VW Camper Models: A Guide for the Confused

Type 2 split screen 1950-1967

This was the first VW caravan adapted from the VW bus (known as the Samba), which in turn was an adaptation of the VW van. You will recognize the rounded VW caravan with the V-molding at the front, the huge VW badge, the split windshield and the big round headlights like the classic VW Camper.

Production of the first generation of ‘split screen’ Transporters, known as the Type 2 (the Beetle was Type 1), began in Wolfsburg for the 1950 model year with a tiny 1100cc air-cooled engine that was developed borrowed from the Volkswagen Beetle. By comparison, today’s Transporter has a choice of four 1.9-liter to 2.5-liter TDI PD diesel engines.

Volkswagen imported the first VW Campervan to the UK in 1955 and a year later, the production of transporters moved to a new factory in Hannover. The motorhomes were developed by Westfalia, a body shop that worked in partnership with VW for many years. There were a large number of furniture setups and other companies produced conversions as well. The split screen caravans had the same air-cooled motors as the panel vans and the same 6-volt electrical components.

Type 2 motorhome with bay window 1967-1980

The taller and larger VW camper had a 12-volt electrical system, a sliding side door, and a larger motor. It still had a round and friendly shape but with better visibility and more space. More than three million were manufactured during 12 years of production. Westfalia continued to carry out conversions, and a large number of other companies in the UK, including Devon, Danbury, Canterbury and Dormobile, also joined the market. There are also VW camper vans that have been converted by small businesses and DIY conversions. At the top were a wide range of pop-ups to give more space: the ones that go straight up, the bellows examples, fixed on the sides (often Dormobiles) plus the front-hinged type (wedges) from Devon. The bay window versions are still in production in Mexico and were produced in Brazil long after VW stopped production.

Type 25 VW – the Vanagon 1980-1991

The third generation Transporter was introduced in 1979. The VW t25 was again larger and offers considerable space. It was known as the Vanagon in the US and is often referred to now as the VW t3. This model is much more angular with a very ’80s shape. In 1982, after 32 years and with a total production of more than five million vehicles, the Transporter switched from air-cooled to water-cooled engines, but still mounted. In the back.

The Volkswagen T4 1991-2003

The fourth generation Transporter was introduced in 1990 and was a major change. It was the first to have the engine at the front to leave a completely flat cargo area. It’s a steep wedge, but it’s still a relatively sleek shape with a great deal of space. Autosleeper, Bilbo, Reimo, Danbury and Westfalia produced motorhome conversions. The Caravelle is the minivan and the California is the Westfalia caravan. The other conversion companies have their own names for their model range.

Q5 2004 to present

The current fifth-generation Transporter made its debut in 2003, and in 2007 rock legends The Who performed live at an official event celebrating 60 years of Volkswagen vans in Hannover, Germany. It attracted 71,000 visitors with an incredible selection of more than 5,000 Transporter vans and motorhomes. Over the sixty-year period, more than 10 million conveyors have been manufactured. VW camper van conversions have been produced for every transporter model, and by a large number of companies. And then there are the small businesses and hobbyist conversions as well. But now you have a good overview, so you should at least ask what questions to ask, when you are shopping or just admiring a VW Camper.

Experiences with a Tyvek Bivy

We thought Tyvek would be great for making our own bivouac bags. It seems like the ideal material: light, resistant, waterproof and breathable. So we decided to do a basic bivouac for the two of us.

We use two sheets of Tyvek to make the equivalent of a top sheet and a bottom sheet. The second step was to place the sheets, one on top of the other. Using Tyvek tape taped around the bottom 3/4 of the two sheets. The net effect was something like a giant Tyvek sleeping bag that would fit our actual sleeping bags. We also used a soldering iron to melt some holes into which we glued grommets. We thought we might want to use some line to tie the end of the bivouac.

Our first night was in the snow at about 5 ° F. It was very quiet, but very cold. I kept my head at the open end of the bivouac. It seems obvious to me. I tied the end and could feel some of that really cold air on my face so I slipped into my bag a bit and ended up feeling comfortable all night long. My bag of feathers stayed dry and warm.

My friend seemed to think it would be a good idea to head in and didn’t think it wise to tie up the end of his bivouac. His breath ended up condensing inside the bivouac during the course of the night. In the morning, he said that every time he filmed there was a tiny little shower of ice crystals. It wasn’t that nice.

