10 must-have Israeli beauty products

Many visitors to Israel enjoy the rays of the Mediterranean sun that beats down mercilessly in the summer months and only allows a brief period of winter before returning in full force. Native Israelis also tend to love sunlight, but over time they have become increasingly aware of the havoc the sun can wreak on the skin. As a result, Israeli companies spend a lot of time researching ways to protect their skin from sun damage, and their products have gained international recognition for their effectiveness.

The most famous of all Israeli cosmetics is undoubtedly the AHAVA line which is created from minerals from the Dead Sea. AHAVA products are sold all over the world and have earned a name for being almost miraculous in their effectiveness. However, beauticians, beauty bloggers and skincare experts can be found from all over the world who bet on different Israeli products.

We have compiled a top 10 list for you:

1. We cannot avoid starting with an Ahava product. Ahava’s “Stress Melt Butter Salt” is simply magical. Without the unpleasant greasy and harsh effect that is so common in body scrubs, the Ahava body scrub is dry and one simply needs to mix a little with water before rubbing it in. The scent is pleasantly calming and the product stays on the skin without feeling heavy. When you’re done scrubbing, it will have turned into a lotion and effectively locks in moisture.

2. If we’re getting lyrical about Ahava already, let’s not forget Ahava Sunscreen Anti-Aging Moisturizer. Simply a phenomenal mineral sunscreen that the skin happily absorbs containing Aloe Vera to soothe sun-exposed skin.

3. Another Dead Sea product worth taking note of is the “Obey Your Body” exfoliating gel. This little beauty can be picked up at any Israeli-run kiosk in shopping malls. The gels act as a great hand and body lotion as well as an exfoliating gel.

4. Another winner is the Gigi face cream, a fabulous cream that penetrates the skin and keeps it supple and moist. Gigi Cosmetic Laboratories is one of the smallest Israeli cosmetics companies; Established in 1957, the products cannot be obtained in pharmacies, but can be found in cosmetic studios and spas.

5. Sea of Life Mineral Butter with Fig Extract is addictive with its rich cream that is packed with mineral water, Dead Sea mud, oils and extracts. Despite the thickness of the cream, it seeps directly into your skin and believe me, your skin will thank you for this treasure.

6. Anyone who has spent the summer in Israel knows what a sorry state their feet end up in at the end of the season. And this is where Anna Lotan’s Pineapple Scrub comes in. Simply the best antidote out there for dry, rough feet that have suffered from a long summer of flip flops and salty seawater! Anna Lotan Bio-Cosmetics Laboratories manufactures professional skin care products for use by skin care professionals and also has a retail product line. The company’s specialization is dry, dehydrated, oily, acne-prone, and sensitive skin types, and it’s definitely worth a look.

7. If you are looking for an organic treatment, check out Sabon’s Organic Hand Creams. They are simply stunning: rich in natural oils and with divine scents, the hand cream is refreshing but will not overpower any fragrance you wear.

8. We can’t help but include another one of Sabon’s offerings: Lemon Loofah soap artfully contains chunks of real loofah (!) And provides a gentle exfoliation without stripping moisture from the skin. Sabon’s products are made with ingredients from the Dead Sea using a secret recipe from Australia.

9. Yarok Haircare was created by Alvow who wanted to produce plant-based restorative hair care products. The products are not actually made in Israel, but are made by an Israeli who makes full use of his Israeli knowledge of nature to create products based on nutrient-rich oils. Yarok’s Green with Envy Shampoo and Conditioner is superbly aromatic and absolutely no trace of impurities are left on the hair, as is all too often the case with other unnatural hair care products.

10. We’ll finish up with another Ahava product (what can we do? Their products are fabulous!). The Ahava Hydrating Mask is simply one of the best treatment masks on the market, intensely nourishing the skin, improving elasticity and enhancing the natural texture of the skin.

Pets

Do not do this to your cat, it could annoy him

What makes cats unhappy?

Cats are among the most popular pets in the world. This is because they are adorable, playful, funny and curious, and they require little maintenance compared to dogs and other animals. However, they are very peculiar and each feline has a list of things that he likes and does not like. Here are 6 of the things they generally hate.

