WordPress blogging tips to help you get started

If you want to start a blog, WordPress is probably the easiest and most user-friendly application you can use. There are even easier options, like using a free online blogging service like Blogger.com, but you don’t really have much control over your own site.

With WordPress, you get the best of both worlds: an easy-to-understand platform and unlimited features that allow you to grow your blog and add bells and whistles as you learn.

WordPress.org vs. WordPress.com

First, I should point out that there are two WordPresses. They’re run by the same company, but WordPress.com is a service that hosts your blog for you, just like Blogger, Tumblr, and other third-party sites. These are often called Web 2.0 sites. There is nothing wrong with creating your blog in this way, but it does limit you in some way.

When you use WordPress.com or any Web 2.0 site, you do not own the blog. You are simply renting space on it. This means that the host can delete your blog at any time. This happens if you are deemed to have violated any TOS (terms of service). It’s surprisingly easy to do this, even without meaning to.

For example, WordPress.com does not allow you to market your blog in any way. So if you want to start a business or even make a few extra bucks each month, this is not the way to go.

Another reason why WordPress.com and other sites like it aren’t ideal is that you’ll have a harder time with SEO and traffic generation than if you owned the blog. This is because most of the “link juice” generated by your article will go to the host rather than to your specific site.

That’s why WordPress.org is what I’m going to focus on here. This is when you buy a domain, get hosting, and start your own blog.

Choosing a domain and web server

Your domain is your URL, the address of your website or blog. If you haven’t chosen one yet, you’ll need to do this first. If you don’t have web hosting either, you’ll need this as well. You can combine them if you want. Many web hosting companies offer you a free domain when you sign up for hosting.

When choosing a web hosting company, it is good to choose one that has a lot of experience with WordPress. If you really want to be sure of this, you can go with WP Engine, a company that specializes in WordPress. However, they are a bit more expensive than most web hosts.

If you want to save money, you can still find a good web host that supports your WordPress site. Bluehost, for example, is highly recommended for this. They are even recommended by WordPress itself.

One suggestion I’ll make here is that regardless of which web host you choose, try to pick a plan that gives you unlimited domains/websites. Sometimes a host will offer several different plans. The price difference is usually a few dollars a month.

The point is that creating WordPress blogs can be addictive! You probably won’t want to stop with one. So you can also have a hosting plan that allows you to create as many as you want.

When choosing a domain, try to keep it short and simple. If you want your blog to rank well in search engines, choose some good keywords in the title. These are words that people will actually search for when searching for information.

If your domain is something like Bobsblog.com or Marysblog.com, it will have a custom name but not one that is likely to help you with SEO (search engine optimization). This is of particular importance if you intend to sell something. If you just want a blog to share with your friends, family, co-workers, etc. then it is not important.

How to install WordPress

Installing WordPress is quite easy with most major web hosting companies. Typically, you use a scripted installer like Fantastico or Softaculous (your web host probably has one of these – look in your control panel). You can then install WordPress in a few clicks.

I don’t want to waste too much space here describing the steps to install WordPress, because you can find it from your web hosting company. There are also numerous articles and videos on this topic.

What should I blog about?

This doesn’t seem to be a problem, but many people experience “blogger block” after writing a post or two. I assume you have already chosen your topic. After all, if you can’t even think of a topic, it’s not a good time to start a blog yet!

But even when you have a topic that interests you, it can be challenging to think of actual posts to write about. For this, you may need to do some research to get inspired. Here are some ideas.

  • Set Google Alerts -You can receive emails from Google that will send news to your inbox based on some keywords you choose.
  • Amazon -Check out which books are popular. Also check out their magazine section!
  • other blogs -Check Google blogs and see what others in your niche are writing about. You don’t want to copy them, but you may get ideas that you can put your own spin on.
  • Offline books and magazines -Go to the library, bookstore and magazine section of Barnes & Noble (or wherever they sell magazines). Read newspapers. All of these are excellent sources of ideas.
  • Constancy is the key to success

If you have a blog, you have to write blog posts! This really is the most important “secret” to having a successful blog, believe it or not. You hear a lot these days about “quality content”, which is of course important.

If you’re populating your blog with auto-generated or threaded content (if you don’t know what that is, don’t worry, you’re better off!) you won’t get very far. Search engines are quick to recognize this as low-quality content. However, you have to generate posts regularly.

Forgetting search engines for a moment, when a visitor sees that a blog hasn’t been updated in months, they’re likely to conclude that it’s not very active or relevant. You probably do the same thing when you search for new sites online.

