prices and wait for the market to realize its value and raise the price before selling. When the stock is fairly priced, the instrument is sold unless continued growth in the value of the stock is seen, in which case it is moved to the investment category.

Since trading depends on the changing perceived value of a stock, your trading time frame should be chosen based on how well you can shake off the emotions of greed and fear. The better you can remove emotions from trading, the shorter the timeframe you can trade successfully. On the other hand, when you feel waves of emotion before, during, or immediately after a trade, it’s time to take a step back and consider choosing your trades more carefully and trading less frequently. One’s ability to remove emotions from trading takes a lot of practice.

This is not just a moral statement. A whole universe of what is called technical analysis is based on the aggregated emotional behavior of traders and forms the basis of short-term trading. Technical analysis is a study of a stock’s price and volume patterns over time. Pure technicals, as they are called, claim that all relevant news and valuations are embedded in a stock’s technical behavior. A long list of technical indicators has evolved to describe the emotional behavior of the stock market. Most technical indicators are based on moving averages over a predefined period of time. The indicator time frames should be adjusted to suit the trading time frame. The subject is too vast to do it justice in less than several printed volumes. The lower level of confidence involved in trading is the reason for the large number of indicators used.

While long-term investors can confidently use just one long-term moving average to track ever-increasing value, traders use multiple indicators to deal with shorter time frames of fluctuating value and higher risk. To improve your results and make them more repeatable, consider your expectations of value change, your time frame, and your level of confidence in predicting the outcome. Then you will know which set of rules to apply.

Top 15 myths about weight loss

There are many common weight loss myths that people follow when it comes to their health. Sometimes it’s hard to separate the myths and facts of weight loss from what is true. Many ring true, while others are just plain ridiculous. I once read somewhere that if you drink water at night you will get fat or if you scratch your head too often you will lose your hair…

Weight Loss Myth #1
The more weight I have to lose, the more intense my exercise routine should be

Weight Loss Truth: While having an intense workout routine is great, there are a few things you need to consider: The first is that everyone is on a different level when it comes to their fitness level and how intense they can actually handle it. If you’ve been physically inactive for a number of years, walking a half-mile a day might be strenuous exercise for you. After walking that half mile you realize that you are sweating profusely and that you are tired. However, for someone who has been physically active for many years, walking half a mile can be done without breaking a sweat. Everyone has a different definition of what “intense” is.

If exercising for an hour a day is intense for you, but due to life’s hectic schedule, you only have time for 20 minutes a day, then those 20 minutes will come in handy. It may not necessarily classify as “intense,” by your definition, but those little moments of cardio will have positive, health-altering effects.

Fat Loss Myth #2
Stress and weight gain don’t go hand in hand

Weight Loss Fact: This is one of those “laughable” myths. For more information on how stress adds to the pounds. into your life, download my free ebook, “The Psychology of Weight Loss”

Weight loss myth #3
can i lose weight eating what i want

The truth about weight loss: Sir Isaac Newton once said, “What goes up must come down.” There are natural principles that govern our lives. If you throw a ball in the air, it will come back down. You can sit on your couch and imagine and visualize that the ball will stay in the air, but natural principles teach us that it will come down. The same is true when it comes to our weight.

This is one of the most common myths about weight loss. It’s illogical to think that your health and weight are going to be in balance if your nutrition consists mostly of twinkies, fries, and doughnuts. Sure you can burn it off by exercising, but most people whose diet consists mostly of junk food probably aren’t disciplined enough to stick to an exercise routine. I know some people who, on the outside, appear to be in good shape, because they’re not “fat, they have high cholesterol.”

Just because I’m sorry I’ve crushed the hearts of so many twinkie lovers, I’d say this. You can eat junk food, cookies, chips, ice cream, pizza, hamburgers… All those “soul-satisfying foods”, but it should be in moderation. Anything in excess is never good.

Fat Loss Myth #4
Skipping meals is a good way to lose weight

Weight Loss Fact: There are numerous studies showing that people who skip breakfast and eat fewer times throughout the day tend to outnumber those who have a healthy nutritious breakfast and then eat 4-6 small meals throughout the day. day. The reason for this could be the fact that they are hungrier later in the day and may have a tendency to overeat during other meals of the day.

Weight Loss Myth #5
I’m not going to lose weight eating at night.

