Romance in Tortola-British Virgin Islands

Tortola is one of the many British Virgin Islands. Just 60 miles east of Puerto Rico are the West Indies. These islands can be accessed from the air via San Juan or by a 15-mile ferry through St. Thomas (approximately $ 50 / person / roundtrip). The islands were named one of the top ten islands in the Caribbean in 2006 by Conde Nast Traveler. The 12 inhabited islands have villas, apartments, and resorts to choose from. Finding the most romantic of each island is my personal quest. I specialize in romantic travel and I try to find at least one great property on every island I visit to share with my clients.

The British Virgin Islands, as those who know them know them, are an overseas territory of the United Kingdom, although the US dollar is the only legal tender. For most visitors, the islands are really about sailing. You can rent a yacht with a crew or attend a recognized teaching school for sailing. For me, it was finding a romantic hotel to send my honeymoon and anniversary clients to visit.

A wedding in the British Virgin Islands will be stress-free and memorable. A marriage license is easy to process and the certificate is valid in the United States. I was able to witness one of those stress-free weddings at the cozy and romantic Sugar Mill Hotel. The rain forced the wedding to take place under the large open-air gazebo in the shade of the trees. With twinkling lights, flowers, and ribbons, the atmosphere was definitely romantic.

The Sugar Mill Hotel is nestled in a lush tropical garden amongst the ruins of a 17th century sugar plantation. According to Conde Nast Traveler 2006, the Sugar Mill Hotel is one of the top 5 in the Caribbean. The critically acclaimed kitchen in the historic stone building once housed the plantation’s rum distillery. The food is a culmination of Caribbean ingredients combined with California cuisine in an imaginative, award-winning menu that changes nightly.

Across the street from a small white sand beach in reef-protected waters, this resort is located on the west side of the island. Travelers from the USA should remember to drive on the left side of the road. I suggest a taxi from the airport. Car rental can be arranged at the Sugar Mill Hotel if desired.

The hotel has a bridal suite located very close to the restaurant. Although superbly equipped, this freestanding unit is too close to the parking lot and pool for me. I prefer the Plantation House Suites. They are designed to reflect the charm of traditional Caribbean architecture, with fine stonework, airy porches and ginger lace trim. These rooms are just a few steps from the beach. With an open-plan layout, each master suite has a king size bed, a large bathroom with two sinks, a living room with a sofa and chairs, cable TV, VCR, and a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator. The steep slopes provide all guests with great views of the ocean and some neighboring islands.

Honeymoon package for 7 nights includes luxury accommodation, bottle of fine champagne, jeep rental for 3 days, 1 hour massage, full day sailing to neighboring islands with lunch and drinks, gourmet picnic for two, a bottle of Sugar Mill rum, welcome cocktail and a copy of the Sugar Mill Caribbean cookbook written by Jeff & Jinx Morgan columnists – Bon Appetit. Breakfast and dinner can be included in your daily charge.

If discreet and relaxing is what you are looking for, this island resort is for you. Not for people with physical disabilities, this hotel is for some special people who enjoy meeting the staff and other guests.

Can the rideshare industry reinvent itself?

It wasn’t that long ago that UBER came onto the scene. Now, just ten years later, they are considering a possible $ 120 billion valuation as an IPO. LYFT, another ridesharing business that started in 2012 now, seven years later, is valued at 15.1 billion.

Ridesharing companies like Uber and LYFT were born out of the tech boom we’ve all witnessed in the last 10 years. Companies like Groupon and Airbnb have become benefactors of a new era of growth never seen before.

The carpool started because a company (UberCab) in San Francisco came up with an app that could call a ride with a smartphone, the rest is history.

Innovation, cutting-edge technology, recognition of a need in the marketplace, and experienced leadership are all factors that contribute to creating a successful company.

The question is, can these innovative startups that have been so successful evolve once again? The answer is obviously yes.

Horse-drawn rental carriage services began operating in both Paris and London in the early 17th century. Proof that there is always room for new disruptive innovators.

How can you reinvent the rideshare industry?

