  2. Every vehicle requires an illuminated rear license plate and this is usually done with two lights on each side and above the license plate. Canada Post recently commissioned a study by a neuromarketing company that compared the effects of direct mail marketing with email marketing and display ads.

Eye tracking devices, brain wave measurement EEGs, and standard questionnaires were used in the study, which measured cognitive load (ease of understanding), motivation (persuasiveness), and levels of attention.

The study found that marketing based on print media (direct mail) was easier to process mentally and was more memorable on brand recall tests.

This suggests that there is a difference in the way our brain interacts with paper content and digital content. It supports a study from Temple University in the US from earlier this year that used functional magnetic resonance brain scanning to compare digital and paper marketing. The study found that print advertising has a greater effect on the ventral region of the striatum of the brain, which has been associated with desire and appreciation.
