How to enjoy Disney World for free

Just because you’re at Disney World doesn’t mean you have to display the plastic at every turn. There are many fun ways to enjoy the attractions without having to spend your wallet. Sssssh. Do not tell anybody. Here are some great tips to help you enjoy great entertainment at absolutely zero cost.

Delve into the center

Whether you want to window-shop or people-watch, there’s a lot to see at Downtown Disney. Watch mimes, magicians, and puppeteers take to the streets and perform for free. Discover the cool magnets at Magnetron Magnetz or explore the Art of Disney. Check out incredible Lego sculptures like the whimsical Snoozing Man. Be sure to bring sun hats.

Snap, pop crackle

What is that, you say? Free fireworks. People on the other side of the door may have paid to see the Magic Kingdom nightly fireworks show, but you can get a great view without paying a penny from the resort’s beaches – The Polynesian and Grand Floridian. Both complexes offer free short-term parking. If someone asks, they will go to the hotel cafeteria.

Why not the Wilderness Lodge?

You will want to check with the hostel for times and days. Kids can do a Mickey Mouse search where they have to search the entire hostel to find where Mickey is hiding.

Water contest at Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake

This is truly one of the secret treasures of Disney World that is often underestimated. Every night a long line of barges lines up along the lagoon and lake and puts on a spectacular light show. Once again, the beaches at the Grand Floridian and Polynesian resorts, as well as the beach and marina at Fort Wilderness are the places to see the sky shoot out the lights in a fantastic way.

Boardwalk Boogie

Walk to the old boardwalk with its nostalgic 1940s Cape-May charm. Musicians, jugglers, mimes, and all manner of street performers will keep you enchanted in a beautiful seaside setting as dazzling lights twinkle in the darkening sky.

Strong desert

Take a long, leisurely hike along the several miles of trails that weave between pine and cypress forests in Fort Wilderness. While you’re there, take the kids to Petting Farm, open every day from 7 a.m. to dusk. It will not cost a penny and you will get an incredible return on your investment

Garden tour

Who knew that the Yacht and Beach Club Resort offers free tours of the gardens? This is truly a little known treasure, as the gardens are magnificent. You’ll want to call ahead for more details.

Bet you didn’t know there were so many things to do at Disney World that it didn’t cost you a penny.

Technology

The text telephony exemption

As we rapidly move forward with VoIP around the world, adoption rates are not uniform across all households and businesses. For example, unreliable access to 911 and the requirement for constant power backup have been obstacles for households with the elderly, young children, or people with disabilities to upgrade to VoIP. However, these obstacles are gradually being removed by alternative arrangements such as E911 and portable generators.

Therefore, households and businesses in dense or urban areas have already migrated to VoIP, while others still rely on landlines, although that number is steadily decreasing every year. However, it’s not just landlines that are falling by the wayside. Many other services and technologies that rely on the Plain Old Telephone System (POTS) are also struggling to keep up with the conversion to IP networks.

TTY waivers

One such technology is TTY, which is used by millions of people with hearing and speech impairments. It was developed in the 1960s and for communication through typing rather than speaking / listening. As long as both users have a TTY device, they can communicate by typing responses. Even if a user does not have access to such a device, they can use TRS, in which an operator transcribes a person’s message and sends it to the other user who has a TTY device. The other person can type a response that the operator reads aloud to allow two-way communication.

With the migration to IP networks, telephone operators cannot support TTY because it does not work reliably in a data environment. However, many providers are working on the development of a replacement technology called RTT or real-time text to fulfill the same function, but it will work better on IP networks. However, RTT is not mature enough to completely replace TTY in one go. So to allow operators to move forward in replacing TTY with RTT, the FCC has granted exemptions to AT&T (and will do so for other operators as well) that will exempt the provider from complying with existing TTY regulations, subject to certain conditions.

As long as AT&T periodically informs its customers of alternative means of contacting 911, since TTY will not work, they can move forward with the RTT implementation. The exemption will be in effect until December 31, 2017 or until new regulations for RTT are approved. In effect, the waivers ensure that people with hearing or speech disabilities will continue to have some form of communication available during the transition to new technology.

Entrepreneurship as a career option?

Before you jump into starting your own business, ask yourself these four questions:

o Is it really a better personal career choice?

o What do I need to know to decide?

o How can I prepare?

o How do I start?

In this article, I’ll help you find answers to those key questions by drawing on my own experience as a corporate manager and entrepreneur, plus what I’ve learned from over 15 years of consulting owner-managers.