When one industry failed to meet the demands of growing market share, another is ready to take its place. The secret, of course, is to recognize and understand the failures of companies like Uber and LYFT and fill that gap.

Where are these possible loopholes?

Listening to the complaints of drivers and passengers opens up new opportunities for innovation.

RIDERS

Rider Safety Concerns

Surprising surge charges

Unable to travel with small children: Uber and LYFT do not provide child safety seats.

You cannot request a driver that they like.

CONDUCTORS

Security concerns

You need a better salary structure for drivers. Pay the bills but that’s it.

Inconsistent, good as a temp job, but nothing for the long-term employee.

You cannot create your own business book to create more consistency.

Interrupt disruptors

One such company by the name of TRYP Technologies, Inc. has identified many of these gaps and appears to be on the forefront of becoming a disruptor to the rideshare industry. Your model not only creates more independence for drivers, it also addresses many of the concerns that drivers have. TRYP Technologies, Inc. is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada and promises to become a major disruptor in the ridesharing market beginning in 2019.

For TRYP passengers they have addressed

  • Security concerns that allow the passenger, with a single click, for the home office to listen and act on it.
  • Second, there are no additional charges, which has always been a common complaint.
  • They promise to be one or two percent less than their competitors.
  • They have addressed the concerns of parents with young children with car seat availability.
  • They can also request the driver of their choice.
  • Referral program that earns points that can be converted to cash.

As for TRYP controllers, they can

  • Earn 100% of the fare and tip and can be paid from the app instantly.
  • Drivers pay a monthly software subscription fee of $ 199.
  • The driver app includes clickable safety features, allowing the home office to listen and act accordingly.
  • Create your own business book that allows passengers to request them.
  • Referral program that earns each time a referred driver picks up a passenger.
  • Storage options

Tryp technology is designed to provide fast, effective and affordable on-demand transportation with complete peace of mind throughout your trip. Their claim to closely monitor the safety of all their users at every point during Tryp’s journey makes them a disruptor to the ridesharing industry.

Winning Tricks With Proof

If you are trying to learn a roulette winning trick, one of the most useful tricks in the game would be to have a roulette winning strategy that is foolproof. The most important thing in winning at the game of roulette is being able to know the roulette wheel thoroughly and precisely. Knowing the roulette wheel is not as easy as it sounds since it has many parts and functions. It may look like an ordinary object, but there are actually many complex functions that go into its operation and functionality. To be able to get an idea of the different functions of the wheel and how they can affect the result of a spin, a person must study and learn all about roulette wheels. Some of the roulette winning tricks with proof include the following.

Roulette Prediction Software

There are four types of wheels in a casino. These are known as the European, American, British and Chinese. Each of these wheels has a number of spins that depend on the person’s throw of the ball. The spin number of the European wheel is twelve, while the American wheel has ten. The British wheel has three and the Chinese wheel has five. When a person throws a ball onto the European wheel, the wheel starts rotating and the person is out of the game.

On the other hand, when a person throws the ball onto the American wheel, it starts rotating when the person spins the wheel. In this case, the person gets a four-sided spin that counts for his winnings. However, when a person spins the Chinese wheel, he will get only a three-sided spin and this counts as no win. This trick is very difficult to understand but if a person is really interested in winning, he should try this.

Importance of "Execution date" we have a real estate contract

In case you were unaware, actions taken on a contract are tied to the “performance” date, also known as the “final acceptance date” (Texas Association of REALTORS® (TAR) Form 1601, p. 7 ). This means that all annexes or agreements with specified time limits must be fulfilled within the specified time on a calendar day and day one begins the day after the execution date.

The most important time period for the home buyer or seller to consider is the option period, if one has been negotiated. For the sake of simplicity, let’s use a hypothetical contract signed by all parties and executed on December 31st with a ten-day option period. This means that the first day of the options period begins on January 1 and ends at midnight on January 10. This option period is often used for property inspections, insurance quotes, and repair negotiations. Once this hurdle is overcome, the assessment and survey is conducted to complete the closing process.

