The Caveman Face Regimen: Treating Acne Naturally

Have you ever gotten so tired of trying so many failed acne treatments that you considered simply not washing your face at all? Well, believe it or not, not washing your face may be the best acne treatment! Not washing your face is often called a “caveman regimen,” and many acne sufferers have had great success with it.

How is it possible that washing the face does not lighten the skin? For many people, even the mildest skin care products only make acne worse by upsetting the skin’s natural PH balance and removing its protective acid mantle. When we leave our skin alone (no makeup, no soaps or moisturizers, and even little or no water), our skin naturally reverts to a slightly acidic PH. This acidity is protective as bacteria have a harder time growing in an acidic environment. However, most cleaners tend to be mildly or even highly alkaline. To try to restore your acidity, your skin produces sebum (oil), which eventually causes acne if overproduced. Therefore, it is better that you just don’t wash your face and let it do what it naturally wants to do.

If you want to give the caveman regimen a try, there are several guidelines you’ll want to follow:

  • Do not use any product. This means there are no cleaners, moisturizers, oils, or any other products.
  • Don’t wear makeup. Apart from the fact that it contains chemicals, you will have to wash it in some way, which of course you cannot do. If you must wear some makeup, use only eye or lip makeup, which you can safely remove without affecting the surrounding skin.
  • Don’t even let the water touch your face. Even water will alter the PH balance of the skin and the acid mantle. This can be a bit challenging, especially in the shower. Just do your best. A little water won’t hurt, just try not to soak your skin.
  • Be patient. When you first start the caveman regimen, you are likely to experience a breakout. When you start the caveman regimen, it’s like your skin comes off a treadmill. It has become used to producing additional oil to replace all the oils that cleaners remove. So even when you’ve stopped using cleansers, your skin continues to produce excess oil and things can be a bit greasy for a while. But take heart, your skin will eventually learn that it doesn’t need to produce as much oil. Give your skin 3 to 6 months to rebalance its oil production.

Demystifying Japanese Mobile Phone Slang: Kaomoji, Emoji and Decomail

It’s hard enough trying to keep up with the latest English terminology and slang surrounding the use of mobes, the terribly ugly term preferred in the UK for cell phones (mobe is short for cell phones), but with Keitai terms. Japanese (that’s Japanese cell phone slang) now appearing in the English language, we old fogeys sometimes find it hard to understand what it is about. This article will try to explain two common phrases and one not so common that seem to be circulating in the SNS generation.

Literally, this is face letters, but it is also known as Japanese emoticons. These don’t just take alphabetic characters, but the entire gamut of symbol characters, Japanese, Greek, Russian kanji characters, dingbats, and whatever else you can find to make varied horizontal faces. The classic cat emoticon = ^. ^ = This is a simple example, but searching the Internet for a term like “kaomoji dictionary” will reveal hundreds, if not thousands, of kaomoji to represent almost every emotion or situation you can imagine. And a good number you couldn’t!

I find it interesting that there are many, many articles on how western emoticons came about like :-), but very little has been done to reveal the history of the Japanese kaomoji. From what I can tell, it was a Korean person in Japan in early 1986 who came up with the smiley face (^ _ ^), and a Japanese nuclear scientist who came up with (~ _ ~) around the same time.

Take a step up the evolutionary ladder and we come to emojis, literally. picture letters. These were first popularized on Japanese mobile phones, displaying a small icon instead of characters in an email. Now almost all phones support a full range of more than a hundred of these icons, and they are an essential feature for the vast majority of users in Japan, since even if people don’t type them, contacts are likely to send emails. complete electronics of them! They also infect Japanese blogs, and for many people they replace punctuation within their text. Some of the mobile service providers now even animate the glyphs, which brings us to the final term.