Do you really want to own your own business? The pros are attractive, but don’t forget the cons that are an unavoidable part of the choice.

Advantage

o Unlimited opportunity

o Opportunities that match my abilities?

o Need of the market?

o Current solutions available?

o What is my proposed solution?

Fifth wheel puller or bumper?

For many RV’ers, this question is a hot topic. For others, it is not even on the horizon. It all depends on the type of RV you are in and what you would like to move to.

For example, I’ve been towing travel trailers for several years. What will my next motorhome be? I’m thinking of getting a fifth wheel toy transporter. Why? I want the toy carrier for the flexibility in the ways that I can use it. I want the fifth wheel version because of the floor plans that are not available from the bumper pulls. But, it’s just me. This article is about what you want.

By the way, the descriptive terms you will hear can be confusing. A fifth wheel is a fifth wheel. That’s what people call it. On the other hand, there is no standardized term for the others. You will hear people refer to them as “travel trailers”, “bumper pullers”, “trailer types” or some other terms. For the sake of this article, I’ll use the term “bumper pull” because it better describes the hitch location.

Now that we understand the terms, let’s look at the basic differences between the two. The most obvious difference is where the trailer connects to the tow vehicle. The bumper pull hitch is, of course, located on or near the rear bumper of the tow vehicle. The fifth wheel hitch is located in the truck bed on the rear axle.

The first thing that becomes clear is that you will not be using a car to tow a fifth wheel trailer. The location of that hitch requires a truck. The bumper pull trailer can be towed by car or truck.

There is another factor about fifth wheel towing that requires a truck to be used as a towing vehicle. The design of the fifth wheel frame is such that it tends to be heavier than that required for a bumper towing trailer. That extra weight needs the strength that only a truck can provide.

So why do people choose one over the other? One reason is the size of the unit. The longer a trailer is, the more likely it is designed as a fifth wheel. The smaller it is, the more likely it is to be a bumper puller design.

The main problem here is the stability of the trailer when towing. The pivot point (hitch) of a bumper towing trailer is a few feet behind the axle of the tow vehicle. This can cause the trailer to exert a lever on the truck. Longer units need a good anti-roll hitch to keep the truck and trailer under control if they hit you with side winds.

The pivot point of the fifth wheel hitch is on the axle of the truck. There is no way the trailer can exert influence on the truck if a gust of wind hits it. That is the main reason why longer trailers tend to be fifth wheel drives.

Another factor in choosing is cost. Fifth wheel drives tend to be more expensive than a bumper pull trailer of the same size. This is why most of the smaller and less expensive units are bumpers. They are lighter and less expensive to produce.

There is a big difference in the amount of living space you get for every foot of trailer space on the road or in the campground. A bumper towing trailer that is 30 feet long will give you about 25 to 26 feet of living space. The remainder of the length is the tongue sticking out in front of the trailer. As for the overall length of the truck and trailer, that full 30 feet adds to the length of the truck.

A fifth wheel uses length more efficiently. In most cases, a 30 foot fifth wheel will give you approximately 30 feet of living space. Because the hitch is on the rear axle of the truck, the amount of trailer hanging behind the truck will be more like 24-25 feet. The combined length of the truck and trailer will be 8-10 feet shorter for the same amount of living space.

Most fifth wheel trailers require at least a 3/4 ton truck as a towing vehicle. Most bumper pullers can be safely handled with a 1/2-ton truck. The main reason for this is the amount of weight that is placed on the hitch.

Most bumper towing trailers are designed to place approximately 10% of the total weight on the hitch ball. Putting that much weight on a hitch 3 to 4 feet behind the axle works like a lever to lift the front of the truck. A good weight compensating hitch becomes extremely important as trailer size moves toward medium or large sizes.

The fifth wheel trailer is designed to place approximately 15% of the total weight on the hitch pin that is on the axle of the truck. That amount of weight, alone, requires a heavier truck.

So where does that leave you? If you already have a 3/4 ton or larger truck, your options are wide open. It depends on which floor plan and price range work best for you.

If, on the other hand, you have a small car or truck, you’re pretty much limited to a smaller bumper pull trailer. Most cars and small trucks are limited to trailers that weigh 3,500 pounds or less. Light trailers won’t offer many amenities. At the same time, they offer an inexpensive entry point into the wonderful world of motorhome travel.

It all comes down to where you are and where you want to be in the grand scheme of things. The tow vehicle will determine the size and style of trailer it can safely pull. If you want to pull something bigger, you will need to upgrade your tow vehicle.