Car rides

Cats, like humans, have habits. They have their own territory and routines, plus they really hate when change happens. Also, the idea of a moving vehicle confuses them and makes them unhappy. However, there is a good reason cats don’t like cars. They have the tendency to experience dizziness and vomiting due to anxiety.

Spa

There is an old story about cats who hate getting wet. First of all, unlike humans and dogs, cats do not need to be bathed as they are good at grooming themselves. However, there are some breeds, like big cats, that love wet things. Generally, a normal house cat will do its best to avoid water.

Tummy massages

One of the areas that differentiate cats from dogs is the former’s hatred of having their belly rubbed. Cats have a very strong instinct and the most vulnerable part of their body is their stomach. When a person strokes a cat’s belly, this elicits a defensive response, as if the cat could attack your hand using all four of its paws, with its claws out. The cat’s reaction is a reflex that arises naturally, so it is best to avoid touching the belly.

Loud noise

When a cat hears a loud noise, it thinks danger is approaching, so this will elicit a fighting response. Cats often run away when they feel commotion, such as fireworks, car honking, and loud parties. Sometimes a cat can be startled by just a sneeze.

Brushed

Brushes are acceptable for cats that have been trained to tolerate them when they were still young. Otherwise, a cat will fight and try to run away when someone approaches it with a brush. Cats can be very fickle and will let people know if they like to be brushed or not.

Aggressive caresses

Cats may want to show that they are badass predators, but deep down they are really soft and cuddly. When people pet your cat too aggressively, it becomes annoyed and may even crush it with its paws or claws. Also, this will overstimulate your feline pet and trigger his fighting response.

Too much attention

Dogs always like to get the attention of their owners, but on the other hand, cats like minimal attention. Cats cannot bear to be followed, held all the time, or forced to endure constant petting. When cats want their owner’s attention, they continually meow and rub their leg. You do not need to force this.

Real Estate

Home security for tenants

Estimates indicate that nearly 40 million households in the United States actually occupied rental units or rental homes. At one time, the tenants were mainly made up of young single men; however, that is no longer the case. More than 50% of the tenants today include families with children.

While home security systems are often targeted at homeowners, it’s important to note that rental homes are just as much of a target for burglars and criminals as owner-occupied homes. In fact, a rental unit can be an even bigger target due to the fact that tenants are perceived to be less likely to take action regarding safety.

Even if you don’t own the house or apartment you live in, protecting your loved ones and possessions is sure to be important to you. In most cases, the management of an apartment building will take care of the security of the grounds; however, the security of each unit generally has something to be desired. While property management often provides a gated entrance and lighting, and may even hire a private security company to patrol the grounds, it does not provide individual security for each apartment unit. In that case, it is up to the tenant to ensure that their belongings and loved ones are kept safe.

Fortunately, there are many steps you can take, even if you are a tenant, to improve the security of the apartment or house in which you reside. The first step is to make sure that all doors and windows are kept closed. Make sure the locks that are in place are effective. If not, talk to management about how to cover the cost of installing new locks.

A tenant can also use a home security system to ensure safety. In the past, it was quite difficult for tenants to take advantage of a home security system due to the fact that a lease might be required which would make it difficult if the tenant needed to move out while the lease was in effect. A home security camera; however, it can give the tenant the added peace of mind and security they want. This type of camera can be easily installed to view a front entrance or walkway. In many cases, it can deter would-be thieves. Also, in the case of a crime, you can provide an indisputable record of the event to facilitate law enforcement later on. Renters can even take advantage of the smaller cameras that can be easily placed in balcony or porch areas. These cameras can also be placed inside the house or apartment. Wireless security cameras make camera movement much easier; which can be helpful in case the tenant moves in at a later date. Establishing a monitored home security system also aids in emergency response time.

While you should always check with management regarding their policies on installing a home security system, many homeowners and property managers are quite open to the idea due to the fact that it benefits both themselves and the tenant. .

Four different Baltimore professional football teams have won championships

Winning the championship is the main objective of any soccer team, or of any sports team. There is only one reason to go out and play and that is to win the championship. A championship season is not only rewarding for the players fighting on the field, but also for the fans who cheer for them. Cities and regions should be very proud of their championship winning teams.