Decomail is actually derived from English, which is short for mail decoration. Decorated mail it would be more grammatically correct, but the official full name is indeed decoration. Actually, this should be familiar to many readers as it is just a marketing name for HTML-based email on a mobile phone, allowing for simple decoration of the text through features such as mobile banners, inset images, aligned text and color selection. An important manifestation of decomail is the use of what is effectively an animated emoji, by allowing small animations to be inserted into email, and some phones come preloaded with animations numbering in the thousands! However, these images are not limited to just small animated emoji (kaoani (animated faces) are a manifestation and another term to talk about at a later date), but they can also be larger and can even be Flash with simple scripts.

As mentioned at the beginning of this section, decomail is HTML mail, which means that yes, you can send these messages to foreign friends directly from your Japanese cell phone! Sometimes you can receive it too, but since the size and other limitations of a cell phone are quite severe, there are fewer guarantees that it will actually work.

Hope that gives you an idea of how the Japanese bring their mobile emails to life. I have no space to mention that Google’s Gmail can display emoji, nor that Apple and Google are trying to standardize emoji in Unicode, not even 2-channel emoticons, but I hope you now know the definition of kaomoji, emoji, and decomail if you listen to them in conversation.

Top 10 training metrics

Is it time you measure the effectiveness of your training programs? If you’re not sure where to start, these top ten training metrics can help.

Measuring the effectiveness of training is a very difficult task for stakeholders, training departments and end users. If you are a training manager or company stakeholder looking for ways to measure the effectiveness of your programs, these ten metrics are a great place to start.

One: higher retention. Most HR departments measure the retention rate on all or multiple jobs. Often times, high-turnover front-line jobs get the most attention. If newly trained employees feel ill-equipped for the job, they are more likely to leave within the first 90 days. When you measure training success in this way, higher retention points to a successful training program.

Two: increased sales. Many organizations can track efficiency based on sales. If the training is strongly geared towards a sales force or customer service, an effective program will eventually increase sales figures. You can also measure product awareness training as part of a sales number; sellers with little education generally don’t make the sale. Dollar figures and unit sales are good metrics, but be sure to balance any metrics with other factors that may influence the sales figures.

Three: greater operational efficiency. In highly regulated or production-oriented businesses, managers seek more efficiency, which elevates bottom line results. If your training programs teach skills, look at management efficiency metrics, as a baseline, before and after the training intervention. If you are creating a new program or product, look at the efficiency figures for guidance on the content of the training course.

Four: Customer Service Results. Any organization can link training with customer service, which can be both internal and external. Customer service is also one of the easiest places to start – a well-written survey can identify a number of customer-related issues that can be addressed through training programs. Remember that training may not be the only solution to these problems. If your organization already has a customer survey, use those metrics to verify your programs. When your programs affect survey items, you can associate an increase in customer satisfaction with the training.

Five: company-defined scorecards. Training subcontractors tend to use customer-defined criteria to determine the effectiveness of training. If your organization has a wide variety of possible measures, sit down with management and stakeholders to create a personalized scorecard based on expectations and the training programs that need to be implemented.

Six: Cost of training. This is an internal measurement of the training department. In high-turnover organizations, the reduction in cost per student can be used as a measure of effectiveness. The cost of training could also be directly related to retention – if you spend less on training new hires, your retention may be higher. Work with your stakeholders and HR department to determine training costs and where you want those numbers to be.

Seven: Return on investment. ROI has long been a “catch all” metric. In some cases, it is easy to define ROI, but in more cases it is increasingly difficult. If you do soft skills training, it’s hard to put a dollar figure on the return. There are numerous ROI calculations available, so if you are thinking of using an ROI metric, look up the formulas and plug in what you can. If you are part of a numbers-based organization, you can befriend your stakeholders by defining and measuring concrete ROI.

Eight: income generation. This metric seems more likely as a combination of sales figures, operational efficiency, and customer service. If an organization shows higher income, a strong training program can be part of that increase. If your organization is implementing a new revenue generator, such as a product or service, that is generally the best time to use revenue generation as a training metric.