Truth about weight loss: You can enjoy food too much during the day and not eat at all at night and you will gain weight. As is the fact that you can starve during the day and eat all night and still gain weight. The key here is balance. If your body tells you that it is hungry, maybe you should listen to it. The truth is that eating in excess, without exercising, will make you gain weight; It doesn’t matter what time of day you eat. Whenever I feel hungry at night, as is my custom with other meals during the day, I try to select something that is natural in nature. Something like fruit, vegetables, or I could even make myself a fruit smoothie. During those times when I have a craving for ice cream or something sweet, I allow myself to have some and I do NOT feel guilty about it. Many overweight people live their lives with guilt and shame. I allow myself to get some, however, IN MODERATION.

Fat Loss Myth #6
I am not acceptable until I lose weight.

Weight loss fact: The person who feels unacceptable because they are fat is because they are unacceptable to themselves in the first place. The way you think others see you is based on your view of yourself. I honestly believe that one must be emotionally fit before being physically fit. I’ve been through these self-limiting emotions before. Once I realized that I was ALREADY ENOUGH in God’s eyes and that I had no need to prove myself to anyone or receive external validation for my self worth, that made all the difference to me. Once you accept yourself for who you are RIGHT NOW and realize that you are already enough in God’s eyes, you will not feel unacceptable because of your weight.

Weight loss myth #7
I need to cut calories to lose weight faster.

Weight loss truth: Cutting calories can be a great thing, if you’re overeating and drastically gorging yourself. However, if you’re eating proportionately, cutting calories could have an aversive effect. If you’re cutting calories and starving your body, that will lower your metabolism, or in other words slow it down, which can result in you not actually losing any weight, even if you’re “cutting calories.”

Fat Loss Myth #8
Skipping meals will help me lose weight.

Weight Loss Fact: Skipping meals can cause you to gain weight! You will be too hungry and will eventually have to eat. This will throw off your metabolism and eventually slow it down. Think of a car that is running out of gas (food), if you don’t fill it up it will eventually stop working. The same goes for our body, we need to keep it constantly fed.

Weight loss myth #9
I think I have a genetic weight gain, it runs in the family!

Weight Loss Truth: Can Anyone Say EXCUSES? I won’t deny that there may be tendencies in heavy parents to raise heavy children who will remain heavy all their lives, but I don’t think there really is a “fat” gene or DNA. What we do inherit from our family, mainly from those who directly raised us, are our opinions and beliefs. Your views on food, money, religion, politics, education, etc. they are based on how you were raised. If you were raised in a home where main meals were cooked with fried foods, then you might have a tendency to continue cooking and eating fried foods throughout your life. If that’s the case, you may have a little weight around your waist. The easy thing is to blame those who were in charge of your education, however, you ALWAYS have the option to change.

Fat Loss Myth #10
Eating healthy is very difficult

Weight loss fact: Eating healthy is the easiest thing in the world…once you’ve trained yourself to do so. How many times have you set yourself the goal of losing weight or “eating better”? The first few days he is doing very well, eating all kinds of foods that he normally would not eat. Then a funny thing started to happen, you went back to your old habits and behaviors. This has happened to you in other areas outside of your health. It could be making money, looking for a new job, or in your relationships. Creating a new habit takes time because our brains don’t like change. Changing the brain is dangerous. Anyway, if you’d like to learn more about how our brains try to sabotage us so we don’t form new habits, download my free eBook, “The Psychology of Shedding Weight.”

Weight loss myth #11
You have to give up your favorite foods to lose weight

Weight Loss Truth: What would a world be like without chocolate and pepperoni pizza? I think it would be a tortuous world to live in! lol, now on a real note, i completely disagree with this myth. You can definitely eat your favorite foods. Depriving yourself of this kind of pleasure is no fun, and frankly, you’ll probably eat it anyway. As mentioned before, the real key is moderation. If you’re a meat lover, then maybe it’s not best to eat it every day, but maybe once or twice a week. Those who know me personally know that I LOVE pizza chicken wings. In a perfect world where I wouldn’t gain any weight and my arteries wouldn’t clog, I’d love to eat it several times a week, well more like every day. However, I know that those are not the healthiest food options, so I eat them 2-3 times a month. I’m not giving up my favorite foods, I’m just eating them in moderation so they don’t overtake me as excess weight.

