Pros and Cons of Being a Freelance Android Developer in Singapore

The freelance scene in Singapore has evolved considerably in recent years, especially when it comes to high-level professionals such as application developers. This may seem like a good sign, but it is rejected by the poor economic growth of the country. There was only 0.2% growth during the last quarter compared to the 6.2% improvement in the previous quarter as reported by Focus Economics. Earlier this year, the National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) raised concerns about unknown variables in the freelance industry and has since announced measures to help freelancers, including a job fair to connect them with new clients.

Let’s take a look at the realities on the ground and compare the pros and cons of choosing Android autonomous development as a way of life in Singapore.

The good news

Liberty

The biggest advantage of being an independent developer is the freedom. You have no one breathing down your neck and you can choose which job to accept. Having direct conversations with clients gives you a better idea of what they want and no one can interfere with your creative process. This makes things more efficient and you only need to respond to the customer.

Easy to enter

The Android industry is progressing spectacularly in Singapore right now. The country was the first in Asia to introduce Android Pay, the new version of Google Wallet, in collaboration with MasterCard last month. There are plenty of resources to get started on your own and fewer restrictions from the Google Play Store during the app launch.

Effective cost

Apple and other major operating systems are expensive when it comes to development. Both hardware and software are expensive, making the task of a freelance application developer difficult. Android is the best option with a one-time registration fee of 25 USB compared to Apple’s $ 99 per year. The standard 30% commission applies to app sales on the Google Play Store.

Free SDK

An application developer cannot survive without tools, so they must also take a closer look at the costs involved. The cost of the Apple SDK is included in the annual fee for the iOS Developer Program, but the Android SDK is completely free and available for download on Windows, Linux, etc.

Time is right

As the Android industry is at its peak in Singapore right now, there couldn’t be a better time to look for an independent Android app developer. Growth is expected to increase in the near future as there is a huge market for Android applications in the country.

The bad news

Fragmentation

There are so many versions of Android still in use among the population that most companies prefer to launch their Android application in more than one. There is still more to come, making it more difficult to design applications for numerous versions according to the specifications of the device.

Less legal protection

Since there is no proper union for freelancers in Singapore, they are not eligible for benefits like medical, leave, legal rights like regular employees. However, positive steps are being taken in this regard. In March this year, the National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) highlighted that self-employed workers needed a reliable system to safeguard their rights.

Payment problems

The biggest problem in freelancing is money, although native Android app developers are highly paid and in high demand. Even when the task is complete, the customer can be lazy when it comes to transferring their payment. They are often under the impression that the rates are negotiable and that they can get the job done cheaper just because you are a freelancer. There is also no annual increase like that received by permanent employees.

No property

Being an independent developer sometimes means that you cannot claim confidential and intellectual property rights to your work. This can hamper your career growth, and of course you could turn down jobs like these, narrowing down your options.

No third party support

If your professional rights are violated in any way, you cannot seek the help of a union because such a thing does not exist in Singapore. You will have to give up or settle for something much less because there is no proper representation for you by law.

Business

Small businesses without an emergency preparedness plan? You’re headed for disaster

The word “Disaster” immediately brings violence to mind: a hurricane, a flood, or an earthquake. Just thinking about it, the real impact of a disaster, no matter what its cause, becomes clear.

When a disaster hits a small business without an emergency survival plan, it likely means total closure of the company and loss of jobs for everyone involved.

Even when a plan is in place, you may be missing a key component: being prepared to handle employees’ concern for the safety and well-being of their loved ones.

This concern is so strong that it is often known that even the highest staff members, with the greatest responsibility for mission-critical functions, leave the business altogether, struggling to get home to save the family from chaos or the imaginary danger.

If key personnel have left, even though the building is still standing, the result can be the same: total closure.

Is there a solution?

After a career working with small (and larger) businesses, and the last 15 years helping to build and lead an emergency preparedness team in the local neighborhood, we believe there IS a solution.

In our opinion, the ideal solution is the coordination or even the “integration” of communities. This can be achieved when …

  • Company management, staff and employees have been trained in the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

  • The company has built its emergency preparedness plan around the CERT model and these specially trained employees.

  • All members of the employee family have been encouraged or even supported to receive the same CERT training.

The ideal extension of this concept would be for each of the employees’ residential neighborhoods to also become CERT-enabled communities, which we must recognize is an unlikely possibility.