Search engines also love blogs that are frequently updated. It also gives you more content to get indexed. Let’s say a few words about SEO, as long as we’re on that topic.

The vast universe of WordPress plugins

Once you get familiar with WordPress, you may want to start looking at more advanced features. This often means adding plugins. These are tools that you upload to your WordPress site to perform a variety of functions.

Plugins can be used for security, SEO, to create forums or membership sites, to place contact forms on your site, and hundreds of other things. Plugins give you the ability to perform many tasks that would otherwise require advanced coding knowledge.

There are so many plugins for WordPress that it would be impossible to keep up with all of them. At first, you may think that you don’t need any plugins, and this is true. However, they are so easy to use that you might as well get your feet wet and install some basics.

You can access plugin settings from your WordPress dashboard.

  • Akismet -This antispam plugin is already included when you install WordPress, but you must obtain an API key to activate it. There are instructions on how to do this.
  • Google XML Sitemaps -This makes it easier for Google and other search engines to index your posts and pages.
  • Total cache W3 -This is a great plugin to help your site load faster and run more efficiently. It does this by caching posts, pages, databases, scripts, and other things that take up space.
  • bulletproof security -Helps keep your site safe from attacks. This is important, as hackers often target WordPress sites.
  • WordPress SEO by Yoast -Makes it much easier to optimize your site for search engines.

The above is a very abbreviated list of what you can do with plugins. If you have particular needs or ideas for special features for your blog, chances are there is a plugin that can help you achieve this.

WordPress: the perfect place for your blog to evolve

What makes WordPress so amazing for bloggers is that it can help you at any stage of your blogging career. For rank beginners, it makes it easy to set up a basic blog. Advanced users can play around with all the settings and plugins.

However, WordPress is still just a tool. It’s up to you to create awesome content so people have a reason to visit your blog!

A tour of Cape Town and the southern tip of Africa

Down there, in the southern tip of Africa, lies one of the most beautiful cities on the planet. When the sun shines, it’s awesome. A quaint town framed by the famous Table Mountain, white sand beaches, and the Pacific Ocean. Standing over 1,000 meters high, Table Mountain towers over beautiful colonial buildings. The promenade is decorated with brightly painted facades and the beautiful coastline is framed by high cliffs, making it one of the most magnificent in the world.

Stroll along the V&A waterfront and you can see street performers singing traditional African music over a coffee in one of the many cafes. This exclusive area is full of boutiques, cafes, restaurants, theaters and wine bars. Strolling through the shops makes for a pleasant afternoon and while you’re there take the ferry to Robben Island. Home to the infamous prison where Nelson Mandela was held for most of his 29 years behind bars.

The half-hour boat ride will make you think of what little hope the prisoners must have had when they were taken into solitary confinement. Surrounded by icy shark-infested waters, freedom was in sight, but escape was impossible. The guides are ex-inmates who make the experience that much more exciting as they tell personal stories of their time there. These men are true heroes. It’s amazing to hear what they managed to accomplish behind bars. They planned and schemed and somehow managed to send messages to their followers that eventually ended Apartheid.

You will see Nelson Mandela’s tiny cell in the maximum security wing, the quarry where he carved with crude tools and where secret meetings took place. How anyone was able to survive this way for years is a testament to the strength and determination of these brave men.

After spending time in Cape Town, it’s a good idea to rent a car and drive along the coast. Winding along one of the most scenic drives on the planet, Chapman’s Peak is a delight. Featured in many movies and commercials, its massive cliffs tower overhead as the path weaves its way through the blasted rock. Be prepared though, in South Africa they drive on the left side of the road.

Head to Simon’s Town to see the penguin colony that resides on its beaches. Simon’s Town is a beautiful seaside town where a seafood lunch is a must. The famous penguins sunbathe and splash in the water posing perfectly on large, smooth rocks as dozens of tourists grab their cameras.

After a morning exploring the city and the penguins, drive further south to the Cape of Good Hope. The Indian and Atlantic oceans meet here and collide with each other under the highest sea cliffs on earth. The view is impressive and you can take the tram to the top avoiding a long walk. The boardwalk winds through the grounds and you can explore the old lighthouse and keepers house, and you can gaze out over the ocean with nothing between you and Antarctica but the sea. It’s amazing to be in this truly legendary destination at the end of a vast continent.

If you’re short on time to visit South Africa, Cape Town and the surrounding area have everything you could need. Safaris, diving, world class vineyards, beaches, shopping and spectacular scenery. What else does a person need?

bra cancer

If you suffer from breast pain, cysts or lumps and are afraid of developing breast cancer, you can participate in an International Breast Cancer Prevention Project.