Baltimore is a great soccer city and professional soccer has been around there in one form or another for over 60 years. Many people don’t know, but four different professional soccer teams have won championships while representing the city of Baltimore.

The Baltimore Ravens – 2000

The last Baltimore team to win a league title in professional soccer was the team that currently represents the city in the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens began as a franchise in 1996, having been active like the Cleveland Browns the year before. They had some tough years, but in 2000 it all came together behind a strong running game and an out-of-this-world defense. They ended up defeating the New York Giants 34-7 in Super Bowl XXXV.

The Baltimore Colts – 1958, 1959 and 1970

The Baltimore Colts won championships three times. In 1958, they defeated the New York Giants for the NFL title in what many would call the best game ever played. After trailing for most of the 1959 title game, the Colts would eventually score 24 unanswered points and defeat the Giants in a rematch of the previous year’s championship game 31-16. The Colts won their third league title in 1970 when they beat the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl V 27-17. Technically, the Colts have a fourth title as they were NFL champions in 1968, but lost Super Bowl III to the New York Jets of the American Football League before the two leagues merged.

The Baltimore Stars – 1985

The Stars franchise had played the first two seasons of its time in the USFL in the city of Philadelphia. The team was transferred to Baltimore in 1985 and, although they were not as successful as in the past, they were able to reach the playoffs. However, the magic was still there and they marched through the postseason and would win the last championship game in USFL history by defeating the Oakland Invaders.

The Baltimore Stallions – 1995

The Canadian Football League expanded to the United States in the mid-1990s, and one of the cities that landed a team was Baltimore. In 1995, their second season, the Baltimore Stallions not only won their division, but became the first US-based team to win the Gray Cup as Canadian Football League champions. The team left the following year when they moved to Montreal and were renamed Allouettes.

Nintendo Switch First Look – Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order

It’s been a while since I’ve played a multiplayer co-op game. That was in the year 2000, playing a Fighting Force game on PlayStation One.

Well, unfortunately this article is not about PlayStation One games. Instead, let’s take a look at the next Nintendo Switch game; Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.

My first perspective on this game is that it is equipped with cartoon animation about Marvel characters, be it a superhero or a supervillain, in their battle environments.

Four points in my first perspective

Cooperative multiplayer mode

The game is designed with up to four players to cooperate with a single objective. As in other cooperative fighting games, your pace of work and your ability to work as a team will be assessed, using skills that add value to the overall goal. For example, a crazy character type like Wolverine is better suited to taking on a strong supervillain like Juggernaut.

The best part of the multiplayer co-op mode is that it adds fun during those intense battles with those formidable bosses. Engaging with friends or online players in your upcoming battle strategies, weapon selections, and superhero selections adds a more competitive atmosphere during pre-game battles.

Marvel Characters

The game offers 26 characters excluding the unlockables. The 26 characters have different fighting styles and abilities for you to explore. My personal favorites, Spider-Man and Wolverine, are also available to select from in the game.

The most famous supervillains are also available to meet Thanos, Magneto, Wilson Fisk like Kingpin, Electro, Dr Octopus and many more.

Level up

The beauty of this game is that you will have the opportunity to develop your superhero. Quests and side quests allow you to earn coins to upgrade your hero’s skill and perhaps weapons as well.

Story

The story of the game is based on the X-Men environment, especially in Xavier’s academy. Super villains, in particular Thanos and Magneto, will be a part of the story, which adds a bit of movie atmosphere throughout the game.

Verdict

As a Marvel fan I would definitely buy this game as I have the opportunity to explore Marvel characters. So that can add better replayability value to the game.

However, the game can be repetitive when fighting enemies. It really depends on how the Marvel Alliance series develops the AI (Artificial Intelligence) in each battle that strikes a balance between the fun factor and the challenge factor.

Business

Personal financial planning: insurance

Insurance is the most common risk transfer technique in risk management.

There are 3 layers of insurance protection.

First, the social layer, provided by national schemes. For Singapore, it will be the CPF insurance like DPS, HPS, Medishield, Eldershild, CPF Life. These are generally the most basic requirements and the premiums are the most affordable. Second, the group layer. This is coverage provided by employers, unions, or associations. Its premiums are also relatively affordable. However, they will no longer cover when they leave the organization and there is usually an age limit, resulting in a drop in coverage when it is most needed. Third, the individual layer. This is purchased from insurers on a personal level to complement the first two layers. Enhancing coverage in scope and depth.