Fat Loss Myth #12
Overeating is caused by hunger.

Weight loss fact: Nice try. I wish we could blame “hunger” for it. In fact, this person we call hunger has nothing to do with you OVEREATING. It may have something to do with your body telling you it’s time to “fuel up” and you need food, but that’s not an indication that you should overeat. What causes many people to overeat are different reasons. One of the main ones is the feeling of stress, depression, loneliness, anxiety, fear and other degrading emotions of that nature. Many times food can be a means to satisfy your needs. You may actually be getting your needs met through your food. For example, if you live a lonely life and are not very happy, then food could be a way for you to feel happy and comfortable. There are other articles I’ve written on this topic, but suffice it to say that overeating is NOT caused by being hungry.

Weight loss myth #13
Only crash diets work

Weight Loss Truth: There goes that word again… DIET… those “crash diets” are only good for rapid weight loss and rapid weight gain once you achieve it. These crash diets range from the “cookie diet” hehehe… All that way to the “water only diet”… I’m sure you can lose weight while following these DIEs, however the weight does will win correctly. backwards and usually with some extra weight as a bonus

Fat Loss Myth #14
I’m too fat and too advanced to start

Weight loss fact: A long journey begins one step at a time. It’s natural to expect instant results and even fear the road ahead; especially if you are very overweight. The secret here is to make SMALL incremental changes. Don’t expect perfection because that will lead to disappointment. You’re never too far down the road to where you can’t see the sunlight…

Weight loss myth #15
I can’t do it, I have tried many times and failed.

The truth about weight loss: The great Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right”… It’s 90% mindset and 10% losing weight . your butt and do something about it. You fall, you get up again… you fall down, you get up again. If you’ve tried to lose weight in the past, it’s time to keep trying. Discouragement is losing weight like a piece of fried chicken is to a vegetarian… They DO NOT go hand in hand.

Chinese Wedding Speech – The Great Tradition

The Chinese are very traditional when it comes to weddings. The tradition goes beyond the ceremony itself. That is why the Chinese wedding speech is a very important part of the reception. It is performed by a hired master of ceremonies (master of ceremonies) who will officiate the entire reception.

Chinese Wedding Speech: All About Tradition

The traditional speech at a wedding in China begins the same as our similar speeches. At first, the master of ceremonies introduces himself and welcomes all who join in the joyous occasion. He then congratulated the bride and groom on meeting each other and wished them good luck on their journey together. After this, he will ask each of the important people in the life of the couple to say a few words for the bride and groom.

After the bridesmaids, the best man and the parents of each of the bride and groom, the master of ceremonies will ask the bride and groom to say a few words. After this, he will go to the official cutting of the cake where the bride and groom would feed each other and also their parents. This will show solidarity between the families and give them a symbolic opportunity to bond as their children.

A wedding speech is one of the Chinese traditions and how husband and wife should treat each other during their marriage. The parents of the bride and groom are often the ones giving advice on family life and how the bride and groom should treat each other as they continue their journey as a married couple.

The traditional wedding color in China is red, as opposed to the white color of the Western tradition. It symbolizes peace and prosperity for the couple and also for their families. The Chinese, most of the time, include something about tradition in their wedding speeches. This is to remind the newlyweds how important this is to Chinese culture.

The Chinese Wedding Speech: A Window into the Oriental Soul

A Chinese wedding is one of the many ways that tradition is given importance. This is why it is imperative that the Chinese instill the value of tradition in their wedding speeches. The Chinese do this to pass on the great knowledge that their ancestors have given them from generation to generation.

Therefore, if you are invited to a Chinese wedding, make sure you are aware of their traditions and how to behave during the occasion. It’s done because you don’t end up embarrassing yourself and the couple in front of the whole crowd.

The Chinese wedding speech not only shows how important tradition is to them, but also how they show their love through their words spoken in the speech.

If you listen very carefully, you won’t find much difference between Western and Eastern wedding speeches. Both cultures take it as an opportunity to express their love and affection for their partner. It shows that love goes beyond nationality and tradition.

Thank you for the time you spent with me reading this article on the Chinese wedding speech! I would also love to meet you on my blog for the opportunity to tell you more about wedding speeches.