This project has shown a 95 percent success rate in improving breast health. After years of suffering from breast pain and cysts, many participants have found phenomenal improvement within days of starting this program. It’s free, risk-free, and the best thing you can do to prevent breast cancer. It all has to do with the cultural practice of wearing tight bras and the effect this has on the circulation within the breasts.

Why would bras be linked to breast disease and cancer? It has to do with the effect of bras on breast circulation, specifically the effect of bras on the lymphatic system.

The job of the bloodstream is to deliver fresh, oxygenated fluid to the tissues and remove carbon dioxide. The job of the lymphatic system is to remove fluid, called lymph, from the tissue spaces, along with debris, viruses, cancer cells, bacteria, toxins, and other unwanted materials. The lymphatic system consists of microscopic vessels that originate in the tissue space and lead to larger, but still small vessels, which eventually enter a lymph node. These nodules are bean-sized filters lined with white blood cells. Most of the lymph nodes in the breast are in the armpit. If the nodes detect a virus, cancer cell, or other foreign or dangerous substance in the tissue fluid, they begin an immune response by producing white blood cells to combat the problem. Once through the lymph node, the fluid makes its way through the larger lymphatic vessels back to the heart and bloodstream.

An important fact about the lymphatic system is that it is a passive drainage system. While the bloodstream carries fluid under the pumping pressure of the heart, the lymphatic system has no pressure. Its flow is influenced by gravity, breathing, exercise and movement, and massage. And the slightest constriction or compression of the tissue can close off the tiny lymphatic vessels, inhibiting lymphatic flow and causing fluid buildup, cysts, pain and tenderness. This congestion of fluid within the tissue is called lymphedema.

Women who have fibrocystic breast disease essentially have lymphedema of the breast. We discovered that its cause is the deterioration of the lymphatic flow due to the pressure of the bra. Bras are elastic garments that exert constant pressure on the breast tissue. Its purpose is to push the breasts into a more modern shape. However, this pressure can reduce flow within the lymphatic system, reducing its ability to remove fluid and toxins from the breast tissue.

Toxins found within breast tissue include some tissue edema biochemicals, such as free radicals, which are known to cause cancer. In addition, there are also toxins in our air, food, and water, including pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, and other products of our petrochemical-polluted world. Many of these are known to cause cancer. We deliver these toxins to all of our tissues each day through the bloodstream. The job of the lymphatics is to remove these toxins. And it is this work that the bra inhibits by its compression and constriction of the breasts.

This is how bras cause breast cancer. Cancer-causing toxins reach the breast tissue through the bloodstream and are kept there by the bra. The toxins are the bullets. The bra holds them in place, pointing directly at the breasts.

This explains why women have more cancer in the breast than in any other part of the body. The breasts are the most clothing-constrained of any organ. It also explains why women get more breast cancer than men and why breast cancer is only a problem in bra-wearing cultures. Where there are no arms, there is virtually no breast cancer.

We had written about this, and about the results of our 1991-93 Breast Cancer and Bra Study, in our book Dressed To Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and Bras (ISCD Press). Our study was conducted in approximately 4,700 American women, approximately half of whom had breast cancer. We asked these women about their past bra-wearing attitudes and habits. What we found was that women in the cancer group had a history of wearing longer and tighter bras than those in the non-cancer group. In fact, many women in the cancer group slept with their arms up. Almost none were without a bra. This differed greatly from the group without cancer.

When the results were analyzed, they revealed that women who wear bras for more than 12 hours a day have a dramatically increased risk of developing breast cancer compared to women who don’t wear bras. In fact, women without a bra have about the same chance of developing breast cancer as men, and this is more than 100 times less than women who wear a bra 18 to 24 hours a day. When you consider that smoking increases the incidence of lung cancer 20-30 times, this makes the link between breast cancer and bras 4-5 times greater than the link between cigarettes and lung cancer.

Of course, the easiest way for a woman to determine if her own bra is damaging her breasts is to go braless for a while and feel the difference. That’s what the Breast Cancer Prevention Project is all about. You simply have to commit to not wearing a bra for a month. Your body will tell you the results.

For the thousands of women who have tried it, the results are spectacular. Having bound your breasts since puberty, the feeling of breast freedom can sometimes seem strange at first. But in a matter of days, the breasts have a chance to drain engorgement and excess fluid. The cuteness ends. Period pain in the breasts can disappear completely. The cysts disappear. It’s like a miracle.