The other main factor is, of course, your budget. It’s true that you can save a lot of money on your vacation trips by traveling light with a tent or even a pop-up trailer. Because hotel and restaurant costs can add up pretty quickly, camping can be a real bargain.

However, there comes a point where you are no longer camping to save money. You are camping because you really enjoy the VR lifestyle. Let’s face it, a brand new 3/4-ton truck with a matching fifth wheel trailer can easily approach $ 80,000 – $ 100,000. You can’t camp enough to save so much money!

So as far as the fifth wheel vs. Flip the bumper, the bottom line is this: how much are you willing to spend? Most bumper traction units are at the low end to the midpoint of the scale. Most fifth wheel drives will start from the midpoint and work their way up to the upper end of that same scale.

Where are you and where do you want to be?

School Marketing

What is school marketing?

Marketing may seem to some to be a corporate term that does not apply to a school. While we can all recognize that a school is very different from a large consumer brand, most of the principles of marketing can and have been applied successfully to schools. We have tried in a few words to explain what marketing is for schools and how they should approach it.

Each school provides a service (education), has clients (students and their parents), has competitors (similar schools), and operates within a market (educate).

Although it may seem a bit crude to see education as a product and the student as a customer, marketing would probably help most schools better understand the environment in which they operate and more clearly define their identity (or ‘brand’). . The benefit of marketing for schools, as it is for all businesses, is to recognize the factors that influence them, understand those factors, and use this information to plan for future success. School Marketing Plan A marketing plan is usually created in three stages: objectives, strategies, and tactics. Goals have the longest time period (typically 1 to 5 years) and are the company’s key market ambitions. Strategies have a medium term and contribute to the achievement of a particular objective, while tactics have the shortest term, are the most adaptable and facilitate strategy. Marketing goals should be agreed upon in accordance with admissions, fundraising, and development plans.

Who in the school does marketing?

We found that people’s job roles within schools vary, much depending on the size of the school, whether with state or private funds, and also on the need for expansion or prevention of declining numbers. Marketing is carried out more frequently as you might expect from the chief marketing officer, but it is also the responsibility of principals, assistant principals, administrators, and classroom teachers; roughly in that order.

School Marketing Levels

We propose that there are three different levels:

1. Research level marketing: environment analysis, competitor research, customer research

2. Marketing at the brand level: vision, mission statement, brand identity, logo elements.

3. Communication level marketing: logo design, uniform style / colors, school website, school leaflet, signage, livery (such as vehicles), office supplies, etc.

One item that is not included is the name of the school, as it is typically not decided in the same way as other identity / marketing decisions for the school. Those responsible for creating a new school or rebranding / marketing an existing school will have to make decisions regarding all of the separate items listed above and are likely to work chronologically through categories one, two, and then three (as noted in The vignette).

What is pediatric physical therapy?

Pediatric physical therapy is a healthcare profession that encompasses the evaluation and treatment of infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents. It is very important to discover and treat children’s problems early. Research shows that early intervention works well with many pediatric diagnoses including but not limited to ADHD / ADD, ataxia, autism, brachial plexus injuries such as Erb’s palsy, cerebral palsy, developmental coordination disorder, developmental delays, Down syndrome, gait abnormalities, muscular dystrophy, neurological deficiencies, orthopedic conditions, plagiocephaly, preterm labor, scoliosis, sensory processing disorder, torticollis, toe walking, and traumatic brain injuries.

The entry-level title of physical therapists has changed over the years. It started with the bachelor’s degree, went on to the master’s degree and is now the PhD in physical therapy. Now small patients are treated by highly professional people to the highest degree possible.

Did you know that not all pediatricians specialize in child development? Only 15% of pediatricians are such specialists. Plus, it’s easy to miss signs of developmental delays during routine visits. That’s when pediatric physical therapists can help.

The physical therapy evaluation usually begins with observing the child’s appearance, movements, activities, and behaviors. You can then continue with the neurological and orthopedic exam, and continue testing with peer-reviewed assessment tools such as the Peabody Developmental Motor Scales – 2 (PDMS-2). The scores are then carefully calculated and conclusions are drawn as to whether the child requires physical therapy intervention.

To treat children, therapists can use stretching, strengthening, heat treatments, aquatic therapy, and joint mobilization. However, children often do not even realize that they are undergoing “therapy.” They participate in games and activities, so they have a lot of fun while exercising and working to improve their health.

Another important part of pediatric physical therapy is family education with exercise programs at home. The family plays a crucial role in the speedy recovery and progress of therapy. To ensure drag, the exercises should be practiced daily.