Because it was freezing, we went down a lot in altitude for the next night with the Tyvek. We ended up camping by car. It just so happens that the second night was windy even though it was much hotter. In the morning we agreed that being on Tyvek was like sleeping inside a bag of chips. It was pretty loud!

On the positive side, a woman from a nearby camp asked us if we were testing equipment for a technical manufacturer. He used to work for Patagonia and said he saw a lot of people trying unusual equipment. Apparently at least we looked cool enough that she thought we weren’t just crazy!

New book offers practical advice on setting peaceful boundaries

Dave Jetson’s new book Setting True Bo limits is the kind of book everyone can benefit from. Life can be very complicated when we let other people run our lives for us, when we don’t learn to say no, when we spend our time worrying about the feelings of others or seeking to satisfy their desires, and when we spend all of our time on their own. needs or letting them mistreat and take advantage of us. Unfortunately, most of us learn the hard way that having no limits results in a messy and usually not very happy life.

Jetson begins this book by using an example of a basketball game that has no rules or limits. The result is chaos for everyone involved. Even fans have to move to the highest stands for safety. Without limits (the rules of the game), a game of basketball is really impossible.

The same is true of our lives. Without limits, nobody is happy. Even teenagers will tell you, as Jetson points out, that they want their parents to set limits so that it is clear what is expected of them and that they feel safe knowing what the rules are.

However, setting limits is not easy. Jetson knows that many people fear setting limits because they don’t want to upset other people. However, while setting limits creates some initial discomfort, it benefits everyone involved in the long run.

Jetson first explains what the true limits are. They have three components: limits, consequences, and consistent enforcement and monitoring. It provides numerous examples to explain these components, dedicating a chapter to each one. We see how boundary setting improves marriages, improves parent-child relationships, and even helps the workplace run smoothly.

Jetson also explains what limits are not. Too often, people try to set limits but fail because they don’t understand the three components of limit setting. They mistake a threat or an ultimatum for a limit, or just set a limit without providing a consequence or following through. For example, a parent can set a limit by telling a child that if they forget to bring their homework to school again, they will have to get a zero instead of the parent bringing it to school. However, if the parent brings homework to school the next time the child forgets it, the child will not learn to respect boundaries.

Jetson explains that people often overreact when setting limits, and they do so to punish rather than create a limit that everyone can benefit from. We have to show respect to the person with whom we are setting the boundary. We cannot control someone with a limit, but we can give that person a choice. As Jetson explains, “When you create true limits, you are not controlling others or their behavior. You are allowing them to choose the positive or negative consequence for the behavior they choose to act on.”

It’s also important to be emotionally neutral when setting limits. Jetson says this emotional neutrality is often called “loving detachment.” For example, when someone violates a limit, the one who sets the limit chooses not to take the action personally and does not comply with the consequences in a punitive way depending on his emotional state. For example, if reacting from an emotional state, a parent can send the following message to a child: “If I’m in a bad mood, I might punish you; if I’m in a good mood, I might not.” Instead, if a limit is set correctly, then the consequences have been specified and can be carried out without emotion. As Jetson says, “The one who sets the limits may feel some sadness or pain if the other person does not respect a limit and yet the deep emotions are not triggered or increased.

In addition to showing us how to set actual limits, Jetson looks at why we’ve had trouble setting limits in the past. Talk about topics ranging from fear to manipulation to codependency. Codependency is ultimately the underlying problem in all boundary-setting problems. Jetson describes codependency as “a false belief that we should put other people’s emotions, needs and desires before our own. We have some resentment about this, and we continue to act as if our own feelings and needs are secondary because we have been taught that we don’t matter. ” In addition, he clarifies: “Believing that we have to live life in such a way that we do not disturb anyone is actually another way of describing codependency.” By learning to set true limits, we can begin to break the cycle of codependency that often afflicts our families.

Parents will especially appreciate the examples Jetson includes of how children can learn to set limits with other adults and with other children, including their siblings. The example you offer of a student being bullied by a teacher is one that teaches true respect for the people involved in the situation and will show children how to be assertive rather than being bullied by others.

Each chapter of Setting True Limits ends with exercise questions to help readers examine their own relationships where limits may need to be set, and then practice what they have learned by setting those limits.

Setting true limits is a phenomenal guide to creating better relationships with everyone in your life. I know this because I have used many of the techniques in this book myself as a codependent in recovery. My life is calmer, happier, more productive, and more relaxing as a result of setting limits; therefore, I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is time for you to enjoy a peaceful life and also meaningful relationships.

Tupac alive?