Nine: Acting instructor. Instructor evaluation is an important internal measure. Results can come from student and manager evaluations and should take into account the instructor’s presentation skills, subject knowledge, projection of organizational values, and adherence to instructional guidelines. The great thing about instructor performance as a metric is that it can also be used as an external measure. When training is discussed, training managers should be the first to praise their instructors for providing quality instruction in each course, and instructor evaluations provide the supporting evidence.

Ten: End User Satisfaction. Your audience can measure effectiveness faster than anyone else, both immediately after training and after a set period of time, such as 30 or 60 days. The immediate results, sometimes called “smile sheets,” can give you an idea of what happened in the classroom. Delayed results can tell you if the material is useful or not. Additionally, end-user surveys are excellent tools for demonstrating management effectiveness.

Remember that training metrics can take time to implement and show results. It’s also important to gain buy-in from your stakeholders as you determine how to measure results. Use these metrics to get started, and use them whenever you are developing or renewing training programs. Once you can demonstrate the ultimate effectiveness, your credibility will go a long way.

Stainless steel railing

The basic elements of a stainless steel railing system are the posts (square or round), the top railing, and the infill. Common fill options are stainless steel cable, glass variations, or stainless steel bars. Other needs include base covers for the posts, post-mounted handrail brackets for mounting the top rails, and end caps or wall returns for the top rails.

Stainless steel railings are available in many shapes and sizes. The most common designs are square and round. While each style provides a modern touch, each offers its own individual characteristics. Square tubes are typically referred to as a very contemporary design, while round tubes are considered for a wider selection of applications.

A unique design can be achieved by pairing a round post with a square top rail and vice versa. The mix and match of post and top rail combinations along with various infill options offers consumers a wide variety of options when choosing a stainless steel rail system for their home, office or business.

Glass infill is a great option for maintaining a flawless appearance on an outdoor deck, balcony, or gazebo. The glass railing will create an invisible barrier that won’t obscure a phenomenal view. Glass is available in different shades, thicknesses, and even patterns. Glass and stainless steel railings do not require a top railing, but it is possible to mount one with post-mounted railing brackets. A top rail in a glass railing system frames the glass panels and offers a nice finished look.

Glass panels can often be expensive depending on the type of glass used. A more cost-effective option is wire or cable filler. Cable systems are very easy to install and require little attention over time. After initial installation, the cables may need to be retensioned after they have had time to settle. Beyond a quick retensioning, they are very easy to care for. While glass panels require regular cleaning to maintain a clear and perfect view.

Another option is the railing of the bar system. Bar systems offer a unique aesthetic. The bars can only be used with square posts because the accessories needed to mount the bars are square and flat. Due to the square posts required, the bar system is a very contemporary design that suits very specific buildings and layouts. A round top rail can be added for a contrasting design.

The stainless steel railing is also an excellent application for exterior surfaces. There are two grades of stainless steel that are commonly used in stainless steel railing, 304 and 316. 316 stainless steel has greater resistance to corrosion. 316 steel is generally recommended for any application within five miles of salt water. 304 stainless steel is acceptable for all other indoor and outdoor uses.

How to Use Marketing Channels to Drive Book Sales

Understanding how online and offline marketing channels can work together is essential to the financial success of your book. These channels, if used together consistently, can help you as the author achieve sustainable competitive advantage. It will also help your book generate a steady stream of income.

Here is a brief discussion and explanation on book marketing channels and how they can help you become a more successful author:

What is a “marketing channel”?

Here is the quick explanation: A marketing channel simply refers to the places where you can interact with your audience. Each of these venues or channels allows you to show your audience that you love and are experienced in your particular micro-niche. These channels also give you and your audience a direct way to hear each other and share information. This process of listening and sharing is how meaningful, lasting and profitable relationships are built between you and your audience.

How is a “marketing channel” different from a “sales channel”?

Here is the quick explanation: A sales channel simply refers to the way your books are kept and sold to book buyers or the end consumer. These channels include online bookstores, physical bookstores, book distributors, wholesalers, etc. These are often called indirect sales channels. But if you sell your book directly from your home or office, you are also part of the sales channel. This would be called a direct sales channel.