Nevertheless simply knowing that their families are prepared for major emergencies would allow employees to remain in their jobs longer, helping the business take immediate action to protect critical equipment and data to preserve the business and its revenue.

It’s a win / win if it can be done. And even if only part of the solution can be implemented, the business will be in a better place to withstand or even prevent business disruption.

It all starts with emergency preparedness plans for the neighborhood and / or business. Such plans are NOT difficult to develop given the many resources available from government sources and dedicated authors. But it is urgent to start now:

  1. Emergencies can and do happen. Without a plan, they can turn into disasters.

  2. Your planning should be done BEFORE the emergency occurs.

New and inexpensive tools are available to ease the process. Don’t wait any longer to get started!

How to make a hole in a glass bottle

Over the years, I have found myself in situations where I needed to make a hole in glass bottles or just glass. From craft projects for the kids, fixing up the garage, or helping my friend make wind chimes out of soda bottles, we’ve settled on our top 3 methods! Here’s how to poke a hole in a glass bottle! Remember that all methods will require some patience, so be sure to set aside some time to complete your project!

Method 1

By far the diamond drill works best. YOU can buy them from a number of different places, we’ve found eBay to be the cheapest! Make sure to cover the bottom of the bottle with duct tape and leave a circular shape open at the desired location. Keep using your drill at a very low speed! Be patient! You can also collect some drilling oil to help with the whole cut. * Water works too!

Method 2

Using a round tapered file and drill. My husband refers to it as the rat tail file. Anyway, you need to get some turpentine and put some in a small oil can that has one of those squirt lids. You will use this to apply requests between presentations. This is a slow process, so be sure to use the slowest setting on your drill. Remember to let the friction of the file do the work, don’t try to rush the process by pressing firmly.

Method 3

Duct tape and lighter! I haven’t personally tried it, but my friend swears it. He makes a lot of glass wind chimes and says this is the only way to do it. It’s easy and almost free! First, cover the bottom of your bottle with duct tape. Remove the desired circle, then be sure to wet the surrounding edges of the tape, along with your fingers. * She suggests having a glass of water on hand, so if your fingers get hot, you can simply dip them into the glass. Next, use your lighter and heat the bottom of the bottle, and once it is very hot place it directly in cold water. Sometimes your circle won’t break completely, but you can end up with a file or a ball hammer!

All of the above methods will require some patience! There is no quick way! I’ve heard of other methods, but these are the safest for your bottle. Any method that contains alcohol or acetone combined with lighting will cause major stress points or fractures on your bottle. Hope you find it useful and you have new knowledge on how to make a hole in a glass bottle. Remember that slow and steady always wins the race!

Hybrid car history

Some people believe that the hybrid vehicle started in the early 20th century. In fact, hybrid vehicles have been around longer than you think. The beginning of hybrid technology was believed to have been in 1665, when Ferdinand Veriest and the Jesuit priest began working on a plan to create a simple four-wheel vehicle that could be powered by steam or horse-drawn. Then in 1769 when the steam wagon was invented. Although this carriage has the speed of six miles per hour, it is still difficult to maintain enough steam for a long distance trip. It was then improved upon when Gurney-worthy British inventor Golds built a steam car that successfully completed an 85-mile round-trip in ten hours. Then, in 1893, Moritz Von Jacobi sailed in an electric boat on the Neva, using a horsepower electromagnetic motor. And in or around that year was when Robert Anderson of Aberdeen, Scotland, built the first electric vehicle. However, the vehicle brought many problems such as limited autonomy and a difficult battery to recharge. It was later improved upon by David Salomon in 1870 when he developed an electric car with a lightweight electric motor, but still faced problems creating a battery that could be easily recharged.

Then in 1879, Dr. Werner Von Siemens built the first electric railway. The vehicle’s wheels were powered by an electric motor that drew its electricity from rails that were isolated from the ground and connected to a generator. And also in that decade, the year 1886, London business investors became interested in developing an electric taxi. The design was powered by a 28-cell battery system that would power a small electric motor. Even so, it did not come into regular use. Then came the year 1888, a company built a four-passenger carriage for the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire that runs on a horsepower motor and a 24-cell battery. And that same year, Manus Vol in Brighton, England, made a three-wheeled electric car.

Then, in 1897, the London Electric Cab Company began providing the city with regular service, using a cab powered by a 40-cell battery and a three-horsepower electric motor. It was named “Betsey Cab” after its inventor, Walter Betsey. The cabin can travel up to fifty miles before the battery needs to be recharged. The year 1897 rolled around, where the Pope Manufacturing Company of Hartford, Connecticut, built electric cars over a two-year period.