Still wondering if Tupac Shakur is still alive? If you are like so many other fans, you have come to the right place. In this article you will find some of the most shocking theories that have plagued 2pac’s death since 1996. I have gathered a great deal of information that has been on the internet and compiled it in this article. I did this so that you could finally answer the question for yourself and find out if, in fact, 2pac is still alive.

After 2pac was released from prison in early 1996, he went to work with Death Row Records. As soon as he got off the plane, he was in the studio making his debut album “All Eyez on Me”. The album went diamond and is one of the best-selling hip hop albums of all time. This was a very impressive achievement and if you listened to this album you would notice some very interesting things.

Let’s start with song 13 from the first album titled “I ain’t Mad at Cha”. In the music video for this song, you’ll notice that 2pac is actually rapping about his own funeral and even shows 2pac as an angel in heaven. This is quite strange considering that the video was released only a few days after he was pronounced dead on Friday, September 13, 1996. Yes, you read it correctly on Friday the 13th, as if this day did not have any conspiracy in itself.

Moving on to the CD, if you notice song number 12 on disc 2, there is a song titled “Ain’t Hard 2 Find”. In this song, 2pac says the following: “I heard rumors that I died, murdered in cold blood, traumatized pictures of me in my final states, you know that mom cried, but that was fiction, a coward made the story go wrong.” Perhaps he was predicting the future? The album was released on February 13, 1996 exactly 7 months before he was shot.

The 7 months are quite interesting too because if you look at the first album released by Makaveli aka 2pac after his death, the title is “The Don Killuminati The 7 Day Theory”. Tupac had changed his name to Makaveli similar to the 16th century philosopher Machiavelli who faked his own death. Machiavelli had written a few books, but the most famous were “The Prince” and “The Art of War.” “The Prince” is a book on how to fake death. The second book, “The Art of War,” has the same title as the Bone Thugs N Harmony double-disc CD. On this album, 2pac makes a guest appearance on one of their songs titled “Thug Luv”. An interesting point about this album is that it wasn’t released until 1998.

Did you know that when 2pac released the album “Better Dayz”, they had released more albums than any other musician alive with seven? The point is, there have been even more since then. There have been “Loyal to the Game”, “Resurrection” and “The Life of Pac” just to name a few.

Could Tupac Shakur have faked his own death? Everyone knows that when Snoop Dogg was convicted of murder charges, his album sales skyrocketed. Maybe this was just a plan to get rich. Take a look at these lyrics to his song “Made Niggaz”, here’s what he says: “Fuck everyone who doesn’t understand my plan to get rich. Outlaw to the grave, I have a plan to get rich. Make me one. Photo “.

Tours Travel

Are travel incentives still working?

With more and more people keeping their precious dollars a little tighter these days, how can you convince them to drop some of it and buy your product or service and therefore keep you in business? Vacation incentives are one of the most attractive attraction methods. They can help struggling businesses maintain their customer base, plus get new ones! Businesses that use vacation travel incentives in their promotions have seen a 35% increase in sales! Of course, just about any business can use travel incentives effectively, whether it’s a retail, service, internet, mlm, wholesale, or other business. You see, EVERYONE likes to travel.

Well, almost everyone. A recent USA Today poll says 92% prefer travel to any other award or incentive. Traveling has a special value in their hearts. And to make your business grow and remain successful, you really have to give the public what they want. And most want to travel!

A free vacation could very well simply by convincing your potential customer to buy, or your potential partner to join. And no, it usually doesn’t have to be a luxury 2-week vacation on the French Riviera either. (I wouldn’t mind that one though!) You can just grab some 3-day specials at places like Las Vegas, Niagara Falls, Honolulu, Cancun, Branson, or Atlantic City! Perhaps you can use larger incentives of 8 full days in places like a Caribbean cruise, Virginia Beach, Poconos, Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe. Or maybe exciting international destinations like Wales, Spain or the Canadian Rockies! The latest travel incentives now include golf and spa vacations to St. Thomas, Aruba, Ft. Lauderdale, Nashville, Williamsburg or Anaheim.

About 62% say that travel is more of an incentive than even cash or merchandise. With money, it is often spent on bills, with travel, it is memories that last a lifetime.

Travel incentives routinely outperform any other form of incentive marketing. If more companies were to use travel as an incentive, rather than what they are using now, if at all, they will almost certainly see drastic increases in their sales and commissions.

Businesses can even use vacation incentives to reward and encourage customer loyalty. Or even if they refer another client or associate!