It is convenient for a pediatric physical therapist to come to the children’s homes to provide care in the natural environment where children spend most of their time. Pediatric home physical therapy companies are happy to help their little patients. If you or someone you know has a child who may benefit from pediatric physical therapy, do your research and find a pediatric home physical therapy company that provides services in your area.

In addition to monitoring and caring for children’s physical health, pediatric physical therapists always screen children for potential problems in other areas such as speech pathology, occupational problems, as well as delays in learning and behavior. If necessary, they can refer their young patients to other child development specialists. This is how all aspects of child development are covered and children can grow up happy and healthy.

The Fat Man’s Guide to a Good Stretch

A simple truth about most of the fat people … we are as agile as a 2×4. I know that when I did a flexibility test recently I had trouble reaching the test device. Whether our gut gets in the way of a good stretch or our muscles are tighter than an old pair of Jordash jeans, stretching for fat men is not an easy thing to do. Unfortunately, it is something we really need to do more often. So let’s talk about proper stretching.

As I mentioned before, my particular focus lately is running, so a lot of the stretches I’m going to discuss have to do with that. But really any stretching we can do is good for us. Too often I find myself sitting in front of a computer for ten to twelve hours a day, and it shows in my flexibility (and my diameter!). When I started running again, I found myself unable to take a step forward and a major factor was my complete lack of flexibility. By adding a good stretching regimen, I have been able to increase my stride and do a better workout. Also, I feel better the next morning!

So how did I do it? First, we have the natural obstacle of our guts that we have to overcome. The easy answer to that is to stretch horizontally while standing. Don’t try to bend over to stretch. It’s very easy to lose your balance and injure yourself, especially if (when!) You stretch at the end of your workout. And stretching while sitting often runs into the great belly barrier, as I like to call it. So, use a low bench, a large stone, anything you can use to raise your foot to about a 20 degree angle, and then straighten that leg. It prevents your intestine from being compressed and allows it to stretch very well.

As you stretch, take your time! Lower yourself slowly and continue to descend for a 15 count. Then slowly climb back up. Do this two or three times on each leg. Once you are done with the straight leg stretch, work your knees outward. Too often we fat people lock our legs while running and that makes us drag our feet. You want to progress through your calves and quads, knees, hips, lower back, and then upper body. For the hips and lower back, do very slow turns and stay in the farthest position you can reach for a count of five.

Once the lower body is done, move on to the upper body. You may not realize it, but when you run, much of the work is done there and it is an easy place to carry stress. Slowly work your shoulders and neck. Taking the time to do a good slow stretch can prevent injury. Never use jerky movements or bouncing when stretching, as they can cause serious problems. A good stretch should take 8-10 minutes.

Make sure to stretch before and after your workout if possible. If you can’t do a full stretch afterward, be sure to take the time to at least eliminate the sprained legs and shoulders. You will be grateful that you did it the rest of the day. Not stretching after a hard workout can lead to decreased flexibility, and we’re already dealing with that problem as fat people. All in all, stretching is one of the easiest things you can do to improve your overall health and the effectiveness of your workouts.

How to make your next speech unforgettable

To make the effort we put into creating and delivering a speech for everyone worth it, we need to get something out of the presentation. Yes, if you get paid to speak, then you are getting something, but even so, we speakers want more. What we want is for our audience to move into action because of what we have told them. How to make this happen during your next speech is what we all want to know how to do.

The challenge of trying to be remembered

If our audience cannot remember what we have told them despite the importance of public speaking, then whose fault is it, theirs or us? Yes, it may be ours, but your audience won’t help you much. When we use too many slides as part of our presentation, we tend to overwhelm our audience. Several studies have been done on audiences to determine exactly how much of what we told them they remember after they are finished. The results are pretty lousy. Just 48 hours after a speech, the audience was able to remember only about 20% of the slides that were presented.

So what is going on here? Are we really that boring? Fortunately, the answer is no. One of the biggest problems our audiences face is the simple fact that we have selected a common appearance for the material we present to them. What this usually does is end up making everything we present you look the same. When the presentation is over, they will have a hard time distinguishing between anything that has been presented to them.

Finally, sitting in a dark room listening to a person speaking to you from the stage makes it difficult for anyone to remember what was said. This is not an environment conducive to memory retention. If we are not careful, what will happen is that our audience members will be distracted by other things and we will lose them and will not be able to remember what we have said to them.