Then after that year came 1898, the year in which the world’s first hybrid car, the “mixed” gasoline-electric Loonier Porsche, was built by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche of Germany. Porsche gave the nickname “Aunt Eulalie” to the first series of hybrids, but officially it was called Simper Viv-us, which means “always alive. The first hybrid car can travel a distance of forty miles on just one battery. This The The car used a gasoline engine rotating at constant speed to drive a dynamo, which charged a bank of accumulators. The accumulators then fed current to the electric motors contained in the front wheel hubs. Therefore, there was no need for driveshafts, transmission, gears, belts, chains or clutch. And due to the rapid success of the hybrid car, companies like Kroger, Lonee Porsche and Auto Mixtec produced thousands of hybrid cars in the year between 1902 and 1920.

The 1900s saw the creation of hybrid gas and electric cars in Belgium. It was developed by Pie per, a Belgian car manufacturer. He introduced a three-and-a-half horsepower engine, in which the small gasoline engine was linked to an electric motor that sits under the seat. The electric motor was, in effect, a generator that recharges the batteries while driving. However, when the car needed some extra power to go up a steep incline, the electric motor would kick in and provide a boost to the gasoline engine. And due to the popularity of hybrid electric cars, the Electric Vehicle Company built 2,000 taxis, trucks, and buses, and established a subsidiary of taxi and car rental companies from New York to Chicago in early 1904. In 1905, a American engineer named H. Piper filed a patent for a gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle. His idea was to use an electric motor to assist an internal combustion engine, primarily to add the ICE to allow the vehicle to accelerate to 25 miles per hour in 10 seconds, instead of the usual 30 miles per hour. Then after three and a half years, the patent was issued. By this time, the engines had become powerful enough to achieve this kind of performance on their own.

In 1910, a company by the name of Commercial Built Truck, which used a four-cylinder gas engine to power a generator, eliminated the need for a transmission and Battery Park. This hybrid was built by the company in Philadelphia until 1918. Electric hybrid cars and vapors almost completely disappeared in 1913. Electric car sales fell to 6,000 vehicles, while more than 180,000 gasoline cars were sold. Many automakers who still believe in the idea of a hybrid car still go to great lengths to get hybrid cars back into production. Like Baker of Cleveland and Woods of Chicago, two major electric vehicle manufacturers offered hybrid cars that can top speed 35 mph and achieve fuel efficiency of 48 mph. And the Woods Dual Power was more expensive and less powerful than its gasoline competition and was therefore a poor seller.

And then he considered that the year 1920 to 1965 became the dormant period for mass-produced electric and hybrid cars. However, hybrid vehicle technology did not disappear and its development continues. Many people still believe in hybrid technology. Hybrid vehicle technology becomes the answer to most global problems. As in 1966; The United States Congress introduced the first bills recommending the use of electric vehicles as a means of reducing air pollution. After a long period of silence, hybrid cars appeared again in 1969. The same year General Motors 512 was designed, it runs entirely on electric power at a speed of less than ten miles per hour. The vehicle ran on a combination of electric power and gas combustion at 10 to 13 miles per hour. The Arab oil embargo became a big problem in 1973. The price of gasoline skyrocketed, sparking new interest in electric vehicles. The US Department of Energy conducted a test on many electric and hybrid vehicles produced by various manufacturers, including the hybrid known as the Volkswagen Taxi that was produced by Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, West Germany. The Volkswagen Taxi was shown at car shows in the United States and Europe. It used a parallel hybrid setup that allowed for flexible switching between the gasoline engine and the electric motor and logged more than 8,000 miles on the highway. Volkswagen Taxi is considered to have the highest efficiency rating of any hybrid it has ever exhibited up to that point. In 1974, engineers Victor Wok and Charlie Ros-en were part of the Federal Clean Car Incentive Program, creating a prototype gas hybrid electric vehicle using a Buick Skylark body. The vehicle was tested and certified to meet the strict guidelines of an EPA clean air car program by the US Environmental Protection Agency, but was later rejected. American Motors developed a fleet of electric trucks and delivered 352 electric trucks to the US Postal Service, which they tested extensively. Unfortunately, the project did not reach the level of success that everyone expected.