The contract or prepaid terms can also be changed to accommodate travel incentives such as thank you gifts. Imagine having a 3-day trip to see Mickey Mouse if you insure your child with life insurance and pay for the entire year in advance. How attractive!

Newer members of member-only clubs and organizations can even get many exciting travel benefits, like a 3-day or 5-night Bahamas cruise in Las Vegas.

Of course, sometimes the best way to convince someone to buy something is to let them try it first. Why not encourage sales during the trial period by offering a special travel incentive?

So, as you can clearly see, travel and vacation incentives are not used much, but they are always highly appreciated. And they often change the course of their business. Perhaps travel incentives will even help save your business!

Sexy Rock Music – Top Sexy Songs by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails)

Trent Reznor, the mastermind behind the industrial rock group Nine Inch Nails, is no stranger to the realm of the best songs in the sexy rock music genre. And if you asked anyone who’s stuck their head into the rock world for an iota of time, they might respond by saying that NIN’s “Closer” definitely deserves a spot on any top 10 list.

But what about Trent’s other bands / projects? What about How To Destroy Angels, the band he shares with his wife, Mariqueen, and his friend / collaborator Atticus Ross? What about your soundtracks, also co-composed by Ross? Their remixes / covers?

How about we dive into less mapped territory?

Here’s an example of a playlist that uses Trent Reznor’s sexy deep cuts:

1. All Time Low (Nine Inch Nails – Hesitation Marks)

Get the ball rolling with this strong mid-tempo funk song, which sounds a lot like “Closer” (Trent even inserts verses from “Closer” when he performs “All Time Low” live). Between Adrian Belew’s dissonant ’70s guitar, Pino Palladino’s staccato bass lines, and the drugged arpeggiator at the end of the song, this song takes you on a drunken sexual journey. Good way to start.

2. Get Down Make Love (Nine Inch Nails – Sin)

Heighten the angst a bit with Trent’s industrial version of Queen’s deep theme from “News of the World.” Produced by Ministry’s Al Jourgensen, Trent’s distorted voice makes him sound even more desperate and sexually frustrated, the complete opposite of Freddy Mercury’s confidence: “I’m the provider of all things sexual, now do what I say.” Trent’s opinion is more “Do what I tell you ???

3.27 Ghosts III (Nine Inch Nails – Ghosts I-IV)

Keep the distress and noise high. This super deep cut is an instrumental from a series of instrumental EPs called “Ghosts”. These EPs were the main reason David Fincher asked Trent and Atticus to score his films. Fincher would put “Ghosts” songs on the “The Social Network” soundtrack to test the feel of things, trying to hear what the difference would be between a darker score and a more upbeat Elvis Costello rock score.

4. Solo (El-P Remix) (Nine Inch Nails – Every day is exactly the same)

This halftime version of NIN’s hit single “Only” by hip hop artist El-P turns the original disco feel into a super sexually charged mix of sweaty beats / turntable effects. Technically Trent didn’t, specifically, but shut up. It is part of the Halo canon (Halos is the official Nine Inch Nails catalog system). This will totally work in your favor.

5. The loop closes (How to destroy angels – Welcome to oblivion)

An almost instrumental song, this melody unites electronics and exotic instrumentation, solidified by another “Closer” -like rhythm. A great song that uses upward dynamics throughout, starting soft, steadily climbing its way to the loud (and you should be climbing to your own loud) before unleashing its energy and resolving into blippy electronic pianissimo. It’s also great to hear Trent and his wife riffs together on vocals.

6. Reptile (Nine Inch Nails – The Downward Spiral)

A classic NIN song from a classic album, but a deep cut nonetheless. Trent is totally in his element of sexual loss and frustration. It takes things a little darker (which, considering everything on this playlist is dark, is saying something).

7. Closer (Forerunner) (Nine Inch Nails – Closer to God)

I know I said we would stay in more uncharted territory, so why does “Closer” appear? Play. BUT this is a remix made by Coil. If you’ve seen the opening credits for “Se7en” (from the aforementioned David Fincher, no less), then you’ve heard this great version of NIN’s biggest single. It’s dirty, muddy, long, and has a slightly more haunting feel than the original.

8. A familiar taste (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross – The Social Network)

This song is a revised and modified version of a song from the Nine Inch Nails “Ghosts” collection. But I like this version better. In the movie, “The Social Network,” it is played while Mark Zuckerberg is imagining what happens at all the frat parties he would like to attend when young college girls are invited out for a night of drunken sex revelry. This song is a nice warm top for the next track on the list …

9. Container (Nine Inch Nails – Year Zero)

I love this track. This truly rivals “Closer’s” reign of NIN’s sexiest song of all time. This vibrant, throbbing cartilage is ideal for the most violent sexual rompers out there. The noise, the beeps, the rhythm: it’s perfect.

