1. Everything is in time

As you flip through an LSAT practice test book, you read the questions and think, “Yes, I could answer that question.” But can you answer more than 20 of them in 20 minutes? 3. One and go

The LSAT sends a complete record of your LSAT scores to the law schools to which you apply. 4. Always be prepared

You may have left the Boy Scouts of America behind a long time ago, but chances are you will never get over your universally applicable mantra. Be sure to bring everything you need to the test center. Print your admission ticket the night before the exam and make sure all the information on the ticket matches what you think; sometimes the testing rooms will change with little or no notice. Do your research and learn the route to the test center so you don’t let the nervousness of the test day throw you off track. Mechanical pencils are not allowed on the LSAT, so bring multiple n pencils. 2 new and a pencil sharpener, as well as several good erasers. It may help to carry a highlighter for detailed reading and an analog (not digital) clock to keep track of time. Spike the wonderful dog

The newspaper ad read: “Yorkshire Terrier / Poodle Mix $ 100”. He knew there would be a special puppy among them. Mommy Yorkie puts us at the door, barking the typical terrier bark. She was taking care of the only puppy left.

The first night, Spike cried and tried mightily to get out of his box. He managed to get out a couple of times, to my surprise. The dog leapt into the air, a feat he perfected over the years. This human mom had to hug him so everyone could sleep.

The next day, he came back to life. Spike the Wonder Dog must have decided to enjoy life. He jumped onto the windowsill to bark at the neighbors. They thought it was funny that our tiny pup was playing watchdog. He didn’t have the typical bark of a terrier, not even the bark of a puppy. He already sounded like a mature male dog guarding his domain.

Spike ran into the bedroom and jumped onto the bed barking at passersby. He ran into the next room and jumped on my son’s bed to keep barking and following people passing by. What a smart 8 week old puppy this guy was!

Throughout his short life, Spike frequently surprised us. His barking would have scared off any potential thief. Teeth marks decorated our vacuum where Spike struggled with it every time one of his humans tried to tidy up. He instructed Daddy Guard Duck, and allowed the duck the privilege of watching alongside him when garbage collectors or UPS delivery men dared to enter our driveway.

But Spike had a softer side. Every day as I sat on the front porch to greet the day and read God’s word and have my first cup of coffee, Spike sat with me. The squirrels and birds learned that Spike would ignore them during coffee time. The birds swooped down for food, almost taunting Spike, but he stayed at my feet. The squirrels bravely sat on our porch railing eating peanuts. But once coffee time was over, Spike chased those same birds and squirrels.

My tough guy fell madly in love with a beautiful princess. Pebbles was a Shih Tzu and the resulting puppies from that love story were the cutest fur packs. We could have easily sold 25 or 30 of them.

We had two puppies and after they were weaned, Daddy Spike taught them to run and roll around the yard. They were never this quick or agile, and he almost smiled when they lay exhausted in a heap after a good workout. He taught his cubs to jump in the air and they escaped. They loved running in the orange grove behind our property.

One day when we asked Spike to look for his puppies, he did not return with them. Later he stumbled across our garden and died from a snake bite. We believe that he found his cubs trapped by a snake and ordered them to return home while trying to fight that snake.

Spud Webb – 5 Ft 7 In NBA Slam Dunk Champion (Circa 1986)

Something really very memorable and something shocking happened at the 1986 NBA All Star Games Slam Dunk contest when a relatively short 5’7 “NBA player dominated all the other contestants with his high-flying dunks that they won the hearts of everyone there. Spud Webb was the smallest among the contestants who were over 6 feet tall, but all agreed that his dunk was the highlight of the competition and therefore , was awarded the first prize.

The contest got more interesting because Spud Webb was up against his Atlanta Hawks teammate Dominique Wilkins at the time. Wilkins was the winner of the dunk contest the year before, so he was the man to beat. The air was filled with excitement as Wilkins, aka Human Highlight Film, took on the short Webb.

But sadly, Webb was declared the winner of that night’s tournament. This was considered a great achievement and literally one for the books. Spud Webb set an all-time record for being the smallest NBA star to join and win the contest, beating out some really tremendous dunks.

Although Spud Webb is not well known to the current NBA fan base, videos of nearly every NBA star are available on many online video sharing sites. Humble origins

Spud Webb realized early on that playing basketball was his path to a better life. Born into poverty, he had a great playing career at Wilmer-Hutchins High School, where he averaged 26 points.

During his early college years, he went to Midland College in Texas, where he demonstrated his scoring prowess in a finals game with Miami-Dade North of Florida. He finished that game with 36 points that had his name printed in an issue of Sports Illustrated. After that, he transferred to North Carolina State University.

Webb’s entry into the NBA was without fanfare and initially appeared to have been short-lived. He was selected in the fourth round by the Detroit Pistons, but was later removed from the list by the team. But the Atlanta Hawks saw their potential and invited him to try them. They liked what they saw and signed him for the 1985-1986 season. He played for the Hawks for 6 years until he moved to the Sacramento Kings in the 1991-1992 season. Spud ended his stint with the Kings in 1995 and later moved from one team to another, even once returning to Atlanta. He played his last NBA game as the Orlando Magic in 1998.

Spud Webb’s 10+ year professional basketball career was an astonishing success story of triumph over any physical limitation. He achieved his dreams by jumping higher than his competition that night in 1986 in the NBA Slam Dunk championship.