The years 1976 to 1980 were the year when hybrid technology has been of great help. The Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Research, Development, and Demonstration Act of 1976 and the United States Congress enacted Public Law 94-413 were among the goals of the act to work with industry to improve batteries, motors, controllers, and others. hybrid electrical components. And General Electric was chosen to build a parallel hybrid sedan. And Toyota built a small sports car with a gas turbine generator that powers an electric motor, making it Toyota’s first hybrid car. Audi introduced the first generation of the Audi Duo experimental vehicle in 1989. It is based on the Audi 100 Av-anti Quarto. It has a 12.6 horsepower electric motor, which drives the rear wheel instead of the propeller shaft. And also use a nickel cadmium battery to supply power. Two years after that, Audi introduced the second generation Duo, which is also based on the Audi 100 Av-anti Quarto. Toyota came back introducing the Pris in 1997, which is unique to its Japanese market. That year, the Pris sold 18,000 cars and appeared to be the first hybrid vehicle in the world to be significantly mass-marketed. Then Honda introduced the Insight, a two-door lightweight hybrid model that broke the American market in 1999. The vehicle could demonstrate a rating of 61 miles per gallon in the city and 70 miles per gallon on the highway.

The year 2000 has arrived and the door of the new century to hybrid technology opens. Many companies and automakers introduce and launch many new vehicles and improve their own hybrid vehicles. Toyota launched the first four-door hybrid sedan available in the United States in 2000. And Honda introduces Honda Civic Hybrids, its second available gasoline hybrid electric car. The appearance and demonstrability of the car were and still are identical to those of the conventional Civic. And in 2004, Toyota launched the Toyota Pris II, which won the 2004 Car of the Year award from Motor Trend magazine and the North American Auto Show. The demand for Toyota Pris II was surprising as they increased production from 36,000 to 47,000 for the US market. Many interested buyers waited up to six months to purchase the 2004 Taken. In addition, in September of that year, Ford launched the Escape Hybrid, the first American hybrid and the first hybrid SUV.

The sudden surge in oil product in 2007 had been a major crisis all over the world. And because of that, the production of cars and hybrid vehicles had increased. Many car companies and automakers around the world created many different types of hybrid vehicles. Some even convert their ordinary cars into hybrid cars. Today, many taxis in the Philippines had been using Auto-gas, used as an automotive transportation fuel, or LP gas as an alternative to motorized gasoline. The development of this type of hybrid cars does help many people who are having a problem with the increase in the price of oil and it becomes the answer to the increase in the price of oil in the problem of air pollution.

Top 5 ways to make yourself more marketable while unemployed

Does it sound familiar to you? You’ve been out of work for over a few months and you’re on the edge of your wits. Your resume is posted on all social networking sites; You’ve gotten in touch with every former high school classmate and classmate you can think of. and has applied to all job openings in his field since last November.

You are stuck and don’t know what to do next.

While you’ll obviously keep looking for work, here are some ready-to-use ideas that will not only keep you busy, but also help you build your resume while you’re out of work. Who knows, they might even take you to your next job.

Living and working abroad

Perhaps you once dreamed of packing your things and moving to another country, but you were worried about what might affect your resume. If you don’t have a job and are looking for what’s next, now might be the perfect time to work and live abroad.

Living abroad will not only give you the opportunity to experience another culture and learn another language, but if you play your cards right, you can get paid to do so. Working as an au pair or working for one of the many English teaching programs, for example, can provide you with the funds you need to live and work in Japan, Korea, France, and many other countries.

Voluntary

One of the worst things about being unemployed is being stuck at home all day. Go back to the world by volunteering. Helping out at your local animal shelter, homeless center, or religious organization will get you out of the house and surrounded by people.

Plus, it will help fill that gap on your resume, give you a sense of personal fulfillment, and may even introduce you to a potential contact, client, or colleague.

Free throw

These days, many companies prefer to hire a short-term consultant than to hire another FTE (full-time employee). You may not realize it, but you likely have business skills that could help you get to your next job and generate a great deal of cash while doing it.

Think about the experience you have and how you can promote yourself. If you worked in marketing, advertising, public relations, or communications, you probably have the writing skills to work as a freelance writer and editor. If you’re a former IT / computer science pro, try offering your web design services to smaller businesses and startups that can’t afford an in-house webmaster. If you’ve ever worked as an art director, take advantage of your skills and start a freelance graphic design business.

In addition to earning a few extra dollars, freelance projects can help you grow your personal network and portfolio, and can even lead to a relationship with a future employer.