Interestingly, some women have become so used to wearing a bra that they feel uncomfortable without it. This is because your breasts have become reliant on the bra for support, causing loss of function of the musculature and ligaments that normally support the breasts. In other words, bras cause the breasts to sag and sag. There are many large-breasted women of all ages who have firm, healthy, problem-free breasts because they have never worn a bra.

Breast engorgement from the bra also increases the weight of the breasts, since the breasts are essentially swollen by edema. This can make the breasts feel painful when the bra is removed. Fortunately, once the bra is stopped, the breasts can decongest and regain their tone. Many women reported that their breasts rose within a few months of kicking the bra habit.

So here is your challenge. Find a cotton or silk camisole or tank top you’re comfortable in, ditch the bra, and give your breasts a month without binding. Then let us know your results.

If you need more information, please visit our website http://www.SelfStudyCenter.org. You can also register for this study directly on our website.

The cause of breast cancer must be removed if the breast cancer epidemic is to end. It should have been clear decades ago that breast union could lead to cancer and other breast diseases. However, a culture is never objective about its own weaknesses. And with a cancer industry that makes a lot of money treating breast cancer, and a fashion industry that makes a lot of money selling bras, there is a huge financial incentive for women to keep wearing bras and then treat their breast disease when happen.

Real Estate

Upside Income Potential – Overview of Real Estate Investing in Gold

Real estate investment decisions are made based on investor criteria. Unless the rental property serves some other purpose, perhaps to close a hasty 1031 tax exchange, capitalization rate, internal rate of return, cash-versus-cash return, or some other factor or combination of all factors, tell the real estate investor whether to make the investment or walk away. Real estate investing, after all, is all about the numbers.

However, there is the question of any “upside rental potential” associated with income-producing property that prudent real estate investors should consider before making investment decisions. This is not always the case, however. Surprisingly, there are times when real estate investors pass up good property investment opportunities because they do not adequately consider the potential rental income advantage of a property.

An income property with “upward rent potential” simply means that your rents are lower than what the market will bear and the “potential” to charge higher rents and generate more income is a real possibility. For the real estate investor looking at income property, it means “wait and don’t make any decisions to transfer the property until you have revalued the cash flow based on various other rental scenarios.”

Believe it or not, sellers (or their agents) sometimes, whether through negligence or faulty research, fail to consider the true income potential of the property when setting a price. If so, then any APOD, Proforma, Marketing Package or other income and expense statement presented to you misrepresents, at a minimum, the income and all key rates of return that guide your investment decision. If you don’t question yourself, and trust those numbers and view them as unfavorable, you could be missing out on a good investment opportunity. Happens.

Always conduct your own rental survey. Learn what comparable rental properties in the area are getting for rent, and then make your own assessment of what the market will hold. You may discover something the seller missed, or you may discover that the seller priced the property without considering the rental potential at all.

Then run your own numbers. Using the rents you think are most in line with the market, recalculate the cash flow, capitalization rate, cash-on-cash, internal rate of return, and other financial measures of the investment property. Who knows, you might discover a nugget of a deal you might have otherwise missed. Happens.

Ringworm Can Affect Anyone – Here Are Home Remedies

Ringworm doesn’t really care who it affects: you, your dogs, or your cats. And since it spreads easily, if you have kids at school, you might find yourself dealing with it.

It’s not really a worm. It’s a fungal infection of the skin that usually appears in humans as raised red spots with sharp edges… that look like a worm coiled under the skin. It doesn’t always look like a ring when it affects your pets, but it causes hair to break over the affected area.

Ringworm can be transferred back and forth between pets and humans, pets and pets, or humans and humans. Fungal spores can live for a long time in the environment, so it’s important to do a good fungal cleaning if your house has had it.

But – I promised some home remedies, not a lecture on cleaning the house, so here they are. Use most several times a day.

The greatest show in the world

Today something common happened. Something that happens two or three times every weekend in two or three cities in the United States every week.

Today something common happened. Something he had never thought about before, never really noticed before.

Something common happened today and I finally realized it.

Today I took my family to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum Bailey Circus in Orlando, Florida. We wander among the animal enclosures admiring Asian elephants and several varieties of tigers. We were in awe of the beautifully groomed horses and the somewhat stubborn zebras. While the animals were preparing for their part in the show, the humans were ushered into the arena. There are circus performers of all kinds mingling with the audience giving autographs, posing for pictures, smiling and waving. This was everyday Americana.