How to help your audience remember your message

The good news about this auditory memory retention problem we face is that there are solutions. First of all, we have a responsibility to keep shaking our audience. The only thing we don’t want to do is present you with too much of the same look for our material. We have to give them the unusual: our material has to be different from what they expected. This means varying the graphics, colors, font sizes, etc.

Next, we must take steps to involve our audience in our presentation. If we only present slide after slide of material that we develop ourselves, then our audience goes to sleep because they are not involved. However, if we take a different approach and leave some material out and force our audience to fill in the blanks, then suddenly they have made a contribution. Studies have shown that when you engage your audience in this way, their retention of what you said increases.

Finally, we must understand that the way we remember things is not just about what we hear or see. Instead, a large part has to do with how we feel during the presentation. This means that you will have to consider how your material will make your audience feel. The more emotional response you can get from them, the more likely they will remember what you told them.

What does all this mean to you?

It’s not easy to put together a speech, practice it, and then deliver it in front of a live audience. However, as long as we are going to make all this effort, we want to be able to achieve a measurable result; we want our audience to move into action to do something. However, all too often this does not happen. What should a speaker do?

There are several different reasons why our speech might not make our audience understand the benefits of public speaking and then want to stand up and go out and change the world. Chief among these is our audience’s inability to remember what we said, even just 48 hours after our speech ends. What we have to do is take steps to make our speeches more memorable. The first thing we can do is introduce the unusual into our material: the unusual is remembered. Also, getting your audience engaged by filling in missing information can increase your retention. Lastly, how your audience feels during your speech can have a big impact on how much they remember. Build your speech to elicit the greatest emotional response possible.

As speakers, we are in the unique position that our speeches can change the world. However, they are not going to do that if our audience cannot remember what we have told them. For your next presentation, switch things up a bit and make sure what you’re presenting is so bold and so unique that even days after you finish your speech, your audience will still remember and be talking about it.

Todd Is God – The Music of Todd Rundgren

Todd Rundgren is one of the most influential and innovative pop musicians of my generation. [Baby Boomer, if you’re wondering]. Unlike the Eric Clapton deification, which, legend has it, was advertised on the London Underground wall, “Todd is God” seems to have been coined at the same time by those of us who have been deeply moved by his music. Has written hit songs [Hello It’s Me, I Saw The Light, Can We Still Be Friends] and produced hit albums for other artists [Meatloaf’s Bat out of Hell, Grand Funk’s We’re An American Band]And yet he has managed to fly under the radar of mainstream pop music and, not coincidentally, maintained his artistic integrity.

Todd is God the lyricist: there are dozens of elegant and profound lyrics by Todd Rundgren, from the spiritual [Love Is The Answer, Can’t Stop Running, All The Children Sing] to those who speak of social conscience [Bread, Unloved Children, Bag Lady], of the sublime [Hurting For You, Couldn’t I Just Tell You] ridiculous [Onomatopoeia, Piss Aaron].

Todd is God the Songwriter – Todd’s gift for melody, particularly in his ballads, is noteworthy. Songs like Lucky Guy and Can We Still Be Friends have melodies that are reminiscent of the best of the Great American Songbook, i.e. Gershwin, Cole Porter, etc. And although the chord progressions of these 2 songs are basically diatonic [staying within the confines of one key, like most pop/rock], Todd was an innovator in changing the color of his harmonies by replacing the chord roots with alternate scale tones on the bass. For example, the triad built on the fifth note of a scale [G major triad in the key of C] with an F on the bass.

Todd is God the Comedian – Humor is an essential element in Todd Rundgren’s music. There are lyrics that are silly [Bang On the Drum] and sarcastic [Eastern Intrigue]. And of course the Chorus of Puta [“S-L-U-T, she may be a slut, but she looks good to me”]. There’s the wonderfully cheesy, Gilbert and Sullivan-style musical arrangement of Onomatopoeia, packed with sound effects for each onomatopoeia mentioned in the lyrics.

Todd is God the musician: a world-class guitarist [an excellent blues-rock soloist]. Todd is also a great pianist and alto saxophonist, and played drums and bass on the albums Hermit of Mink Hollow and Something / Anything. He is also an accomplished arranger and singer of vocal harmony and background, and an r & b style lead singer with a sweet falsetto register.

Can we consider Todd Rundgren the God of American pop music? Perhaps, as in Greek mythology, Todd Rundgren is one of several gods [Brian Wilson, Randy Newman and Walter Becker/Donald Fagan come to mind]. But the importance and influence of his music cannot be denied.