10. Consummation (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross – Gone Girl)

This is dark. The darkest on the list. And it’s the latter for a reason. I won’t say what happens in the movie “Gone Girl”, but this song takes place during its most moving and violent scene. I would use this song to bring the climax when it comes to your playlist. The slow pulse, the rising cacophony (it looks like your speakers are being smashed) all lend themselves to the perfect ending (read: orgasm) to your ten-song Trent Reznor sex festival.

*** 11. Sugar Storm (Reprise) (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross – Gone Girl)

As a bonus, use this song as you go down. It is short but pleasant to listen to. It also has the perfect leading key ending, a big cherry on top of everything you just heard. ***

If you liked this list, check out another example of a sexy rock music playlist I’ve compiled that doesn’t just use Nine Inch Nails to full effect:

But yes, “Closer” might appear near the end.

Real estate investment: books, TV infomercials and seminars

Real estate investing has become popular today due to television real estate investing infomercials and traveling seminar circuits. But real estate investing has not always been so popular.

In the 1960s, William Nickerson wrote: “How I turned $ 1000 into three million in real estate” and “How to make a fortune today from scratch.” It was one of the first real estate investment books to gain national attention. A little later, Al Lowry wrote “How You Can Be Financially Independent By Investing In Real Estate.” Al Lowry could be called “the father of real estate seminars today” because he was the first to hold seminars as a result of the sale of his books.

But it was Mark Haroldsen who took the momentum of the real estate investment seminar / book to the next level. Haroldsen wrote: “How to awaken the financial genius within you.” If you were tuned in to real estate investing at the time, you remember the newspaper and magazine ad that featured an image of Mark soft and bald leaning against the front hood of his Mercedes. The image appeared everywhere in full-page ads from major publications. And when Mark started selling his books, he began conducting real estate investment seminars. I had lunch with Mark and Al Lowry as they exchanged stories about the hype blitz that brought them to national prominence for their prowess in real estate investing. Later, Mark wrote “The Courage to Be Rich” and “Tax Free”.

But it was Robert Allen who capitalized on Lowry and Haroldsen’s previous groundwork. Robert Allen was reportedly paid $ 1 million upfront royalties for his best-selling book, “Nothing Down,” a compilation of 50 techniques for buying property with no money. Robert had learned these techniques from several years of experience in a commercial real estate company. He later wrote “Wealth Creation” and “Introduction to Real Estate Investing.” Robert Allen’s real estate investment seminars turned into a phenomenal marketing bonanza. The conventions were held in major cities in the country, such as Orlando, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, and Atlanta. Authors of various real estate investment techniques spoke at these seminars, but their spiel focused on selling packages of real estate investment materials that they were offering for sale. Millions of dollars in real estate investment materials were sold at these 3-day conventions. The convention frenzy ushered in what has since been known as “The Nothing Real Estate Movement” of the early to mid-1980s.

I keep all of these books in my personal library, and you can probably still find them in your public library and bookstores. There is a lot of great information in these books that can make you very knowledgeable, even if some of the ideas are out of date.

Now we are presented with a variety of ways to make money in real estate by investing in television infomercials, books, and seminars. Which is the best? Who can say? Real estate investing is learned through trial and error. Real estate investing skills and techniques are acquired with practice. I don’t think anyone can dogmatically recommend a technique that is better for someone else. Each real estate investor has unique needs and is in a unique situation. The objectives of real estate investment are different.

However, if you are limited in investing in real estate educational dollars and need to generate a quick return on investment, I think fixing cheap houses is an ideal starting point. Real estate investing in renovated properties generates fast, profitable dollars with low risk.

Pets

Puppy mills, fake rescues, animal thieves, and now flipping dogs! How low can The Sleaze go?

It has been almost a year since I had a very bad experience with the rescue of a local puppy mill. That experience led me to begin researching the various aspects of puppy mills and dog rescues. In this research, I have come across far too many activities that are the work of truly sordid people. Even when I start to question WHY someone would do these things, I realize that I know the answer is about money, more money, and even more money.