It was only when the lights dimmed and everyone found their seats that something happened. One of the world’s greatest emcees, Tom McFarland, officiated. Tom McFarland is a master of ceremonies extraordinaire. He is attended by some of the highest paid motivational speakers in the world. As he enters the arena, PT Barnum himself can almost be seen standing before the crowd, ushering them in for the Greatest Show on Earth. Mr. McFarland’s singing voice is a rich baritone, but when he came out he wasn’t singing. He walked out humbly despite his big, sequenced emcee uniform. Like the General that he is (at least in the circus), Tom McFarland strode out in a single white spotlight. On the huge television screen appeared the tape “We Support Our Troops” by the Ringling Brothers.

The audience fell silent as a humble emcee stood up and announced that he would like to thank the troops, those serving in foreign lands, those serving here at home and the Orlando public. Mr. McFarland stated that he had proudly served his country for 12 years in the United States Army and wanted to invite one of his acting partners, a former Air Force reservist, to perform.

Without fanfare, the curtains parted and hoofbeats were heard. Like Calvary of old, the lone horseman galloped into the arena carrying our nation’s flag. She stood upright in the stirrups as her steed halted and Mr. McFarland held out his hand. He invited the audience to rise and join him in the National Anthem. This is a common scene in American sports; a lone singer invites the audience to their feet and for a moment we all come together in support of our nation, our neighbors and our troops.

But today was somehow different. As the words began to echo through the arena, the little children began to chant at the top of their lungs. Heard even over the amplified voice of Mr. McFarland and the accompanying brass band, the little children sang:

“Oh tell me, can you see by the early light of dawn? What we so proudly hail at the

the last glow of twilight…”

In all my various professional roles, I have learned to avoid emotional displays, but tears streamed down my face as my voice joined the voices of hundreds saluting our nation and the more than 3,000 who have given their lives for it. in recent years. .

A beautiful thing happened today, and in the words of the final song on Ringling Brothers and Barnum Bailey’s Greatest Show on Earth, “Anything is possible.”

Unemployed For A Living – Make Quick Money Online Selling Tumbleweeds?

Linda Katz sells tumbleweeds. You read well. Tumbleweeds. Dry, dead, brown tumbleweeds.

Linda sells tumbleweeds online and she sells a lot. Last year alone, she sold more than $40,000 worth of tumbleweeds, all from the comfort of her rural Kansas home. Who the hell buys tumbleweeds?

Ralph Lauren, for example. And Pottery Barn. Both companies have used Linda’s tumbleweeds in store windows. A couple of major Hollywood studios get their tumbleweeds from Linda Katz. Miramax played her tumbleweed opposite Johnny Depp in “Finding Neverland.” They have also appeared on “Barney & Friends.”

NASA is a big fan. In fact, the US federal government is its main customer. When they were designing and testing their “Tumbleweed Rover”, NASA purchased all of their tumbleweeds exclusively from Linda Katz.

He has clients in Paris, Dubai and Japan. Selling tumbleweeds to an international clientele and earning enough money to support herself and her family is an incredible achievement. But it’s not the most incredible part of Linda’s story. The really amazing thing about Linda’s success is that it happened completely by accident! Linda never planned to become the world’s largest provider of tumbleweeds. It was a complete fluke!

Like many people, Linda understood the importance and power of the Internet. At first, she saw it as an exciting way to keep in touch with her loved ones, and she wanted to create a “family website.” So she Linda took a class to learn how to design websites. As part of an assignment, she created a mock website for a make-believe business called “Prairie Tumbleweed Farms”, where she offered “small, medium and large Tumbleweeds”. It was a fictional business that was supposed to help her learn a new skill. She created a website for her fantasy farm, posted some photos of tumbleweeds rolling in her front yard, wrote some mock product descriptions, and set up an online shopping cart to process credit cards. It was all just for fun… until she started taking orders. Lots of orders! An average of about 15 orders per week to start.

Now, 14 years later, Linda’s online business generates more annual revenue than the average nine-to-five worker. She never leaves the house and her store is open 24 hours. Anyone in the world can browse your inventory and place an order. Scientists, horticulturists, NASA engineers, and Wild West enthusiasts can point and click. The money they spend is deposited directly into their bank account. Every time an order comes through her website, she walks out the front door, grabs a large dried tumbleweed, puts it in a box, and waits for the UPS truck to arrive. (They come directly to her house to pick up the packages.)

Today, Prairie Tumbleweed Farms employs many of Linda’s relatives, who share in the profits. And the whole remarkable affair was completely unintentional.

If Linda Katz can sell $40,000 worth of dead, dry, crusty brown tumbleweeds strictly by accident, imagine what she could sell if she really tried.