Brush up on your skills

If you graduated from school a while ago, your industry has likely changed slightly since it last hit the books. Take your time off as an opportunity to catch up on the latest technologies, software products, and paradigm shifts in your career field.

A quick and inexpensive way to update your education is to take a certification class. Certification classes can range from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the level of commitment and the information you are looking for. Best of all, they can show a future employer your personal drive and motivation, as well as add a continuing education component to your resume.

Find temporary work

If a full-time position just doesn’t present itself, consider working at a temp agency or staffing company. These organizations will test your skills and then compare them to a company that needs a worker to replace another employee who is sick, on vacation, or on maternity leave.

While some positions are short-term and may last only a few days, other “temporary to permanent” positions can turn your temporary job into a full-time career. Either way, these opportunities give you a chance to network, add to your resume, and put some money in your pocket.

Message of encouragement in difficult times

These are tough times, to say the least.

We face the most widespread and extensive global health emergency in at least 100 years. Our economy reels like a delirious boxer. Opinions have become “facts.” Social unrest is boiling over. The political “speech” (as it is), focused on the elimination or retention of possibly the most controversial, divisive and polarizing administration in memory; has become that of a pair of three-year-olds yelling “You’re a poop!” “No, your face is!” It feels like we are together, untethered in an old rusty school bus from the 1950s; without seat belts, hurtling down a bumpy mountain road, out of control, clinging to life as we screamed in terror for someone to save us as we plunged off a cliff on November 3. ; assuming that eventually everything will be fine. Yet that screeching inner voice refusing to shut up, saying, “Don’t get your hopes up,” keeps rising. I just want everything to stop.

But wait, there is more!

Ghia, Mother Earth, is facing an existential crisis, resulting in endless firestorms, incessant floods, dry drafts, and in general an exceptionally harsh climate, which is devastating property and lives (including non-human ones) at an unprecedented global level. (For the record, I long to live in a world where the word “unprecedented” is no longer a standard adjective.)

The catalog of events of aiming, squeezing the chest and producing anxiety has us in the hairpin triggers, damaging our collective and emotional physical and mental health. For those of us who can remember, 1968 is a Disney fairy tale compared to the Stephen King horror story of 2020. No one, not a single person alive today, has ever experienced upheaval like this. None of us.

Of course, I don’t need to tell you that. You see it. You feel it. You are living it, just like me. As the curse says, we live in “fascinating” times.

It is a challenge to keep hope high when even the sky is covered in a thick layer of burnt smoke.

However, a flicker crossed my mind.

In the field of behavior change, the trigger that causes change is known to be a combination of fear, strength, and pain. After all, no one wakes up one morning, examines their lifestyle, decides that everything is idyllic, and proclaims, “God, I love my life! Let me see how I can change it.” No, change only becomes known once we are exhausted, scared, scarred, abused, and overwhelmed. It’s called “rock bottom”, that gut-churning feeling that something, anything, is better than where we are, so despite the pain or uncertainty that awaits us, reluctantly, reluctantly, in a subdued way, we walk cautiously into the new. If done smoothly and repeatedly, change evolves.

As individuals, as a society, as an inextricably linked global community as one, that’s where we are now: hitting rock bottom.

Therefore, I am trying, I will weakly admit, to see these days not as the end of time, but as the momentum that makes us question everything and hopefully take the energy from the turbulence that churns around us as the catalyst to move forward bit by bit. in the direction of what future historians will call the “New Awakening.” From this pain, I envision a world for our great-grandchildren and beyond, that is more compassionate, gentle, kind, supportive, cooperative, and in balance with the planet.

I’m not sure that you and I live there; it will take generations to complete the arc. But we have to believe, pray, affirm, and act like it’s going to happen. The alternative is unthinkable.

We must not let go of hope. We must remember that we are all in this together.

Lose weight while you sleep

Lose Weight While You Sleep – Wow!

I have many clients who constantly ask me how to lose weight, but very rarely do people consider the fact that you can increase your metabolism while you sleep. I think this is because most people associate fat loss with hard work and high intensity exercise. This is definitely true, there are no quick fix shortcuts to achieving the body you want. However, there are little tricks you can do to help increase the number of calories you burn.

Let me explain how to burn fat while you sleep. The first tip that is probably the most important is to increase your overall resting metabolism.