Until a few years ago, I had no idea what a puppy mill was or that the adorable puppies in the pet store window probably came from there. When I heard or saw a poster of a “lost dog”, I did not even consider the possibility that someone had stolen the dog and then sold it to an unsuspecting dog lover. I recently discovered that puppy mill owners are beginning to falsely identify themselves as animal rescue groups to attract buyers on social media websites.

Just when I think that squalor cannot go any further, a new “squalor scheme” appears. One of the newest is called “dog turning.” The concept of “flipping” was first applied to the housing market. In good economic times, people can buy a home, make some home improvements, or just let a little time go by and then sell the home for more than they paid for. Ready! Money in your pockets for very little effort.

There is nothing illegal about flipping houses. People are betting that house prices will continue to rise. Turning the dog is similar in concept and is not illegal. However, because it relies on lies to unsuspecting people and involves our faithful pets, it is at best sordid.

Dog fins are individuals or small groups of people who check newspapers and sales websites, such as Craigslist, to find dogs that people have listed as “Free to a good home” or “Small relocation fee required.” . The fins then visit the individual or family announcing the pet. Dog fins will come up with a sad story about their family and / or why this particular dog is so important to them. “Fido looks like the dog he had when he was a kid.” They also have a sad story to explain why they have no money. “I just lost my job, but little Johnny has his heart set on a new puppy.”

The unsuspecting family surrenders their dog to the fin, feeling released from responsibility and at the same time feeling that they have done a good deed for others. The family has no idea what is really going to happen to their pet.

The fin takes the dog to a place where other dogs obtained by the same method are housed. These living conditions can in no way be considered a loving home. The flipper then places the ads in the same places they were initially verified; but this time, the same pet is SOLD for $ 60, $ 100, $ 200 or whatever he / she thinks the dog will bring. The pinball can “earn” several hundred dollars for the dog the family thought they were giving to a family in need.

This scheme first came to light when a young woman found a listing on Craigslist for the same dog she had given away the day before. Is the practice of turning dogs illegal? Is not correct”? This is a much more difficult question to answer. There are those who would answer that business is business. Some people find throwing dogs no different than finding a special purchase at a $ 1 thrift sale and then reselling that item for $ 1000.

As you can infer from my use of the term “sleazy”, I do not share the views mentioned above. I do not consider a pet to be a merchandise to give away when it no longer fits or becomes inconvenient. Just as we make adaptations when our children sometimes cause problems, we can and should do the same with our pets. Our pets expect us to take care of all their needs throughout their lives. Owning a pet should be seen as a commitment to do exactly that.

I realize that sometimes bad things happen and cannot be avoided. The Sheltie I just adopted came to me as a result of such a situation. I also know, however, that we can totally eliminate the movement of dogs handing over our pet to a No Kill shelter or rescue instead of advertising our faithful family member as “Free for a good home.”

Make your bonsai tree look older

Among bonsai enthusiasts, the age of the bonsai is very important. It does not have to be the actual age, but the age of the tree. Since bonsai trees live for hundreds of years or more, it is impossible to grow one to that age. So that means making your bonsai tree look older than it actually is is an important part of the art of growing a bonsai tree. With proper care and handling, you can make your five-year-old bonsai tree look more like a five-hundred-year-old bonsai tree. If you can pull this off, you are doing well with your bonsai tree growing hobby.

Certain features of your tree will make it appear older than it actually is. Tight foliage, open branches with angular curves, bark fractures, and a domed crown will make your bonsai tree appear older. If you start with a bonsai tree that already has some of these characteristics, you will have less work to do in the long run. Yamadori bonsai are a popular choice for these characteristics. However, these trees have their drawbacks. If you start with a Yamadori, you will have to do some great carving and heavy cutting to hide the removal of other branches. You should know that this is not an easy task. If you do something wrong, you can never correct your mistakes. If you are a beginner, you may not want to try this. Fortunately, if you can’t do this, there are things you can do to advance the age of your bonsai. These things will take longer to take effect than others.

Shaping your bonsai crown will take time, but it is imperative if you are trying to make your tree appear older. If you’ve ever looked at a tree that is hundreds of years old, you’ve probably noticed that it has a domed crown. Building a proper wreath will require that the apex of your bonsai be built in the same way as any other branch. The apex supporting lameness should come from below and not from the side. The balance of the branches of your bonsai should be taken into account when you know everything about the species of your tree. The arched branches will not necessarily convey an impression of old age. The bark of the tree will be what speaks the most about the maturity of your tree. There are some species of bonsai that will retain a smooth bark texture throughout their lives, but for the most part, a rough bark texture is necessary if you want your tree to appear aged.