When it comes to homeowners association documents, surveys, and third-party financing approvals, the same rule applies. If the appendices specify a certain number of days, one has to make sure to meet the deadlines or be in default, which is never a good thing.

Remember, the clock starts ticking on the final acceptance date, also known as the execution date or effective date. Professional REALTORS® should always be aware of the time constraints within your contract and should remind you of the date as a buyer or seller. If not, be sure to ask your REALTOR® what the deadline is.

Do you know the details of the ready-to-assemble cabinet?

Available in up and down counter versions, RTA cabinets help save money. You could spend double the amount on custom cabinets. Understand the brands, how they were built, the quality and the finish of the wood, before buying imported products.

Beware of these factors on imported RTA cabinets.

• Aim for nice colors and finishes.

• Finishing by hand lasts longer than spraying.

• It is best to avoid cam locks and slot assembly.

• Component replacement easily done by local manufacturers.

• Check quality and ask questions about breakage.

Some buying tips

Hardware-wise, make sure the sliders are of good quality and close smoothly. Does it have self-closing hinges? Ask about replacements and damage and how long it would take to receive new parts. Cabinets made in America would be better and more convenient. If it is a shelf, it is not necessary to replace the entire cabinet. Finishing material made in America would be better because imported ones have poor coating. Hand cleaned liner is better with a richer depth and more expensive due to labor and materials.

Some imported RTAs offer a true slot mount with fasteners and glues that can be screwed or nailed down. What happens over time is that the expansion and contraction of the wood takes place and also the displacement and peeling begins. Dovetail technology is offered by an American manufacturer, which means that crumbling cannot take place after assembly.

Examine the drawers and doors. Consider your preferences as a full overlay or recessed door. Do you have a particular color in mind? Maybe you can buy an unfinished piece if you want to apply the finish? Chinese imports don’t allow all that flexibility and domestic products may be better.

Would you buy Chinese regional trade agreements?

Why not go for the Chinese with affordable prices and pretty good standards? Buying household products relieves you of some worries, such as obtaining replacement parts. However, many manufacturers in China are doing quite well and their products are definitely worth buying. If you’re a smart shopper, you know the benefits and pitfalls of imported RTAs. Please buy accordingly with understanding. Be prepared for staggeringly low prices, which come straight from the factory.

buildings

Chinese cabinets are made of plywood and that is cheap. The design is easy to assemble. Avoid relying only on cam locks and use glue for added strength. The 6-8 door style and various commonly available finishes are inexpensive. It will not be possible to mix and match. There are limited options available when it comes to door styles in terms of colors and glass doors are not to be found. The common wood is Russian birch. Buy with confidence.

History of Mercedes Benz: The 230SL Pagoda

The Mercedes Benz 230SL and its successors 250SL and 280SL (1963-1971)

For the first time in the history of Mercedes Benz, the car was shown to the press two weeks before its official presentation on March 14, 1963 at the Geneva Motor Show. In this way, it was ensured that their reports were published on or before the car’s official launch date. This Benz was eagerly awaited and no one knew whether it would follow the mighty 300SL or the popular 190SL. He did not follow any of them. When Prof. Fritz Nallinger, chief engineer and member of the executive board, introduced the new Mercedes Benz 230SL, internally called W 113, it created something of a stir. As Erich Waxenberger, Rudolf Uhlenhaut’s talented engineer once remarked, the car looked as if a tree had fallen on top of it. The ceiling was, well … unusual. But it wasn’t just the roof that created some buzz, it was also the car’s performance. Everyone expected a successor to the legendary 300SL.

Daimler-Benz, of course, was firm in its approach to the role of the new SL. It was neither a 300SL nor a 190SL. It was a high-performance touring sports car with superior handling characteristics that could carry two passengers plus their luggage in style, comfort, and most of all, safety. It was a very Mercedes Benz on its own. To demonstrate the sporty aspect, Rudolf Uhlenhaut, always available for a quick blast on a race track, pushed the 230SL down a 1.5km circular circuit near Montreux in the presence of the press. Most impressive was that British Grand Prix driver Mike Parkes was not able to drive much faster. However, his car was not the SL, his car was a Ferrari 250GT Berlinetta!