There are two main ways to analyze the different categories of marketing channels available to book marketers. These are 1. online marketing channels and 2. offline marketing channels.

1. Online marketing channels

1.a. The online marketing channels you control

What online methods or media are you going to use to speak to your audience? And show them that you have something to say? This could and should involve your blogging, article marketing, guest posting, podcasting, creating videos, using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. All of these channels would become part of your social media marketing efforts, also known as your author platform.

1 B. Online Marketing Channels You Don’t Control

Other online marketing channels include those that you don’t have direct control over. Like blogs and websites that share or republish your blog posts. This also includes reviews of your book that are written and posted on other blogs. Or other bloggers who quote you or your book in their own blog posts. Or share your infographics, slideshows, videos, etc.

2. Offline marketing channels

Offline channels can also directly affect your online marketing and sales. This includes all of your marketing efforts that are not done online. Some of the most obvious examples are the use of postcards and direct mail newsletters to keep your customers informed of new information that you think they would benefit from. Another is to send your clients reminders and notices or birthday cards, for example. And also call them on the phone or send them a text message.

For example, if you are an accountant, you can ask your clients to share one of your articles online with your online audience. Or send your past clients a reminder notice of the next tax season’s deadlines. If you are a chef in a gourmet food market, for example, you can chat with your customers face-to-face about the food; give cooking lessons in your kitchen; give out free recipes, etc.

There are countless ways to market offline to your audience. It doesn’t matter what profession you are in. It just takes a little creative thinking and a desire to share information to find fun new ways to build and connect with your audience.

Now you must realize that the joint use of online and offline channels can create an extremely powerful and profitable way to market your books. By combining each one, you will create a marketing program that will build strength and momentum that will continue to help you consistently sell books in the long run.

8 painless ways to cut carbs

The Atkins diet reached peak fad status in 2004, and although it has since been superseded by new modern ways of losing weight, it has had a lasting impact on the way people view weight loss. Atkins recommended that dieters reduce their carbohydrate intake. But that may be more difficult than it sounds. Here are some easy ways to eliminate carbohydrates from your diet without sacrificing all of your favorite foods.

1. Lose the juice: Fruit juice is not as healthy as people thought. It lacks the fiber of whole fruit, and even 100% fruit juice is loaded with sugar and carbohydrates. Eliminating fruit juice from your diet can eliminate a carbohydrate source that you may not even have been looking at.

2. Cut the crust: While pizza is an undeniably delicious treat, most pizza crusts are high in refined white flour, which is a major carbohydrate offender. If you can’t resist eating pizza, opt for the thin-crust variety over a deep plate. You can still get your dose of ketchup and cheese without eating as many carbs.

3. Wrap It Up: Sacrificing sandwiches and burgers is one of the hardest things to eat low-carb. But if you “think beyond bread,” you can still enjoy many of the flavors you love – just low carb. The solution? Substitute lettuce wraps for the bun on your burger or the bun on your turkey sandwich. You will drastically reduce the carbohydrate content and still have something to grab.

4. Replace Your Spaghetti – A spiralizer is the kitchen invention you never knew you needed, and it’s surprisingly affordable, with many costing less than $ 30. This nifty gadget can transform zucchini, zucchini, and other low-carb veggies into spaghetti (or other ways), making it a great substitute for that carb-rich pasta you miss eating.

5. Replace Your Rice: Rice, like pasta, is a carbohydrate-rich starch that is ubiquitous in many kitchens. But you don’t have to give up Chinese or Indian food entirely just because you’re counting carbs. Try substituting it with cauliflower with rice. It has a similar texture and absorbency, and when loaded with curry or broccoli meat, you will hardly notice a difference.

6. Swap out your French fries: French fries are one of those snacks that is really hard to let go of. If you’re craving that crunch, try the kale chips, which offer the same snacking capacity with fewer carbs and a host of other health benefits. You can even make your own by tossing chopped kale in olive oil, separating the leaves on a cooking pan, and popping them in the oven until crisp.

