As a high school student growing up in rural Indiana, Jay played soccer at Heritage Hills High School in Lincoln City, Indiana. Both Lincoln City and Santa Claus are located in southern Indiana. The town of Lincoln is a five-mile drive east on Christmas Blvd when coming from Santa Claus, Indiana and is where Santa’s children had to go to the nearest high school.

From an early age, Jay Cutler showed a lot of promise by throwing the ball. As a teenager playing for the Heritage Hills Patriots in Lincoln City, Indiana Jay led his high school football team to a perfect 15-0 record en route to a state championship victory during his senior season. In fact, over the course of his last two seasons in high school football, the high school star led his team to an impressive 26-1 record as a starting quarterback.

Those numbers equate to the Heritage Hills High School team Cutler played to score nearly 50 points per game, while rival offenses scored less than 6 points per contest. Those uneven averages were heavily influenced by a 90-0 victory over the Pike Central Chargers of nearby Pike County, Indiana.

To illustrate this point, the Pike Central team that Cutler-led team so famous for a final score of 90-0 has a total school population of just 672 students. Often times, soccer players with Cutler’s ability take on neighborhood schools three or even four times the size of Pike Central’s student population.