Although many of the car’s technical features weren’t new at all, it was the combination and its enhancements that made this Benz special. The undercarriage had a recirculating ball steering and a dual-circuit braking system. Girling disc brakes were installed on the front axle, while Alfin vacuum-assisted drums were installed on the rear. For the first time in the history of Mercedes Benz, such a car could be ordered with power steering and the most shocking thing for most European journalists – automatic transmission. A sports car and automatic transmission? Absolutely impossible! Not only did the press think that way, it was the same with most of the European public. Not surprisingly, very few cars of this type were sold in Europe. The Americans were already one step ahead, for them the combination of sports car and automatic transmission made perfect sense. And since Daimler-Benz thought of selling about 80 percent of the car abroad, this extra was certainly beneficial. The Benz came standard with a four-speed manual transmission with a 3.75: 1 gear ratio. It was similar to the one used in the 220SE but with a shorter first gear ratio of 4.42: 1 instead of 3.64: 1. It should. guaranteeing faster acceleration, but it was not universally appreciated, so in 1965 the manual transmission of the new 250S / SE was adopted.

In 1967, two years after the launch of the 250 series sedan, the 230SL was replaced by the 250SL. Its larger engine reduced somewhat mediocre performance at low revs. Unfortunately, it suffered from reliability issues at high speeds, something that didn’t amuse a sports car driver much. Although this problem was quickly resolved, the car was also famous for its relatively high fuel consumption. After just one year, it was replaced by the bigger, more stuffy 2.8L engine. It offered 170 hp at 5,750 rpm compared to the previous 150 hp at 5,500 rpm, it also had a bit more torque and improved fuel economy.

While the 250SL Benz cost 22,800.- DM ($ 5,700.-) about the same as the 230SL, the 280SL cost 1,500.- DM ($ 375.-) more expensive. In the United States the 280SL costs around $ 7,500.-, depending on the extras. However, the customers didn’t care, they loved the package and came running. In its five years the Mercedes Benz 280SL managed to sell 23,885 units, more than half of them went to North America. The 230SL sold 19,813 units during the same period.

Healthy Foods to Eat on a Budget

If you are on a tight budget, finding healthy foods in the grocery store may seem like a challenge, but there are healthy and inexpensive options in every aisle of the store. As tempting as all that junk food may seem, it can actually be cheaper to eat food prepared at home. And with a little imagination and experimenting with herbs and spices in the kitchen, it will taste better too. The first key to healthier eating is having more healthy foods available to eat at home. So stop going self-service and buy no more prepackaged and processed foods than you probably have in your kitchen now. Get organized by creating a meal plan and a shopping list of the foods you need to prepare those meals. The next step is to go to your local grocery store and start shopping for whole foods that you can make at home with the kitchen resources you have there.

Increasing your consumption of whole foods, especially fruits and vegetables, will make your overall food selection much easier. If the foods you are choosing contain more than 5 ingredients and include many unknown and unpronounceable items, you may want to reconsider your purchase. Counting calories, carbohydrates or grams of fat will not be as necessary when selecting foods that are more of a product of nature than a product of industry. Finding healthy foods to eat at the grocery store is pretty simple. They are found in “fresh food” sections such as the produce and refrigerated meat and fish departments. Frozen and dry aisles also contain good healthy foods, though there are plenty of unhealthy distractions too.

Healthy foods to have available at home to cook include whole foods (foods in their most natural state), fruits and vegetables, dairy products (low-fat milk, yogurt, cheese, and eggs), seafood, lean cuts of pork, and meat. beef and chicken, naturally sweetened whole juices and lots of water.

The types of foods to avoid include refined grains (white flour or white rice), refined white sugar, any form of corn syrup, and anything that contains more than 5 ingredients in a box.

Making the switch to eating healthy foods requires a change in mindset, along with some imagination and preparation. It will help to make a weekly meal plan and, from there, a good, organized shopping list to take to the store. This will help you stay focused and reduce the amount of trips you make to the grocery store.