7. Choose protein for breakfast: Even healthy breakfast cereals, like granola and oatmeal, are high in carbohydrates. But if you start your day with a protein, especially eggs, you won’t start off on the wrong foot. Eating protein early in the day also activates your digestive system and helps you start burning fat when you exercise.

8. Skip the starch: While you need veggies to stay healthy on your low-carb diet, you want to avoid starchy varieties. Potatoes are obviously off-limits, but so are sweet potatoes, despite being otherwise healthy. Other secretly starchy vegetables include carrots, peas, and corn. The next time you need a veggie side or want to add something to a salad, find some peppers, broccoli, asparagus, or artichokes.

Paleo and keto diets take a page out of Atkins’ book by suggesting you cut down on carbs. If you are following any of these diets, or the many others that recommend a reduced carb intake, the tips above may help!

Floriography – Meaning of flowers

Called floriography or the language of flowers, a series of flowers have obtained unique symbolic meanings since medieval times, although the use of this type of vocabulary only became widespread from the Victorian era.

Used as a means of communication to express feelings that could not be spoken, floriography is used by almost anyone who gives flowers, whether they are language conscious or not; It is not necessary to be familiar with historical language to know that red roses symbolize passionate love and therefore are not suitable for your Mother on Mother’s Day.

For those interested in the meaning of flowers, this is a list of many of the popular flowers plus their symbolism:

All these popular flowers represent wonderful natural beauty and pride as well. Present these flowers to an attractive woman.

This particular flower first came to the UK in 1788. Hydrangeas are great for thanking and forgiving while symbolizing frigidity and cruelty.

These flowers have accumulated many meanings over time, such as belief; knowledge; value; insurance; hope and also a message but nowadays they are usually sent to say “my congratulations”.

Keys to maintaining muscle mass while losing fat

When losing weight, it is a common misconception that all of this weight is fat. However, this is false. In my previous article, I discussed the importance of creating a calorie deficit to lose weight. This article will expand on this topic and explain the importance of maintaining muscle mass and what you must do to prevent this loss of muscle mass.

When we have a calorie deficit, our body looks for energy to keep functioning. This does not necessarily have to be fat. If our body burns muscle at a high rate, you will notice that no matter how much weight you lose, you may never gain definition. The gold standard established by society is to have visible and defined abs, to achieve this we must eliminate the fat that surrounds them, not the abdominal muscles themselves.

So, here are some tips to make sure you keep muscle loss to a minimum while on a cutting cycle:

1. 1. Consume 1 g of protein for every pound of fat-free mass. For example, a 180-pound man with 20% body fat would have approximately 144 pounds of lean body mass. This would mean that your goal would be to consume approximately 140g of protein in your diet per day. Protein contains amino acids that are the building blocks of muscles. Even with proper strength training, if you don’t eat enough protein, you’re doomed to lose muscle.

2. 2. Keep your calorie deficit relatively low. Using the calculation I provided in my last article, we know that it takes a deficit of around 500 calories per day to burn 1 pound of fat per week. This is the safest deficit to use for both moderate weight loss and muscle maintenance.

3. 3. Strength training! This is necessary! Try to work each muscle group about every 3 days. You could work 2 muscle groups at the same time. This sends signals to your body telling it that you are using that muscle and not to use it for energy!

4. 4. It is important to note that sometimes your propensity to maintain or lose muscle in a cutting cycle is genetic. Some people have a hard time maintaining muscle, while others effortlessly maintain muscle mass during a cutting cycle. However, following steps 1, 2 and 3 will give you a fairly even playing field.

For all women who are afraid of developing large muscles and losing their femininity: it is impossible. Men are born naturally with more muscle fibers and the hormones necessary for hypertrophy. Women won’t gain huge muscles unless they take a hormone-related supplement. Strength training is NOT just for men.

If you are going to lose weight, you can also do it once and correctly. There is no point in reaching your ideal weight and still being well above the body fat you need to get those visible abs. No apologies.