In addition to increasing your RMR (resting metabolic rate), there are other solutions for losing weight while you sleep. One of those solutions is to focus on specific types of training that break down more muscle tissue.

Weight training in general has been shown to be the best way to safely and effectively break down muscle tissue. Slow reps with a heavy enough weight is one of the best ways to maximize hypertrophy or muscle breakdown and gain.

When muscles break down, it takes time and energy (also known as calories) to repair damaged muscles. So if you do weight training and break your muscles, while you sleep at night, your muscle tissues will use calories to repair themselves.

The other very effective and simple way to lose weight while you sleep is by eating a meal high in fat and protein before bed.

Although a high-fat meal before bed sounds a bit counterintuitive, trust me, give it a try. Fat slows down the digestion of whatever food we eat. So if I have a piece of steak, it will likely take longer to break down than a whey protein shake.

Don’t eat fat after your workout because you want the protein to break down and get into your bloodstream and muscles as quickly as possible. To further slow down the digestion of the food you eat before bed, have a source of slow-digesting protein. Again, whey protein is not very slow digesting, but there are many sources of slow digesting protein to choose from. This, combined with the fat, will literally create a weight loss dinner.

Protein sources such as casein, cottage cheese, milk, pork, steak, chicken, turkey, salmon, and nut butters. Be careful with nut butters because one macronutrient we don’t want to consume before bed is carbohydrates. Nut butters typically come with carbs, so if you were trying to cut down and lose weight, you’d probably avoid them all together.

I hope I have helped answer the question about how to lose weight while you sleep. Go out to dinner to lose weight and make it rich in fat and protein.

My father’s funeral in Arlington

After our limo passed through the Arlington Cemetery gates, I looked to the left and saw two parents visiting their son or daughter. They sat on lawn chairs in front of a grave. It wasn’t the formation of “lost man” planes that flew over my head that made me cry. It wasn’t the horse-drawn coffin that vanished against the silhouette of the trees that saddened me. The men with guns, who were firing into the sky in homage, began to pursue me. It was the sacrifice and the pain of the loss that saddened me. All these men and women around me gave their lives for this country. He was sad for his parents, wives, and children. My father was older when he passed away. He lived a long and successful life. Most of the military men buried in Arlington did not have the same opportunity. This is what my father would communicate to me, if he had been there.

Charles Bernard Kenning, an attorney, was buried in Arlington Cemetery with full military honors in February 2009. He was uncompromising, uncompromising, and strong. It would remind us that freedom is always at stake; He will ask you to respect the law.

Junior lawyers learn to isolate, manipulate, and alter truths; however, Charles Kenning believed that, in truth, there is no compromise. Our Founding Fathers fought tyranny with truth, values, compassion, and the rule of law. He believed that these men created the greatest democracy in history. Our Founding Fathers were great intellects. Many of them were not only statesmen, but also university presidents, lawyers, and parents.

They studied, sought and fought for ideals such as justice and individual freedom and human dignity. It is this story that brought the United States of America out of the world. It is this framework that created a people who possess the power to vote, work and speak freely in the pursuit of happiness. Charles Kenning would ask us not to allow our pontiffs to blind us with falsehoods, taxes, misinterpretations of the law. Unpaid bills and rewritten rules that will lead our children into an era of economic, political and social slavery.

This message was consistent with his actions. Charles B. Kenning was shot down in Germany on his 23rd mission in 1944. In the prison camp, he was aware of American rights and explained the Geneva Convention to his captors. All that was left to protect their camp, at that point in their war experience, were frightened young Germans with big guns. My father was lucky to speak German.

Like our ancestors, Charles Kenning fought for democracy and the rights of the individual. Upon leaving the prison camp, “Life Magazine” captured and published an image of the event that marked his departure. With crutches in hand, he broke the Nazi flag. It was this image that alerted his mother, who was thousands of miles away: her son was alive. With spirit intact, he would return home. Sonny-boy, as Nana would call him, would tell them that we must honor, uphold, and respect the conventions of the law and our constitution.

Charles B. Kenning graduated from Georgetown University and soon after passed several bar exams offered on the DC Beltway. The screw that was drilled through his leg to prop up his ankle, during the war, did not hinder his forward momentum. It was this tenacity with which he approached his love of freedom. In life, his spirit was unaffected. In illness and near death, he did not complain.