Insurance classes:

– Life insurance

– Investment related policy (ILP)

– Health insurance

– Personal general insurance

Life insurance

The 3 main types of traditional life insurance are term, life and endowment. The most basic term policy is CPF’s Dependent Protection Scheme (DPS). Premiums are the lowest in Singapore and can be paid by CPF OA. However, the limitation is that the coverage is up to $ 46,000 and the age of 60. Another falling term policy from CPF is the Home Protection Scheme (HPS). A mandatory mortgage insurance for those who use CPF to buy their properties.

Investment related policy (ILP)

ILPs are primarily annual renewable term insurance along with investments in unit trusts and the addition of more fees. They are subject to a different set of resolutions, do not need trustees, and the selection of funds is restricted to those within the insurer’s umbrella of funds. One advantage is that the charges are transparent. However, they are numerous, tedious to calculate, and allow so much variation that it is intended to be confusing. They include:

(1) Initial Sales Charge – This is a one-time charge that is included in the fund’s bid and price margin. Usually around 3-5% of the investment amount.

(2) Fund management fee: paid to the fund manager for the performance of the fund. Typically 0.5-2% per annum and is quoted (deducted) from the unit price.

(3) Charge for benefit: the premium of the insurance coverage, including all passengers, is financed by deduction of units. The premium usually increases depending on the new age bracket.

(4) Policy fees: A fixed monthly fee is charged, regardless of the premium amount, to cover administrative expenses.

(5) Administrative charges: additional charges paid for record keeping, transaction services, banking services, trust services, and miscellaneous charges. Usually between 0.2 and 0.4% per annum and it is also priced.

(6) Fund exchange fees: will be charged when investment funds are exchanged. Usually free for one change per year.

(7) Premium Vacation Charges – Will be charged when Premium Vacation feature is activated.

(8) Surrender charges: charges imposed upon termination of the policy.

(9) Allocation – The amount of premiums used to purchase units is generally not 100% during the initial years. Example: 20% for 1st year; 40% for the 2nd year; 60% for the third year; 80% for the fourth year; before finally 100% from the 5th year onwards.

ILPs will be suitable for those who have sufficient insurance coverage and have a surplus budget that they would like to use to support their agents rather than investing directly in mutual funds.

Healthy Insurance

(1) MediShield and Private Protection Plans

MediShield is the social security that provides the most basic coverage. The downsides are that it has many sub-limits for each of the covered expenses, expires at age 85, and provides coverage primarily for B2 / C classrooms. It is also subject to deductibles and coinsurance. MediSave pays for it. Some employers may provide the second layer of coverage. However, this coverage will end when you leave the employer. Health coverage is most necessary during retirement, as a result, taking a plan will be subject to strict underwriting conditions (i.e. existing medical conditions will not be accepted or excluded). Private protection plans allow coverage after age 85, but must be taken before age 75. There is generally no sub-limits, as it is “charge-based” coverage. Some insurers even cover deductibles and coinsurance if you buy a rider to the basic plan. The website of the Ministry of Health provides a comprehensive comparison of all available private protection plans. The plan is best suited to cover ongoing and medical treatments. With the increase in medical costs, this insurance is more necessary to avoid cost being a problem in seeking proper medical treatment.

(2) Critical illness

Provides a lump sum benefit if the insured is diagnosed with one of the 30 selected diseases or surgical procedures. The 30 diseases are chosen from a list of diseases from the Singapore Life Insurance Association (LIA). All of its definitions have been standardized by the LIA. The 2 types of coverage are accelerated and additional. Acceleration coverage shares the insured sum with the death / TPD benefit. Additional coverage is separate coverage in addition to the basic sum insured, so it may be greater than the basic sum. Variations include issuance as a standalone policy or rider, having an advance payment for early stages of disease, and providing specific coverage for a single disease such as cancer. It is best suited to cover treatment costs that may not be included in HealthShield, such as expensive overseas or alternative / experimental treatments, as well as additional care expenses incurred when critical illness is diagnosed.