Charles B. Kenning was a collector. He collected cars, boats, and books. Few people know that he owned each and every law book that the West Publishing Company ever produced. Thousands of square feet of law library were meticulously lined up in our home. When I was a teenager, I remember learning that this was strange. Friends came to play and then came back in groups for the library tour and to buy snacks. I soon learned not to invite anyone into that part of the house. I didn’t want to be different; all the other houses in Pittsford were not built on foundations that reflected an underground city equipped with libraries and food-filled fog shelters.

In college, my sisters and I started calling this part of our home “Chuck’s-Mart.” The prices were correct, after all. Anyone can find a free book or feed the entire bedroom if necessary. There was no need for a blue light special at Old Farm Circle. He never realized that books or groceries were missing. The filthy and hungry masses who walked through our doors appreciated this oversight.

When my father became disabled, his beloved library moved to Albany, New York, and became the best part of a student law library. He would have liked to join them in their studies. After law school, he taught law at John Fisher College. He was the type of teacher who wanted students to read and actively discuss topics. However, when discussing a point with Charles Kenning, you’d better get the facts right. He was not an easy teacher.

If Professor Kenning were alive today, he would ask students to read the bills that Congress is proposing. He invited his students to actively discuss the issues. I would like the precedence and contrasting positions to be justified. Professor Kenning would have been disappointed by a government and a people who did his reading. Congressmen, who do not read the bills, have equally horrified him. He was neither a compromising person nor an easy man.

I could imagine Mr. Kenning saying something like; “Some advocates of rewriting and creating new laws have learned that in chaos, there are opportunities. But in true freedom, there is only the rule of law.” My father would say that the truth cannot be masked in bills and in revisionist history. Our history is clear, our founders were forthright, and our agenda as a people is predestined. It is our duty, our right and our privilege to live in freedom and defend the constitution. As leaders, we must hold our legislators, politicians, and families to high standards.

Charles B. Kenning did not obscure the truth to gain political power, popularity, fame, or financial gain. He was a student of American History. who believed in defending the law. He had great love and respect for the constitution. I would ask you to hope to protect your children and future generations with the same document. He was adamant in this belief.

My sister relates a conversation she would have with her children. It would start out as a question; “Did you do the best you could?” If you answered “Yes”, there was more to follow “… if that’s the best you can do, you’ve done enough.” Then I would add the touch; “Now go help someone else do better.” He was unwavering and stubborn.

Beginner’s Guide to Achieving the Perfect Twist

Have you ever tried a twist just to achieve a curly lock? Well, I’ve done it before. Throughout the four years of my natural hair journey, I have experienced many hair successes and failures. My failures have helped me learn countless tips for styling natural hair. My many twisting failures have helped me create guidelines to achieve the perfect twist.

Whether you are struggling to combat frizz in your hair or to achieve definition, this article will provide you with the essential steps to achieve the perfect hairstyle.

1) wash hair

Clean hair is essential to start this process. Since you will be applying a new product to your hair to achieve this style, it will be necessary to have clean hair to prevent product build-up and allow your style to last longer.

2) deep condition

The sulfate in the shampoo makes the hair dry and strips it of its moisture. To replenish moisture, you’ll want to deep condition your hair for 15-30 minutes. Since this hairstyle will last for a while, deep conditioning will help replenish moisture and keep your hair hydrated throughout the life of your hairstyle.

After applying the conditioner, put a plastic cap on your hair. Then sit under a hair dryer for 15 to 30 minutes to allow the product to penetrate the hair follicles. Next, wash the conditioner off in cold water to seal in the moisture in your cuticle.

3) Dry hair

Use a cotton t-shirt to dry your hair instead of a towel or blow dryer. Wearing a t-shirt will prevent breakage and reduce frizz. Wrap the shirt around your hair and let the shirt absorb the water for about 30 minutes.

4) Moisturize hair

Once your hair is slightly dry, take off your shirt and start moisturizing your hair using the LOC method (liquid, oil, cream), this will give your hair the best results.

Since your hair will already be damp, you can skip the first step of adding liquid to your hair. Then apply any hair oil of your choice to help retain moisture in your hair, such as olive oil, coconut oil, Jamaican black castor oil, or even a mixture of all of them. Finally, you will apply a butter-based moisturizer to lock in the moisture with a hair cream of your choice, such as a Whipped Shea Butter Blend, Cantu Shea Butter, Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In Conditioner .

5) Section and untangle

Once your hair is hydrated, it’s time to section and detangle it. First divide your hair into 4 sections and pin each section together. Then detangle each section using a wide tooth comb or your fingers to detangle each section. Once you have detangled all four sections of hair, choose 1 of the 4 sections to separate into smaller sections to begin twisting your hair.

6) Twist your hair

Once your hair is divided into smaller, medium-sized sections, you will apply the holding product of your choice to your hair. Before you start twisting your hair, you’ll want to untangle the section you want to twist to ensure a defined twist. Once you’ve finished twisting, repeat the process until you’ve finished twisting your hair.

7) dry

Now that you have finished twisting your hair. Let your hair air dry completely. You can do this by wrapping your hair in a hat and sleeping through the night. If time is running out, you can speed up the drying process with a hooded dryer.

8) Unravel

The unraveling process is one of the most important parts of achieving a sharp turn. To avoid frizz, you should apply oil to your fingertips before detangling your hair. Keep repeating the process until you have removed all of your twists.

9) Shape and separate

When all your twists have been removed, then you will separate your untangled twists. Once all your twists have been parted, then you give your hair the desired shape.

10) Maintain

To keep this style defined, wrap your hair at night in a silk scarf or beanie. Once you’ve removed the bonnet, hydrate and reshape your hair as needed.

Stay of enforcement of California judgment

The stay of enforcement of a California sentence is the subject of this article. Section 918 of the Code of Civil Procedure is the California statute that authorizes a trial court to stay the execution of any judgment, but only for a limited period of time. For most California judgments, such as money judgments, the trial court can stay the enforcement for no more than 10 days after the last date a notice of appeal could be filed.

A California stay of enforcement request requires the plaintiff to file a served motion or, more commonly, an ex parte request for what is known as a stay of enforcement of judgment.

Any party in California that has had a monetary judgment issued against them in California must realize the vital importance of immediately requesting a stay of enforcement of any monetary judgment as soon as possible after the judgment has been entered. The reason for this is section 683.010 of the Code of Civil Procedure which states that, “Unless otherwise provided by law or in the judgment, a judgment is enforceable under this title at the time of entry.” This means that California law allows a judgment creditor to initiate a collection proceeding to enforce the judgment as soon as the court clerk has entered the judgment – in some cases it can be the same day!

In cases where the judgment creditor is particularly aggressive and one of the parties believes that collection efforts can begin immediately, that party may wish to file an ex parte application for stay of enforcement.

The time period in which enforcement of a judgment can be stayed varies depending on whether the case is a limited civil or unlimited civil case and whether the clerk of court or any other party to the action. Therefore, each case is unique and this is why there are several different deadlines for filing a notice of appeal for both limited civil cases and unlimited civil cases. Examples of the different time frames are given below.

California Court Rule 8.822 governs the deadline for filing a notice of appeal in limited civil cases.

For most limited civil cases in which a notice of sentencing has been served on the defendant by the clerk of court or any party, the deadline for filing a notice of appeal is 30 days from the date the notice of the delivery of the sentence the accused is delivered.

For most limited civil cases, if no notice of judgment was served on the defendant, the deadline for filing a notice of appeal is 90 days from the date the court clerk renders judgment.

California Court Rule 8.104 governs the deadline for filing a notice of appeal in limited civil cases.

For most unlimited civil cases in which the court clerk or either party has served a sentencing notice on the defendant, the deadline for filing a notice of appeal is 60 days from the date on which the notification of sentencing is delivered to the accused.

For most unlimited civil cases, if no notice of judgment was served on the defendant, the deadline for filing a notice of appeal is 190 days from the date the court clerk renders judgment.

Although the trial court has the power to stay the execution of the sentence, whether or not a notice of appeal has been filed in the real world, there are some judges who can only grant a stay of execution in the following situations :

A judgment was obtained against the plaintiff for non-compliance and they have filed or will file a motion to vacate that judgment that shows valid reasons to vacate the judgment.

The moving party has already filed a notice of appeal or will file a notice of appeal and can show at least plausible reasons to appeal the judgment and the moving party can make a strong showing that it will suffer irreparable harm if enforcement of the judgment is did not stay.

The plaintiff must include a detailed statement with specific facts and evidence detailing the irreparable harm they will suffer if a stay of enforcement is not granted and must also include all relevant documents as attachments.

Possible reasons could include that the judgment was obtained by default and the plaintiff has filed or will file a motion to vacate the judgment, that allowing enforcement of the judgment will result in the sale of a key asset of significant value, devastating an ongoing business . or it would likely lead to insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings.