(3) Disability income

Provides monthly income in case the insured is unable to work as a result of an accident or illness.

The definition of disability varies in the sense that the inability to work is limited to the insured’s own occupation, similar occupation or any occupation. It is better suited to protect against loss of income to support living expenses in case of disability and differs from TPD in that the definition is less strict.

(4) Hospital cash

Provides a daily cash benefit for each day of hospitalization. It is generally limited to a specific number of days and a lifetime limit. It is best suited for the self-employed who will suffer a loss of income as a result of hospitalization.

(5) ElderShield and private plans

It provides a monthly benefit if the insured is unable to perform 3 of the 6 activities of daily living (ADL), namely, eating, bathing, going to the bathroom, dressing, moving and moving around. ElderShield is the most basic level of coverage and provides $ 300 or $ 400 per month for 60 or 72 months. You can pay with MediSave. Private plans improve on these plans to provide higher benefits and a longer payment duration. You can pay with MediSave up to a limit. It is more suitable to cover the disability of people over 40 years of age. TPD coverage generally ends at age 60/65, but this provides coverage for life. And it is usually limited premium payment.

General personal insurance

(1) Home packaged

Provides coverage for the building and its contents.

It is usually mandatory when a person applies for a home loan.

(2) Valuables

Provides coverage for items of high monetary value such as antiques, fine arts, etc.

It can be a detailed or general coverage.

It is usually for those who keep valuable items in their homes such as art or antique collectors.

(3) Personal accident

Provides coverage for bodily injury caused by unique, direct, independent, external, violent and visible means.

It is best suited for those on a budget or involved in manual labor or unable to obtain any of the traditional insurance due to medical underwriting restrictions.

(4) Motor

It is a compulsory insurance available in 3 types: Third, Third against fire and theft (TPFT) and Comprehensive. Premiums will vary between insurers based on make, model, age of car, age of driver, occupation and experience. Be aware of the applicable excess amount and it is advisable to purchase NCD protection if the NCD has accumulated at 50%.

According to the risk management plan, those low-frequency, high-severity areas should be covered with proper insurance. Since insurance coverage and premiums vary between insurers, it will be wise to get quotes from as many as possible. Insurance is usually a lifetime commitment, it will be prudent to ensure that the most suitable and of the highest value is taken out.

Home Kitchen

Oak shelves can be functional and elegant

Books are precious objects: fictional titles allow you to enter a mysterious world of romance and fairy tale. Fact and reference books impart knowledge. A true book lover will not want to give them away once they have been read. It is very easy to realize that you have managed to gradually accumulate a large collection that will gradually begin to collect dust. Your books deserve to be cared for and kept in a beautiful piece of furniture.

A bookcase can be used in any room in the house, even the bedroom! All you need is a selection of books and possibly other items and a shelf space. Bookcases are usually rectangular in shape with horizontal shelves and vertical sides. But other than that, there is a wide variety of styles and materials.

Inexpensive shelves are made from particle board that has a colored or wood-effect plastic skin attached to it. Another alternative that is almost as cheap is to get MDF (medium density fibreboard) with a thin layer of wood. However, both options will tend to tilt in the middle due to the weight of the load. Particleboard is attached using removable fittings that are not as strong and generally tend to loosen and wobble over time.

A solid oak shelf will be much more rigid and resistant to bending and bowing and will stay in good condition for much longer. The solid nature of wood means that suitable wood joints can be cut to make a safe and well-manufactured piece of furniture.

There are many different types of oak shelving, and you need to choose the right one to suit your living space. Consider whether you need a short or tall shelf. Then think about the width – do you have a gap that it needs to fit into? The next consideration is the stain or finish. Oak shelving can come in a natural, light finish, or a darker, richer shade, so you can tone it up with your existing furnishings and décor.

The last aspect is the actual layout and arrangement of the shelves. Some oak shelves do not have a back and can also be used edge-on the wall as a room divider. Most of them, however, have a solid back. Many shelves are open but it is possible to get bookcases with a drawer or two or even hinged cabinets. This is a good way to hide multiple items that need to be stored out of sight.

The shelves themselves can have different heights. This means that it will be able to accommodate books of various spine heights, from paperbacks to oversized volumes.
